Didn't know how many legions Pompey had brought to Ital tho, did he leave some in Hispania? he must have or it could just revolt.

and when I said "we don't know that" I meant "we" as in Publius and Clodius

I mean, we know that he brought 5 legions to Italia. I presume there's more waiting back home.

So has Caesar made it clear why he is marching North?

Huh? I'm not marching north. Lepidus and Caesar's forces are moving into Italia and Octavian and Marc Antony's forces (on Caesars orders) are supposed to head into Hispania.

Wait, you do know that Vigils aren't a thing until fifty years later right?

Secondly, are we being allowed to "raise" more forces outwith our set troop strengths in the OP?

In any event I'll have a post up in a few

yeah, I know that. But Publius brought them in as Consul to please the plebs. That and the grain doll. Shame about the Urban Cohorts not exisiting, or the Legion at the Alban hills. They would be useful.

Plebs don't like burning

also, no, can't raise troops from Italy (Lunas said so)

You can raise more forces; they will, however, take a while to train and equip.

Can confirm, although I did say you could after Clodius is defeated (they'll still take time to train and equip).

also, most Plebs in Italia would support Clodius, not Pompey. The patricians might help Pompey though

Time to train sounds reasonable.

Megh, the people of Rome were notoriously fickle in their loyalties. They will not want to suffer a siege. Besides, it is the clients (and veterans) who'll do most of the heavy lifting.

Saying that I did come across the rules of (Early and a Late) Roman Republic RPs I did offsite. Once there is a colony in Cuba might true and get that up and running.

Or they will loath you for besieging them : )

But if the siege goes on long enough, rome will fall like all cities. Pompey would also become the most hated man since Coriolanus though.

@South Mauristan, if we do go with you takine three legions north, it would be best to fortify somewhere rather than fighting an open battle. It owuld have to be near (ish) to Rome itself to threaten Pompey's rear so he can't just march straight past on to Rome. Maybe Blera or Gravisca.

So I for one do not want my king to die next year as planned. Thoughts on an Egyptian-Cappodacian alliance Elepis?

It really depends on who Cleo sides with, if she goes with me (crassus) then unlikely as you support Caesar, but if she goes with Caesar then it could happen.

Going to have to bow out of this one. RL restraints means that I cannot take an active role and since Pompey is necessary to further the plot, I would be choking the RP.

If necessary I'll take over the role of Pompey.

Feel free to post then. By the standards of Kylaris rps, this is good. Usually we get bogged down in massive posts that takes days to write.

Also, Antony is reserved by Alouite.

I haven't really had the time today to make a post. Apologies.

Mind, I am fully capable of spitting out those super long posts. I choose not to for the sake of sheer pragmatism.

We don't have to be perfectly historically accurate. You can make someone up.

Judea's envoys are probably members of the Sanhedrin, or influential rabbis.
