Well, she isn't meant to be liked for being a player, seductive, and promiscuous, nor in her want to get any girl she can. It is more a humanistic version of the loneliness of Purgatory, and an attempt to fill it with temporary pleasantries.

Lol. To summarize, it's this: "I love love, but love doesn't love me." Or something like that. He's a mourning man who hasn't gotten over the fact that he's dead, that he died insane, and that he lost his wife, who was both the love of his life and his main muse. He's been stuck in Purgatory for 100 years and doesn't think he'll ever be happy again.
He's just...not good at communicating this vocally. Or physically. And can be a jerk. XD
