As Fowler left the Second Lady's seating area, the two boys, who had followed the Senator all the way off of the field and to the stands, before being barred by the Secret Service there, sprang to their feet from the bench they had been waiting on. Tommy was quicker off the jump, and skidded to a stop in front of Fowler before his slightly younger brother.
"Hey, stop!"
Billy, rushing in a moment behind, reached out and tagged Fowler on the arm, then turned to Tommy with smug satisfaction on his face. "I'm first!"
His sibling quickly countered. "No, I got to him first!"
"You only got close to him, I actually tagged him first," Billy explained.
"You don't just go and touch people like that!" Tommy protested. "I was first, you were last!"
