While that would be hilarious the chemistry would not be very good. Just from my two characters, both of them and especially Iskra would not like being with someone from ISIS.

Vasily fought against the Mujaheddin (The Predecessors to Al-Queada and even possibly ISIS) and Chechen insurgents. He would not be comfortable working with people with histories of insurgencies. There are exceptions but he generally does not like terrorists.

Iskra was part of the FSA (Free Syrian Army) before XCOM and she fought against ISIS. Her last moments in Syria was being part of an execution by ISIS militants. The video of the said execution is part of her file. She would've got her head lopped off if it wasn't for the coincidental timing of Spestnaz Operatives sent to extract her. So pardon her for having a hard time trusting anyone from ISIS or even the regular Syrian Army.

I think it's safe to assume that the Council has some standards to its selection process. That being said, even if members of infamous terrorist groups were eligible I doubt that any would make the cut. Being a scary terrorist =/= being a good soldier. And in any case the IRA did some pretty bad things but even they don't have such baggage despite such a long career.

I'm just hoping that something as basic as being realistic in selection, would not have to be so ridiculous to the point it makes me lose interest in this RP as several other ridiculous RPs out there did.

I guess it's an interesting discussion of just who would the Council pick from to save the planet, but yeah, there are some obvious exceptions.

Figured as much. I try to keep my head in as much as I can, and even if I can't post I'm usually lurking around. What's the point in going through the trouble of making an RP and then not being there to see it through?

I think Red Line's comment was more so a someone's bound to get hurt type of thing. The only people on base that would know anything current about the mission would be those in the Situation Room and maybe a few others of higher rank should they bother for a status update. So Theyra's question wouldn't have an answer right now.

My comment was more so what Beia is talking about. She expects that at least someone would get hurt during the mission.
