Not too fond of nightcore. Don't see what people like in it other than its obvious Anime relation.

Then again, some of you might not be into this either. :P

what is a tandaloorian? This is supposed to be death in the real world, are they a real people? I am unfamiliar.

couple things, using your nationstates nation is usually considered bad form. This is also supposed to be the real world they died in. So they should be from america, or Istanbul, or a previous nation like Constantinople or Persia. They can be a fictional person (preferred for, if not required) but the setting is clearly earth in normal to past history. Please change it. I am denying this application in its first state. Please be realistic, and especially do not use a fictitious nation, planets, and wars.

Also, even then, I think the bio is a bit sparse. Try for a good sized paragraph that at least covers multiple periods in their life. I would especially love for it to cover life after appearing in Purgatory. I am especially curious as to how a militant warrior just up and became a stage coach driver... that seems like an unrealistic shift without providing backstory to that.

Fine, fine. Can we just say Tandooria is an island that got invaded by Russia (instead of my nation)?

Also, what was Pergutory like before the Victorian era?

no, please just pick russia, and pick an actual war, there are many throughout history. A little research, find a war, die in it.

and purgatory was no different "before the victorian era," it just picked an era and it was that. I did this because it shouldn't be shifting in technological capability every time earth progressed. That felt kinda arbitrary. So it has a specific technological capability, and that does not change, even past the victorian era. It is, and always will be. Plus, it provides so many times of people going: "what the frick is this 'gun' you speak of?" or "I don't even have cell coverage here!"

How about he died on Iwo Jima. Hes from a perviously unknown tribe called Tandooria. It doesn't matter, really. He died protecting his homeland.

So, you just transform tandoori into some honored family lineage. He could either be a side family with ties to the main family, or their protectors. That would work.

Closer, might be good to mention iwojima, or his japanese heritage. Almost done.

Also, anti-thief would probably be... just a guard. And your clothes get transformed to victorian era clothing immediately upon appearing in Purgatory.

There are no dragons, so how does he like them? oathbreakers seems fantasy like, see about a different dislike. I don't think oathbreaking is a formal concept in japan.

also, in your short summary, could you not use a link? Maybe put that in the regular bio in reference to the blade. Might be good to find a katana instead of a WOW weapon, while your at it.

W H A TD O E S I TM E A N T OD I E A G A I N ?
Purgatory: The City at The Edge of No Where.

Name: Tony Redgrave
Age: Somewhere in his thirties. Didn't really remember.
Years in Purgatory: Stopped counting after 50.
Occupation: Inspector for Purgatory City Police Department
Prior Occupation: Didn't really recall, but he doesn't think that it's too far from what he was doing in Purgatory.

Appearance
Image
Character Bio:
Inspector Tony Redgrave. Born, raised, lived, and also died in Chicago, during the Prohibition Era. The times where big gangs of Mafioso Americano controls the city, including the city's very own police system. Corrupt cops, bribed and bribing inspectors, you name it. Tony was one of these inspectors.

Hailing from a neighborhood where you can no longer differ cops and mobsters, Redgrave didn't find it surprising that he ended up as a corrupt investigator, tasked as one of the chief's hands in collecting bribes from local mafia gangs. However, by his time, the Chicago Outfit, ruled by the famous Alphonse Gabriel Capone, had already hold the whole metro Chicago in their hands. So instead of placed at a local gang, he was placed at a division in The Outfit. Technically, this division was tasked with distributing bootlegged liquors to the whole Chicago and beyond. However, the truth that only Redgrave and the division's members know, was that the division was participating in kidnapping street children and homeless people, and then selling them. Al apparently didn't approve about this, though, so the division was doing it in secret, cause if someone tipped them off to the boss, well, they're swiss cheese. Cooperating with the police force, they set up a cover for it. The police force told the masses that they were hunting down street kids and the homeless to be sent to orphanages and local churches, so they won't clutter the streets.

If you think Redgrave was alright with this, then excuse me for saying that you are a dumbass. None of that sat right with him. No matter how much they paid him, he was always uneasy seeing kids bound and caged. He didn't really care about the homeless adults, but the kids, man. Eventually, the inspector went to the point that he didn't care anymore. He just want to collect his pays, and get out of there real quick.

It is strange how fate seemed to like to toy us. Just when he already felt nothing for the poor street kids, he himself started meeting up with a young girl who lived in an alleyway near his residence. Alice, she said that was her name. In return, he just told her to call him Redgrave. She asked him for food. She said she hadn't eat anything for the past two days. Even to this day, Redgrave still wondered why he went and bought a loaf of bread for them to split, when he could have just ignored her. He thought nothing of it at the time, but now, he thought it was probably God's strange way of setting up events for his death. Maybe it was the retribution for his actions. Maybe he was just overthinking things. He didn't know, and in truth, he preferred to stay that way.

Since that day, he would always meet up with Alice. He would always have a fresh loaf of bread ready, and they would always sit down in that alleyway and split the bread, and ate it together. They would chat till night time came, and Redgrave would return to his residence, while Alice went to her makeshift shelter, with other kids. Tony Redgrave never experienced the joy of being married during his career as an inspector, mainly due to his own principles, that he didn't want no woman to be dragged down into the underbelly which he worked in. Therefore, he didn't know what it was like to have kids of your own. But he thought just being with Alice every day was probably the closest thing he has to feeling what it was like to have a daughter. Alice had turned from just a street kid he met and fed every day to his own refuge after a stressful day collecting pays from the Outfit's division he was tasked into.

But all good things must come to an end.

He thought it was just a normal day, collecting normal pay. Everything looked normal at the Outfit's division. Nothing seemed abnormal. The next batch of street kids that arrived at the place was also normal, since they arrived on a normal time and on the normal count. There was only one thing that didn't sit normal at all with Redgrave.

Alice was among them.

"Mr. Redgrave!", she shouted. Her face lit with hope, seeing someone that she knew was caring and kind to her. "Mr. Redgrave!", she shouted his name again. "Please, help me! These scary men took me and my friends out of our shelter and bound us! I'm scared!"

Unknown to her, Redgrave's mind was shutting down like a computer that had just crashed, even though they didn't know what a computer is at the time. His eyes were blank, but his horrified expression showed enough how shocked he was to seeing something like this. His mental state was a maelstrom of things that he wanted to do and things that he knew he should do.

"Oh, ya know this girl, Tony?", one of the mobsters around him spoke, the one who was holding the singular leash of all the kids. "Yeah, he know me! We eat together every day! He will save me! He's my friend!", Alice spoke defiantly against her holders.

"Shut the hell up, you little bitch!", the mobster spoke as he slapped her across the face, making her yelp in pain. "He's not going to help you. He's our accomplice. He's been allowing us to sell boys and girls your age for several thick wads of money."

Shocked, but not believing, Alice asked the inspector. "Is it true, Mr. Redgrave?" She spoke with a tone that clearly showcased her not believing the mobster's words. "No way. Why would he ate together and chat with me all day? You're a liar!"

Running out of patience, the mobster yanked her leash. "Well, if you're so inclined not believing it, see it for yerself! He won't do a thing as we drag you out to yer new home!"

The mobster stick true to his words, as he dragged Alice, along with the other kids, struggling as they may, towards the room where the kids were going to be sedated and put into cages, like some sort of animal, or a slave.

"S-Stop!", Redgrave finally said. He stuttered, but he said it. His hands reached out to Alice. "The fuck?", the rest of the mobsters exclaimed in surprise. Looking round at everyone, who were now eyeing him strangely, he began forming sentences. "P-Please.. Just.. Just let her go. I don't care about the other kids. Just please let Alice go!", he pleaded.

There was a brief silence that followed Redgrave's plea, which were quickly broken by the mobsters' laughs. Not caring about his plea, they carried on, dragging the kids away. Both Redgrave and Alice screamed for each other, with Redgrave now being held by the mobsters, forced to watch as the street girl he had grown to care as his own daughter dragged away from him. Getting tired of their screams, they knocked Alice out first, before they did the same to Redgrave just as he drew his Colt M11911A1 and shot one of the mobsters in the leg, as the kids were dragged past the door and the only thing that the inspector could do was watch from the ground with bleary eyes.

"Tony, Tony, Tony." A sympathetic sounding voice called him from above. Someone was standing over him. He recognized who it was just by the tone. Victor "Tricky Vic" DeLuca. The one who led this division. One of Scarface Al's many "generals". Through unclear vision and the slowly ebbing away consciousness, he could still make out the outline of a Colt M1911A1, the very same that he was holding before the mobs knocked him out. He knew what was coming.

"You're a fool, Tony. A fool, I tell you what.", DeLuca said, kneeling above the fallen inspector, looking at him straight in the eye. "You know, we could've just talked this over. Instead, you drew your gun at my men. If we talked it over, I'm sure we can find another street rat for you. There's plenty of them out there. If there's none in Chicago, we'll look outside of Chicago. You can even specify what kind of kid you want. But you choose to do this," he pointed at his man that was being shot by Redgrave.

DeLuca sighed. "Well, you know what, even if you didn't shot him, we'll still do this anyway. You've proved to be a liability." He cocked the gun, making sure it was locked and loaded. "And we can't allow any liability." Redgrave shut his eyes, bracing himself for what was coming. "Sorry friend. It was just good business."

Redgrave didn't even bother to pray when he heard the bang and felt the bullet gone straight through his head. He knew where he was heading.

But God knows best.

When he came to, he was surprised to see the scenery in front of him. Instead of standing in the fiery floor of Hell as he was expecting, Tony Redgrave was standing in a platform, inside a place that looked like a metro station covered with pure, shining, white marble tiles. In front of him, was a silver train. The placard hanging above the train showed the destination.

Purgatory.

He almost laughed. He was expecting Hell because he was sure he hadn't do anything good enough in his life for God to consider someone like him to be granted a chance in Purgatory. But God and his strange, incomprehensible ways placed him in front of a train that was going for Purgatory. Getting tired of seeing unexpected things, he boarded the train, along with several passengers that looked like they might or might not be dying in a time that was different from his.

After a long ride through a dark tunnel, which was actually the impenetrable darkness of the Limbo that made it looked like they were going through a tunnel instead of a vast expanse of absolute darkness, the train stopped.

Purgatory. Here goes nothing, he thought.

He stepped out of the train, along with other passengers. Looking ahead, he found a sign hanging from the ceiling of the station that the train was stopping at. "Purgatory City Metro Station", it read. Just below it, another sign read, "Welcome to Purgatory. Enjoy your stay."

As soon as he finished reading the sign, his head throbbed, hard. An unimaginable pain seared through his brain, like his head was being torn apart as if it was a morning newspaper. By the time the pain subsided, he had lost most of his memories. All he remembered was his name, seeing a girl screaming and reaching out for him while being handled by mobsters, his image standing vigilant as if he was guarding something along with the same mobsters, the name Alice, a man shot his head, and the fact that he is dead and that he is in Purgatory. The rest was a mix of blurs and statics.

To make matters short, he quickly got adjusted to life in Purgatory, suspected that whatever he did before in life was bad, and that he need to redeem it in some way. He joined the Purgatory Police Department, a police force formed out of understanding that they need to do some good, even though it was just keeping a semblance of law and order in a city that is basically the outer part of both Heaven and Hell. He tried to do good during his days of duty as a police officer of Purgatory, finally achieving the rank of Inspector, which essentially only allowed him to wield another gun other than a service revolver and wear a coat to hide the uniform that almost looked like a cheap Scotland Yard rip-off, since investigating was what all police officers of Purgatory allowed to do. Eventually, he got tired. He thought he could get redemption, he thought God would allow him passage if he did enough good. But during his past 50 years of service, he saw nothing but men that died again so that the lives of others can be preserved even though they were nowhere near alive. Right now, he just did what he did as a police officer, which is serving and protecting innocent citizens, out of habit.

However, there is still one thing that he had a drive to do: finding out who is the girl that screamed out to him, and who was Alice.

Personality: He is, in short, what you would call a Knight in Sour Armor, wearing Jade-Colored Glasses, who suffered from a case of Chronic Hero Syndrome. Meanwhile, the very own reason for his death was a Villainous Breakdown and passing the Moral Event Horizon.

Purgatory: The City at The Edge of No Where.

Name: Lynn Ashmore Cornelius Winstanley-Percy
Age: 15, probably. That was the last birthday he recalls having, anyway.
Years in Purgatory: Oh? How strange, I could have sworn I'd written it down somewhere...
Occupation: Librarian, author, singer. Things like that. (other stuff, uncertain, may change, etc)
Prior Occupation Noble

Character Bio:
Born in 1873, in the late 19th century heyday of the British Empire, Lynn was the son of a wealthy, militaristic noble, William George Algernon Winstanley-Percy who spent a great deal of time tending to matters in the British Army abroad, often in the Mediterranean territories or Africa, rarely dealing with his family. His mother, Alice Isabella Winstanley-Percy (formerly Seymour) pursued more eccentric things, and it would be her influence, along with his uncle's, that would be blamed by others for his own delvings into the occult and the supernatural from an early age. His mother was a member of the Theosophical Society, and a close friend of Queen Victoria, who grew increasingly interested in the supernatural after the death of her husband. Fairly early on in life certain ...oddities were present. It could be said that he had a gift or a knack for sensing unusual things, and by that, things not discernible by others. Perhaps the price for this was his fragile constitution. When he was younger, he was often bedridden, and watching the clouds go by from the window of the elaborate estate in which he spent his early years, quickly proved a dull affair. It didn't take long before he developed a considerable interest in books.

Whilst his family heralded from the north of England, and had obvious ties to the Percy family through marriage and land, and thus to the wealth of an old and powerful lineage, they were often brought up and educated in the south. His grandmother had been a member of a German noble family, the Grafs von Helfenstein-Wiesensteigen, who had in the early 19th century delved into matters of industry, becoming rather rich through ownership of steel and coal reserves in southern Germany.

His uncle, Charles, had accrued considerable wealth in India, through involvement in trade, and according to rumours, had delved into magic to further said wealth, travelling and encountering various mystics, Hindu ascetics, Muslim fakirs and "other such types".

For some reason known only to himself (can't be arsed ironing it out), he grew into the habit of crossdressing.

Delving into the occult, he learned how to invoke nature spirits for various means, whilst warily avoiding delving into the conjuration of more malevolent entities, having heard how dangerous such things were, and knowing that one way or another, a high price would be paid.

Some sort of shady cult began launching attacks on the group he joined. People began disappearing. Either he joined some dodgy demon summoning thing himself, or he got kidnapped and brought into it. A demon was summoned and went on a rampage, though it wouldn't be so quick to end his life (or someone/people, perhaps human killed him?). Tortured and murdered? Possessed? Obviously to be clarified/decided upon and done at some point. One way or another, he didn't die quickly, and he didn't die cleanly.

Personality: Often seems oddly cheerful and a bit absent-minded, yet polite, and somewhat shy. While easily absorbed by things he's interested in, Lynn can be surprisingly thoughtful and perceptive. May be a bit "off". Moar to come.

How much do you Remember?: TBD.

Likes and Dislikes: Likes magic, reading, sweets, classical music, dogs, cats, rabbits, cute/pretty things, other stuff. Dislikes weakness, being powerless/restrained and otherwise limited. Ugly things, thugs, fools, naivety, spiders, insects, general crawlies, other stuff.
Alignment: TBA.
Theme: TBA.

Accept the Rules?: [ ] Yes [X] No
If no, reason: Befehl ist Befehl.
RP Sample: Noe.

short summary: Victorian noble bookworm-trap with a knack for the arcane. Moar to come.

Purgatory: The City at The Edge of No Where.

Name: Tony Redgrave
Age: Somewhere in his thirties. Didn't really remember.
Years in Purgatory: Stopped counting after 50.
Occupation: Inspector for Purgatory City Police Department
Prior Occupation: Didn't really recall, but he doesn't think that it's too far from what he was doing in Purgatory.
