When you have seen what i. Have seen then it is easy to. See why I am dark at times. I wouldn't say the "Unreal" many adults already here kn. The South are part off the Three Abraham Faiths (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam) we have neither confirmed or denied Religion is real.

I didn't have a sad childhood. I just realized that I couldn't stay trapped in the fantasy land adults build around kids forever, so I pulled myself out of it early. Needless to say, I was a very cynical kid.

I've had pretty serious depression issues(including occasional inclinations towards suicide) since I was eight years old, so... that wasn't exactly conducive to an innocent and childish lifestyle. XD

Ah. I was just assuming that even as a kid, you've seen much of the "dark" that this world possess, namely, the violent rules of the kingdom of children. Have you ever played Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance? One of the boss character, named Sundowner, pointed this out by saying "Kids, you can mold them into performing any kind of atrocities. Kids are cruel, Jack." Hikigaya Hachiman, the main character of My Teenage Romcom SNAFU (the only anime laden with a lot of social commentary by the main character himself), also pointed this out: "When people judge somebody, it becomes a fixed idea that lasts. A loner is forced to stay a loner. If you do your best at something and stand out, that'll only get used as a fodder for criticism. Those are the rotten rules of the Kingdom of Children." He was mainly talking about how kids doesn't like other kid(s) that stood out more than them, and will eventually find a way to turn that kid who stand out into someone below them.

In short, I was kind of thinking that maybe you were being bullied as a kid.

I think it's more of a sign of the pessimism of adults that they believe that the fantasy worlds they create for their children are better than the real one.

Personally, when I'm a parent, I'm not going to do all the stuff about fantasy for my kids. I'm just going to do my damnedest to make their lives fun instead of lying to them to give them a fabrication to believe in.

I actually noticed the "dark" aspect of the kids world very early. I wasn't really bullied. I just stopped trying to stand out from the other kids and when I did, I would often downplay my accomplishments. Not that it would have bothered me to be bullied, several people tried to bully me occasionally.... They ended up looking like complete idiots to the people standing around. Bullying me was impossible because I'd ignore the person, or I'd have more things to get them to shut up with, since I stopped trying to stand out long before they knew me.

I feel you. I've also had depression issues and severe mood swings since I was a child. I can't watch movies or the like since my mood changes so much during the show that it becomes impossible for me to comprehend why people do or think or why they feel the way did. I hated being forced to watch Disney movies so much.

I don't think I want to be a parent..... I'd probably end up disappointed because of everything, not to mention the fact that I hate the results I got in the DNA lottery. I don't really feel the urge or the need to pass on my shitty genetic material.

If you think about it like that, you should've noticed that life is full of disappointments. Life is one big damn gamble. It's like you're playing a VN or a RPG for the first time and have to gamble on what are the results of your answers to the NPCs. Like how you wanted to be a full-on hero that saves ladies and kicks monsters' asses every single day, but end up as a war-torn veteran who always questions all the things that he had done, thinking whether was it really necessary for him to butcher an entire clan of Orcs who may very well be have a civilization and live like humans just to save one damsel in distress, questioning whether was he really that different from the big bad. Nothing is certain in life, except for two things: changes and death. Life always changes, and life will always ends with death. The rest is uncertain. Every time you do something, you roll a dice. You can only hope for the results to not fuck you up too bad.

I stumbled upon this thread once. From there, I quip:

"In a good game, you fight for a dozen reasons, against men with similar drives and goals. You play politics, you fuck up. You try to do good, but often settle for trying not to make things any worse. You do your best, and hope that's enough.

And then one day you're on patrol, fighting in a war you've forgotten the reasons for, on a side that you can't say for sure is better than any other, and you come to a town. Someone's been there first. The men are dead. The children are crying. The women have been taken. And you remember who the hell you are, and you ride out and kick ass and bring those kids' mothers back to them."

The main thing I can understand from that, is that it doesn't matter whether the result would disappoint you and fuck you up or not. It's about can you make the fullest out of it or not. Who says if you're disappointed, then you have to stop trying? If you're a parent, you won't care about whether your kids disappoint you or not. You would try your hardest to get them as close as possible to the image of a child that you've always wanted them to be.

To be honest..... I can't really comprehend disappointment. I just use the word to describe what I interpret as it's meaning to other people. (I'm not a psychopath, I swear) Whatever you do shapes you to what you are today, no matter what. There is no such thing as regret (or at least I can't comprehend that either). It is simply something the Human mind created to make you feel better about your actions. Even if I knew that my children would be what I think is perfect (I've never actually thought about what could be, but I don't think there is something like that.).. I still wouldn't have any, simply because I don't feel the urge to secure the survival of my genetic material in any way. It's not something my cynical self thinks will improve the world.

Here in Switzerland we used to have a Bicycle test that you had to pass in order to be allowed to drive it. (You didn't get a license or anything, so nobody ever knew if you actually could or not.) We used to also have bike stickers that you'd need to buy every year in order to drive it (Kind of like the ones you buy for your car to be able to use the Highway.), but we got rid of those too.

Here it's a C permit. But it's also what I like to call the retard permit.
Because literally anyone that doesn't drive a fucking Harley tunes their bikes to make unholy noises to tag along with shitty rap music.
Of course, I don't mean high functioning retard.

Then again, I am kinda biased since I don't want to ride anything beyond a camping car, or a seriously big car.
But then again, it'd be useless since I'm going to move to Scotland in a few years or so.
Because someone thought that America was gahbage and thought it'd be nice to settle over there.

Sigh. What can't I do for friends.

In other news, I have a serious urge to start another TV Tropes competition.
One that I can win.

Black lives matter

Recommend me shoegaze and ambient music.

So long, Frank Lloyd Wright
I can't believe your song is gone so soon...
I barely learned the tune
So soon, so soon

Good luck with that.

Also, what is the equivalent of a bikes-only driving license in you country? Because that is what I just got a week ago. Fucking Indonesian bureaucracy.

You're going to move to Scotland? Oh, you're so lucky.

Although I'd never want to actually move there(so drastic!) I would freaking love to visit.

What sucks is that my parents are going to the UK for their anniversary this year. They're visiting all the cool cities and landmarks(including Baker Street, so I am so jealous). AND THEY'RE NOT TAKING ME.

Even that wouldn't be so bad if they weren't constantly talking about it. TO ME. They have no conscience.

I feel for you.
Each time my family tried to take holidays, shit happened.

I mean, last time we wanted to spend two weeks in Canada but then surprise cancer on my dad's spine.
It was a grand moment for us all.
Especially when he had to be sent to the hospital by carrying down the third story window.
Also he lost the use of his legs for a while.
It was lovely.

Oh my gosh, that's horrible! He's better now, though, I assume, since you said 'for a while'?

Well, sort of.
Since he always kinda wobbles around.
Also he can't stand for too long otherwise he basically gets back cramps.
And that's terrible, and painful.

But yeah, he's mostly recovered and the cancer left, so all's good I'd say.
Not like I was actually anxious either way, he's gone through way worse.
Several car accidents, an infected mosquito bite that needed to have him sent to the hospital, that, and also a good amount of him being wasted with alcohol.

But it's all good.

Eh, it's all good really.
It's just my dad being my dad.
Now he's all up on guns and all.
Hell, he's even got me my great grandpa's police gun.

I also shot with a revolver and it's awesome.
Tried to make the smiley, my aim is garbage at 25M, so I failed.
