A stoic and quiet boy, Isaac uses his mild-mannered demeanour to hide a deep, underlying sadism; he takes great delight in ruining his enemies right into the sewers. Though he isn't violent, Isaac certainly isn't a person to get on the wrong side of.

Still, with normal people, Isaac is not above having friendly relationships, though he always keeps his distance, never allowing anybody to get too close to him, whether out of distrust or some other reason.

Despite his cold exterior, Isaac harbours a deep-seated uncertainty; like a blizzard, he is perpetually afflicted by a torrential downpour of enigmatic emotions, which he hides masterfully. And though he will gladly kill to deny it, Isaac is, deep down inside, a lonely person, searching high and low for that unnamable something.

He is also secretly fond of ecchi comics, though his usual book list consists mainly of impenetrable philosophy works (particularly Nietzsche and Schopenhauer).

Isaac was born to two scientists who were part of the staff of a project that wasn't, strictly speaking, legal. His birth came during the midst of a terrible snowstorm that had been raging outside for the past three days, hence his home birth rather than a hospital delivery.

From young, Isaac's parents brought him along to their workplace, a secret undersea lab where they conducted experiments on humans in order to create unconventional weapons to sell secretly to the world's governments. The little boy would silently watch as people (albeit mostly criminals and unwitting volunteers) were tortured day and night. And while his parents brought him along entirely for convenience, Isaac saw everything.

He was highly unhappy. Unhappy with what his parents did for their six figure monthly salaries, unhappy with the stupidity of the people who allowed themselves to get trapped in this mess, unhappy with society for electing in governments that even allowed these travesties to pass. And highly disquieted by the fact that he had an uncanny ability to control the forces of gravity against the will of the planet, and that his parents were taking an uncomfortable amount of interest in him all of a sudden.

And before he knew it, a one year gap in his memory had planted itself in his brain, and the next thing Isaac knew, he, too, had become part of the project, as a test subject. It was then that he realised what was going on; his parents were trying to harness magic powers to create weapons. Just one week into the testing, Isaac lost it completely; he used his power and squashed his father into a dead heap as he was attempting to attach an IV tube into his arm, blowing up the operation theatre in the process.

Dismayed (more at the destruction of the room than what had happened to her husband and her son), Isaac's mother had him sedated heavily, before quietly pulling strings and having Isaac shipped off to a remote magic school on some island in Lake Superior.

Why she was willing to release a test subject just like that, Isaac could never fathom for the life of it; yet, he had his suspicions, and continued to harbour them, even as he took a step into what could be a new hope for redemption.

Personality: Meticulous, slow to act, but after her mutilation at the hands of "Phos" she has a definite breaking power, where she will jump into violent action. She can be some what vindictive. Distant to everyone, especially her family. Plans everything before acting, bit of a control freak. Over her first year at Mana she came out of her shell somewhat, and has found a close friend in Aria. Instead of Staying back and isolating her self she tends to put up a front of arrogance and power, using what ever methods she can to appear stronger than she is, However, she always tried to be kind to others, and show that blood magic is not evil. Then the events with Lynfluer or Phos, changed her. A darker more sadistic side of her some times shows, and her lust for power was redoubled.

Animal: Through her blood line she has a bond the the creature named Erebus. Erebus is a primordial being of enbodying nothingness It's power is fragmented, and her shard resides in the form of a massive black crow.

Likes: Control over her self and surroundings. Respect of others. Women. Stanley Kubrick movies. Hoarding knowledge. Efficiency in all things. She has a deep lust for power, believing that with it she can have true personal freedom.

Dislikes: Her family, and the way that they tried to push her to the side and shelter her. Wasting magical power. The stigma around blood magic. Being called Cathy. (She prefers Viv, or just Catherine, hell, she'll even take Anne over Cathy.)

Bio: Catherine is the only daughter of Patrick Kennedy, a senator in Massachusetts and nephew of John F. Kennedy. Her mother is a wealthy technology entrepreneur, and carried the sanguine line. Blood magic some times surfaces in the family, the sanguine line, as it did in Catherine. Thus she took the name "De Sanguine Vivere" (the living blood) as all blood mages in her family did. Her ancestors were the first blood mages, dating back to blood shamans in what is now Romania, before even the Roman Empire's formation. They were generally reviled, and are responsible for such acts as the creation of vampires. She lived a secluded life, raised and tutored to marry some one important and and use that influence to further her families political goals. Unfortunately for them, Catherine happened to have absolutely no interest in men, she did how ever spend a lot of time with her tutors young daughter. Not willing to totally disown their daughter, as that would lead to a PR disaster for the family, they decided to send her off to Mana Academy. Catherine didn't care to much, she was just as happy to get away from her parents control as they were to get her out of their sight.
Catherine's first year at Mana was was a happy time for her. Catherine made friends among her class mates, finding that she wasn't excluded or hated for her powers. With a new devotion she attacked her studies, practicing constantly, reading from the old books of her family, and learning from the teachers at Mana. She used her aptitude in manipulating biology to change her own body. Her biggest change was a second heart, some thing that kept her alive fighting Phos. The most obvious of these changes is a layer of controlled blood in her eyes, giving her both red eyes, and supernaturally keen vision. Along with those are arcane runes covering her body, inside and out, that she can store extra power to be used later with. Early in her second year at mana, these changes where put to the test. A group of black mages, lead by Lynfluer, attacked the school. She committed to a ritual that would let her more fully harness the power of her blood line, but didn't expect the full consequences. Her mind was overwhelmed with the long dead Sanguine mages of the past, and they lead her to disaster. Spurred on by the arrogance of the long dead, Catherine attempted to defeat Phos alone, and in turn was her self defeated. The battle cost her dearly. She suffered horrendous wounds, including the loss of an eye and arm. The affects went further than that, and with the ritual connection to her blood line so suddenly severed, the spirits left something behind. She is plagued by nightmares of past lives, their most horrible moments of pain burned into her mind. After this event, when her ancestors failed her, she has lost any respect she had for the idea's of old, and any idea of duty to the family, or house.
Catherine has very little raw magical power, relying on careful planing and efficient use of little energy for maximum effect. Recently she has been pushing her limits and advanced significantly. Catherine's magic takes almost no mana, though she still has a very limited pool to draw from. Her most common techniques involve the psychical manipulation of threads of her own blood.. This can allow thin, nearly invisible blades of blood to be formed. Catherine's more potent, and subtle magics come from manipulating the composition of her and others blood. This ranges from raising levels of anti-bodies and coagulants, to pumping cyanide into some one. She can only manipulate other's blood if it makes contact with her own.
