History : The rise of Muhammad and his Islamic faith was a devastating force, something that nobody thought could be fought off. All seemed lost, the words and temples of Zoroaster subject to invading nomads who would see it all burn, Persian civilization gone. However, a miracle occurred: Persia and Byzantium led a joint effort to defeat the Islamic invasion of Persia, and the country was preserved. Inspired by a revived nationalism and sense of friendship with the Romans, old feuds were put aside and old respect brought to the forefront. Sassanid interests turned elsewhere, and peace with old enemies was found for all to enjoy.

Islam as a religion found its way across the Indian Ocean in due time, but Persia remained resolute. As the country entered into the Medieval era, and the influence of Islam grew, the Persians rebuilt themselves to adapt. Lesson learned, they built a strong defensive border all around the state. In the 10th century, slow excursions were made into Afghanistan: trade posts were established, military garrisons given thus, treaties were written with nearby tribes, and ultimately the Afghans came under Persian subjugation by the 11th century in most senses of the word, although they were granted high autonomy so as not to offend, and those in power were left in such. As a result, the Zunbils were typically considered the satraps of Afghanistan so as to appease their pre-existing dominance.

In the 12th century, excursions were made attempting to reclaim Parthian ruins from the Turkish invaders. 3 wars were fought over the course of 50 years, with a temporary governance set up in the area to be ultimately repelled at the end of the third war. It became evident that the current strategies were not working, as the Turks knew all of the same strategies and deployed them effectively. A reorganization was in order: new military schools were founded across the empire, more pikes and spears were produced to deal with the cavalrymen, and forces were amassed on the border to provide a powerful initial rush. By the time this was all organized, however, the Mongol invasion occurred. The forces were repurposed to fight off the Mongol horde, and although heavy casualties were sustained, the anti-cavalry implements in coordination with mountainous terrain preserved the majority of Persia in-tact and outside of Mongol control.

It was during this same period, immediately following the invasion, that a new social restructuring would occur. The shahanshah, looking at the Muslims and the empires around him, asked his Jewish wife for counsel. Her response was to eliminate the Persian castes, and to allow a freer trade than had been previously given. So he did: the merchants and artisans were no longer the bottom of society, and multiple trade posts were established, with delegates offering the finest Persian goods, bringing along trails of dancers, musicians, and poets to the Mongols to ask them in a great show of Persian culture to direct the Silk Road through Persia once more, that the empire had much to offer and was now much more merchant-friendly. Thus, the silk roads were more open to Persia than they had once been, and trade flowed as it did in the older days. inspired by this, the shahanshah would likewise reinstate multiple ancient institutions that had long ago fallen into disrepair, reorganizing Persia to be independent of the outside influences that had crept in and making it a much stronger local culture, with reforms to architecture, infrastructure, society, and economy all coming across the next few centuries.

By 1500, Persia had completed reorganization of institutions to eliminate the corrupted priesthood and the power it had held, old roads were rebuilt, trade posts established, and universities founded and refounded. Jews and Afghans were given full legal rights, as it had once been, to encourage both internal stability and the trade roads that both ethnicities had strong connections to. This trend would continue as Persia fiercely guarded and promoted the Silk Road trade routes so as to secure its own position as a relevant power. However, with increased prosperity came increased opportunity, and piracy began to grow along the Persian coastline. Measures were put in place to eliminate and suppress such acts, but the valuable Indian Ocean marketplace proved too tempting. In due time, the Persian coastline fell to pirates as Persia redirected resources to once again secure itself.

As the centuries went, Persia would put in full effort to secure what borders it retained. Although peace with the Romans was achieved, it was unsteady. The pirates were kept at bay, although they always managed to repel invasions. The Indians could not be trusted, nor could the nomads to the north. Although Persia continued to advance itself in hopes to keep up with the rest of the world, its relevance in the world stage began to shrink due to a lack of colonialism. Persia had interest in such manners, but lacked the coastline to launch ships from. Although, recent incidents have ended up transferring pirate lands to Korean hands, which sparked outrage across the Persian Empire. Little could be done, claimed the shahanshah, although plans have been in the works since the Korean capture to reclaim the territories, either diplomatically or otherwise.

I think it is very possible they all could have, they were like the only monarch's russia seems to have had in this rp that was actually progressive and friends of the little people. Not to mention in the first russian civil war he sort of eliminated most of the nobility.

Well, the guidance also basically states that the Silk Road(s) remain in full service, in some parts replacing the over-sea routes later sought since Persia was friendly and free. That basically shifts up Central Asia stretching into India and the Middle East as well.

Guidance Description : The second Russian civil war saw the result of infighting between Perm church authority faction and Russian Nobles faction regarding the Constantinople and Ecumenical Patriarch question. A few deciding battle however, ended it in stalemate.The Church, full of zealotry and won't admit that they have lost their power to change the Tsar decision, decided to instead secede from the corrupted noble entirely and establish proper country for themselves in the Holy City of Perm, the Second Constantinople and The Third Rome.

The Church of Perm then differentiate themselves from old Orthodoxy on many values in the name of separation from Orthodox Russia ,establishing new schism to legitimate the secede from Russian empire which forces Constantinople to call new diet of Nicea and brand the church heretic. In return, Perm call their own diet of Perm and call the Constantinople Orthodox has fallen to greedy Emperor and bishops and brand them heretic as well, in place however, Perm declared that their own church and faith is the true successor of the lost and fallen Orthodoxy.

This ensues further conflict. The Noble and now the Tsar (who tried very hard to be neutral) declared that the Church really got too powerful and rebelling against the state of Russia and Orthodoxy itself. But this is a poor choice of words, for the already unstable state and poor economy of Russia thanks to civil war created discontent among the minority and peasantry. Nationalist factions now revolted as well, claiming that neither Russian state or Russian faith is in anyway business of people ethnically and religious different (in which popular in Poland tha is Catholic), while others declare that this split is going too far and the people itself who will decide this (which is popular in the rest of Orthodox-Perm Russian territory). Skip sometime and fighting later, and the dust of fighting settled on the loss of Tsar and Russian nobles, as minority nobles switched to favor the nationalist. Russia carved and split between the church power and ethnic lines, while Russia proper considered to be now lawless wasteland from the still going infighting between religious factions and remain unclear whether order can be hold there without foreign occupation.

To avoid any new claim on the recently independent church, Perm call the newly-risen nationalist governments in neutral land of Denmark. Called the Copenhagen Treaty, the gathering manage to agree that no state that newly independent from Russia shall take the mantle of it. Russia itself also considered to loss all claim and core from the newly independent area. This cemented legitimacy for all the new state that pop out in eastern Europe.

• Orthodoxy once again split between Constantinople authority and Perm authority, and the faith of the people in all ex-Russian and Orthodox land will be split as well.
• To avoid the same fate of rebellion, all of European government politics will swept and affected heavily by the wave of authoritarianism
• In contrast, European populace get more militant (and especially hard in Eastern Europe), thanks to the rising Nationalism from the collapse of Russia and the recent split of Orthodoxy faith
• Nationalism fervor raised in Europe
• New Religious movement (like American Second great awakening) appeared in Europe's populace

History :

...The Priest and the Bishopric of the newly created church of the Russian Orthodox however, did not exactly happy with this arrangement. Most of them shifted from the faith of Constantinople Orthodoxy because they cannot accept that a guy can call himself the Patriarch of the church simply because of he was born in the right family. To them, the leader of the faith must be someone who devoted himself to the faith, life by the faith, and walks among the faithful, among them. They look in jealously to how the Western faith works, on how a priest, instead a king get cheered as the patriarch of the belief. They believed in Orthodoxy, but longed for the system that favor their kind like Catholicism did.

But they cannot expressed it yet, religion is nothing but perseverance, faith, utmost devotion, and they will pour everything of it. if they wanted the whole Russia to stripped their king from the title of Patriarch, they need to do it on low radar to avoid both Heretic brand and the wrath of the Tsar. So soon the priest and bishops of Russian Orthodox work their way into all the churches in the country, teaching their belief and guide the sheep of the lord to see what class should led them to heaven. And yet, they truly subtle about it, they evoke no attention from Eastern Patriarch in Moscow yet apart from being Tsar little ambition, even the Tsar himself think that Russian Orthodox is with him even in certain occasion, some of the younger priest blurted it too clear that the King shouldn't be the patriarch, how foolish of him.

After a long period of time, they finally did it. From the city of Perm to the land of Kazakh and the colonist land of Siberia, many of the believer subconsciously have called to the Perm Priest for their guidance instead. Russia proper split into two, and those who follow Constantinople authority there began to dwindle each day as the officially Tsar recommend "Russian Orthodoxy" instead. In the land of Rus and Poland, its unfortunately harder thanks to the distance, but the priest have secured quite a lot of pocket amount of fringe "Perm believer" in the area anyway. It's gearing up for the completion, to the time where the priest can rule Eastern People from the trapping of the Emperor and Tsar!

Then the worst thing happened, Tsar itself betray the church he created for his stroke of ego. He planned to visit Constantinople to mend the divide that he created with Russian Orthodoxy with the authority of Rome. The priest didn't sit still, they try to call off the whole thing and suggest the tsar to think again, but unfortunately the Nobles who saw the raise of popularity of Priests in peasantry came as an enemy. They says it's Tsar right as the Patriach and the ruler of the state to do whatever he liked. This is the very notion that no one in Priest circle would appreciate. Cold war ensues between the factions, and The Tsar wisely postpone his visit to calm the tension. But when a reckless noble exile a priest from his land, the civil war broke out.

Skipping the hectic situation and a few battle, the civil war has ended in simple stalemate. The Russian Orthodoxy Church, full of zealotry and won't admit that they have lost their power to change the Tsar decision, decided to instead secede from the corrupted noble entirely and establish proper country for themselves in the Holy City of Perm, the Second Constantinople and The Third Rome. They now call themselves as the believer of Perm faith, not Russian. The nobles and the leader of Russia has betrayed them. The Church of Perm then differentiate themselves from old Orthodoxy on many values in the name of separation from old Orthodox Russia, establishing new schism to legitimate the secede from Russian empire which forces Constantinople to call new council of Nicea and brand the church heretic. In return, Perm call their own diet of Perm and call the Constantinople Orthodox has fallen to greedy Emperor, kings, and corrupted by gold and glory bishops, branding them heretic as well, in place however, Perm declared that their own church and faith is the true successor of the lost and fallen Orthodoxy.

This ensues further conflict. The Noble and now the Tsar (who tried very hard to be neutral) declared that the Church really got too powerful and rebelling against the state of Russia and Orthodoxy itself. But this is a poor choice of words, for the already unstable state and poor economy of Russia thanks to civil war created discontent among the minority and more confusion for the peasantry. Nationalist factions now revolted as well, claiming that neither Russian state or Russian faith is in anyway business of people ethnically and religious different (in which popular in Poland tha is Catholic), while others declare that this split is going too far and the people itself who will decide this (which is popular in the rest of Orthodox-Perm Russian territory). Skip sometime and fighting later, and the dust of fighting settled on the loss of Tsar and Russian nobles, as minority nobles switched to favor the nationalist instead losing with their oppressor . Russia carved and split between the church power and ethnic lines, while Russian land proper considered to be now lawless wasteland from the still going infighting between religious factions and remain unclear whether order can be hold there without foreign occupation.

But Perm, the holy city of Perm! The Second Constantinople and The Third Rome is far away from this hell-hole. It's gloriously victorious against the heretics. Now the Holy church and the Priest can finally rule the Eastern masses, but not just as leaders of faith, but also the state itself. The Holy church claim the big swath of land to the east where the population is devotedly for the Church. After a short re-organizing, the land is now truly under their control, and a new chapter of struggle open for the new Perm faith and its Church.

Army Strength : The Army is seen as the core defense of the nation due to the rather weak navy. They're motivated, recruited from all parts of the nation, and hold a standard of meritocracy. All within the army are expected to have to work to reach higher status within the high command, and the generals are expected to know at least have basic knowledge in fighting in the frontline as well as an educated background in order to develop the necessary tactics to organize their units.
Army Weakness : Compared to other European nations the Commonwealth is on the poorer in the end of the spectrum leaving most of the equipment of the Polish outdated, having recently separated from the Russian Empire the majority of the recruits coming into the military are poor farmers or peasants. This leads to many of the tactics developed taking a longer time to implement as since many of the soldiers lack a proper education it takes them longer to be taught on what to do. This also leads to the training of the soldiers taking longer as well and in a state of war can even lead to some soldiers being pulled out of training early to fill spots up in ranks.
Naval Strength : The Navy out of all the remnants of the Russian Empire as the fairest borders and coastal area. This allows the nation to focus more funds into the navy to equip them as well as keep them updated to defend the coastline.
Naval Weakness : The Navy is largely outdated and suited only to protecting the coast of the country this is due to position of the coastline at the moment being focused in the Black Sea. History :
In the 1830s a paper titled "Pax Slavia" was written, it it called for not only peace among the Slavs, but a national homeland for them as well. While initially lacking in sales and popularity the paper grew as it was printed in a variety of different languages and spread along Eastern Europe. Its popularity would first gain strong popularity among the Serbs and then spread north and east to the Polish, Ukrainians, Belorussians, and even the Russians themselves.

Peace would be in the empire until the 1840s. The growing Slavic nationalism within the west of the empire along with the growing religious divide in the nation would grow and grow as both sides of the Russian Empire grew ever more apart. In the far west of the country along the areas that would soon form the commonwealth the various royals in the then Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth vied with each other to become lead monarch of the nation. Starting in the 1850s however as the divide grew in the Russian Empire the Polish would Slavic ideals to all areas that they could reach and even into the southern reaches of Coureland. This was done due to a combination of factors in different areas. In Poland the people longed for the old days of their empire and in reading the "Pax Slavia" they heralded it as a way to create the greatness that their empire once had. In Ukraine and Belarus the reason to separate was difference. Many were beginning to feel to subjugated under Russian culture especially as they were beginning to be referred to as "Little Russians" or "White Russians". This caused disdain in many groups especially those who lived in Minsk as well as Kiev. Many supporters of this Slavic nationalism used "Pax Slavia" as a means to further cause a split in the Russian empire by appealing to these groups. They talked of a country in which the Belorussians and Ukrainians would be referred to themselves in their natives tongues instead of as the Little or White Russians, and in Poland many speaker called for the time that Poland seize its chance to not only recreate their empire but to create a nation designed to protect all encompassed within. With these goals set in mind massive protest began to spring in these areas as the "People's Army of Slavic Protection"(PASP) would be created during this time in an effort to protect protesters and intellectuals. Day by day the movement grew with areas within Poland-Lithuania becoming more rowdy and violent. At this time in the 1850s the Tsar was beginning to see that his kingdom had overextended and with relations growing between the church and state the Tsar would agree to meet with the revolutionaries.

As "Pax Slavia" grew a greater foothold the people wouldn't be content with a Polish crown leading this movement. As infighting grew however the people of the empire had already decided on their monarch. Her name was Kvitka Nesty. A middle class woman she had grown in popularity first in Ukraine for her charitable acts in the country by helping teach in schools as well as working as a nurse. In the late 1940's she would gain massive popularity as she toured around the west of the empire and committed many charitable acts. To avoid potential uprising in the west the states of Belarus, Poland, and Ukraine were asked to vote for their leader. The majority overwhelmingly voted for Kvitka. With their monarch not voted in, Kvitka would act as the head of the revolutionaries as her and the Tsar met within Kiev. After 4 days of negotiation the Tsar on June/13/1855 would agree to release the Areas of Poland-Lithuania, Ukraine, Belarus, and Moldova to the revolutionaries to create their own state.

Years since The Commonwealth has made progress albeit slow. More businesses then ever are sprouting up in the nation as the nation looks to return to its old multicultural roots of the past when it was just the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. In this regard they accept those from all faiths rather they be Muslim, Jew, or Christian. Despite this however the country puts priority of its fellow Slavs first before all others and migration to the country has steadily gone harder to do as the Office of Migrations is making a point to accept those of sufficient Slavic blood first. Despite this the country continues to see growth and with the growth of business and trade the focus of the country is continue in harmonizing many of the religious folk in the country as well as modernize its infrastructure and military.

Taurica was a Roman satellite state filled with Roman military bases anyway. I'm just going to formally impose the Roman control over it.
