Akio was more angry at Miyuki for her quick promotion and appearance in XCOM, her cowardice was just an excuse to get at her junior. Who knows, Akio might be trying to get Miyuki out of XCOM for her own benefit too :o

Well, one thing for sure. She is a jerk. :meh:

Does Alpha 2 hold a position like vice-captain?

Note that neither Akio's past nor role in Cologne was discussed with me, and I did portray her as an experienced and respected figure in the shared history. The creation of this twist came as much as a surprise to me, and played no part in the creation of the earlier encounter between Akio and Miyuki.

No worries, its classified and its not like John is the kind of person to hold things over people's heads unless they become habitual. Freezing wasn't a habit for Aiko, just a reaction to the trauma of everything falling apart like it did in the face of an alien species.

Indeed. It might be that black mark in her which she grew from it, good side development for an NPC too :lol2:

I'm just trying to build Barb's history. Why he is not popular with the other veterans and how he ended up being put in with the newest squadrons.

Given that no one has mentioned me, I'll wonder if I should take this opportunity to have him wander off into a confrontation.

Mission 03: The Ice Below

LOCATION: Gulag 424, Siberia, Russia
The alien UFO encountered in Guatemala has been intercepted and shot down over Siberia. XCOM is looking to secure the crash site and surrounding area. Team One (Bravo and Delta) have touched down roughly 0.5 kilometers from the crash site. The area is heavily forested and cannot be travelled easily, however, the path created by the crash is mostly clear if open. Team Two (Alpha and Charlie) will be clearing Gulag 424, an abandoned Soviet prison camp, and have been joined by Russian Spetsnaz operating in the area. The prison camp sits within an man-made clearing with the primary points of interest being the watchtower and central building complex. Extreme caution is advised.

So just a few questions.

A) How far is it from the tree line to the Watchtower? The central complex?

B) If Beagle was to scope the watchtower at 12x or 3x would he see anything? Anything that's extraterrestrial perhaps?

A) I'd say roughly a football field to soccer field minimum to the central complex. The watchtower is beyond that, so at least 500 yards at the minimum. Snipers have a decided advantage here.

B) Aside from years of decay then possibly, but if you see it then it most likely sees you, in which case be ready for a bad situation.

Barb, Seta and Romanov 1 should sit down and discuss. My plan, bombard the gulag first with explosives (RPG, RPO-Shmel[If GRU brought it], anything) and sniper fire, then launch a three pronged attack simultaneously.

May cause some damage but I doubt you'd score any decisive victory right off the bat. If anything it may provide enough fire support for people to close in on the structures.

First "Barrage" , to pave way and hopefully kill some.
Second "Barrage" , to cover people who will close in.
Third and last, in direct fire.
Since there are no mortar, have to make do with anything available.

That said you only have one Heavy between Alpha and Charlie, and the Spetsnaz are likely a quick-response-unit so wouldn't be packing much firepower larger than their rifles. If anything they may have a few rockets but not enough to constitute a barrage.

Well, "salvo" of 1-2 will suffice.

Btw, would the Russians send more reinforcement?
