Krastikan-Alliance War

Krenpa - Krastika Prime - Krastika System - Krem'Ha Sector - GKU

Whatever dream of a grand beach landing that these Alliance marines envisioned was to become did not come into fruition when they came out of their shuttlecraft. Contrary to their expectations all that they could see were nothing more than ruined buildings, charred corpses, overturned vehicles and destroyed military equipment. There was a constant ringing throughout the town as the air raid siren continued playing non-stop despite the bombardment being over. There was burning pieces of paper flying around which mixed and danced with the smoke from the buildings. There was the occasional corpse of a Krastikan wearing some sort of simple uniform, gray helmet and carrying some sort of device. Further inspection of these corpses would reveal that they were part of the Hejuc Party's People's Militia. The People's Militia was the All-Volunteer Civilian Paramilitary Unit in charge of civil defense. The real question however was where were the civilians and the soldiers the Alliance Marines were supposed to be facing. Occasionally there was some gunfire in the distance but many of it was due to reflexes or mistaking a shadow for an enemy soldier.

As the Alliance Marines got bolder and pushed forward, they discovered the same sights all around the city. There were numerous propaganda posters which were glued all over the walls and doors. The words were in Krastikan and each poster had a patriotic image on them. Of course the occasional Alliance Marine would take the time to graffiti all over the poster before returning to his duty. Even the important buildings were empty and there were large piles of papers, books, and electronic equipment outside heaped into piles. It was clear that the officials in these buildings were trying to burn and destroy any important information before the Alliance came in. Unfortunately it seemed as if the bombardment by the Alliance Navy only helped their efforts as these piles were burning and scraps of electronics were everywhere.

At the center of the city was a large plaza and a very wide street which was used as parade grounds for the soldiers. The street was called Hejuc Way and it was named after the ruling political party of the Greater Krastikan Union, the Hejuc Party. There were even banners of GKU littered throughout the buildings in this plaza and on this particular street signifying its importance. Of course many of these banners were on the ground due to the bombardment. In the midst of all this destruction, the golden statue of the Supreme Leader still stood there. It was untouched by the bombardment and still gleamed prominently in the sunlight. The posture of this statue was a dominating figure standing tall and stretching his hand toward the sky as if trying to reach it.

In some of the buildings there were the remains of military communication equipment and munitions but all of the communication equipment had been smashed. Moreover there seemed to be anti-craft cannons set up but with no ammunition. In fact it seemed as if all the soldiers had abandoned their positions even before the Alliance came here. In some places there were uniforms, helmets, and weapons scattered frantically about. Another sight was the crashed Krastikan Main Battleship which mixed in with the rubble of the Capital City. Its hull was split in half and many of its windows were broken from the outside. One of the main guns of the battleship was twisted and bent. This was one of the battleships that launched from the Mass Driver but was shot down during launch and crashed into the city itself.

Near the outskirts of the city the prominent mountain fortress which was the home of the Supreme Leader was strangely unscathed by the bombardment. In fact only a few places showed damage but the rest of the complex looked untouched by the destruction brought by the Alliance Navy. However for some reason the scanners were becoming increasingly unreliable as they got closer to certain spots in the city.

Here was the city. But where was the people? Where is the enemy?

Versla - Krastika System - Krem'Ha Sector - GKU

Captain Xthea was very much angered by the retreat and the sacrifices made today by his superiors. He had always considered himself a patriot and while he hated how the government ran things he saw their methods as necessary. Without the dictatorship, the country wouldn't have been rebuilt so quickly after the Civil War and the Grand Revolution which took place decades ago. Without the dictatorship, there wouldn't have been the tremendous growth of the Krastikan Industrial base. Without the dictatorship, there would be no order in the Krastikan Systems any more. Without the dictatorship, there wouldn't have been a single united Krastikan state.

"Admiral Bresan, many of the remaining ships in the system have gathered." One of the bridge officers spoke to the Admiral as she read from a data-slate. "If the rest of the ships gather at this point and we remain unopposed we should have 1,275 starships at your command. The other defense fleets in the nearby systems are also moving to support our counter attack and liberate our homeworld from the Alliance Imperialists."

"Excellent. Excellent." Admiral Bresan remarked and waved off the Bridge officer. He turned and looked directly at Captain Xthea as he sat comfortably in his command chair. "Tell me Captain, what is your assessment of the situation? And do be honest with me."

Captain Xthea swallowed before speaking. "It shall be a glorious day for the UDF Navy as we come forth and liberate our homeworld from the Alliance Imperialists," he half-heartily retorted to the Admiral. He look around at the rest of the bridge crew and could sense the despair in the room. Every sailor knew that this counter-attack was going to be a suicide attack and that their deaths wouldn't even dent the Alliance Invasion into the GKU. This attack was to be made only to satisfy the ego of their ever incompetent Fleet Admiral who worried more about his failure than his subordinates. "How soon will the ships be assembled?" Captain Xthea asked the fleeing bridge crewwoman.

She turned and replied, "The rest of the ships will arrive shortly. I estimate that within 10 minutes the rest of the fleet will be here."

"No need to worry about that, Captain Xthea." Admiral Bresan scolded and waved away the bridge crewwoman again. "I have requested reinforcements from the other systems and they shall be here to assist us in our counter attack. This next attack will surely break the Alliance backbone and send them fleeing from the homeworld. I wonder if the Supreme Leader is watching us now. Watching us gather our strength as we bite our wounds and prepare to charge once more at the enemy." He gave a quick glance at his subordinate. "Is there something bothering you, Captain Xthea?"

"Nothing sir." Captain Xthea curtly replied as he continued watching the rest of the bridge crew work. If this counter-attack were to fail, which it would, he would ensure the survival of this ship at the very least. It is his duty as the captain of this vessel to safeguard his crew and ensure their survival.

The All-Union People's Congress Building - Krenpa - Krastika Prime

"Come on! Come on! Get going!"

In the vehicle yard of the All-Union People's Congress Building in the central plaza, a lone low-ranking Krastikan Party Official was trying to get the engine of a military truck to start up. He turned the key frantically as he saw the Alliance shuttles swoop overhead and banged his fist against the dashboard. His name was Ilians Mo'Rena, he was a recently graduated university student who made it into the Hejuc Party without bribes. Of course without these bribes he was regulated to a desk job and spent his first month filling in party membership cards at the Capital. Now here comes the second month on the job and the Galactic Alliance invades the Greater Krastikan Union. Just then the military truck sparked to life.

"Great! Move! Move!" He pressed the accelerator and the military truck sped forward and out of the motor pool.

When the invasion occurred he was told to stay at his desk by his superior. When a Civil Defense Volunteer asked him to head to the shelter, he insisted that he stay and so the volunteer reluctantly stayed with him. Unfortunately during the bombing a piece of the building fell and crushed the volunteer who had come to help him. Maybe this was the same truck the volunteer drove to help move the Party-

Just then on the road he could see soldiers. They weren't wearing UDF armor for sure. Then bullets started hitting the truck which caused Ilanis to immediately turned the wheel sharply. This motion only caused the military truck to swerve and flip over and over again due to the speed he made the turn. The truck rolled into a ruined cafe and came to a standstill. Ilanis crawled out of the truck on his belly and looked up to see the soldiers approaching him. He was wearing some sort of gray tunic and had a flag pin of the GKU on his left lapel signifying that he was part of the Hejuc Party. He immediately got up and raised his hands at the approaching soldiers. Many thoughts raced through his mind. Will they kill me? Are these the Alliance soldiers? What happened to everyone? Where is the Defense Forces?

Within the cruiser, KIA agents had transmitted a message to the Directive, stating that sapient life has been found indeed; but have not yet discovered their organic stature nor whether if they were human or synths. The message was decrypted in cryptic coding, in order to ensure that no 'organic' discover the true intentions of the current diplomatic mission. It would be seen as far too radical for some, to do such a thing across the galaxy...

After the reply was sent a squadron of Grimm Reaper fighters flew out of the hangars of the lead frigate and moved to interecpt the incoming shuttle and escort it back to the frigate. Valdau, Valdau System

After receiving the reply from the Board of Directors and the file about the Syrng Workers Union, Overlord Asir officially approved of a joint investigation between the Conglomerate Bureau of Security Fairs and Security Operations (SecOps- they function as both an intelligence agency and as the secret police of the Reformer regime). After a team was prepared for the investigation, a SecOps transport vessel left the orbital docks above Zaxa, their headquarters, and warped into the Valdau System.

After the transport landed near the Ascuvi Tower, a group of SecOps soldiers (who were all heavily armed and armored) followed by higher-ranking SecOps operatives (dressed in more formal attire, but armed as well) streamed out of the transport and entered the tower.

Engian system
World of 'Flevus'

The fabric space approximately several million kilometers from the planet's surface was driven asunder as a blinding white light erupted, forming a second Sun, from this lanced out a ship seemingly to tumble uncontrollably to the planet below. The vessel was beautiful, it's streamed lines meeting angular features, crystalline networks of elaborate design traced about the vessel along with various incandescent lights. Like the vessel had it's own cardiac system of crystalline blood vessels. From what one could imagine as the aft of the vehicle, for it seemed to possess no discernable fore or aft, streamed a trail of atoms. Much like a white hole, instead of exhaust or ions, rather the vessel left a trail of atoms in a seeming random manner.

As the vessel was about to make contact with the surface it disappeared in a second flash of blinding white light. Tearing open the planet's magnetic field and altering it's gravitational state for a split second. This was replaced by a third flash of white light as the vessel exited FTL within the planet's atmosphere. Causing an implosion of matter that ripped along the planet's surface with winds more than 100 miles per hour in force. Tides rose and fell rapidly. Compasses and other devices would fluctuate wildly as the planet's magnetic field stabilized. It's gravity momentarily disturbed as rain started to float and ascend upwards before returning to descend normally.

The ship at this point seemed to be in a full spin of chaos as it impacted the ground. Throwing up dirt a mile high into the air and leaving a fourteen mile trench approximately four six hundred meters deep. Crashing along mowing down trees and anything else that got in its way. Until finally, minutes after the ordeal started, it came to rest silently. No occupants got out, no signals or transmissions. In fact if one was to try and get readings from it they'd find it was made out of a base elements not found on the periodic table, the crystalline substance too would not show up in any type of Galactic records, and no discernable emissions beyond the trail of atoms. Like no electricity or other source of power would emanate from the vehicle.

High Administrator Ralph Hitch

The Moscow Metro Red Line wrote:Undisclosed Location - The Ruin
The Selinan Legal team had arrived in the Ruin in a small Selinan Navy fleet meant for quick travel. They requested to meet with the Professor in order to meet their client and get a better idea of what he did in the government facility.

Half a squad of Ruined soldiers, six in all, met the Selinians at the spaceport as they departed their starships. Pleasantries were exchanged, but the group quickly settled into blissful quiet as the legal team was escorted to Tranquillity's rather small jail. The High Administrator watched the proceedings from a Observation Room through the squad leader's eyes with an affinity vision gift, another of the gene and its derivatives' wonders. Professor Nadeheol resided in a cell adjacent, with the other half of the squad spaced throughout the corridors and the cell. The Lord of Ruin oversaw the matter as well from his penthouse in a starscraper elsewhere while his guests were occupied by television programs.

The Selinians' and their temporary entourage were closely examined by two Infiltrators at the doors of the flat and uninteresting building before being let past. Three of the soldiers disappeared into the intricate labyrinth of the jail's hallways.

Said hallways were grey, with just a tinge of green in places where Tranquillity's polyp came closer to the walls. The entirety of the jail's wall cavities were filled with the station's flesh, allowing it to always be watching. Ralph Hitch broke off the vision link as the legal team entered the room. The mental dysphoria quickly faded away, its effects dulled by practice.

The Ruin's High Administrator was, as usual, dressed in his High Tacticians' uniform. The cap was lying off to the side, left to rest on top of a desk. A business suit was decided against earlier, since his current clothing was considerably more show-off and imposing. Rectangular-rimmed glasses were nestled on the bridge of his nose, perfectly placed in the middle of his slightly less than middle-aged face. His expression was considerably softer of his superior, but more awkward than the coolness of Madeline Nadir. Not too handsome, but not too bad either.

"Welcome," he said, the honeyed words rolling off his tongue like syrup, an executive presenting to the board. "I am High Administrator Ralph Hitch. Professor Nadeheol is in the holding area adjacent to this room."

He turned and sent an affinity command to the bitek processor governing the computers and the Observation Room's utilities. A glass pane on the wall lost its tint, and the professor became visible. "Tranquillity, activate the voice communication channel, would you?" he called out to nowhere, looking around at nothing.

A peaceful voice played out from one of the many computer consoles dotted around the room. "Certainly, Administrator." Its voice warmed somewhat as it continued, "I am Tranquillity, the living and sentient space station and capital of the Ruin. A reminder: I am constantly observing this meeting. Attempting to trade secrets will result in the voice link with your client being severed, and you will have to discuss with your client through me. For the meantime, the attorney-client privacy privilege is suspended. Co-operate, and you might get it back. Administrator?"

Ralph inclined his head and looked through the pane of glass at Nadeheol. "Professor Nadeheol, your legal team has arrived."

Chal Orbit

As the ground battle on Chalsolis's surface continued, suddenly, a large wormhole opened up in the middle of the Covenant fleets (which were still in the process of splitting up). Over 500 ships were suddenly sucked into the wormhole; some were obliterated immediately due to the instability of the wormhole, while the rest were shot out of wormhole near Chal, the system's star. 150 ships were so close to the star that their shields became overloaded; they plunged deep into the star and were destroyed. The rest managed to make it to a safe distance in a much higher orbit around the star.

Temarch's dreadnought was among one of the ships that had been sucked into the wormhole, but the dreadnought survived and was able to move away from the star. "It's a trap! It was a fucking trap!" one of the officers yelled in the war room.

"This is the chief navigator," a voice said suddenly over the comms. "We have gotten the ship to a safe distance away from Chal and are preparing to warp back to Chalsolis."

"How the hell did we end up here?" Temarch asked.

"It looks like they opened up some kind of wormhole that teleported portions of the armada to this star."

Suddenly, an alarm sounded as numerous enemy ships were spotted by the scanners entering the space around the Covenant ships. "They are Maug-Lai ships," an officer said after looking over a map shown on a nearby screen. "Scanners are picking up 600 of them! This was certainly a trap!"

"We must move quickly," Temarch replied. She then switched on her comlink. "Attention all local forces, this is the High Admiral speaking. All surviving ships are to prepare to jump back to Chalsolis. We cannot allow them to destroy our forces piecemeal. All forces are clear to engage the approaching Maug-Lai ships. Enter your standard formations."

The Covenant ships were still far away from the approaching Maug-Lai forces, giving them time to enter their formations. The heavy ships began to fire on the Maug-Lai forces with their particle lances.

Chalsolis Orbit

Back at Chalsolis, the remaining fleets immediately began to bombard the Azure Fleet with their particle lances as they exited their wormholes, while pilots prepared to deploy in their ships. However, the naval personnel noticed something peculiar- Covenant ships (or at least the husks of them) were engaging them along with the Federation forces. The admirals immediately knew that that they must have been ships that surrendered in the last battle. They were arranged in a shell formation; behind them were heavier Federation ships that were also firing their long-range weaponry at the Covenant forces.

The Engian Confederation

A World In a Storm

Flevus
The Empire of Engio
Planetary Defense Center

Sirens screamed within the bunker, and the normal bright lights of the center were now flashing at even intervals. Rear Commodore Anwar walked through the white halls of the military complex with diction. Someone had just fracked up, and it was now his duty to clean up the mess. His body was augmented, like most Engis, and with his robotic eye he could already see a map of the planet. The vision had the world in blue, and marked out defense centers and orbital defense platforms around the planet. He was watching the mysterious craft fall from the heavens in a replay. He kept rewinding and rewatching, trying to make sense of the feed. He simply had no clue what the heck had happened. Reports from urban centers across the planet had one similar message: chaos and confusion.

Vessels in flight lost guidance and power over the planet, if only for brief seconds, but for low flying craft this was enough to allow them to strike the ground or close by objects. Electricity suffered from blackouts and brown outs, caused by the shifting field and the planet’s unusually high metallic composition in the mantle. Motorists and automated systems were confused as a result of the gravity and electrical mess. Costal centers and water-going vessels had suffered unspecified damage from rouge waves and tidal surges. Anwar checked the map of the world again. There were no report of hostile forces landing, or indeed enemy ships in orbit. So what had happened?

The sliding doors opened and the Rear Commodore entered the facility’s control center, a bank of mostly computers manned by Engis. Due to neural links, technically none of them had to be there. But it was better to sort out emergency functions between individuals. Already an officer had activated the planetary defense system, bringing the colony’s militia and navy onto a combat footing. Planetary defense satellites warmed up their weapons from their slumber, active soldiers prepared to man defensive positions next to spaceports and logistic depots. Siege Damage Control Units were being mobilized. The Commodore knew those would be used. With nothing more than a thought, he instructed that the teams would be put to use assessing the damage caused by this incident and await further orders. At the speed of light, they were given to the rest of the planet. The next task was to deal with the object that fell from the heavens. Taking a moment to go through the list of special response ground units, the Rear Commodore decided on the unit to respond. They were mere minutes from the crash site. Now the Engi turned to address the rest of this crisis.

Over the crash site, the transport’s engines howled as it slowly lowered itself to the surface. Despite the minutes that had passed by, the ground still caused water to boil off as a result of the impact. Wildfires burnt, caused by the friction and sheer impact of the object. Many trees in a several mile radius were simply blown down and snapped like twigs as a result of the impact. All black, with several logos representing the Empire, Confederation, and the plane’s identification numbers, the transport’s landing gear extended and slowly touched the ground. It landed several hundred meters from the object, on a mostly level surface. Its back door opened, allowing the crew to exit the shuttle. Wearying exoskeleton suits, the main bones of the Engis were reinforced with metal and hydraulic pistons. Each of the crew wore a helmet and visor that provided additional information about the scene in front of them. All of them were armed with large automatic rifles. In unison, they approached the target to establish a perimeter. None of the Engis had to speak, as their implants permitted communication wirelessly and silently. None of the team were disturbed by the hot soil or burning smell of the crash site. Slowly, they approached the target.

The roar of another transport could be heard, far off in the distance, as the team arrived at the mysterious craft. A perimeter was established by several men, and the rest began to scan the object for any sign of an entrance. They found no entrance, but sent their readings back to central command for further study. The roar of the new transport became almost defining as it touched down. The scientific team was now arriving after getting the all clear. Slowly, this team began to unpack its gear. A few souls even ventured to the craft to take photographs of its surface.

Flevus
The Empire of Engio

The crash site was eerily calm save for the crackle of wildfires and the boil of water. Thermal heat permeated the ground where the craft had slid, due toe the great speed and friction, but despite all this the alloy of it's hull was cool to the touch. The alloy and the crystalline substance woven into it would not show up on any periodic tables, a pinnacle of Ainarphem metallurgic skill, it was smooth and unblemished despite all the damage it should have accrued. Then, all of a sudden, a hatch formed from the hull. The metal and crystalline substance seeming to re-arrange itself of its own accord like a liquid. Rippling and forming into an entrance way. Beyond the threshold the Engians could make out the interior was also forming, rearranging, becoming something disturbingly similar. The inside was mimicking Engian architecture to a tee. Had it scanned Engian orbital stations on the way down? Using any data gleaned to come up with a mimicry of their aesthetics. But, it was not a perfect copy, their was no sign of Engian computer systems or neural networking. Whatever the ship could do, it could not or didn't have the time to copy the Engians beyond a superficial basis. Was the craft or whoever operated the vessel inviting them in? Was it a trap? There was no signs of one. It was dead quiet save for the crackle of wildfires slowly fading away.

There was the hall way, lit by the crystalline substance brightly and casting blue light, only the hallway, for no turns or intersections could be seen.

Krenpa | Krastika Prime | Krastika System | GKU Space

"This place is a fucking ghost town"

Nobody responded to Rookie, mainly because he was right. The capital city of the Krastikan homeworld: desolate. The men stepped over ruins and kept their eyes peeled to the surroundings, supported by an LA-15 Main Battle Tank and three LA-9 Light Hover Tanks. They brought serious firepower, for they believed this would be a serious fight, but there was nothing. It was as if the city had been abandoned for centuries, but the Marines weren't about to let their guard down. It had to be a trap. As they marched through the ruins of the Krastikan capital, Daniel could hear Captain Lester speaking on the comms. "Ey, Jamie, are you getting this?" He paused, likely listening to his response. "Yeah, there's fucking nothing. Has anyone reported this to fleet? No? Alright, gimme a sec". He stopped to switch comms. "5th Fleet, this is Captain Garith Lester: B Platoon, First Battalion, First Marine Expeditionary Unit. We're down here in the capital and... well, there's nothing." Another pause. "Alright, yes sir. Lester out."

"Where do you think the Reds even went?" asked Gornan, the unit's heavy weapons specialist. Daniel, who was standing only a few feet next to him, shrugged.

"Maybe they beat feet and ran when they heard the Marines were coming."

"I'd be scared of me too" Gornan said, chuckling.

Their conversation was interrupted by headlights - a vehicle speeding across the road, but it was quickly stopped as it smashed through the window of a building across the street. The Marines were quick to react - kneeling down or taking cover and raising their weapons, and they were ready for anything. Daniel looked over to Gornan, who shrugged. A few moments later, a Krastikan male stumbled out of the ruins of the building he had driven through and quickly through his hands up, and Gornan was the first to start yelling. "Keep your fucking hands up! You move a muscle and I'll kill you dead, motherfucker!"

"He can't understand you" Daniel said, standing up and beginning to slowly walk towards the man while keeping his rifle leveled. "Cover my back - he doesn't look like a combatant." Daniel walked foreword - his rifle leveled at his chest - and tried to remember the few phrases he read in a small book of basic greetings and sayings in the Krastikan language. Though his grammar and pronunciation was terrible, it was understandable. "Who are you?" He spoke in a more calm accent than his fellow Marines, but was firm.

Chal Orbit

"Great Warlord, the survivors have already reorganized and forming up." M'Cholka was surprised by the reflexes of these Cho'Dosan, a worthy foe for the Maug-Lai.

"All ships, fire at will once you have targets. Drive the survivors back into the sun!" As soon as the order went out, the Maug-Lai fired their own particle lances. The ships at M'Cholka's disposal were those of the Maug-Lai Armada, Maug-Lai ships equipped with some of the best Federation tech available. While some of the more powerful equipment proved incompatible with Maug-Lai tech and doctrine, others proved to be enhanced. Due to the large power capacity of Maug-Lai ships, Federation built Particle Lances were able to be fired off more frequently and at higher frequencies than their Federal navy counter parts. This also allowed them to use weapons that Federation ships couldn't.

M'Cholka's own ship came equipped with such a weapon. M'Cholka's capital ship, "Vengeance of the Handahar", had on it a Arc Cannon, a weapon that emits arcs of lightning at multiple targets for a short time, weakening shields and frying systems. While a powerful weapon, it is not without drawbacks. Even for Maug-Lai ships, Arc Cannons take up a lot of energy and are expensive to produce, thus limiting their numbers and use. After it is fired, the cannon cannot be fired for another hour, as it needs to recharge.

The "Vengeance of the Handahar" fired the Arc Cannon, lights flickering throughout the ship as the power surged. Multiple arcs of lightning found their targets in Covenant ships of various sizes, weakening their shields and frying systems. As the Arc Cannon finished firing, the other ships of the Maug-Lai fleet commence their attack. Hundreds of particle lances firing as one towards the enemy fleet.

Chalsolis Orbit

The Transports flew under the cover of the captured Covenant ships, speeding into the Covenant formation.

Krenpa - Krastika Prime - Krastika System - Krem'Ha Sector - GKU

Ilians could just understand what Daniel spoke to him. He couldn't speak or write whatever language Daniel spoke despite graduating as a foreign affairs major in his University. Anything that he knew of the outside galaxy was confined to what the Hejuc party told the GKU. No one was allowed to leave the GKU unless they had permission from several different government and party officials that they were loyal and 'ideologically pure' in thought. He did didn't want to make any sudden movements, so he kept raising his hands as he explained himself.

"I am Ilians Mo'Rena, a filing clerk for the Hejuc Party. I handle the Party's registration. I help applicants fill in their forums, accept or deny them, and hand out Hejuc Party Membership cards." He waited for Daniel's response as he looked at the rest of the Alliance soldiers. He wondered about the reason why the Defense Forces just pulled out. He had just seen them atleast an hour ago readying defenses and assembling their forces. Would they really just abandon their people here?

Undisclosed Location - The Ruin

The Selinian legal team consisted of only two Selinians. These two Selinians were Judicators from the Ministry of Public Welfare's Enforcement Division. Judicators are the intelligence agents of the MPWED. They are considered among the elite of Selinian Society with stable personalities and low C2s. To be a Judicator, one must be intelligent, calm and high in academics. They are given control of Enforcers, the powerhouse of the MPWED, and are given permission to punish enforcers for disobeying their orders. Of course being around latent criminals would cause immense psychological stress for Judicators, but there are many perks to alleviate such cons of the job.

Judicator Lhaerrh Donatra and Judicator Mhai Ehhelih were sent to assess the transfer of Professor Nveid Raedheol out of the Ruin and into MPWED custody. This was one of the few cases of Selinians abroad breaking foreign laws, so this was a new case for both of them. Judicator Lhaerrh Donatra was a model judicator in the MPWED. He was stationed in Rator III and was known for his no non-sense attitude and his pickiness for order and discipline in the Department. He has been a Judicator for 10 years, graduating as the top of his class and was eligible for the position of Judicator due to his score in the Placement Test. Judicator Mhai Ehhelih was a recent judicator in the MPWED. She just graduated from the National University with a degree in History and Law. Her score in the placement test exceeded the standards of the MPWED and this enabled her to chose between numerous government and company positions by the Prophet System. Despite all the positions that were offered, she chose to be a Judicator of the MPWED for personal reasons. They each wore a standard Judicator uniform which had the red symbol of the Ministry of Public Welfare on it's back. Judicator Donatra had a clean shaven face, a short black haircut and a stern look on his face while Judicator Ehhelih had a black short hime haircut and a relaxed look on her face.

Professor Raedheol was an older Selinian with a white short-hair and was wearing simple clothing when he was called. "May I ask who is here to see me?" The Professor asked curtly still looking down at the floor.

"Hello, Professor Raedheol, I am Judicator Lhaerrh Donatra of the Ministry of Public Welfare's Enforcement Division. I am joined by Judicator Mhai Ehhelih. We are here to ensure your safety and hand over to the MPWED. Cooperate with us and the Government of the Ruin and we will ensure that everything will go fine." Judicator Donatra spoke clearly and distinctly. He then turned towards the Administrator. "May I open an link to the Prophet System so that I may scan the Professor's PHI? It will greatly assess whether or not he is indeed guilty."

Daniel had an overall understanding of what the Krastikan said, and behind his mask that made the planet's air breathable, his face turned softer. He switched back to Alinori, and began to speak. "Just keep your hands up in the air" he said, keeping his weapon in his right hand and frisking the man with the other. After he was done, he yelled back to the Captain. "Cap! He's clear!" A few moments later, Captain Lester approached to Daniel's right and pulled cuffs out of his kit and pulled the Krastikan's arms behind his back.

"This guy looks like an intelligence officer, so we ought to take him in for interrogation." Lester pushed the Krastikan back towards Alliance lines. "Maxson, take point and keep the convoy moving up the road."

"Rodge." Daniel and the rest of the Marines continued to move foreword, still confused with the complete absence of any enemy combatants.

The Engian Confederation

A Voyage Amongst The Stars

Flevus
The Empire of Engio
Crash Site

The mysterious transformation of the strange craft took all those on the ground by surprise. Several squad members raised their arms at the shape shifting craft, preparing to greet their guests. The newly arrived scientists, wearing thin green robes, stood towards the back of the perimeter, setting up their scientific equipment. A few went to snap photos of the mysterious entry. Commander Noor looked at the door with suspicion. Like the rest of the craft, his thermal images showed the object to still be quite cool. Cycling through the electromagnetic spectrum, he could pick up no anomalies, besides for the craft itself. The creature knew that his sight and the sight of the other soldiers under his control were being streamed to planetary command, and being scrutinized. There were no alerts from planetary command of other vessels. That was a good sign, at least, the Engi thought to himself.

“Alpha team, break off from perimeter and head towards the door. We are going in to secure the vessel,” Noor relayed through his brain implant. The required Engis rapidly obeyed his orders, approaching the entry with a fair bit of caution. “Sierra Team,” he added, calling out the science team, “I need three to enter the craft.”

“Roger Alpha One, three science personnel will come with your party,” an unnamed voice replied back. No doubt it was the chief science officer from the nearest lab, still trying to register what the heck was going on.

“All teams, keep Defense posted and report any life-form sightings,” the Commander added. Within three minutes the team was ready to board the vessel. It was time to go in. Two by two six soldiers entered the craft, sticking close to the bare walls. The unusual light was compensated by the implants within their bodies, but for the scientists the light was quite eerie. The crew continued their plunge into the heart of the alien vessel.

The Afzal System
2,587th Annual Solar Regatta

The committee boat sat on the corner of the starting line, slowly drifting through space. It was in orbit above the red giant. This system was home to one of the oldest worlds in the Confederation, and the system reflected its age. All of the rocky planets and moons in the system were colonized, home to sprawling cities, spaceports and massive defense stations. Normally traffic was mostly limited to commerce vessels and miners. Today, there was a large cluster of civilian ships grouped to watch the unfolding spectacle. The starting line consisted of three buoys, or satellites and the committee boat. Each sat like a rectangle at the time of the start, and each were billions of miles away from each other. At the start of the race, it would form a perfect rectangle for a brief second, allowing the race committee to tell if ships where over the line, and thus incur a penalty.

Solar sail racing started a few thousand years after the Engian people left their home planet. Originally fleeing their home planet with nuclear pulse technology, a few vessels escaped under sail power. One such world, Afzal, commemorated this event by holding a race around the system. It took months to complete, and since the first steps into interstellar space, solar sailing had had quite the upgrade. With the discovery of FTL technology, and the creation of the warp field to mold spacetime, creative souls created a new sport, and made solar sailing viable. The “Dagger-Board”, a modified FTL drive that holds onto spacetime like a planet bound dagger board for sailing. The result permits the sails to generate lift, propelling the craft forward while not sliding out into interstellar space.

Much like its planetary bound cousin, solar sailing was modified for the reality of three dimensions. The starting line was modified for this new reality, and marks reflected the vastness of space. Long were the days of starting next to the committee boat. Now, the committee boat was a manned spectator boat and mark. Other spectator craft accompanied the RC, wishing to watch the start and sometimes trail the fleet.
Unlike the minute starting sequences on the water, solar sailing had one day to get into position. The idea was to predict the forecast of solar winds, and get to where more of the wind was. Of course, right of way rules like old still applied, but the distances were much greater. Still, maneuvering sails several hundred kilometers wide and long made turning on a dime quite tough. Teams of solar forecasting experts and orbital mechanic teams worked around the clock in races for the best outcome. But they could only advise. The sailors had to do everything on their own.

With a shriek over the VHF channels, the race committee began its preparation to start the race. Within several seconds all vessels heard the hail. Five shrieks followed. After a brief pause, another long shriek filled the void. Race Committee to Racing Fleet, that is your one-day preparatory signal, stand by for twelve hour signal. The radio became silent. The race was afoot.

Ralph proffered a compliant smile in reply before turning to face the prisoner. "Of course, Lhaerrh," he said warmly, pronouncing her name almost perfectly. The use of first name, no title was completely intentional. A gesture that served as a reminder that he, Ralph Hitch, was there as an overseer rather than an assistant regardless of what his timid appearance suggested. "Tranquillity?"

"A link is being provided," the habitat said in its unwavering tone. While it talked and listened, a command was sent to the bitek processors of the SDs that orbited itself, and several wormhole drives switched on. A zero-width wormhole was created, and through that a command was sent to another satellite that opened another, and so on until a connection request was sent to the Prophet System in one of the ASR's own territories.

A small blinking light appeared on one of the computer consoles scattered around the room.

"Your link is active. Transmit your message however you wish."

Ralph continued smiling as he opened an affinity avenue with Tranquillity.
This process would be much more efficient if they had affinity, he mused privately.
I don't think the ASR would want a method in which criminals could conspire without fear of being observed, the habitat replied objectively.
I suppose. Monitoring the connection?
Of course. The Lord of Ruin has told me to investigate it it once this scan begins.
Alright. Carry on then.

Flevus
The Empire of Engio
Crash Site

As the Engians moved into the bowels of the vessel they'd see as they went the ship was changing before their eyes. Like flowing electrum it would shape, change color, and formulate a copy of Engian aesthetics. Like the ship itself was altering itself for them. The slight curvatures indicated it was guiding them towards something. Towards a hollow point in the center of the vessel. Where upon the Engian aesthetics would form into a circular chamber. Mimicking a ships bridge, albeit roughly, and none of the fake consoles would work. It was again just mimicry at it's finest. In the center of the fake-Engian-bridge was a woman, tall, humanoid (looks exactly like a human) laying on her back like she had abruptly fallen. Multiple wounds, lacerations, stabs, and a few appearing from punctures probably as a result of some firearm. Though no shells or bullets would be lodged in her body. She was breathing, apparently, and wore tight fitting armor the same color and metal as the ship itself. The armored plates where tarnishes, blackened as if by fire, and damaged in a variety of ways. But curiously enough it seemed to be very slowly repairing itself on a Nano molecular level. The armor undoubtedly had the same ability as the ship to change it's state based on some protocol. Perhaps adapted to the woman's neurology or brainwaves? Though those two where curiously absent. Despite the fact she seemed to be carrying out normal biological functions without being conscious. Maybe she too, like the ship, was mimicking other life?

Then just a moment later, her eyes fluttered open, and she began to rise. Blood, or what passed for it, seemingly mixed with gold and silver, spattered about the floor and pool around her. She made two steps before she crashed into a fake-Engian-console, clutching it for stability, only then did she turn to regard the Engians. She locked eyes with them. As if regarding intruders into some private sanctuary. Her dark eyes and brown hair reaching well past her shoulders into the small of her back.

Ulis had nodded, gesturing a command to the Korosian Guards; changing from a square formation to one of parallel lines, in order to march and defend in a defensive manner in an acute hallway. The Korosian soldiers stationed by the shuttle were to guard the craft, their weapons at ease. They continued to hold a slight distrust to the people that had commanded the frigate, not knowing their intent nor their interests for the Korosians. They appeared surprised and excited, thoughts that the Korosian soldiers had on the crew.

"The Greater Krastikan Union is a democratic republic of the Krastikan, Khorasmians and the Kleandros peoples in perfect harmony. There is enough food for everyone, there are enough jobs to go around and the people are satisfied with their government." Colonel Kreul replied pridefully. "There are numerous safeguards in place and social wealth programs that ensure that our citizens are always satisfied with their government. We do not appreciate those who exploit others for their own personal gain. These Warlords of the military, economy and politics do not exist because the people are in charge of the government."

Of course what the Colonel said was the official line of the Hejuc Party. He was one of the mouth pieces of the party and always made speeches in the public praising the glory of the GKU and how it was better than any other nation in the galaxy.

Kotz mentally groaned. <A.k.a., communists. Blowhard communists at that.>

He smiled and replied, "My, your government sounds so efficient and competent. Your people must be bursting with happiness and national pride!"

"Let me tell you about the Refounded Principality. We are a military autocracy, with a representative sub-government for each member species so that all of the needs and concerns of all of our citizens are heard. The safety and well-being of the people is always at the forefront of our brave and well equipped soldiers' minds. We constantly strive to make certain that our citizens are in the jobs that they are best suited for by offering voluntary aptitude tests. With our space habitats, we have unlimited space for housing and agriculture so there are no homeless or hungry citizens. The military government has no corruption, because all of us are focused on the greater good of our nation," Kotz finished.

<This pandering is making me ill. While everything I said is true, emulating his tone is sickening.>

"Your thoughts, Colonel?"

Niels was surprised by the question. A foreign representative probing into the internal politics of a nation... well, it wasn't that rare. But still odd.

"Why, I'm well-known in the United Nations to be a member of the Social-Democratic Workers' Front. The only reason why I'm still around is because the Secretary-General values my experience."

After a short pause, Niels decided to ask a question of his own.

"I take it that you're interested in the politics of the United Nations?"

"Very interested." Kitz smiled again. "It's actually my job. I'm the head of Z.I.D., the Zeon Intelligence Division."

"Part of my official duty here is to compile more information for the psychological profiles of the different nation's diplmats and to judge the political relations between them. For instance, the GKU and Alliance's representatives aren't getting along. I wonder if they have been informed yet that their nations are now officially at war." She shrugged. "I am also getting updates from field agents even as we speak. Such as the agents watching the Tagali-Covenant border war, among other things."

After what appeared to be a brief moment of consideration, Kitz continued.

"Though I mainly gather this information because I enjoy observing the organics and their methods."

Planet SR-18346-P2

Alien archaeological excavation site

As soon as the shuttle set down on the site and its ramp dropped, a man quickly exited and headed straight for the Excavation Coordinator's prefabricated office. Dr. Vitya Yegor Pajari, a human civilian archaeologist from the Xeno Research Institute on the planet Xeslade (SR-3846-P5). He was completely ecstatic that the military had approved the institute's request to send an observer and furthermore that HE had been chosen for the honor.

As he walked to the office, he passed several digger-type mobile workers being maintenanced. Their giant, shovel-like hands were worn and being replaced for the next stage of digging.

Upon reaching the building, he knocked, heard "Enter", then went inside. He walked up to a man studying a chart, who's back was turned.

The doctor announced himself. "I am Dr. Vitya Y. Pajari, of the Xeno Research Institute. I presume you are the Excavation Coordinator, RFJ-6864?"

The man turned around at the question. His cybernetic eye began to visibly adjust and focus as it scanned the doctor. "Yes, that is indeed my position and my name. Welcome, Dr. Vitya Yegor Pajari. For ease of communication, please call me by my nickname, 'Raf'."

Dr. Pajari inwardly winced. He could never quite get used to the slightly inhuman appearance of clones.

The Coordinator continued, "As for the dig. We have uncovered a great deal of ancient alien buildings and tech scraps. For instance, just recently we..." He paused as he received a message via neural uplink.

He smiled and said, "Come with me, Doctor. We just found a new ruin. Preliminary scans say it is extensive."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Excavation Specialist GRD-3756 (Grud) manipulated his mobile worker's massive hands, easily scooping aside another dozen tons of dirt. After alerting the Coordinator, he had set to work unearthing the ruin. Scans show it as about 30 meters underground and descending possibly 150 meters into the planet. There was also a mysterious reading near the bottom. However; soil composition was preventing high-power scans, so more detailed observations would have to be made in person. By now another mobile worker had shown up and was helping with the dig. Soon they were close.

By the time Raf and Pajari reached the site just as the entrance was uncovered. Grud powered down his mech and approached the two.

"Sir, the entrance is now uncovered, so we can send a party at anytime. But as deep scans were inconclusive, we don't know what is down there. I suggest a fully equipped 'Spelunker' unit be sent."

Coordinator Raf replied, "Granted. Also, I will personally lead the expedition. Doctor, care to accompany us? I must warn you, though, it could be dangerous."

Dr. Pajari is ecstatic. His love of archaeology was great, far beyond the desire for safety. "I heartily accept your generous offer

They continued to hold a slight distrust to the people that had commanded the frigate, not knowing their intent nor their interests for the Korosians. They appeared surprised and excited, thoughts that the Korosian soldiers had on the crew.

Knight Captain Yeenna'Luma nodded and led them to a barracks corridor, however this corridor was vacant as this was "guest" quarters. But never the less the rooms where still big enough to house a single squad of soldiers

Ascuvi Tower - Valdau
Valdau System
The Conglomerate

When the investigators from the Covenant arrived, the Conglomerate Bureau of Security Affairs knew to expect them. The Bureau helped their craft covertly land in one of the Tower's hidden hangar bays. The Ascuvi Tower was just one of many CBSA monitoring stations as well as bases. The Conglomerate member in question who would be working with the Cho'Dosan investigators would be none other than Operative Thaeuvi. Thaeuvi walked over to the investigators, along with various Lyvirk guards and Security Forces.

"Hello, there. I am Operative Thaeuvi of the Conglomerate Bureau of Security Affairs. I, along with two other primary Operatives and three investigative teams, have been assigned to work with you in this endeavor. I hope we discover who is responsible for the assassination of your diplomat. I would like to inform you that I am in charge of the Security Forces and the various investigators here, as well as being the higher-ranking Operative of this task force from the Conglomerate end. I will be working with whichever of you is the highest ranking to coordinate this investigation so that it runs as smoothly as possible.", the Operative said. Thaeuvi was a female Syrng; and generally speaking, Operatives of the CBSA tended to have assigned names rather than using their actual ones. Operative Thaeuvi looked around; she seemed to be looking for the Cho'Dosan in charge to step forward.

"A Great Patriotic War"

Krenpa - Krastika Prime - Krastika System - Krem'Ha Sector - GKU

Ilians was confused as the Alliance officer suddenly hand-cuffed him and dragged him away. "I'm not a soldier! I'm not a soldier!" He yelled as he was being taken away. He was terrified of what was going to happen next now that the Alliance had caught him. Will he be tortured? Will he be shot? Is this the last time he will see his family and friends again. As he was giving into despair the air-raid sirens suddenly stopped.

The remaining speakers crackled and then a very familiar voice began speaking. "This is Party Security Colonel Kreul Mo'Sevigh. Welcome to the Krenpa City, the capital city of the Greater Krastikan Union. Observe the destruction YOU brought unto our land." Ilians immediately recognized the voice as the renown Colonel Kreul. However he couldn't understand him for some reason, but he spoke the same tongue as the invaders. "Yes, I can speak your tongue and understand it entirely. As the Commander of the 1st Krastikan Guards Regiment, I will ensure the safety you. I fight not only for the Kratsikan, Kleandros, and Khorasmian peoples. But for the liberation of all species. I urge you, soldiers of the Alliance to turn on your oppressors and join us in the liberation of your country from your own warlords. You have three minutes to lay down your arms." After the Colonel spoke, there was silence and the speakers became quiet.

Undisclosed Location - The Ruin

Judicator Donatra deliberately ignored acknowledging the fact that High Tactician Hitch used his first name and not his full title. Whether it was the High Tactician's intention to make him look like a child or his friend was up to speculation. But he didn't have time to deal with these discrepancy, he needed their cooperation to ensure the Professor's safety. It would be embarrassing if a well-respected professor like Professor Raedheol was to be discerned as a latent criminal and thus applicable for Selinian law. He heard a click from his watch, the omni-directional feminine voice spoke towards him in Selinian. "Connection to the Prophet System is established. Idenfitiying user. Please hold. Good Morning, Judicator Lhaerrh Donatra." He then pointed his watch at the direction of the Professor. "Identifying target's PHI. PHI is grass green and C2 is 91. No enforcement action required." He lowered his watch and turned towards Judicator Ehhelih who was standing right next to him.

"The Professor's PHI and C2 are near unhealthy levels but we can conclude that it is due to the stress he is in." He spoke quietly to his subordinate. She looked up at him and nodded.

"I guess the real question is how the Professor was able to get into a government facility without anyone noticing." She responded curiously.

"Professor Raedheol." Judicator Donatra turned and spoke directly to the Professor. "How did you end up at the government facility? Your trip was supposed to last for three days and you were supposed to be at their equivalent of the National University. Please do tell me the details."

The Professor grunted and began speaking, "I did arrive at the University and I did make a guest lecture and I planning to stay on campus for the rest of the trip but another academic staff invited me to the facility. I was fascinated by their technology that I wanted to gain an understanding of it. Little did I know that it was a trick to get me to arrested and let me spill our secrets of our technology."

Judicator Donatra grined. "Let us not accuse our friends yet of espionage. Please start from the beginning of your stay at the Ruin from the moment you stepped off of the ship carrying you to the Ruin."

As Donatra continued talking with the Professor, the connection to the Prophet System back at the ASR was still online. When Tranquility continued to monitor the connection, it began to feel increased barriers to monitoring and then a emotionless and distinct feminine voice was heard. "We can see why the Professor was so interested in your technology. If you are attempting to access our system from the outside, I too am monitoring YOUR connection to us as well. But since we and you may be both blocking each other's access from any other point in this connection and network, this will be an interesting encounter until we are cut off. You are both living and nonliving. It is intriguing."

The Colonel laughed loudly for a few seconds before wiping a tear off his eye. "I must admit your country sounds so familiar to our own before the GKU came to power. But I must be forward with you so that you do not perish in the coming fire. You should relinquish your power as turn away from your own warlords before the masses see through your own disguise. A military autocracy? We used to have the same government for hundreds of years before the mass got tired of it and overthrew their Warlords." He leaned closer to his misguided counterpart, "Military governments are only last as long as there is something to be won. For your sake, I hope you turn away from this path before your body is dragged around the streets and the soldiers aim the weapons you provided at their oppressors." He then smiled after his statement.

Of course this was meant to be provocative. The Colonel knew that soft words could not stir up passion into people.

The Engian Confederation

The Empire of Engio
Crash Site

The squad slowly made their way through the vessel, approaching its heart with a foreboding mood. The scientists were fascinated in the hull, and how it managed to shift before their eyes, but many had never seen a combat situation. They coped by cowering behind the soldiers who were armed and experienced in life threatening situations. Commander Noor was too busy to be distracted by the shifting ship. He was bent on making sure they were not ambushed within the vessel. In his vision a status report came from those still outside the vessel. All was clear. Nothing had moved, there were not enemy vessels in orbit. Despite feeling somewhat relived, he was not out of the woods. Not yet, anyways.

The science team kept scanning the vessel and sending its data to the waiting team outside. The trained soldiers kept their eyes trained on the corridor, waiting for any hostiles. After several minutes of walking, they came to the bridge.

Commander Noor told the party to stop at the entrance to the bridge. Being exposed, anything could be behind the terminals. He instructed the soldiers to clear the room. He took a moment to look at the bridge. It appeared genuine, but it was off. The scans from the science team proved that the consuls were for show, but the details were just so…

That’s when his display notified him of the woman. Quickly, he turned to see the creature with his own eyes. As he did so, the woman keeled over the terminal. Within seconds his implants identified the wounds. Half a second later, he had already alerted Planetary Defense Command to bring medical units for the passenger. Noor ran to the woman and laid her down on the floor. He took a moment to examine her wounds further. The scientists continued their work, as several squad members took up position around the room.
Noor tried to stop the bleeding as the medical team arrived. A screcher was brought with a fully dressed medical team, with biohazard scubs. Noor looked over the amour and admired its scars. Clearly, something happened. Or, it was a rough landing. Either way, the medics were preparing to load the woman onto the stretcher.

The woman was compliant as the Engians began to try attempts at helping her. But the amount of wounds was telling, slowly, she reached up a hand and touched the Engian. A pulse through their enhancements registered as a voice to the Engian brain. STASIS. TIME. HEAL. It was largely incoherent but those three words sounded in Engians, perhaps she had tapped into the Engian brain to learn their language and send a message they could understand, after all what is language but a bunch of electronic pulses in sequence to a brain in regards to comprehension. Her eyes fluttered and began to slowly close, until she passed from consciousness. The woman needed to be put in stasis of some kind, given time, perhaps then she may over come her wounds. Indeed, she did show some signs of healing, but it was not quick enough to stop the amount of injuries from taking it's toll on her. Closer examination would reveal numerous internal injuries, such as bleeding, broken bones and cartilage. Her body showed utterly astonishing capabilities in perfectly repairing damage in record time, but the amount of damage was too much, she was very slowly losing the battle.

- GALACTIC ALLIANCE -

Krenpa | Krastika Prime | Krastika System | GKU Space
Commander Mason Ashur

The city couldn't have been worse than before the Alliance showed up, if the stories Mason heard were true. His father used to tell him about the Galactic Alliance and other nations - the good and the bad - and he always mentioned the Covenant and the Krastikan Union when on the topic of aggression and oppression. He, and indeed most others in the Galaxy, believed that their "Supreme Leader" was a tyrant to starved and murdered his people, and there was plenty of proof to back up these claims. While in the past, the Alliance has turned a blind eye to the trespasses of the Krastikan Union, the increase in threats and reports of Civilization Crimes has force their hand, and they had to act.

Mason Ashur and his master, Ishmael Garis, had been deployed to Krastika Prime by the Psaec Order to assist Alliance Military forces in liberating the population. During wartime, the peacekeeping Psae's become Generals and leaders on the battlefield, and are an invaluable asset. Mason's master, General Garis, was leading the invasion of Krastika Prime's surface, and Commander Mason Ashur would assist. The two stood up in a gunship filled with Marines as it descended towards the scorching city, and Garis would look over to speak to his apprentice. "Mason, we're going to have to split up once we reach the surface. You'll be joining the men moving towards the military headquarters, while I'll lead the men marching on their capitol building. Consider this a test of your abilities, young one."

Mason grunted. "I sense something... odd. There's no reason for the Krastikan military to just abandon their capital without a fight - it doesn't make any sense. I think this is a trap."

"You may be right" said Garis. "Though, this doesn't mean we don't have a mission to complete. If we want to control Krastika Prime, we need Krenpa." He paused. "I have faith in you, Mason. You can do this." Mason nodded gratefully, and the shuttle came to a halt about ten feet above the street, where dozens of Marines with tanks and armor were marching. "This is your stop. Good luck." Mason made a sarcastic salute, and dropped out of the ship. He wore a uniform similar to theirs, but was stripped of some of it's accessories to make it lighter. Being a Psionic, he had no need for the exosuit, nor the multiple layers of body shielding. He didn't wear a helmet, though he had a small, clear mask the covered his nose and mouth. Strapped to his back was an SMG, and on his belt, a blue energy sword. When he landed, many Marines were startled, mainly since a normal person jumping from that height without an exosuit would have shattered his legs. Mason, however, quickly stood up and approached the squad's Commanding Officer.

"Commander Mason Ashur, here to back up your advance to the HQ."

The CO seemed skeptical of the young Psae, but Mason tried not to take any offense. "Well, commander," the word was searing - nobody respected the position if you were Psionic. "As you probably know, there's no sign of the UDF anywhere. We ran into some Intelligence Officer a ways back, but he's not a trooper." The CO looked around. "Looks like all the civvies are gone too, which is even weirder. I can't help but feel like this is a tr-"

"This is Party Security Colonel Kreul Mo'Sevigh." a voice interrupted, coming from loudspeakers all over the city. The Marines stopped dead in their tracks. "Welcome to the Krenpa City, the capital city of the Greater Krastikan Union. Observe the destruction YOU brought unto our land." Odd, he was speaking Alinori. You have three minutes to lay down your arms."

A Marine a few feet ahead of Mason grunted and yelled back, though it was unlikely. "Free US? From our warlords!?" He looked around, seeing if the others caught this as well. "How 'bout I free your skull of brain tissue grandpa!"

"Layven!" the CO snapped. The Marine turned and shrugged. "Let's move, boys!" Mason and the Marine Convoy continued to advance towards the military HQ, which was only about 100 yards away.
