Homestuk: the RPG
You are a GIRL, a BOY, SOMETHING IN BETWEEN, or SOMETHING ELSE ALTOGETHER. You may even be one of a variety of alien species, such as a CHERUB, TROLL, or even a CARAPACIAN. Today may even be your BIRTHDAY, your 13th, to be precise. You likely have A VARIETY OF INTERESTS, which you like to CAPITALISE when introducing yourself. You may have a GUARDIAN. The are likely a parent, relative, omnipotent domesticated animal, or luses. Maybe they are alive, dead, or stand taxidermied in your living room! You have several friends on PESTERCHUM, and often type in a particular colour. You may even have a wRiTiNg QUIRK of $0mE .so.r.t. It really is up to you! The only thing that isn't up to you, in fact, is that today is a very special day. A certain game is arriving in the mail today. A game you've wanted to play for a while, or perhaps a game you've never heard of. Regardless, that game is called SBURB.

I'm looking for about 4 players for this (I'll consider more if there's a lot of interest). If you wanna play, feel free to reserve a place as soon as you can, and we'll talk character creation later. I'm willing to work with you on making unique or strange characters, i thats what you want. Any questions, don't hesistate to post here or TG me.
I still haven't decided how I'm gonna run this (suggestions welcome) so if I need to I may make a character.

I haven't got an app yet, but I do have some ideas. Would a Muse of Breath be allowed or nah? (She would be very inexperienced, and per that wiki Muses don't really start out that much better, so I think it wouldn't necessarily be OP).

Appearance: 5'8 and slightly overweight. Wears a gray button down shirt (with the occasional bow tie), black slacks, and brown shoes. Has neatly combed brown hair, green eyes, rectangular glasses, and braces.
Bio: The life of Michael Doyle, nicknamed "Mike" by his internet friends, is an uneventful one. He's spent his entire life in a calm and peaceful suburb with his sister, who acts as guardian since he has no parents. They must have died when they were a young age, or something like that. The only notable event is the day that Mike took in a rabbit that he found injured in his yard, which kindled his interest in zoology.
Skills: Correcting others, categorizing animals, answering random trivia.
Interests: Science fiction and fantasy, video games, books, zoology.

Out of curiosity, how did it go?
I'm new to P2TM and relatively new to PBP RP's in general.
I'm still trying to decide the best way to do this.

None of them really went well. A homestuck based rp called Welcome to Alpha did the best out of the three, where everything was determined by the OP, who was like a GM. We stated the actions, and he decided the outcomes.

My first Homestuck rp, called Welcome to Alternia, was somewhat like Alpha, where I decided the classpects and planets, but I did a poor job of pushing the story forward and it crashed quickly. My second rp, called Sburb: the Roleplay, did slightly better. I gave the roleplayers full freedom for what their classpects, planets, and actions were, but it gradually lost steam, and like the first one, I am terrible at pushing the plot forward.

I think the way you're doing things is good, giving the roleplayer freedom in deciding their classpect, but you should have an overarching plot in mind that would keep the story from derailing. I focused more on completing the game than an actual storyline, and that ended in failure.

You don't have to. If you do, then it'd be a better decision to not let the players decide their own classpects, but choose them based on their personality like in Alpha. You could just be another roleplayer here, but have some sort of grip on the plot. It's your decision.

You should also have a plot set up before it starts. Obviously, things aren't going to go smoothly. How will the trolls and cherubs get involved? Etc.

This is a bit off topic, but the reason I picked Mage of Time is because Mike is intelligent, but a slow thinker, and often feels rushed for time, or feels like he is running out of time.

That'll be good. A sprite would be able to, in character, explain everything from there on. I'd actually be interested in taking such an advisory role, IC.

That'll be good. A sprite would be able to, in character, explain everything from there on. I'd actually be interested in taking such an advisory role, IC.

Of course, we'd need more people before such an advisory position as sprites is necessary!
