Character Bio: Alexander was born in the city of Tiraspol, in the unrecognized separatist state of Transnistria, officially the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, socialist totalitarian state which broke away from the Republic of Moldova in the early days of the collapse of the USSR, and one of the many post-Soviet "frozen conflict" zones. Definitively not a good place to live. Cold, gloomy, poor, filled with gray Soviet-style apartment blocks, still believing that it is a part of the Soviet Union. Also a zone of continuous guerrilla conflict. Wonderful.
Maybe that's why Alexander has always been a gloomy pessimist. Dreams, hopes.. they all eventually die. You only do what the State tells you to do. He had a pretty boring childhood, that if you compare it to the general childhood of the people who have the bad luck to live in Transnistria. At least he lived in the capital, Tiraspol, so his childhood was sort of quiet.. of course, they had to deal with the continuous lack of aliments and such.. but you get used to it. Eventually. At the very least, his father was some sort of official in the Ministry of State Security, so they had certain advantages.. but also, that meant that his father was always gone from home. He lived with his mother and sister, and except from the occasional bombings, his childhood was uneventful.
That of course started to change when he went to school, and had to join the Pioneers, and the Communist Youth Movement. He never really believed in all their propaganda.. but he at least had to pretend that he liked it. Such was life. But as a young Transnistrian boy should, he was.. convinced to "volunteer" in various youth paramilitary organizations. He really liked music.. and even tried to learning signing at some instruments.. but learning how to handle an AK-47 was much more important to the state. One night though, when he was out, training with his pioneer detachment.. a random artillery strike hit parts of the city. Or at least that's what he was told. His mother and sister were caught beneath the rubble of an entire block collapsing over them.. and although he tried, and did everything he could to save them, together with the police and with the army which had come to help with the emergency.. they reached them too late, after they remained without air... and that was it.
After that.. he pretty much stopped caring. About everything.

I'll try to get back into this soon. The first step in that process would obviously be to finish off that WIP character app I left here ages ago. It's a bit late, so I'll probably try and work on it tomorrow. Alternatively I could just make a new character (or nick a different one from another RP), but working with something I already started on is likely the best option.

I'll probably start episode 2 soon, first there is a couple more peeps working on apps, followed by a little more character interaction during off time. I am at work, so I can't post now, but Amber is free for conversation, also free for q's, and the like. Make sure to have some good character interactions and development.
