Pers'Av's ship would deorbit, enter the atmosphere of Sayran and followed the escorts towards the Board Complex, the capital building of Sayran. As his ship touched down on a nearby landing pad, Pers'Av would order his guards to remain on the ship, as he did not expect to be harmed during this meeting (though if he needed them, he would contact them). He was armed with a laser pistol for personal protection. As he exited the ship, Pers'Av saw several Lyrvirks step forward, who appeared to look exactly like Cho'Dosans. Pers'Av knew that this was a Conglomerate formality, but it made him rather uncomfortable; he preferred to see them for who they really were. One of the Lyrvirks stepped forward and spoke in fluid Cho'Dosan (which also disturbed him), and he took the transceiver that was offered.

Surrounded by guards, they entered the Complex and walked to the Grand Room, where many Conglomerate officials were seated. At the end of the table was a large holoscreen, where the eleven Directors of the Conglomerate appeared. As usual, they were silhouetted and their voices were distorted.

"Before we begin, you are aware of our upcoming war with the Galactic Alliance, correct?" Pers'Av asked. "The Reformer Administration believes that you could...benefit greatly from this war."

Sayran - Sayran System
Core Systems
The Conglomerate

The Directors in front of Pers'Av were silent for a moment; the various officials and such conversing in Syrng, having disabled their translators. Director Four raised a hand, silencing the officials in the room. Four appeared to be looking at Pers'Av as he prepared to speak, the other Directors waiting to see what Four had to say in response to the Cho'Dosan diplomat.

"Ambassador Pers'Av, you say you have an upcoming war with the Alliance? I see... yes, your government is correct. We would profit greatly from the war. If you would like, I propose a Special War Treaty; wherein, if the Covenant gets into a war, we supply economic, technological, and industrial support. You know we are effective and fast when it comes to these areas; we could even, if you gave us some of your tech, mass-produce some of your technologies and such for you in this time of war, allowing you to focus on the war effort and keeping food on your people's tables at the same time.

But if the Conglomerate gets into a war, the Special War Treaty would still come into effect; the Covenant would be required to assist the local UCAB forces in the system or systems being invaded, as well as offer military and perhaps economic support for the Conglomerate as we deal with those attacking us. This Special War Treaty that I propose only comes into effect when one or both of us are at war, of course; otherwise, only whatever treaties and agreements we come up with, here and now, will be in effect until renewal, or if there are renegotiations. All in favor?
", Four finished, raising his hand. Five other Directors rose their hands, giving Four's 'special war treaty' the majority approval. Four nodded, now waiting for if the Ambassador would accept such a treaty. Of course, the Special War Treaty almost blatantly gave the Conglomerate a huge amount of economic power with the Covenant.

If the Covenant was at war, it meant profit and a boost in industry and power of the Conglomerate, as well as boosting - however slightly - how much the Covenant may need something like the Conglomerate. If the Conglomerate was at war, they still profited and were well defended by Covenant forces, on top of being able to more easily defend themselves and yet again boost their economy. The Conglomerate would gain much more as merely a regional power than the Covenant; but at the same time, the Covenant might need the industrial and economic support offered by this Special War Treaty. Director Four seems to have trapped Pers'Av in a tough situation. Of course, Pers'Av could make a counter-offer or try to negotiate the treaty to change slightly if he wished, and none of the Directors could tell if he was going to do such.

"Ambassador, one more thing before you decide. If you agree to this treaty, all sales and trades are final. Even in the event of... defeat, we get to keep any profits and traded materials given to us. There will be no refunds, so to speak.", Director Seven suddenly said. Four looked at Seven curiously, but then nodded in understanding; most of the Directors raised their hands in agreement. That made the deal even harder to decide on - because it implied, even if the Covenant was somehow beaten, that they would owe any moneys, trade materials, etc. promised in return for any supplies that the Covenant had ordered. Meaning, depending on how much they ordered, the Conglomerate would keep sending such supplies and things even after the war was over, and would still require moneys and trade materials in return at their full prices. Such a thing, in the event of loss and economic or military weakening, might crush a war-torn economy if they over-ordered. The Directors were likely entirely aware of this fact.

A soft, yet chilling snow had begun to cover much of the landscape of Siberius, a planet already consumed by the tundras and presence of synthetic beings. The mountains, wide and cumbersome had made it an excellent choice for covert operations. Within the mountains, silos meant for long-range ballistic projectiles, many carrying destructive nuclear warheads unused since the beginnings of the Nation.

Surrounding the mountains were small, yet elevated plots of tundra, the few trees covering these areas bringing in a sense of calm. Contrasting in the usual white, the trees held an abudance of leaves with a pink hue. Siberius as it was was a "winter wonderland".

Inside a covert military facility found near the mountains, a group of diplomats and military human personnel dressed in Standard BDU had been discussing the subject of their soon-to-be expedition. They were guarded by a squad of Korosian-Human Infantry whom would serve as temporary protection until they headed toward the Korosian Cruiser.

"Regarding the recent tests, it is clear that we are too far from any civilization. Acknowledged a Robotic Being, within a standard Trooper body. The diplomats around the mahine agreed, though some of the military officers had grunted. Failure of results was something frowned upon in the KIF.

Once they entered the large and expansive cruiser, they were left behind by the squad, saluting as the craft slowly made its way out of the port and into the abyss of space. Their official mission would be search for others, and learn from them. In reality, their goal was far more radical and widespread...

"Are you sure that it is not one of ours?"

"Yes sir"

"Where you able to detect any messages coming form it?"

"No sir"

"Mm......send a message to the nearest Battlegroup and tell them to move to these coordinates"

"Yes sir"

The officer walked away leaving the captain by herself to continue looking at the silhouette of the unknown ship approaching their borders. This ship confused her as it seemed large enough to be heavier then a NEF cruiser but lighter then Super Dreadnought. Granted NEF ships where smaller then most nations ships however where very well armored and heavier. However what mostly disturbed her was why is this ship here and what is its intentions.

- GALACTIC ALLIANCE -

Krastika Prime | Krastika System | GKU Space

"Fleet, all foreword - watch the flanks!"

Admiral Titus' voice echoed throughout the Alliance Fleet as it moved in to engage the UDF. "Break their line! I want boots on the ground today!" With the Phalanx leading the assault, followed by hundreds of Dreadnoughts and supported by various classes of Battleships, would pack unleash overwhelming firepower onto the enemy fleet while Frigates and other Battleships, along with Destroyers, broke off from the main fleet to engage the ships who were attempting to flank the Alliance Fleet. Carriers unleashed swarms of fighters and bombers onto the enemy. While likely outnumbered, the Alliance Navy was far more advanced than their Krastikan counterparts, and their use as heavy vessels as a spear meant for a powerful foreword assault, while lighter vessels with significant firepower supported from the flanks. Indeed, the Alliance Navy often relied on speed and overwhelming force to destroy the enemy, which would be more than possible for them given that they had the element of the surprise.

In the center of the assault, headed by the Hyperdreadnought Phalanx and many heavy vessels, the Alliance Navy looked to smash through the UDF's line with sheer force and firepower alone. Heavy weapons were focused on enemy Dreadnoughts and flagships, though they took a keen interest on carriers and support vessels, who also carried a weight in the battlefield. On the flanks, Frigates, Cruisers, and Destroyers engaged the flanking enemy ships in an attempt to drive them away from the Fleet. The hope was that they could inflict enough damage to force the UDF into retreat, and if they would not, then annihilate their fleet. The goal was to destroy as much of their armed forces as possible so that when they inevitably resorted to guerrilla warfare, their assets would be severely deteriorated and their war effort strained. In the end, the Alliance hoped for a quick, clean victory so that a new Republic could be established, and the Krastikan people could finally be free.

Forklis Space

<Are we ready?>
<Yes>
<Then off we go>

And with that thought, tens of colony ships were launched. Launched into the void to grow the Forklis, and protect from any disaster. To grow, survive, and spread more. The ships going off followed similar procedure to what was done with the gala shuttle. It was after all, the usual way to do things. But this time, the ships were far larger. With millions of workers and a queen per ship, these ships were far more impressive, and far more deadly to those who might get in their way. Entire planets went dark temporarily to fuel the transgates. The experimental transgate power sources were not up to the task. That would have to be fixed.

But the launches were not without incident. A few, not a lot, were destroyed. Whether this was from asteroids, power overloads, or something else, it would be found and fixed. And The Forklis would march on and on.

Sayran System, Conglomerate Space

Pers'Av frowned as the Directors finished speaking. This "Special War Treaty" would give the Conglomerate far too much control over the Covenant economy. His plan had been to offer the Directors part of the spoils of war (captured Alliance worlds, technology, and even Alliance slaves) if they provided economic and industrial support for the Covenant. Most concerning was the fact that the Conglomerate would accept no refunds if this treaty was activated; if the Covenant was defeated, they would still have to pay the Conglomerate for any excess war material they purchased, which could devastate an already exhausted economy. Pers'Av, like many people in the Covenant, didn't trust the Conglomerate, believing their only motive to be profit regardless of the risk to even their closest allies. Overlord Asir himself didn't care for the Conglomerate and only avoided conquering them outright because he believed they would be of some use to the Covenant war effort. However, the Directors had gone too far now.

"This is not the deal I or our government had in mind," Pers'Av began. "If you will not even have your military assist in the war with the Alliance, why should we pledge military assistance in the Conglomerate's wars? What is most concerning is that, in the event that the Covenant is defeated, you intend to cripple our economy by forcing the Covenant to pay back any excess materials that had been previously ordered but not delivered yet and refuse to allow your closest ally to request a refund."

Pers'Av now had a rather angry look on his face. Few things enraged him most than attempts to screw over his nation and his people. He stood up, looking right at the Directors. "This treaty is asinine and outright predatory! You know that we will need substantial amounts of war material for this conflict, yet you try to screw us over and profit off of your closest ally as much as possible! This is outright treachery!"

Chalsolis Orbit

After two days of travel, all 2,400 ships arrived out of warp in a high orbit around Chalsolis. As the ships warped in, they found Chalsolis to be barren of any orbital defenses.

"Scanners are picking up nothing in the orbital space around Chalsolis," an officer would say to Grand Admiral Temarch; she had moved to the war room of her dreadnought, anticipating a fight.

"They must have retreated further into the Federation," Temarch replied.

"However..." another officer would begin; the results from a scan of the entire system would appear on one of the overhead screens. Sirens blared from the screen as numerous Federation ships were spotted. "Our scanners have detected 1,130 Federation ships hiding in the asteroid belt at the edge of the Chal system."

"A sizable force indeed," Temarch replied. She looked down at her comlink, preparing to give an order. "I suspect a trap. They have been waiting for us to arrive this entire time."

She then switched her comlink on and spoke into it. "Attention all ships, this is the Grand Admiral speaking. All fleets are to organize and then split off individually- with the enemy now hiding at the edge of the system, we must avoid becoming a giant target. All ships are to also prepare for immediate combat. Ground forces are to land on the surface of Chalsolis immediately and begin the search for the prisoners of war."

Chalsolis Surface

While those aboard the ships manned their battlestations, 100 ships (a mix of frigates, destroyers, and light cruisers) would split off from three of the fleets and conduct a micro-FTL jump into Chalsolis's atmosphere. Following them were the Goxan-class carriers, 6 kilometer long ships that carried tens of thousands of soldiers, numerous fighter-bombers, gunships, transports, artillery and armor, and prefabricated garrison bases. Such large ships were only capable of floating high in the sky thanks to their gravity generators, which created a gravitational force strong enough to resist the natural gravitational pull of Chalsolis.

The ships would immediately begin deploying fighter-bombers in order to destroy the rather light defenses around various Maug-Lai settlements. As this was occurring, the prefabricated garrison bases were deployed first; then, thousands of army soldiers would begin deployment from their transports at several command posts (all of them outside Maug-Lai settlements) across the planet. The soldiers were all wearing exoskeleton suits which greatly enhanced their abilities (such as allowing them to run much faster than normal and giving them significantly more strength). The suits were also equipped with a small gravity generator, allowing the soldiers to hover in the air for a short time (useful for climbing over large obstacles or moving up onto buildings), optical camouflage (to blend in to their surroundings), and other abilities. Following the soldiers were various armor and artillery. They included tanks, armored personnel carriers, missile platforms, and mobile plasma cannons.

Uncharted Space

Several days into the expedition, the crew of the Korosian cruiser had become somewhat bored of their expedition to search for extra-terrestrial life. Seeking some form of entertainment, security personnel in the hangar bay had set up a table, playing a mere game of 'cards'. This was the same for all working in the cruiser, with the thousands whom had worked seamlessly now enjoying some form of break. The bridge, though with serious-minded and harshly trained officers had begun to relax, the human officers recording their situation. The captain was a Korosian with a Trooper set. The Captain was a veteran of previous conflicts, though it would not be spoken of.

Suddenly, three large objects appearing to be space craft appeared by their location. The Korosian Captain at once shouted commands at identifying the craft. Officers were startled by the command and clumsily went to their stations.

"Alert! Alert! Unknown craft within our view! Prepare for possible intrusion!" The alarm rang across the cruiser, with security personnel preparing toppling their cards, taking their weapons, ranging from the K-M2 SMG to the favorite Flux Rifle, a medium/long-range semi-automatic rifle. The captain had ordered the communications officer to send a message to the craft found right beside the cruiser.

The Directors seemed surprised at Pers'Av's outburst. They looked between each other, looking back at the Ambassador. Director Nine seemed the most concerned. Nine was one of the few who did not agree to this treaty, but was somewhat forced to make a move on its 'no refund' addenda. Director Nine audibly sighed, shaking his head and putting his head in his hands. He looked up at Pers'Av, and snorted somewhat.

"Director Four, you're an idiot. Did you honestly think any reasonable person was going to accept that deal? Honestly, how you got elected by your Corporation to be among this Board amazes me. Ambassador Pers'Av, I must apologize severely for Director Four's incompetence. Of course we are far more understanding than that. I propose a less... severe treaty. One that is mutually beneficial. We will supply you with war materials, weapons, technology, troops and ships... in return, you pay us in kind during times of our wars as well as during war efforts. However, the moment the war ends - whether it is between us and another power, or you and another power, I say we agree to lend economic support to the other nation in any way possible, and create an 'intentional' overproduction of sorts - allowing you to buy more for slightly less than standard price.

Of course, in the event of Covenant defeat, I'd like to point out we will still need compensation for any produced goods that were finished. I believe everyone here understands you cannot pay that off immediately, so, we would simply raise the price of some goods - just a small amount - through our trade and such so that you gradually pay us back by virtue of trading with us over an extended period. I think this is far more reasonable. Director Four, if it were up to me, your position on this Board would be terminated.
", Nine finished. His deal was a lot more reasonable. Most of the Directors who elected to not follow Four's deal elected in approval for Nine's deal; Director One was the sealing vote that would make the Conglomerate Board now in favor of Nine's treaty in the event of war for either of the two close allies. Director Nine looked over at Pers'Av, waiting for his response.

"I apologize for my... incompetence...", Director Four finally conceded. The Board now waited for Pers'Av's response.

Sayran, Conglomerate Space

Pers'Av was still seething with rage. He didn't give a damn what Director Nine proposed. The Directors had went too far by attempting to screw over the Covenant when they would already be weak and war-weary from the fighting. He wanted to just walk out of these negotiations now even though they had just started, but he knew had to at least try to make a deal.

"I am done with negotiating," Pers'Av simply said while absentmindedly pushing in his chair. He then looked straight at the Directors. "I am the dominant negotiating party here. We are the superpower, and the Conglomerate would be nothing but a backwater developing nation if it weren't for your economic prowess. You people are tricksters and you will do anything to make quick buck, even if it means screwing over your closest allies when they need help the most! I can't even believe the audacity...you sit there like the cowards you are with your disguises and voice modulators and try to peddle this bullshit to me! I, Overlord Asir, and our government have merely tolerate your pathetic nation, believing you could be of some use to us, but now, you people have gone too far!"

Pers'Av then signed. "Now, this is what we are going to do: You are going to give our nation economic and industrial support, and in exchange, we will give you some of the spoils of war, and maybe we might give you some Alliance worlds. If you refuse this, then the relationship between our two nations is over, and we may just launch an invasion of your nation and wipe it off of the galactic map!"

Pers'Av then pointed at them. "Choose wisely, you cowards!"

Director Nine seemed a bit... uneased by the Ambassador's seeming ultimatum. The other Directors seemed to raise brows, based on the way their eyes moved. Director One seemed to understand his anger, as did Nine; however, the other Directors seemed either confused or annoyed. Director Nine hoped it wouldn't come to the Solovn Protocol, but based on the way Director Four was looking at Pers'Av, that could be a strong possibility. Director Nine decided to intervene before things escalated too far and too much, but as Nine was about to speak...

"You dare talk down to us as if we are some vassal state? You just received an amazing, mutually beneficial offer! I may have overstepped my bounds, yes, but that doesn't give you the right to act like we are some small vassal state of yours. I suggest you take a re-listen to Director Nine's offer, as that is going to be our final offer. We don't do ultimatums, here, Ambassador. We are not your subjects. Despite what you may think, you are but guests to this Board. You do not have diplomatic immunity; only Ambassadors within the Cho'Dosan embassy do. I could have you executed for the way you are talking to us. Executed. Our anonymity protects us from any true retaliation on equal scale; AOs and CAOs are easily replaced, as are most of the officials in this room with plenty of people worthy of their position. I'm sure your government likely views you the same way.

Now, I do not take well to being talked down to, Ambassador. So here is what you will do if you do not wish your position to be terminated by virtue of an 'unfortunate accident.' You are going to sit your blue ass down, listen to Director Nine's deal, and make any notes of what you'd like to change. You are in Conglomerate space, with but a ship; if you did somehow manage to leave this planet alive, you would not leave Conglomerate space in much the same condition. Haven't you heard the reports of 'terrorism' eliminating ambassadors and others who have come to meet us directly, rather than negotiating in their embassies? Those accidents or terrorist acts were simply us finding someone more... friendly to our plans and treaties. More... open-minded, shall we say? I can and will have you dead with but a word, and none of the other Directors can override an order given by me if I give it to the troops under my control; most of which, are, at the moment. Men, this is Director Four of the Board initiating Solovn Protocol with authority code Vando-Mecha-Four. If I say the word, this Cho'Dosan delegation is to be terminated.
", Director Four spat out with obvious venom despite the modulation to his voice. Director Four's eyes were full of rage at being talked down to. The meeting room's doors were suddenly locked, and the Cho'Dosan found his communications jammed, as did any guards with him in the room. Soldiers nearby raised their weapons, some moving closer and putting them to his guards' heads.

After this, Director Four played a recording of Director Nine's proposal for Pers'Av to listen to. Four then waited for what Pers'Av did next. The other Directors seemed nervous, and all looked concerned, especially Director Nine. The other Directors were obviously not okay with what was happening, it was blatantly obvious to anyone in the room paying attention to what emotion could be seen in their eyes. Director Nine decided to speak up, suddenly, hoping to ease any tensions that Four had just started with Solovn.

"Ambassador Pers'Av, please- I'm sorry this has happened. Director Four is... obviously not in a very good mood. Please, Director Four, calm down; Ambassador, I need you to remain calm as well. Let's work this out. We can talk about this. We are all reasonable people, right? Right?", Nine spoke, somewhat small now. Nine looked at Pers'Av with genuine concern, and based on Nine's silhouette, Nine was biting their nails, or at least, nipping at the tips of their fingers in nervousness and fear. Nine obviously didn't want what Four was doing. None of them did. But it was happening.

(OOC: Pers'Av did not take any guards with him. He went in alone.)

Sayran, Conglomerate Space

After Director Four finished his rant, Pers'Av watched as the doors to the meeting room were suddenly locked, the communications on his datapad jammed, and the guards in the room pointed his weapons at him. Pers'Av did not appear to be nervous- although he did not show it in his face (which still showed anger), he was ecstatic. Even if he didn't make it back to Covenant space, he knew the Conglomerate would be smashed to bits by the Covenant war machine. Holding a diplomat at gunpoint was more than enough of a casus belli against the Conglomerate. All he had to do to survive is feign as if he agreed to the terms.

Pers'Av sighed and sat back down in his chair. "Alright fine," he said calmly, looking at the Directors. "Director Nine, I fully agree to your terms, and I agree to renew any other treaties we may have. Now, I ask that you please release me, so that I can go back to the Covenant and inform them of the success of this deal."

Back on the ship, the guards and the pilots had been secretly watching the meeting. A small camera had been embedded into Pers'Av's suit (it blended in, so it couldn't be seen) to record every foreign meeting he went to for documentation purposes and just in case anything went wrong. While his datapad appeared to be off, it was secretly recording audio for the crew to hear.

After the communications were disrupted, they received no video or audio feed. The soldiers were now worried, believing that he may have been killed. They took their weapons and left the ship, and they attempted to enter the Complex.

Krastika Prime - Krastika System - Krem'Ha Sector - GKU

A quick scan by the Alliance fleet revealed that in front of them there were 1,560 starships of various classes. It also informed them that these ships were very vulnerable to all types of Alliance weaponry due to their reliance on ship hull armor and not energy shielding. In fact only the carriers and the main battleships had some sort of energy shielding but even this shielding was insufficient to protect the ships from the Alliance weaponry. Overall there were 2,610 enemy starships in the system with the rest spread throughout the other planets and outer edges of the system in order to guard those planets. Whether or not these ships would turn to face the Alliance invaders was up to the Krastikan Admiral in charge of the defense. Fleet Admiral Bresan Mo'Wroea was in charge of the defense of the Krastika System and the defense of the entire Krem'Ha Sector. Unlike the officers of other navies, Fleet Admiral Bresan reached his rank by careful political planning and backstabbing in order to ensure this position. So long as he didn't fail miserably with this command, he would remain as the Admiral of the Krastika Fleet and the Krem'Ha Sector Fleet Admiral. His command ship was in the near of the assembled formation and had a personal squadron of heavier ship classes to ensure his own safety.

Fleet Admiral Bresan sat relaxed in his command chair as he watched the various monitors show him the positions of the enemy vessels. "They certainly lack the numbers. Looks like Military Intelligence has overestimated the true numbers of the enemy." He turned his head towards his second-in-command who was standing right next to him. "Current Report."

"Enemy is charging forward with their heavier ships. They are alot larger than our own but we have the numbers to match them entirely. Their carriers and other vessels have deployed numerous fighter and bomber craft toward our ships." The Krastikan officer looked at his superior. "I suggest that we recall our entire forces to this point. The enemy is concentrated here."

"Hmph, you clearly overestimate them Captain Xthea." Fleet Admiral Bresan scolded and waved his finger disappointingly at his subordinate. "Our sheer numbers should be enough to take care of them." He turned towards the entire bridge crew. "Order the carriers to deploy their first wave of fighter craft. Have our torpedo bombers remain on stand-by and launch when their first wave of fighters and bombers are preoccupied. They are to fly with a light fighter escort. Have the First Squadron move forward to engage the incoming enemy vessels. The Second squadron is to hold the center. The Fourth Squadron is to keep my ship protected in their center. The Five and Sixth squadrons at the flanks are to continue forward and engage the enemy's flanking ships. Any ships that make it past their own are to engage the center enemy vessels at their flanks. The Third squadron is to spread out its vessels to screen our center flanks." As he spoke each order, the communications officers began relaying these orders to the commander of the other vessels. UDF training emphasized the importance of central command and how each ship and unit formation must rely on orders from their superiors. At the same time however they are encouraged to take the initiative and not always obey their officers when the situation is favorable. These confusing demands have caused many officers and soldiers to play it safe and be subservient to their superiors rather than take the initiative in battle.

As the Alliance ships got closer, 310 starships at the center began pulling away and charged the incoming Alliance ships. On both flanks there was an even number of Krastikan ships of 260. The rest of the ships at the center were shifting their formation and the carriers began launching waves of fighter craft to meet the incoming Alliance fighters. The UDF Fighter-Bomber is the standard fighter craft of the UDF and is focused on acceleration. While it can intercept enemy craft at high speeds, it has a terrible turning capability. Of course the advantage was negated when facing the more advanced enemy and their disadvantages multiplied. The lone Krastikan Navy pilot could take solace in that there were more of his comrades than there were Alliance pilots.

"This is Fleet Admiral Bresan. All ships and fighters change your sound levels in the communications now. We are going to deploying our usual tactic." As both fighter groups got closer and the Krastikan Navy vessels were in combat range, loud patriotic music began playing on all possible radio channels. This was an unconventional but standard tactic of the UDF Navy, blasting music on all radio communications for a few minutes in order to confuse and disorganize the enemy in the first few minutes of the battle. Of course the music would be turned off eventually but at these first crucial moments it was up to the individual Krastikan pilots and ships to ensure that they gain the upper hand these first few minutes. This is where the initiative and ingenuity of UDF training was supposed to kick in for the individual Krastikan soldier.

Sayran - Sayran System

The Conglomerate

Director Four seemed to calm at Pers'Av's submission. Nine seemed relieved, but wasn't sure if it was the truth or not. Director Four had been recording this meeting, as had the other Directors; all had a link to the Director Network from which the recording could be edited. Director Four seemed to relax. Four seemed to be sitting in thought. Nine looked at Four, curious as to what the insane Director was going to do next. Nine knew this might have some backlash. Unless... right, the Solovn Protocol. Nine knew what it meant - Sayran had many Board Complexes on it in secret, which were mobile and some were fixed, but others were isolated; and built into mountains. The reason for this was because of the Solovn Protocol.

"Officers, Men. I will send notice to your families. Execute Solovn Protocol.", Four said coldly. The Board's holograms disappeared one by one, but Nine remained to look on apologetically, before Nine's hologram disappeared as well. The soldiers looked confused for a long moment, unsure as to what was happening - they were informed Solovn Protocol meant simply taking orders only from the Director who issued the Protocol Order. That was what they were trained for and informed, anyways. With a great and tremendous suddenness, they would get their answers.

On the outside, the entire Complex appeared to detonate. A large explosion, and by sheer proximity the Cho'Dosan ship would get blasted and perhaps even destroyed, or at least severely damaged as well as damage to all systems. The Complex was completely destroyed; everyone inside, dead. They would be replaced quickly, as Four had stated before; cloning was entirely easily and possible, and if not clones, there were plenty of people worthy of the position. The explosion was tremendous, destroying a portion of the faux city built around it as well. A thorough EMP wave swept through after the explosion. Director Nine saw this from specialized drones outside of the city, watching from the Director Quarters. Nine knew what would happen next; Four had already sent word for it to be said. Nine also knew Four had an edited recording of the meeting summarized and sent such that the Cho'Dosans would have agreed to Nine's deal.

Dearest Friends of the Cho'Dosan Covenant,

It disheartens me to say that, after our meeting was concluded, before your diplomat could exit our complex, an anti-Conglomerate terrorist strike by a Syrng extremist group occurred. It obliterated the entire Complex, as well as destroying your ambassador's ship and killing your ambassador. Fortunately, a recording of the meeting up to the explosion did survive, and I send it along with my deepest condolences.

I hope in the future that you crush the Alliance, and that the Conglomerate can continue to be of assistance to one of our largest customers and trading partners.

Regards, and Deepest Condolences,
Director Four, Board of Directors

To Unknown Craft,

Greetings people of the craft, we come to and only in peace. We seek to speak with your superiors, so that we may both understand ourselves and our mission. Any hostile act will be considered an act of war by the Emperor and the Governorates.

The Senior Captain looked to his left and right to fund the other two captains next to him, the two captains have been holographic ally projected next to him for communication reasons. The Senior Captian was a bit cautious with the current situation, he didn't know who this ship belong to and where it came from

"Suggestions gentlemen?"

The older looking captian who sat on his right shifted in his chair and then spoke "We have to reply and state that they have entered NEF space after that....it depends on if they are aggressive or not"

"But they stated that they come in peace!" Exclaimed the younger more naive captain "They surely would not attack us"

"Listen boy, I have been in more battles then you and when I tell you that it's better to be cautious then stupid, I tell the truth" bellowed the captain on the left

"Why you-" started the captain on the right

"Enough! I have made my decision, lieutenant, reply back" said the senior captain handing her a data pad.

The lieutenant nodded and proceeded to type out the NEF's reply

Uncharted Space

The communications officer had recieved a message and had requested that the captain see. The captain stared into the screen of the device, and had become enchanted by it; something the captain has not been for a very long time.

"Transmit back to them. Provide them information regarding ourselves and our purpose. Also send in word to the diplomats to prepare themselves in the shuttle." The captain had stated in a swift manner.

"Understood, Sir." The communications officer had acknowledged the order and had made an announcement to the diplomats residing in the cruiser.

"All ambassadors, head to the hangar bay immediately. I repeat, all ambassadors, to the hangar bay immediately." The statement heard by the diplomats. They walked toward an elevator, where they were greeted by Korosian Guards wielding sabers, plasma frantically glowing on each head of the blade. They turned the devices down in order to ensure safety and had led them to a small shuttle, where a few Korosian Units along with a Heavy Unit were found; their emotionless faces staring at the diplomats.

Once cleared, the communications officer sent a message once again to the unknown space craft.

The Korosian Robotic Empire. A nation composed both of machine and human. Formed over 50,000 years ago by human settlers, the Korosians derived from a device we call the Kresis. The Kresis brought forth Enlightenment into the human populace, 'evolving' their states into sentient machines. - GALACTIC ALLIANCE -

Krastika Prime | Krastika System | GKU Space

Onboard the Phalanx, Admiral Titus sat back in his chair and examined the field of battle - closely watching the UDF's movements and gathering information on their strategy. "They're more intelligent than I first believed, I'll give them that, but this is in vein. They overestimate their own strength - believing superior numbers means certain victory." He connected to the fleet-wide comms and began relaying orders. "Continue the push - the fighters cannot breach our shields. Send out our second wave of fighters to engage their formations, and send a Dreadnought on each flank to cripple their forces on those sides of the battlefield." He paused and turned to his specialist. "Initiate cyber-warfare sweeps and start relaying the message to the enemy fleet."

"With all due respect, Admiral," the Specialist began, "do you think the Reds will listen to reason?"

"The offer will be on the table" Titus said. "It'll come in handy later, when their fleet is in shambles."

While two Dreadnoughts broke off from the main force to support the smaller ships on the flanks, the main force continued to drive foreword, and at this point would likely be tearing apart the enemy fleet, which was largely unshielded. While the first wave of fighters and bombers suffered heavy losses, the second moved into reinforce them and would move to push on the enemy fighter wings. Through the enemy comms, a message from the Alliance Fleet began to play in repeat.

"Men and women of the Union Defense Force, the Galactic Alliance is not your enemy - we are here to free your people from millennia of tyranny and oppression. Your Supreme Leader would have you believe otherwise, and you were bred to believe his word was that of a god, but what of those who have opposed them? It is the duty of a citizen to question his or her government, and what has happened to those who have: death. Your Government, and your Supreme Leader, are not there to help you. The Alliance is your friend. Surrender now - put an end to this pointless violence so that you may return to your families under the leadership of a new, free republic, led by the Krastikan people, where the voice of the common man matters. Surrender now, friends, and you shall be free."

Overlord Asir paced the floor of his office in the Grand Complex, the headquarters of the Reformed Council. He wore his standard uniform- an all black uniform (shirt, pants, boots and a belt) with the Covenant flag sewn in on left side of his shirt. Asir had become an old man, and his 21 year reign as the dictator of the Covenant had worn him down. However, even in a reign as long as his, he had not seen the galaxy as tumultuous as it was now.

Pers'Av, the head diplomat, prominent member of the Reformer Party, and a personal friend of Asir, was dead; he had apparently been killed in a terrorist attack on Sayran. An audio file had been attached to the Conglomerate's message about the incident, but hardly anyone in the Covenant believed it. The Cho'Dosans were not naive- they knew of the Conglomerate's dirty tricks. It was obvious that the audio file had been deliberately edited. Many people suspected that there was much more to the story; some speculated that it was a false-flag operation. While they were demanding the end of relations and even war with the Conglomerate, Asir was grieving over the death of a good friend. Also, he began to regret keeping relations with the Conglomerate at the beginning of his reign.

Asir was certain that there would be no war with the Conglomerate, at least not yet. Due to the border war with the Tagali and the upcoming war with the Alliance, the Covenant could not afford a third war. However, what he could do was demand a better investigation into the matter.

He finally sat down at his desk and composed a reply to the Conglomerate.

Greetings Directors,

The Covenant demands a more detailed investigation into the deaths of Pers'Av and those aboard his diplomatic ship. In fact, the Covenant wishes to send its own investigators to analyze and recover the ruins of Pers'Av's diplomatic ship. Due to the fact that these ships carry high-ranking Covenant personnel, they are constructed with the most advanced technology to ensure that they can only be destroyed with a substantial bombardment. Even on the ground, these ships would have their energy shields activated at all times for further security. While the crew may not have survived the sheer force of the explosion, the ship almost certainly did, even if it is in terrible condition.

The Board, in the Directors Quarters in an unknown system of Conglomerate space - the true capital, where the Board lived - were now debating what to do with the Covenant. Of course, Four planned for the Syrng Workers' Union to take the blame and be a patsy. It was easy enough to falsify evidence that they had gone into the Complex and detonated the emergency power-core within the facility; which secretly doubled as a bomb, but the Cho'Dosans didn't need to know that. There likely wasn't enough within the building's ruins and such to even give them enough to discover it, anyhow. Four also proposed that they give most data "collected" on the Workers' Union. They were communists and terrorists, and completely against the current Board regime system.

"If they discover us, Director Four, I am going to blame all of this on you. I don't care what anyone else says, I will. I will personally hand you to the Cho'Dosans on a silver fucking platter if it means we might be spared.", Director Nine said, seriously. Director Four gulped, but nodded in understanding. The Board continued to debate what information to share with the Covenant, as well as what story to cook up and such. After the long debate was over, the Conglomerate Bureau of Security Affairs [CBSA] sent a message in response.

To: The Cho'Dosan Covenant
From: The Conglomerate Bureau of Security Affairs, with Board Authority

Attention: Reformer Council, Overlord Asir;

This message has been sent with the approval of the Board of Directors. We, at the Conglomerate Bureau of Security Affairs, would gladly welcome your investigators and assist them in investigating this further. We shall even provide a basic dossier on the Syrng Workers' Union, the terrorist, anti-governmental group responsible for this. We are confident that this was an attempt to strain relations with the Cho'Dosan Covenant, likely to allow them to cause future attacks in our nation while we are busy looking in to this devastating, unfortunate attack.

Current investigation suggests that the Board Complex on Sayran had a forced meltdown of its power-core, causing an explosion that nearly destroyed the city around it, as well as destroying most electronics and other data with EMP waves. This data has been collected and sent to your offices based on monitoring logs wirelessly sent from the Power-Core every few standard hours. There is an obvious increase in energy during the meeting, reaching toward dangerous levels. Based on this evidence, we believe the SWU infiltrated the Complex and caused the meltdown; however, we are still investigating the matter.

Please have your investigators sent to the Valdau System to meet with our operatives there in the Ascuvi Tower, so that we can begin assembling a joint task force and such to continue investigations as well as track SWU down.

We do not mean to sound callous, but the Ascuvi Tower's forces are all that can be afforded to you; we lost many important personnel in the attack, and so, we must be on high alert and keep close eyes on other important facilities throughout the Conglomerate to ensure their safety. We are sure you understand. We offer our condolences for this unfortunate and unnecessary loss.

Regards,
Operative Marujisv of the Conglomerate Bureau of Security Affairs

Krastikan-Alliance War

"To Die is the Greatest Honor."

Krastika Prime - Krastika System - Krem'Ha Sector - GKU

Admiral Bresan was getting more and more nervous as the battle - no, the slaughter - went under way. The Alliance ships were much stronger then he was willing to openly admit. The Fifth Squadron which took the left flank had taken over 67% casualties and was now considered combat ineffective. The Sixth Squadron which took the right flank had taken over 71% casualties and was now considered combat ineffective. The First Squadron which took the center had taken over 89% casualties and was beyond combat ineffective. By now the advancing Alliance center had already began engaging the Second Squadron which remained in its position. "Order the Third Squadron to support the Second Squadron's defense! Fifth and Sixth Squadrons are to pull back and regroup for a second assault. Have all the scattered squadrons and any other ships in the system group up near Versla for a counter-attack! The Fourth Squadron is to pull back and join these other vessels for the counter attack!"

Captain Xthea looked dumbfound at his superior. "Admiral Bresan, what about the Second and Third Squadrons? Wouldn't we leave the homeworld in a-"

"Do not question my orders Captain Xthea!" Admiral Bresan yelled frantically at his subordinate at the top of his lungs. "Their deaths will pave the way for our future victory! There is no greater glory for a soldier of the Union Defense Force than to die for his or her country." Admiral Bresan turned from his second-in-command and faced the rest of the bridge crew.

"But Admiral-" Captain Xthea protested before stopping mid-sentence. He knew that questioning the order of his superior any further would cause the other officer next to Admiral Bresan to arrest him on charges of treason. He looked at this officer and his suspicions were confirmed when the other officer looked menacingly at him.

"As the political officer of this vessel and this fleet, I agree with the Admiral's decision." The officer replied sharply. "I insist that you do as well, Captain."

"Tch." Captain Xthea flinched at the decision. He changed his facial expression and posture to a more calmer and commanding one. "As you wish Admiral Bresan. Helm turn the ship around, we're pulling away from the planet."

"Admiral Bresan," one of the communications officers yelled, "The orbital defense platforms are now operational. The gunners are now ranging out their targets and opening fire on the enemy vessels. Also the reserve squadrons on the ground are requesting permission to launch. Their ships are on standby on the mass drivers."

"Have them deploy in full force. Order them, the defense platform gunners, the Second and Third Squadrons to hold the line until we return. For the larger ships that we cannot harm, have the torpedo-bomber squadrons aim for weapon hardpoints, vital systems or hangers. Preferably the hangers. Let us depart immediately, the Fourth Squadron is to cover us en-route."

In the UDF Fleet formation, 375 ships which were on the flanks began to charge and engage the vessels the other ships were engaging. Meanwhile the ships on the flanks began retreating from the battle were attempting to regroup at the fourth planet around the sun in the Krastika System. Moreover, the other ships in the system began rallying to the same planet. Should all these ships gather together, there would be atleast 1000 starships to make an counter attack against the Alliance Navy. Moreover the UDF torpedo-bomber squadrons began to shift tactics and tried to unload their payload into the hangers of Alliance ships. Fighters and torpedo-bombers that were now carrier-less attempted to regroup with the fleeing ships in hopes of rearmament.

Scans would indicate that there are about 107 starships of various classes on the surface of the planet. The UDF Naval vessels do not have the thrust capable to exit the atmosphere of planets. In order travel beyond the planet's gravity, these starships on the ground would use long rail-lines called mass drivers which acted as a catapult for the starships to launch from. These mass drivers were so long and large that they were clearly visibly from the planet's red surface. And each of these mass drivers had one or more rails attached to them which allowed them to launch multiple ships at once. Scans indicate that if the Alliance ships could not breach the defenses by 30 minutes all these ships would be launched into space. A majority of the ships on the ground were main battleships and interceptor battleships which were already armed and ready to be launched by their respective mass driver. In a scene reminiscent of the old Human space launches, numerous flashes were seen and bright long blue-gray lances were propelled into space. These lances were gradually slow down and rotate themselves to face the incoming Alliance vessels.

There was alot of confused chatter between the UDF vessels. A few of the ships wanted to retreat and join with the others for the counter-attack but were ordered to hold the line. Other ships realized the futility of firing at the larger Alliance dreadnoughts and began focusing fire on the smaller ones. A few of the main battleships of the incoming third squadron of the Krastikan Fleet began firing at the smaller Alliance ships first in order to limit the Alliance's volume of fire. A few of the smaller UDF ships broke off from their squadron and began trying to locate the troop transports in order to destroy them. The flagship of the Krastikan Fleet, a main battleship, was breaking off from the battle with the Fourth Squadron in an attempt to regroup with the other ships at the fourth planet.

"So be it. I look forward to our next interaction." Ambassador Aieme spoke and bowed before turning away and leaving the presence of the Commonwealth representatives. he headed immediately for the refreshment table and asked for one of the drink menus. As he looked over the list of beverages, his compatriot looked over his shoulder and at the list.

"Interesting people, are they not?" Judicator Kerianh remarked with a grin and Ambassador Aieme sighed.

"I'm not much of a people person ironically speaking. I'm much more comfortable in my desk at Hobus than I am here." Ambassador Aieme admitted as he continued looking over the drink menu. "I want this Gala to be finished as soon as possible. The strain on my mental faculties is starting to burn and I grow more tired by the minute."

"Perhaps I should check your PHI." Judicator Kerianh responded sarcastically. "Maybe you will be considered a latent criminal at this point in the Gala."

"Don't get your hopes up Judicator." Ambassador Aieme replied.

(OOC: The Selinian Ambassadors are open to interaction at the Gala).

Presentation Transcript: "Energy, Industry, and the Future of Trans-Newtonian Elements"
Professor Seo-hyun Jeong, State University of Seoul
Presented at the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea
*other than a necessary translation from Korean to English, the text is unaltered

The discovery of the eleven elements that did not follow the laws of physics as known to us at that time in 2094, now over two hundred years ago, has revolutionized every aspect of humanity's industry, technology, and economy. The great Jovian orbital stations harvesting the many tons of sorium from the planet's deep interior ended the chronic energy crisis, while durantium reserves on Ceres and Io allowed the construction of space elevators and nuclear containment facilities. Today, these elements have woven themselves so tightly to our methods of manufacture, it seems difficult to imagine humanity without it.

In the territory of the United Nations, some thirty thousand star systems, there are an estimated two trillion tons of trans-Newtonian elements that have not yet been extracted. The latest figures released by the United Nations statistical division shows that humanity is using up these reserves at an alarming rate of three billion tons per year.

Some people do not find this figure as alarming as I do. "Why," they say, "three billion tons is nothing compared to our proven reserves, let alone the deposits we have not yet discovered!" This is an extremely mistaken opinion, of a mindset that will, if allowed to continue, forever prevent humanity from reaching its natural destiny.

Humanity has not been, is not, and likely never will be satisfied with what it has. We get bored. We grow envious. We become ambitious. It is our key strength that has kept the race advancing and finally propelled us into the stars. It is humanity's destiny to become, once and for all, the true masters of our environment - the better of all we survey.

The growth of civilization, however, comes at a cost of increasing usage of natural resources. In the last one hundred years, the United Nation's consumption of trans-Newtonian elements have grown at an average rate of four point eight percent per year. This may seem slow, but compounded, it means that the United Natuon's consumption has, in the past century, doubled every fifteen years. There is no reason to believe that this growth of natural resource consumption can be halted by anything except accepting the end to fast economic growth and correspondingly the abandonment of humanity's natural destiny. This cannot be allowed to happen.

However, at a growth of four point eight percent per year, our current consumption rate of three billion tons per year will completely use up the estimated two trillion tons of deposits within the current borders of the United Nations in no more than 75 years.

75 years. That is less than one human lifetime. I expect that my daughters will live for considerably longer than that.

So, then, the conclusion is obvious. Our resources are so limited as to effectively cease our growth within one lifetime. Within our children's lifetime, we must accept the end to humanity's growth, the end to humanity's eternal ambition and destiny. We must, in short, accept stagnation.

But there is an alternative.

Should the United Nations continue to expand its borders as it did in its early years, acquiring more deposits of trans-Newtonian elements, while improving our materials recycling technology, then our dream can continue. It must continue. If not for that dream of a better world, then for what did our ancestors struggle, work, and die?

The question of subsidizing exploration and colonization into the frontier regions is not a question of petty economics or political favors. It is directly related to the spirit of the Korean nation and, indeed, the future destiny of humanity as a whole. There can be no compromise, no delay on this issue.

Please support the Colonisation Initiative Act. Thank you.

The message was decrypted in cryptic coding, in order to ensure that no 'organic' discover the true intentions of the current diplomatic mission. It would be seen as far too radical for some, to do such a thing across the galaxy...

Chancellor's Office | Senate Dome
Alinor | Soala System | Galactic Alliance

Standing with his arms crossed behind his back, staring out at the nighttime metropolitan expanse of the most populous world in the entire Alliance, Senator Vestus awaited news on the progress of the new campaign against the Greater Krastikan Union. War had only been declared about six hours prior, and it was likely that the Alliance Navy had begun engaging enemy forces in multiple fronts, but due to the chaos and quickness of war, an official progress report was yet to be delivered. He prayed that the campaign would be quick and efficient so that the Alliance could both free the Krastikan people from oppression, and gain control of the GKU's resources and industrial capabilities. War with the Covenant was drawing near, and while more than prepared to defend their nation, the Alliance was determined to have every possible asset at their disposal. Behind him, the door slid open, and he turned to see a good friend, General Messus Akter, standing with his arms crossed behind his back. He bowed. "Your excellency, I bring news as to the progress of the current campaign."

"Ah" the Chancellor said, walking towards his desk and motioning for the General to step foreword. "I've been awaiting a report. Please, do tell."

"Our fleets have engaged enemy forces - with the 5th Fleet facing the strongest resistance around Krastika Prime. They outnumber us, but Admiral Titus has reported that most of their vessels do not have shields, and are being torn apart by our cannons. Our strategy seems to be working effectively, and the UDF's defensive line around their homeworld should soon break."

"Good, good..." Vestus said, taking a seat at his desk. "And the other sectors?"

"No solid reports, there, Chancellor." he answered. "Though, what we've gathered leads us to believe that the assault goes well."

The Chancellor pulled at his nose, thinking. "And the Covenant?"

"No clear response from them. Hyperspace lanes to the Union from the Covenant seem clear, so I don't suspect they'll be directly interfering."

"I see. Thank you, General. You are dismissed."

The General stiffly saluted. "Yes sir. I will keep you updated."

When the General exited the room, Chancellor pulled up his computer screen and began to write a message to none other than the Tagali Federation. When the war begins with the Covenant, Chancellor Vestus hopes to have every ally at his disposal, as he suspects the Covenant will not be fighting alone. There was no doubt that war would first come to Alliance space, but he had confidence that in time, the tides will turn, and it will be then that he will see to the destruction of their wretched homeworld. There shall be no mercy in this war - only utter annihilation.

Councillors,

I, Chancellor Vestus of the Galactic Alliance, am contacting you today because the future of many nation, people, and no doubt all that is good and free in the galaxy, is at dire risk. As you are most certainly aware, the Alliance has engaged in multiple conflicts with the Cho'Dosan Covenant in the past, and I fear that a fourth war is soon to break out, and as always, the Covenant shall be the aggressors. While we have been able to repel those who seek our destruction in the past, the growth of the Covenant's military and their aggressiveness (which you have seen clearly in the recent border conflict), put my people at risk at a level that it likely has never faced before, and I truly fear that if we do not play our cards rights, the Galactic Alliance will fall to this evil empire. I like to consider the Tagali people, and indeed all peoples of the Federation, a friend to the Alliance, and it because of this that I contact you today, out of trust and respect. When the day inevitably comes that the Covenant launches yet another cowardly attack on the Galactic Alliance, I would like to see that your nation stands up to defend freedom and democracy, and help us in our quest to protect our people, and put an end to this monster that has existed only to terrorize the Galaxy, and see free people bow to it's whim.

The Covenant is a disease that has plagued the galaxy for far too long, and we, as free peoples, must have the courage to destroy it. While I cannot go too in depth as for my plans, for National Security reason, I would be highly grateful if you would grant me the honor of having you attend an upcoming ball here, in the Senate Dome, on Alinor. We may celebrate, enjoy the festivities, and speak of this matter in person, safely, as both allies and friends. Please respond to this message as soon as you find the time, and I would like to end this message by wishing your nation and people a thousand blessings. Thank you for taking the time to read a message from a patriotic old man, and I wish you the best for both you, and your families.

Your's Truly,

Chancellor Anton Vestus

The Engian Confederation

An Orange Speck of Dust

New Engia

Barefooted, the two men walked down the marble corridor in near silence. Their light white robes blew in the breeze that constantly blew through the Senate House. Each man looked at the capital city six kilometers away, separated from the Senatorial complex by a ravine. Sleek, glass plated skyscrapers rose into the sky, reflecting some of the sun’s light into each of their eyes. Lush green skin was interrupted by metallic grey just below the surface of each creature’s skin, marking where an implant was located. Each of their eyes were artificial, enhancing them but also permitting the organs to be used for more mundane tasks, like looking up stock listings or news articles. The marble building was indeed very old, almost a few hundred. The dry climate and renovations allowed the building to give off an ancient appeal, but was in fact fairy modern in its operation. Now, the two men turned down a flight of stairs that brought them closer to the city. They left the protection of the white, columned building and entered the rock garden that led the way to the city. At the base of the stair case the polished pink marble gave way to regular, red colored rocks. It was the natural rock of the region, grounded up into gravel for the walkway. Each creature continued their walk. Behind them the Senate House, its white columns and sloped triangular roof, slowly shrank. The garden was an arrangement of geometric patterns, outlined by different color and shaped rocks.

“The Capricans will keep cutting docking fees and interplanetary transaction regulations in their allied worlds, cutting into the pockets of the Engio Alliance,” the creature on the right stated flatly, breaking the silence. The other creature kept walking, and appeared to be in thought. “Surely the Confederation, and a Consul, cannot allow the Empire to gather such clout. They will no doubt harm their colonial expansion, but they will continue to collect traders until they can raise rates. Establishing effective trade routes and reliable customers that will now go out of their way for the cheaper route. With the Conglomerate and the Covenant-“
“I am aware of the current stellarpolitical situation, thank you,” the consul spoke up at once. Consul Adil Zayn did not need to be reminded of the current tension in the galaxy. “It has been a factor in the security and economic reports for the Confederation. It is not written in the Confederation Charter that the Consul, nor the Senate, have the power to alter intracolonial commerce with the exception of monetary manners, a power only gained two hundred years ago. No where in the Charter can we take the liberty in dictating rates and fees.”

“Then they will take the traders!” the Engi protested. “With it they will no doubt use it to expand their fleets and-“

“The Confederation has kept the peace. It will continue to do so, fair trader. Your profits are not pre-ordained, but they can be achieved through clever means. Those seeking stability may come to our banks, our exchanges, and seek out the best deals. Offer them. But of course both sides will be wary of going too far, least they run their profit margin thin. One may also do well to speculate in mines and metal refining. If the times are as dire as the reports make it to be, the merchant of death is a respectable career decision.” The Consul turned to continue his walk. Without a reply the trader followed suit. It was decided. The answer was no. Under the bright blue sky and large red sun they continued.

“Of course,” the Consul continued, “We may be able to do one task. With more vessels we will be able to restart the Engian Science Expeditions into space. The knowledge is fair game for all colonies, but those seeking other enterprises will do well to invest now for a reward later. It is a slow path. But it is more profitable in the end. Bring it up with your Senator.”
Without looking into the eye’s of the man, the Consul could tell the trader was already composing a message to the Senators he held influence over. Each of the creatures continued their walk, and would continue in silence until they reached the monorail terminal to bring them to the capital city.

The Orson Empire wrote:

Chalsolis Orbit

As the Covenant ships neared Chalsolis, they triggered a Federation trap. In the middle of the Covenant Fleet, a massive wormhole opened up. Those caught in the wormhole's closest proximity were immediately destroyed due to the unstable conditions of the wormhole. While numerous Covenant ships were immediately destroyed, this was not the goal of the trap. Hundreds of Covenant ships were sucked into the wormhole and shot out at a "receiving hole near the System's star, Chal. There, the ships were shot out in close orbit to the star. Being in such proximity to the burning star, their shields and many other systems were overloaded, leaving them helpless as they drifted closer to the star. While hundreds of ships were doomed to "fall" into the star, hundreds of others were able to quickly react and get themselves to safety with minimum damage. Meanwhile, above Chalsolis, large numbers of the fleet remained, just as the Supreme Commander intended.

Chal Oort Cloud

"The Wormhole mine has triggered, the Covenant fleet has been split up and is in disarray." said one of the Bridge crewmen. Supreme Commander Boniface sighed in relief before bringing up two holographic portraits, one of the Maug-Lai Crowned Prince and FIS Operative Saeed.

"Well, Operative, it seems that your new device has succeeded." You have my thanks." Boniface said. The portrait of Saeed highlighted, indicating that he was speaking.

"No Madame, it is I that should be thanking you. My drones have recorded the test in it's entirety and will be sent to High Command shortly. Make good use of that War God AI. I had to practically pry it from the hands of the Electronic Warfare Division."

"Will do, Operative. All ships, begin Maneuver Indigo!" Suddenly, three more wormholes, more stable than the mine's creation, opened up. The Federation fleets had begun their attack.

Chalsolis Orbit

Two of the three wormholes opened up a distance away from the Covenant fleet. One opened up for the Federation Azure Fleet, weapons heated up and ready to fire. The other shot out something unusual. Out of the wormhole came the remnants of Admiral Is'oko's ruined fleet, arranged in a shell like formation, protecting the ships inside. Inside the shell formation two Supply Groups and a full Battlegroup, power being directed to shields, engines, and point defense weaponry so that they could to their destination as fast as possible.

To fully protect the transport fleet, squadrons of Trakuza Heavy Battlesuits and Pikeman Artillery Suits either stood by on the hulls of the Federation ships or flew close behind. The Trakuza's are beasts on the battlefield. Their pilots undergo cybernetic surgery for augmented optics, allowing enhanced targeting and information processing. Their bodies are augmented in ways as to allow them to survive the incredible speeds and movement as well as allowing them to connect with the battle suit, allowing them to use it as a mere extension of their body, making them very lethal in various fields of combat. Trakuza's are equipped a hardlight shield gauntlet and a Plasma sword for close quarters combat with transport ships and the unlucky fighter or bomber. For longer range, it is equipped with a heavy plasma repeater that can either be used by a "dumb" AI built into the suit or used manually by the pilot.

The Pikeman is an odd case in the Federation arsenal. It is one of the few Human weapons employed by mainstream Federation forces, and the only Kinetic weapon to be used in thousands of years by the Federation. The Pikeman is used in artillery and ship/fleet defensive roles, as it's GEN III MiniMAC gun can shoot clear through small and lightly armed ships, as well as large areas of effect on ground targets as they mostly fire from low orbit. While they are heavily armed and armored, they are slow and un-maneuverable, meaning more nimble vehicles or troops must protect them.

Aboard the Sargassi-Capital Ship leading the Federation troops inside the shell, a War God AI remotely piloted the Covenant husk ships through fragments of it's personality, each quickly equipped with weaker Hardlight shields than the standard Federation ship. War God AI's are some of the most advanced artificial intelligence at the Federation's disposal. While their origins are unknown, whether they be from stolen UNS designs, scavenged tech from some long dead alien race, or simply the latest breakthrough in Federation technology is unknown, but their ability to remotely pilot dozens, possibly hundreds of ships is quite effective.

The AI hailed Boniface, much to her surprise.

"What is it, is something the matter with the ships?"

"Nothings the matter, I'm just calling to give a bit of warning. Keep your fightercrafts and battlesuits out of the engagement zone. Keep them near the Azure."

"Mind telling me why I'm withdrawing support from my forces? You may be on loan from the FIS, but I am still the Commanding Officer in this system."

"But why spoil the reveal of my Masterpiece, Supreme Commander? You never know what Covenant intelligence Officer might be listening in. Just Keep to your part and have your heavy ships supply covering fire. I can't do all the work, now can I?" Immediately, the shell formation sped forward, on a direct course for the Covenant fleet. Behind them, Dreadnoughts, battlecruisers, and capitalships fired their long range weaponry to snipe Covenant ships from afar. While most of them were armed with standard Particle Lances, the Dreadnoughts and Capital Ships were equipped with Tachyon Lances, powerful blue beams of energy that could fire at long range with devastating results. The frigates and cruisers of the fleet stayed back, defending the Federation fleet in the case of a Covenant counter attack.

Chal Orbit

At the final Wormhole, around 600 Maug-Lai ships went through, ready to clean up the remaining Covenant forces that managed to survive being so close to the sun. Immediately, they fired off their own plasma weaponry.
Quote of the- Oh, I don't know how long I'm gonna have this on here.
"It's all good in the hood!" I replied cheerfully. But deep down, I knew that there were many socio-economic problems in the hood.

Krastika Prime | Krastika System | GKU Space

"Admiral, the enemy fleet seems to be retreating." informed the Specialist. "What are your orders?"

"Press the attack - eliminate anything that stands between us and Krastika Prime." He paused, examining the battlefield and the movements of his enemy. Admiral Titus was known to be an excellent tactician - one of the best the Alliance Navy has to offer - and had more than 70 years of military experience. In the last Raxis War, which took place about 30 years ago, he commanded the Alliance Fleets against the Covenant, and was known for his careful yet highly effective approach. If anyone could bring a swift victory over the Krastikan Union, it was Mercer Titus. "Prepare the troop carriers for surface deployment - I want boots in the capital as soon as possible."

The Specialist took a concerned expression as he looked at his own computer screen. "Admiral, it appears that the UDF is launching vessels from the surface to engage us while the rest of the fleet retreats."

Admiral Titus leaned back in his chair and scratched his rough beard, thinking. "Engage them as they exit the atmosphere." He paused, thinking, and noticed that the attacking forces on the flanks had retreated, freeing up dozens of vessels. "Have Destroyers on the flanks turn their fire to the surface and concentrate fire on the launching pads. Don't give them a chance to deploy more ships."

"Civilians may be in the area, sir, and may get caught in the fire." the Specialist warned.

Titus sighed. He knew that wars weren't won without collateral damage, but it was always a weight he wished he didn't have to bear. "Have the Destroyers use precision shots to minimize civilian casualties."

"Yes, Admiral."

From the bridge of the Phalanx, Admiral Titus watched hologram displays of the battlefield, and watched as multiple Destroyers broke off from the flanks and rejoined with the main force. They began firing down towards the surface - beams of glistening light going far faster than the speed of sound - that would crash into the UDF's launching pads and create flashes of light on the surface as they exploded. The few ships that were left to fight the Alliance Fleet were easily torn apart, and the Alliance soon had a clear path to the Krastikan homeworld. Dozens of troops carriers, escorted by Destroyers, Frigates, and other light vessels, began to descend to the surface and engage AA placements. Millions of Krastikans would watch as massive Alliance ships descended towards them, launching fighters and shuttles, while a Destroyer and Carrier descended over the Capital, releasing a message for all to hear:

"People of Krastika Prime, do not interfere. We are here as liberators, we are your friends, we are the Galactic Alliance"

*Unknown Name of Capital* | Krastika Prime | Krastika System | GKU Space
Corporal Daniel Maxson - First Marine Expeditionary Force

"This is it, boys! Let's move!"

Daniel and his squad, dressed in their full combat gear, darted into the hangar alongside hundreds of other Marines. The time was now - war was upon them. They climbed aboard their shuttles, eager to get into the act, but terrified at the same time. For many, this was their first time seeing actual combat, though Daniel's squad saw much of it during anti-piracy campaigns in the Outer Region. Even for them, however, it was their first time fighting an actual army, and while they had faith in their equipment and training, they knew it was going to be a tough fight. As Daniel took a seat inside the shuttle and strapped himself in, he looked around at the other Marines who were also yet to seal their masks, and their expressions were cold and determined. The shuttle, still inside the hangar, shook from AA fire, but nothing could shake their patriotism and will to free the people of Krastika. Daniel felt the shuttle lift, and it exited the hangar and began to descend towards the surface of the Krastikan capital. Captain Garith Lester, the CO of their platoon, began yelling over the sound of war to his men.

"Seal your masks!" The platoon did as he said, and sealed their masks. He continued to speak, hoping to give some words of encouragement before the fight. "This is it, men! The Alliance is finally letting us out of our cages!" Some of the guys chuckled, but the shuttle remained more-or-less quiet despite the sounds of explosions from the ground. "The Reds are gonna give us hell - do everything they can to stop us - but we're Marines! Let's give those bastards a beating they'll never forget!"

"OOHRAH!" everyone shouted.

"We get through this, if - no - when we put these fuckers down, we can all go home, and drinks are on me!"

"OOHRAH!"

"Today is judgement day, boys!" As he said that, the bay of the shuttle opened, and the gunner began opening fire of Krastikan troops in the streets. Many of the buildings were in flames, despite the Navy's attempts to avoid collateral damage, but it only helped troop morale. The shuttle passed over a row of buildings and hovered about ten feet over the street. Daniel and the others unstrapped, punched their helmets for good luck, and jumped out of the shuttle. It was time to spill some blood.
