Say, Gambia, what kind of diplomatic relations would you say the Bureau has with the Federation?

Same question for Alinora and the Galactic Alliance.

We try to keep friendly relations with everyone, except some *cough* Covenant *cough* don't like to cooperate. We'd be fine.

Well... You all are rebooting this right when I'm gonna be without wifi for a week. So that's cool. I'll be re-applying with a slightly altered Eldenian Commonwealth once I get back :3

Also, small suggestion: post a link to this forum in the old Twilight OOC and then lock it. I only knew that the reboot had gone through when Atria tried to apply and you mentioned the new thread :p

The UNS should ramp up its military, it looks like, and do it quickly.

Now that New Rome is bearing down on the UNS, it makes sense to start translating our vast wealth into actual guns and ships.

Ironically, this time, it looks like Rome will be the barbarian horde knocking at the gates of a more civilized nation.

They always were. 146 BC Carthage, never forget, never forget....

Anyway, the Federation is willing to lend a hand, we have humans too, better yet, humans that don't have delusional dreams of glory.

We'd also be willing to lend a hand. The Alliance is practically dominated by Humans, since some 32% of it's population is human and no other race goes over 20%

Say, Gambia, would it be possible for one of the League of Nation's ships to end up in Tagali space during a test to see if the FTL system they built into the colony ships they are building actually works?

Not problem, I already have a nonhuman FT race I made an app for in another RP, so most everything I need for your app is already made. I will post an app when I return.

Terraforming technology is... interesting, Gambia.

The UNS knows, theoretically, how it is done, but we have basically no practical experience or supporting infrastructure.

Life support is almost always cheaper than terraforming in the UNS, because of our low population density. In the entire UNS there are maybe four or five terraformed planets (including, notably, Mars). The rest are just barren, iced, toxic, or otherwise uninhabitable worlds with bubbles of life support on it.

Federation Terraforming comes from old Khyrsian technology which was basically plundered from the ruins of the confederacy. While life in the Federation's region is pretty abundant, habitable worlds aren't, and those that due often have delicate ecosystems that must be taken into account. Now, it's easier to find a barren rock, and adjust the atmosphere a bit, throw some trees and wildlife down to get an ecosystem going and voila. Federation worlds are literally garden worlds.

Still working on how the Federation uses Hardlight technology, most likely for shielding and construction.

Gravity bombs are basically Zarya's ult from Overwatch. If you don't know what I mean, just look it up. It should become pretty obvious.

The Greater Gambia wrote:-snip-

If you do end up helping the UNS defend against New Rome and the Covenant, your ground forces will definitely end up hating the UNS. :p

For the purposes of taxation (people on habitable planets are taxed more), the United Nations defines "habitable celestial body" as a planet, satellite, or asteroid with an average surface temperature between -75 and +75 degrees Celsius, average surface gravity of between 2.5 and 16.5 meters per second squared, has a non-corrosive, non-reactive atmosphere of less than 250,000 Pa, and has no disqualifying features (such as radioactivity).

So we might get interesting situations where a regiment of Federation infantry lands on a "habitable" planet and find out that the planet has lovely scenery like liquid nitrogen lakes and lightning shows across a pure-neon atmosphere.

And then they get an order to redeploy to a "non-habitable" UNS planet. Rage and frustration ensues.

Lovely.
