FINAL DEMOCRATIC DEBATE

Image

Welcome to our final Democratic debate here tonight in beautiful California. Tonight the remaining Democratic candidates will have their last chance to prove themselves to the voters before the final sets of primaries. We will be welcoming New Hampshire Governor Irina Kuznetsov, current leader in the race, Vermont Governor Robert Danders, in third, and Maryland Senator Anthony Conti, making his first appearance.

As usual candidates are given time to answer and we will ask follow-up questions, and if they are referred to they are given the right to respond until the moderators step in. We ask that the crowd stay quiet, except for a cheer right now
[Cheers]

as we get ready to welcome our candidates.

Each candidate will come up in reverse order of the polls, Senator Conti first, and get only one minute to make a brief opening statement.

"Hello America, let me be honest the past few months have been real hard work. Look the average politician may say that the whole campaign opened their eyes to the face of America, and all that jazz, but I am not one to mince words, like always, and to me it just confirmed my belief that the top one percent has been mistreating everyone else, people like Mayor Beaumont who talks about how he is a man of the people, but only pays his employees a starvation wage. What this campaign has done however is put a human face to all that suffering, just today I talked to a woman an employee of Mayor Beaumont's giant enterprises in Sacramento, and she told me how hard it was to raise her children with the starvation wage that Beaumont's company pays her. I knew that thing existed before, but now talking to these people.... I have no words for it. Then I see people like Beaumont, Democrats, and Republican establishment figures alike who support free trade, who support the gutting of American industry, it is horrendous how this is still happening.

I am running to make America truly great, I am running to make sure that every man, woman, and child gets paid a fair and equitable wage, I am running to be the voice of those who do not have a voice. To conclude I will say one thing: Now it Time For America.

"Thank you, it's good to be here. The American Dream is on the path to being a reality for more Americans than ever. But we have a long way to go. Students are straddling insurmountable debt, veterans are waiting to receive benefits, and this year, equality is on the ballot in many cases. We in the Democratic Party must strive to ease the concerns of the American people, and I believe I'm the candidate who can do just that. My aim is to cut tuition costs and invest in our future leaders, businessmen and women, entrepreneurs, etc, focus on improving green energy investments and output around the country to ensure a brighter future for all our children, and to engage in a foreign policy that will guarantee the safety of all Americans and our partners abroad. I hope to answer any questions with candor and to clear the air regarding my platform, and sell my case to the American people. Thank you."

"It has been a long campaign. Making a choice is hard, but its time to do it. I have a record of long experience. I have a record of success. I am proven myself as a real warrior for the people, a true representative of our values, and trustee of our futures. I have the skills, have the experience, and have proven it with what I have done. I made my state, healthy, safe, prosperous, and strong. Now we will do the same for America."

"This is a question for Governor Danders. Mayor Beaumont was a former Independent turned Democrat, and when the primaries started turning against him, he broke off, and has now started his own party. Governor, you were an Independent before running for this nomination. How much does party loyalty mean to you?"

"Well first things first, I caucus both with the Vermont Progressives and Vermont Democratic Party back home, so i do not see how I am not loyal to the Democrats. However in regards to him, Mayor Beaumont clearly knows that if he runs a successful campaign he will be throwing the campaign to Reed, and that means there will be a reversal in marriage equality under President Reed something that affect some people on this stage personally, and that alone makes it too dangerous to run a campaign. As I said before he knows that he is just sabotaging the Democrats, he knows that he is throwing the election to the Republicans, he is only in the race not for any values, because he has none, I repeat none, but he is in the race for himself and his own ego."

"I'm well aware of what is at risk with this election. Putting aside Mr. Reed's personal views on same-sex marriage, we all know that the GOP will either keep to the status quo of its anti-LGBT agenda, or it will swing further to the right. I agree with Governor Danders's assessment when it comes to the risks to LGBT equality, and that's why it is important for the LGBT community to come out in full force this election season."

It is not progressive to deny someone the right to marry who they want to marry. It is not progressive to suggest that being gay eliminates your moral compass.
