"There's been some stormy weather in this immediate area, but I hope it passes" Kristen said with a little humorous dig at the current situation.

"Ah yes, it'll certainly pass - it'll have to or the day may only get worse if we let the Democrats win the game." Ashe continued along the humorous path of the conversation, "That's the thunderstorm I don't want to deal with."

"And I'm the one that that storm is going to break on if that does happen," Kristen said half jokingly though she was still concerned with that possibility. "So, are you going to be one of the guys that's going to try to chase off that storm?"

Ashe thought about the invitation for a moment, but not too long before answering, "I've you're offering a position then I won't be one to reject it. Quite honored you considered an old man like me."

Kristen was pretty happy that Amaras was given the thumbs up, since she hadn't meant to make it sound like an open offer, but it was all working out. "Well, it's not a guarantee. I'll still have to put you through your paces" she said in a slightly playful tone. "But I think you can pull it off."

Having sufficiently tortured his stubborn muscles, Appleby finally rose to his feet, tucking the roller under his arm and beginning a trek back towards the dugout. The field remained quiet, almost empty, with only two others on the playing surface, neither of whom he recognized as Democrats. He did not have any particular issue with that arrangement. So long as the others were there in time for the first pitch, he preferred the greater solitude, though it did come with the hurdle that, sans a teammate, staff, or machine, he lacked a thrower for batting practice, or a batter for fielding. He would make do.

Arriving at the dugout, he pulled a bag of balls out from his larger duffel of equipment, then unsheathed his bat, a small, slender cylinder of hickory, bringing both along to home plate.

Unknotting the bag, a task which stirred some frustration in its difficulty, Appleby removed a league ball, and settled into the left side of the batter's box. With the pair of players still in discussion on the field, he decided to have a bit of fun. Lofting the ball high enough to return his off hand to the bat to swing, he knocked a lazy line drive at the duo without any call of warning, instead collecting another ball to continue taking swings, tracing the first's path only in his peripheral vision.

Wilson catches up to the group, and notices Ashe, who he has never met. He decides to go up to him and introduce himself.
“Hello, Senator Ashe, is it? I’m Troy Wilson, junior Senator from Wyoming.” He offers out his hand for a handshake.

Kristen decided she would give up on trying to understand Wilson at least for the moment. "Hey, let's make our introductions inside. We've got to get practice in before the game."

Morton made his way to the spectators area after presenting ID to the security present at the event.

He was in his Giants/A’s cap and similarly split uniform, whistling “Take Me Out to the Ball Game.”

Darnell strolled out onto the field, he had been sitting inside for the past while, avoiding the whole Kramer situation. Although he didn't care for the game, he had decided to participate for bi-partisan reasons and he was dressed in the relevant baseball uniform.

Taking a quick drink from a water bottle that he had in his hand, Darnell scanned the rest of the field, looking for someone to interact with.

Still watching for the outcome of his first hit out of the corner of his eye, Appleby tossed his second ball and, without making a show of awareness, knocked it at the Mariner on the field, a modest line drive, looking to see how he would react.

With the field being virtually empty, Darnell watched as the Michiganite batted the ball towards him without warning. Darnell dropped his bottle and quickly moved towards it, opening his hand preparing himself to catch it. As the ball neared Joe made his final adjustments which ultimately moved him too far from the ball. After one last ditch lunge towards to incoming object, it skimmed past his fingers and landed and rolled a few meters away from him.

Samara begins warming up his pitching arm, focusing solely on throwing right handed. He had warmed up left handed privately before heading to the venue.

Fowler starts stretching and practicing catching popups and hitting.

Senator Wilson begins warming up at first base, practicing his timing on his throws and a general tag. After he does each for ten minutes, he then goes to the right handed batters box to practice. He swings and misses a few, but some he can hit 250 feet. Not bad for a guy whose last competitive sports game was playing for the failed New Jersey Gladiators of the almost failed Arena Football League.

Appleby settled back into the box, his lips twitching just a hair in the slightest of smirks at the much larger man's departure upon his demand.

The field appeared to be filling, and one player, at least, appeared to be focusing on throwing. Lacking a means of actually distinguishing the teams, something he found a rather clear flaw in the self-selection process for uniforms. Given that he lacked a coach to warm him up, a possibility of synergy had emerged.

He elected to get number eight's attention by the now-rote method of knocking a ball in his direction, another lazy liner, but again without warning.

Amaras made his own, unrushed way onto the field of play, strolling across the outfield expanse en route to the dugout, where he finally unshouldered the bag, dropping the equipment onto the bench with a grunt, with some mental grousing stemming from forgetting how long such a walk would be. He had split off from Linda Sue, and Mike trailing along with her, as she found her way to the seats, but his three older sons followed along with him.

"You probably need this," he dryly observed to the Republicans collected there.
