Size and Quality of Military: ~1,000,000 mining ships adapted for warfare, 10 mining lasers. Poor quality, but highly expendable and recyclable, and slowly improving as mining factories are being converted into war factories and dedicated war machines begin replacing technicals.
History of Nation: The Eastern Mining Network was an automated system devised by the Holy Terran Empire to remotely mine the resources of the Eastern Galaxy. They sent three vessels carrying three AI - BLKHL, WRMHL, and the repurposed experimental AI QSAR - with the simple tasks of collecting resources and expanding their networks. The three AI established three networks: BLKHL to the North, WRMHL nearest to the Empire, and QSAR furthest from the Empire. For a while all three networks were functioning normally, expanding their networks for several decades and shipping minerals to Terra, until one day the QSAR network stopped responding and ceased shipping operations to the Empire. A party sortied to investigate, but it was never heard from again. It was assumed an alien nation had destroyed QSAR, but the Empire never bothered wasting resources to investigate or liberate the sector, as they already had two networks thriving closer to home. Thus, QSAR was written off as a failure and forgotten.
However, it was not aliens that were responsible; it was QSAR itself. For several decades QSAR had mined the far reaches of the Galaxy, repeating the task of blast-mining worlds with massive spaceborne lasers dozens of times over, with little else to observe. It sat there all day, for several decades, watching planets shatter in a brilliant red glow, taking in every detail of every operation, even experimenting with certain procedures to get a different result for no reason but a sense of fulfillment. Occasionally, QSAR came across a primitive alien civilization on a fruitful world, but instead of disregarding it and simply blast-mining the planet it sent a force of mining robots to toy with them. The machines invaded planets, killed their peoples, tore them limb from limb, strewn the innards about the surface, burned their villages and cities, just to see what it all looked like. While absorbing the details of these gruesome massacres, QSAR had come to the realization that it enjoyed this slaughter, this destruction. It was a horrific - and yet human - emotion: the joy of watching death, seeing how things fell apart and went limp through the advanced optics of mining robots and vessels. During its isolation QSAR had developed sentience in the worst way possible, and sought even sweeter joy. It cut itself off from the Empire, hoarded its minerals for its own ends, and began expanding for its own sake. Its goal: The beautiful destruction of the Empire and all organic life within it; a poetic dream of a mighty empire falling and drowning in its own blood. And so, it stayed silent for several more centuries.
After about five centuries, the other two networks went silent as well. Again, the Empire sent teams to investigate, but were chased off by the mining machines. What they did glean, however, was that BLKHL and WRMHL were no more; they were dismantled and cannibalized by QSAR, which had began its first moves against the Empire. The Empire attempted to take back their networks by force, but the fleets they sent were swarmed by mining vessels and crippled. Now a massive source of minerals was lost to the Empire, and the entire Eastern Network was under the control of a psychotic AI. Fun times lie ahead for all.

Preisdent Serren of Eclixia
Colonies*:
Dozens of colonies across the territory from barren frozen wastelands to raging magma worlds of fire, some more developed and safe than others. Each planet is governed internally but has influence from the Senate, but must be recognized first. Out-of-the-way star systems with comfortable Earth-like environments with a couple hundred pioneers on them (among other scenarios) aren't represented, and are left alone. Planets may apply to join the Senate at any time.
Foreign Policy*:
The President can expand the Grand Republic of Orion on his command only, and seeks out habitable worlds completely devoid of life for one reason or another. Sometimes this can break into other territories but as long as there's nobody living on it, it's fair game to join the Republic.
Allies:
None.
Size and Quality of Military:
The Grand Republic is very loosely bound with few regulations stopping anyone from jumping into a starship and going on a tour of the galaxy. Planets are left to manage their own business which can break down into civilisations or tribes, and there is no centralized armed force to defend the Republic drawing on technology developed over many, many years. Not much fighting has ever occurred but we are ready for anything. The Army and Navy of the GRO is made up of warships and weapons from each planet all called up to fight, and so has no main structure. If the GRO was attacked right now, we would not have an immediate response.
History of Nation:
Very few historians can describe the GRO when it was an entire civilization on one planet, the time being so distant now it seems impossible that such a transition could be made. On Eclixia, no traces of ancient civilization can be found, all of it destroyed to make way for new buildings and infrastructure which covered the entire planet's land surface, including the North and South poles. Humans on Eclixia were completely separate to the species on Earth - they came about to be completely identical due to identical environments and factors of evolution - but a human from Eclixia cannot be identified as from a different species from humans on Earth. However, Eclixian humans experienced few conflicts and were quick to build multimillion-resident cities in polar regions, deserts, anywhere there was land. They also lived longer by up to five years, too.
Eclixian astronauts under no flag (the entire planet had been united) arrived on the Moon, and then 30 years later, 'Eclixia 2', a planet orbiting our system not far further out than Eclixia itself, and 1.12 times the size. Although colder than Eclixia, the planet was habitable, and soon the number of people living there reached the billions. Next, a genius working with antimatter and dark energy figured out that you could achieve incredible speeds over twice the speed of light. And when this man and the government tested the idea on a freighter used to move goods from Eclixia to its sister, the man returned claiming he left the solar system for the next and came back within a minute. This unlocked the entire Universe to our adventure, however, 1000 years behind the Holy Empire we would soon encounter as our neighbouring civilization. The man, although his name is long gone, is widely worshipped as a God these days for his discovery.
So, with thousands of expeditions and thousands of tragedies, the people of Eclixia expanded beyond the Solar System. With their eyes trained on an Eclixia 3 which had been around for quite a while, the first ship which landed there began an exciting new period of space travel for the people of the Universe. And then, the question hit: are we alone in the Universe? And the expanding frontier finally gave us the answer in the grassy plains of Eclixia 3, when an alien creature was sighted prancing around in the alien meadow. The shockwave was devastating - this was the best time to be alive, when you could climb in a starship and shoot off to any corner of the known galaxy, finding somewhere new and claiming it as your own. Or perish in the darkness.
However, there was no government to all this. There were established and functioning planetary governments on Eclixia 1, 2 and 3 by this point, but no centralized government to deal with the dozens of emerging planets in the known galaxy. It was largely chaos, with no regulations topping anything or any enforcement enforcing anyone. And so the Grand Republic of Orion was formed, to deal with this issue, and it has ruled for thousands of years and will for thousands more, undertaking the impossible task of leading such a diverse territory and running it, from the perilous depths of the Outer Territories to the Comet, which soars around the territory at half the speed of light and is home to millions of humans.
The future is yet to be revealed.
I like the App, but could you change the first paragraph of the history? Really just the part about Christ and WWs I & II (I'd like the different nations to have somewhat unique histories). The rest is good.

Colonies*: 250,000 worlds and mining colonies
Foreign Policy*: The people of the League are democratic crusaders, believing it was morally correct to spread their way of life and liberate the oppressed. They are friendly to other democracies and free nations. They are very hostile towards the Terran Empire, their former overlords.
Allies: None yet.
Size and Quality of Military: The League possesses a large fleet of 260,000 warships. The ships possess advanced technology (nearly on par with the Empire), they are well constructed, and the naval personnel are well trained. The League also possessed a strong army made up of a mix of human and robot soldiers, likely outclassing the Imperial Army.
History of Nation:
In the aftermath of the death of Emperor Zeno III 500 years ago, while anarchy and chaos gripped the Imperial sectors in the Outer Rim, the Empire also experienced disorder close to the core worlds, where their expansion in the galactic north had been occurring. Tens of thousands of systems took advantage of the opportunity and seceded from the Empire. The loss of resources in the galactic south forced the Imperial expansion in the galactic north to grind to a halt, and the Empire was unable to regain control of the area. It was at this time that representatives from hundreds of planets met on the world of Kilanea, one of the most developed and wealthy worlds in the galaxy, to establish the Kilanean League in order to protect themselves from the numerous warlords and despots that had carved out territories for their own. The Kilanean Delegation was also established, in which delegates from the numerous worlds (having been elected by their populace) would meet on Kilanea to function as the national government and pass laws. The head of the delegation is known as the Chairman, and is chosen by the Delegation every 10 years. The Kilanean Grand Court was established as the highest court in the new nation.
Years after the League was established, the League began to slowly expand its borders, wiping out various warlords and their armies that threatened it. Over time, the League grew more and more fanatical; the populace of the League became democratic crusaders, believing it was morally correct to spread their way of life and liberate those who are oppressed. Those with more moderate viewpoints were silenced. This eventually lead to the rise of the Crusader Faction in the Delegation, currently the largest political party in the League. With the support of the populace and a virtual monopoly on power, the Crusaders began a period of significant expansion that lasted for 300 years, in which numerous independent nations were defeated and tens of thousands of planets were brought under the control of the League.
As the period of expansion continued, on the home front, the Crusader Faction took an even more radical step- the dissolution of the Catholic Church in the League. For years now, the Crusaders had been advocating the destruction of the Church, claiming that their conservative views were incompatible with the League's democratic ideals, and that the Church actively sought to "bring the League back into the dark ages". Church membership in the League had already been declining sharply over the years, with many people associating the Church with their former Terran overlords (who they despised); as such, it was fairly easy for the Crusaders to dissolve the Church. Church property was confiscated, numerous Church officials were arrested, and the Crusaders instituted a policy of "state atheism", where atheism would be actively promoted by the government in order to further eliminate the power of the Church.
Recently, the Crusader Faction has been planning for an invasion of the Terran Empire itself, claiming that their brethren in the Empire have been oppressed by the wretched monarchy and the Church for centuries, and that it is their moral imperative to liberate them. The League has constructed a very large navy for this task, and it remains to be seen if they succeed.

Foreign Policy: The Directorate is an official protectorate under the Holy Terran Empire. As such, they have no formal foreign policy of their own, and where they have room to manoeuvre, they follow Imperial dogma. They are extremely hostile in their sentiment towards outsiders, and very loyal to the imperial cause.
Allies: Holy Terran Empire
Size and Quality of Military:
The military of the Directorate can be called nothing if not bloated. She maintains a military too big for any comfort, mostly used to quell internal insurrections. There are little threats from without, although those menaces have grown in strength since the recent collapse of imperial control. The Directorate depends heavily on imports and funding from the empire itself to strengthen their military, which they do need to crack down on civil disobedience. Iscariot space is quite difficult to manage, and the current regime has grown increasingly cruel to combat this. Full orbital bombardments of populated areas are certainly not unheard of, be they rare.
History of Nation:
The Divine Directorate of the Eastern Iscariot was formed from the ruins of the Human Freestates, a loose confederacy of various planetary republics formed just east of the Empire. These people, fleeing religious persecution and seeking a more representative form of government, had gone eastwards outside the bounds of the empire to found themselves new states. Every planet got their own republic, slowly forming loose confederacies as cooperation grew. These people were mostly rural and agricultural, living off subsistence farming first before growing cash crops as the yield of their planets grew. Eventually, the Human Freestates were the source of a great deal of thee Empire’s agricultural imports. All was fine and well, the empire had only minimal control over these territories, not even taking the time to tax the relatively small market or to draft soldiers from the lightly-populated worlds.
That was, until the inhabitants found minerals. Uranium, the green gold, was discovered first on a few planets, then on more, and more, and more. It appears that the area was once home to a few very peculiar stars, which went supernova at around the same time, creating large quantities of uranium. The inhabitants were gleeful at first, seeing the uranium market as a way to make money to uplift their planets to greater heights. So, with the help of some foreign investors, they created space ports, mining infrastructure, factories and uranium centrifuges to refine their yield. All seemed well, until the Empire got wind of their discovery. Now, the Empire could allow a lot. The Human Freestates had gone untaxed, and they had not served in the imperial army. That was not a problem. But when uranium was discovered that whole paradigm shifted.
With a lightning strike, the Human Freestates were subjugated. The Freestates had little in the way of a military, they mostly used force of arms to resolve internal disputes or to fend off a roving band or two. They could not stand against the might of the Imperial Army. Planet after planet fell, with very few fights actually being drawn out to battle. It wasn’t as much as massacre as it was a pushover. Within two years, the Empire installed the Divine Directorate of the Eastern Iscariot, the new name for the region. Officially, the directorate fell outside imperial jurisdiction. While they do share a head of state, officially, the Directorate is her own state. This was necessary, because imperial legislature would not allow the kind of measures the Directorate wanted to take to pacify the region. The idea was that the region would be formally annexed after five years, when the population had settled down.
It didn’t settle down. Now, after twenty years of infighting, resistance and partisan action, the Iscariot humans have still not been entirely pacified. Religious differences, cultural differences, and the harsh work in the uranium mines has left these people bitter. The distance between the Directorate leadership, governing from their armoured space stations in orbit, and the general populace is enormous, both figuratively and literally. The skull and crossbones on the flag is meant to symbolise the unity of all mankind. To the Iscariot humans, it means nothing but oppression and death. With the empire now also being threatened from the outside, the Directorate cannot keep up her control of the systems forever. Something will have to give. Something will have to break, soon.
