Thank you all for being here. We're going to start off on something that really impacts everyone here-the economy. There has been a great deal of talk recently on the coal industry here in this state, but over 97% of West Virginians work in industries other than coal. This is a question for Senator Blocker, and anyone can answer after him-how would you seek to grow the economy of West Virginia for those 97%?

"We do not have to look far for successes we can just look across the border to Virginia, in the past few years there has been tremendous economic growth bolstered by the IT industries, we have to ask ourselves why can we not have the industries? I propose new subsidies to help bring in IT companies into this state, along with a new education program designed to send more of our little ones to college to compete in the new economy. The fact is we have to start thinking about diversifying our economy, and IT is the future as shown in Virginia."

Now, while Senator Blocker is quite frankly bragging about his own career for god-knows how much money those IT companies are bribing him for, I instead believe we have numerous other industries we can maximize! The top industries in this state are science related, bio-tech, energy, and chemical production! We need to take advantage of that and built up scholarships for STEM jobs and introduce ways to help our state bring not just new people but young people into three growing fields!"

"Both of you spoke about subsidies, but right now, West Virginia has a $353 million dollar hole in the budget. How would you pay for all this spending, and for enough to cover the deficit?"

"Well the policies made by my Democratic governor colleague in Charleston have done good for the state, West Virginia has one of the highest rate of economic growth in the entire USA. You see more and more industries flooding in to our state, I will continue more deficit spending to uphold those policies, and with the growth of our economy more money will be paid in taxes balancing the budget."

That is what we call democracy and that is what the state is about!”

"Yes, I was rolling in money and sin. It is totally not like I’ve donated money to charity, West Virginian based charities at that! But that don’t count. You stand here and talk about all this but you leave out agriculture. And real estate, insurance, and wholesale industries! Whole industries that make up over half of this state’s economy! Coal makes up less than that but the shipment of our companies makes no difference! You’ll happily provide incentives to those companies but not the rest? Not to farmers? Why? I’ll tell you all why! He is in their pockets! The coal companies are running this Sheriff, running the show! They make up so little of the economy! That is why I advocate Fair Trade, one with incentives for the economies that this state needs and actually make it up! And those are facts.”
