You stand here and talk about all this but you leave out agriculture. And real estate, insurance, and wholesale industries! Whole industries that make up over half of this state’s economy! Coal makes up less than that but the shipment of our companies makes no difference! You’ll happily provide incentives to those companies but not the rest? Not to farmers? Why? I’ll tell you all why! He is in their pockets! The coal companies are running this Sheriff, running the show! They make up so little of the economy! That is why I advocate Fair Trade, one with incentives for the economies that this state needs and actually make it up! And those are facts.”

"West Virginians oppose same-sex marriage by a margin of more than three to one. After the Obergefell decision, and after events in Oregon and several other states that many considered to be violations of First Amendment rights, many West Virginians are fearful. How will you protect these people's religious liberties?"

"I believe that no Church, business, or institution should be forced to cater to Same-Sex couples based off of a single court ruling. I will do everything within my power as governor to ensure this, and will implore whoever our president is to take the beliefs of West Virginians into account when selecting Supreme Court justices. The first amendment comes before all, and it will never be violated by some suits in Washington to harm West Virginians under my watch."

"And if we legalize marijuana, which more than half the state supports so I guess half of those have seen my movies ain't that right Sinclair? And if we do, we will gave money to balance the budget! That is a plan Sheriff! Take notes. And this legalization will help cut nearly 20 million dollars in law enforcement costs! Most agencies support it! So who don't you?"

"Why yes I do. And my argument is plain and simple. The law is the law. And unless Sheriff Sinclair is not as patriotic as he says he is and doesn't respect the law himself, we all must. And that is that the Supreme Court is the law of the land. And we must accept gays and their marriage into society. If that law changes, I might reconsider change. But right now I am against this talk of fighting the law. It is disrespectful and downright hypocritical of the Sheriff."

Now onto the response.

It is very important for us to be very fair to both the LGBTQ community and the business owners, it is all about balance. i think that any business should have a right to serve whoever they want to serve, it is there business, and I believe in free enterprise therefore I believe strongly that small businesses who do not want to serve customers should be able to do so. However, they should have to do so respectfully, to make sure that both sides are treated fairly in the encounter."
