Biography
Born in San Diego, Harper’s upbringing was a difficult, and unstable part of her life. Her mother was often away at sea, serving her country in the United States Navy, and thus, wasn’t always a part of her daughter’s life. Instead, Harper spent much of her childhood with her grandparents. While they were always loving, Harper never felt truly at home with her Grandparents. Instead, Harper spent much of her childhood waiting and daydreaming that her mom would return and whisk her away, and never leave her alone again. But it was merely a dream.
Fortunately, or perhaps more unfortunately, Harper was born behind enemy lines in Roman territory. Despite this, Harper was well into her teenage years by the time the Romans found her.
Despite her Grandparents doing everything they could to give Harper a good upbringing, it was never enough for Harper. She was always restless. Often running away from home, or getting involved in petty crime. At age thirteen, Harper’s mother was killed in the line of duty, which only further exacerbated her rebellious nature. Her delinquency came to a head a year later at the age of fourteen. Harper and several of her friends stole a car, but were soon pursued by the police. In the ensuing chase, Harper accidently sent the car careening over a guardrail, and straight into the ocean.
Though Harper had never swam a day in her life, she managed to escape from the car, and one by one pull each of her friends to safety. After that incident, Harper’s life changed perhaps for the better. Her grandfather sat her down for a talk, and told Harper this wasn’t what her mother would have wanted. The path that she was leading would only end in misery, and that if she didn’t get her act together, she wouldn’t be able to live with her Grandparents any longer, the only home she had ever known.
Harper joined her school’s swim team, and by the time she entered High School, she was the reigning state champion in each of her events. By the looks of it, Harper was well on her way to the Olympics. But, with her fame at Swimming came the suspicion by the Roman Villas that perhaps Harper was a Demi-God. Their suspicions were proven correct when Harper was attacked by monsters at a swimming competition. In the ensuing chaos, both of Harper’s grandparents were killed by the monsters, shattering Harper’s world. Just before she would have joined her Mother in the Underworld, the Romans came to her rescue, forcing the monsters to flee, and taking Harper into their custody.
When it became apparent that Harper was in fact Poseidon’s daughter, the Romans ended up sending her eastward, to Mount Olympus. Once at Mount Olympus she began to integrate into her new life with great difficulty, but with the help of Anthony Hoffman and others, she was able to come to terms with what had transpired, and what her new life was. After being claimed by Poseidon, Harper was pushed through demi-god training at which she passed with little difficulty in no small part due to her athletics.
She was part of the quest with Anthony to slay the Amphisbaena, which miraculously did not end in failure. But, because of her reckless nature, Harper put the whole quest in jeopardy when she charged headlong into the Amphisbaena’s lair, rather than proceeding with caution. She earned herself a nasty scar as a daily reminder of her failure.

The Romans are more warlike, but they generally prefer violence of an organized fashion.

Wanna know the irony? The Romans' ability to be less rigid and structured than the Greeks is what allowed them to win. While the Greeks fought in a phalanx line, the Romans had tactical squads that could outmaneuver the phalanx and do things like wrap around, unlike the stiff Greek lines.
The Greeks also questioned whether the Roman were even human, because while a spear is a stab and some blood, the Romans used primarily swords, and sword combat leads to dismemberment, lacerations, disembowelment, and a slew of other visually horrifying things.

True, spear-stabbing let you sleep better at night.

The fighting mindsets of the two demigod factions resemble the historical mindsets. The Romans are much more fluid yet disciplined & organized while the Greeks, with the lack of a phalanx, can be pretty unorganized if left to their own tools.
If you want warlike, the Romans would be a better fit for you. If you want more freedom and such, the Greeks are a better fit.
