Barbs will be making Vasily his interpreter here...

I'll try to post later today.

Theo, even if the Russians wanted to bring heavy armor they wouldn't have had the time. It's only been 3 hours since the UFO was shot down. No way a tank or any wheeled vehicle would be getting that far into Siberia in that short of time.

I'm not serious about that. However, how likely is it for cruise missile, SU-25, SU-34 or any support available? I won't mind one 82mm.

If there was support, I'm sure it would've been mentioned by now.

Oki doki. Would love to think about Seta and Vasily sitting on the back while lobbing 82mm mortar from BM-37 or PM-41, though. Ye olde Sovietski mortar from Great Patriotic War.

Don't worry. If things get rough I'm sure that the old axes and hacksaws in the dilapidated work shed could cut through the enemy. Also I'm sure a piece of very old stale bread could kill an Alien if you throw it hard enough at its skull.

Probably easier, when you think about making a suit stronger then humans. It was probably easier to just make the MEC troopers use the limbs directly then try to tailor down the interface systems used to translate regular movement into the enhanced version.

And yes they would have taken the easy route because the world was ending. I think we can all agree XCOM doesn't actually hold value in human lives as individuals and sees instead what worth they can milk out of each one before they kick the bucket.

To be fair, MEC Troopers do get a sweet robot body whenever they aren't wearing the suit. So, they can live a somewhat normal life.
I don't know what I'm s'posed to do.

I've always kinda wondered though what they tell them before the operation.

Uhh, where does it say they're sterile? And basically turn into slaves? Ins't that why they gave them replacement limbs?

I remember a quote after recovering the meld about the subjects 'not being human after' which is understandable when alien technology is injected with little prior knowledge.

As for slaves, XCOM is run by literally a shadow council; those kinds of people don't really take kindly to letting soldiers capable of wielding a MEC suit walk away into the sunset with millions of dollars in technology just on their person.

She has zero kills. Odd implications should follow seeing as she's a Lieutenant when Barbs is still a Sergeant.

That's the number one odd thing I realised in her creation. Could be an odd promotion scale by Reid, or he totally made her do shady stuff in order to get the rank.

Was thinking she could be a veteran of missions and promoted due to her assistance in disabling and calling out targets from overwatch.

She got gutsier later. It was her first time with aliens too. That's why Barbs mentioned what happened in Cologne and said she never got harassed about it in public.

Akio was more angry at Miyuki for her quick promotion and appearance in XCOM, her cowardice was just an excuse to get at her junior. Who knows, Akio might be trying to get Miyuki out of XCOM for her own benefit too :o

Rereading that post annoys me because I have sticky H key on my laptop and like 50% of the words that start with H don't have one...
