Stockholm
Gothenberg Confederation
September 25th 2054 AD
12:00

Months before, the formerly sovereign nation of Denmark had voted to join the Gothenberg Confederation, and shortly afterward several more southern provinces were transferred to the United Republic of Europe, as agreed, and somewhat to the disappointment of the Gothenbergi government, but a deal was a deal, and they did not want to pick a fight with the United Republic of Europe. At the moment, President Ernman and Minister Jakobsson were writing a series of missives to some of their allies, in particular the URE and the Northern Slavic Empire...

The Gothenberg Confederation is happy to enter into a trades union with the Northern Slavic Empire, though it should be made known that the Confederation is currently entered under the European Trade Union made by the United Republic of Europe. We believe that this may present a conflict of interest in the event of entering both unions at the same time. The Confederation would like assurance that, should the Confederation enter PECO, it will not have to leave the URE's Free Trade Union.

If it does not, we would be happy to join.

May our nations prosper in unity.

Creating a more shared economy

Coat of Arms temporary, this Coat of Arms is subject to change within the next 2-4 months.

As you know, the Gothenberg Confederation has recently gone through an economic crisis as a result of the former Nordic Treaty, and another collapse is projected by our economic specialists in the near future due to the collapse of the US economy. As such, we plead that you consider allowing the Confederation to enter under some form of a shared economy agreement, soas the Confederation's economy does not collapse completely, at least until the Gothenbergi economy can stand up on its own relatively well.

I pray that you will consider this with mercy in mind.

May our nations prosper in unity.

The citizens rejoiced as the Medical convoy rolled into the camp, carrying the first batch of the Ataxia cure bought from the URE. It would take weeks for all the people shipped way out in the countryside to get the cure, but in the end the Government never had to resort to as extreme measures as it had feared.

Lately, the nation had not been making as many military advances as it had wished, and despite the impending economic fall, President Patrick Ernman decided to begin a mass initiative into working on the nation's non-nuclear missile system, creating comprehensive first- and counter-strike plans in case the Russian nation decided to attack the Confederation. In addition, the government begins seriously considering implementing the missile defence system the Northern Slavic Empire had previously offered to sell to the Confederation. Finally, defensive fortifications are started along the relatively small Swedish-Finnish border in the case of a Russian first strike. The Confederation claims that this is only for defensive purposes.

The Confederation also starts looking into updating its aging Vehicle fleet, and updating its Gauss-based weaponry systems. The Navy also begins looking towards overturning most of its Nordic Treaty-era ships, moving towards a doctrine more based on Ship-to-Ship and Ship-to-Land missiles than tradition naval guns, and also begins research into laser-based Anti Air weaponry.

Malay Confederacy announces cooperation with Pramilandert

Following the example of the Chinese and Russians, General Lao Cinta Ratu announced his goal to cooperate further with Pramilandert. Despite this, he has been quick to state that the sovereignty and security of Malay and its people are its primary concern. Many believe that this has been a large-scale diplomatic effort by Pramilandert into creating an alliance to succeed the KCZ.

Birth of the Praha Economic Cooperation Organization

The Praha Economic Cooperation Organization, otherwise known as PECO, was a proposal introduced by the Slavic Empire to create an economic community. Dacia was the only nation in the Balkans to accept the proposal, the rest of them believing the trade organization would only harm their manufacturing economic sectors.

Vizer Rebellions; Anatolian Civil War

Over the past three weeks, pro-Sultan sentiments have been seen throughout the Sultanate of Anatolia. Through Mersin to Istanbul, major cities saw rioters and rebels alike take to the streets in support of ultra-nationalism. The worst city, however, was in the heartland of the nation itself: Istanbul. The city had nearly no supporters for the Commune, despite being the place for the rallies. Rebellions were held in nearly every city on the west end of the nation, the radical switch from one extreme to another left supporters aggressive. Police have been completely unable to quell the rebellions which have engulfed nearly half of the nation, waving banners of radical support for the former Vizer. The Sultan, which has done nothing but allow the Socialist to take charge, has been seen as nothing but weak by the people. Muhammet Tahsin, an Anatolian noble with direct ties to the former leaders of the Ottoman Empire, has been lifted up as the savior of their nation by the rebels. The Anatolian Civil War has begun.

Image

Third Chinese Civil War

The situation in China has gotten worse since the rise of Empress Rougang. An unavoidable consequence of the violence in China, the international community has now classified the situation as "Civil War-like." Although factions have conceded to the ultimatum issued by the Emperess, most continue to fight for independence. Factions and secessionist movements have only grown, mutinies have been widespread in the armed forces which have only dwindled the number of soldiers further. The GFI has estimated that the Chinese military is evenly matched, or even outmatched, by the sheer amount of occupying the nation.

Crime grows in Brazil

The Brazillian government's ruthless crackdown on rebellions has been effective so far. The wounded country of Brazil has begun to recover in terms of politics, but not in terms of crime. Many of the former rioters went underground, and crime has seen drastic growth in the past weeks. Many believe that, with the weakened Brazilian police force and with foreign threats, crime will remain a problem for decades to come.

Anatolian War of Imperialism

Thousands of soldiers from the Balkan Initiative arrive have arrived on the border of Turkey, ready to defend their homeland. The primary Anatolian assault was massively successful, Crete and multiple other islands fell while Athens resisted. The rebellions in Istanbul drastically slowed supplies, and the Balkan forces were able to hold the Anatolians from advancing further. It has been reported that forces from IDF nations have faced eachother on the battlefield, which is causing concern about the stability of the alliance.

Fall of Quebec City

After several weeks of fighting, Quebec City fell to the Northern Empire. The city took heavy damage, with hundreds of buildings being destroyed at the ruthless advance of the Empire. Further advancements have been slower and have cost a large amount of casualties, guerrilla warfare has been employed in the hostile territory of Northern Quebec.

Treaty of Prishtina

A Treaty was signed between the Yugoslav Cartsvo and Albania in Prishtina. After the Balkan League pulled support from Albania in response to the situation with Anatolia. They both came to a comprehensive peace agreement, keeping in mind that the war would be too costly for complete victory. Albania ceded Kosovo to the Jugoslav Cartsvo, but in response the Cartsvo would pay for all damages in the war. There would be no war between the nations for 5 years.

March on Madrid

Fidel Martinez, former leader of what is now known as the Empire of Pramilandert, lead a March on Madrid on Wednesday morning. Along with a force of revolutionaries, he attempted to execute the Governor of Spain. Some police forces joined his cause and the charge into the Governor's home was successful. Currently, the forces have been locked in the city by the United Republic military. Similar rebellions, inspired by the March on Madrid, have taken place but have not been nearly as successful. The European high command has yet to make a decision on how to handle the situation, but it is believed the solution will see rivers of blood on the streets of Madrid.

Victorian Federation invades Uganda

After stubborn denial of joining the Victorian Federation, President Tamrat announced his intent to make Uganda join. His reported justification was the injustice and destruction the Ugandan authoritarian isolationism is doing. Citing the extremely high poverty rate and low national wealth as reasons to forcefully annex them. The Ugandan King has not responded as of the time of this was written.

Venetian Government ousted

The Venetian Government was ripped from power this morning following a series of rebellions in Venice. Supported by militia groups from Padamia and Miramo, the unelected government was exiled to Graxium. The new Venetian government held elections the week following the coup and is ruled by a shaky, yet functional, council of six officials.

Crime in Central America

Following the violent transition of power between Mexican Emperors and the release of Central America, crime has resurfaced in Latin America. Cartels have grown in power significantly over the past four months, and the two governments holding land in the area have been unable to control their spread. It is reported that police have been paid off by the Drug Cartels already, and it appears it is up to the military to step in. In the United States, specifically the border states with Mexico, has seen a rise in underground drug trafficking through the border.

Aganju Regime invades Zambia

Following the isolation crisis currently facing the Aganju Regime of South Africa, an expanding CLONE threatening to surround them on all sides and to block any power gain to the Regime, a rapid expansion policy has been taken up by the government. Neutral Zambia, which has long had a neutral outlook to African relations, has seen hundreds of thousands of Aganju soldiers pour over their shared border. Large portions of the country have been occupied by the Regime, and their assault seems unstoppable.

Anarchist Protest in Santo Domingo

After the ban on anarchism put in place by the Haitian government, revolutionary leader Gaby Robineau marched an army of protesters down the streets of Santo Domingo. It was an unarmed protest, heavily contrasting from the revolutions and riots which have been plaguing the world for centuries. When asked about his peaceful approach, Robineau has been quoted as saying "Change through revolution only creates further instability, and only strengthens a collapse back to an unsatisfactory system."

Mass-shooting in the Amazon Theater; 84 confirmed dead

Tragedy struck Manaus this afternoon, three armed men butchered a crowd of bystanders in the Amazon Theater during an opera performance. 84 have been confirmed dead and an additional 100 injured. The men were eventually brought down by a special unit of police, but not without losing some of their own. While most believe that this was an attempt to show the hatred of the natives towards Pramilandert, many others point the evidence of weapons manufactured in the United States as evidence of foreign involvement.

Malawi Collapses

Brought on by the American Economic Collapse of 2054, the Malawi economy completely imploded. Large portions of Dakar flooded this afternoon, after storms continued to barrage the city for days on end. Large portions of the city have been cast underwater, and international aid is needed now more than ever. Census shows growing Pramilandert population

Over the past year, census taken inside Pramilandert have shown a slight increase in the population growth rate. While this spike in growth has not been considered a population boom by the International Institute for Population Figures, it may tell of things to come. Many, however, believe that Pramilandert is too developed to face a major population boom in the future.

In the field outside Dakar tents for people who found themselves in the zone of the flood were raised. In one, bigger tent that served as kitchen, dinner area, several refugee families that have escaped from the flood in Dakar crowded around one of the laptops as president gave his speech on the evening news. The face of the president Léopold Kane was grave yet he had a fatherly expression:

"Dear citizens of Dakar

It is my duty to proclaim state of emergency in Dakar province due to recent floods. Also I have ordered 10th airborne regiment of the Malinese Armed forces to move into Dakar to aid with evacuation of those unfortunate people that are still in stricken areas as well as to help improvise levees and dams. Emergency meeting of Malinese Congress had been called to asses the offers for new urbanization renewal plan that I had received and to accept those that they deem most helpful. I ask you citizen to stay firm and to help each other in the time of need because your country hadn't forgotten you.

Bill: Offers of foreign agencies to help with the flooding of African coastline

[/spoiler]

[spoiler=The Imperial China's Architecture and Engineering Division ]Name of nation/company: The Imperial China's Architecture and Engineering Division

Estimated time of your construction project: 2-2.5 years

Estimated price of your construction project in USD: 15-17BN

Short description of the solution: Dams, Drainage systems, SFL raising
[/spoiler]

Name of nation/company: North African Federation - Al-Kalna Cooperation
---
Estimated time of your construction project: 3 years
---
Estimated price of your construction project in USD: to be calculated
---
Short description of the solution: construction of flood resistant housing, use of super absorbent concrete hopefully in pair with a European Scientific Company that created the substance, installation of flood warning systems, damming and mass drainage systems
---
Signed by: President Kamal Ibrahim of the North African Federation

Members of Congress are invited to vote upon one of these solutions.

Discussion:

Socialists: NAF solution seems best this far because it offers to provide free sustainable housing for people caught in the sinking area. The inability to calculate the costs shouldn't be considered an argument against the proposal because it would be wrong for government to try to say budget funds at the expense of vital needs of it's population.

Greens: We fully support the NAF solution.

Nationalists: We would like to remind this congress that the solution offered by Chinese is the cheapest. The world is in financial crises and this is no time for populist measures.

Results:

NAF: 219 votes
Pra’arazia :0 votes
China: 56 votes

The offer of North African Federation will be accepted

Kane was just leaving TV studio when his cellphone rang. It was his Secretary of State Hassan Rugwi. Kane responded.

"Comrade Rugwi?"

"Comrade president, our ambassador to Zambia just called me. Aganju soldiers have started their occupation of Zambia."

"Occupation? But Zambia has been neutral so far..."

"Yes! It is a brutal warmongering move. We should call for condemnation of Aganju regime."

"I'll do that as soon as I get to my office!"

From: Léopold Kane, president of Mali Confederation
To: Government of South Africa

Your move against peaceful and neutral republic of Zambia represents an act of blatant aggression. From now on all diplomatic relation between our countries are severed. In addition all assets of South African companies and citizens operating in Confederation of Mali are going to be frozen and nationalized. We demand that you withdraw armed forces from Zambia immediately. Otherwise we will be forced to ask for international intervention in form of economic sanctions against your government.
"

From: Léopold Kane, president of Mali Confederation
To: Alreyyat Khiym , MFIAR

Esteemed Minister of the Realm
We accept Your offer and we would like to ask your national bank for a loan of 10 billion $ without any interest and with four year deadline. We hope to have long peaceful cooperation between our friendly African countries. It is important that we come to each other's aid and maintain the spirit of mutual solidarity.

Léopold Kane

Elections

Mali Independant

The candidate of main opposition party Koy Massare have spoken to our journalist regarding floods and anarchist movement. He called the president's decision to deploy troops to help with the flooding "a poorly thought-out act". Anarchist danger in the south is still looming and prevention of floods should have been a priority- employment of troops to assist weakens our southern borders against terrorists. Koy Massare said voters will like to know what had been done in the past four years to prevent this catastrophe. Current deal with North African Federation about damming the shore and building flood resistance housing he called a populist trick of failed communist government.

President Kane also spoke to us. He reminded his opponent that his government had been in power for eight years before him and had done nothing to alleviate the effects of flooding. Primary function of the armed forces is to defend the people against danger- at present floods endanger more people then anarchists. President had called Massare's objection to such use of military "a warmongering rhetorical babble" that won't help those stricken by floods in any way.

There are two weeks to election and our polls show following results:

Léopold Kane (Party of Democracy and Unity) :51 % (+4%)
Yassour Kirwan (Green Party): 34% (+21%)
Koy Massare (United National Front)0: 12 % (-20%)
Omar Tilemsi ( Malinese Islamic Party ): 3 % (-5 %)

According to our polls the recent statements issued by Massare have shifted the support of his voters (especially those in parts of Senegal affected by floods where he had the most of support. Towards the young and up to this day outsider candidate Yassour Kirwan. Kirwan, the Green Party candidate and renewable technology expert hailing from Dakar had spent past couple of days visiting flood affected areas of his hometown. Also rising support given to encumbered president Kane means that entering the second round of the elections seems improbable at the moment.

Windhoek, Kalahari Union.

President Kamal Ibrahim stared outside the windows of the car driving down the centre of the honestly rather small city of Windhoek. It was modern, but also had a certain quaintness to it that outsiders appreciated, especially outsiders like himself from the bustling megacity that is Cairo. When compared to Cairo, or Alexandria, or even Khartoum, Windhoek was minuscule with still under 1 million people, but he thought that that was more of a benefit than a downfall. It meant that the city could be structured, and designed for the needs of the government, which differ vastly from the needs the average every day citizen.

The car started circling a rather significant roundabout on its way to the Presidential House, and centred in the very middle of the roundabout stood a flagpole that bore a very inspiring Kalahari flag waving in the honestly quite strong and irritating wind. The flag was a sign of Kalahari pride, featuring symbols from both the Angolan and Namibian flags, but for Kamal, more importantly, it featured and bore symbols of African Unity, something that was very essential in this rather difficult time.

The car made a sudden turn left towards the Presidential house. It was an impressive building, but thankfully not very imposing, as he was sure the Kalahari people were also relieved that it didn’t seem as though the executive branch of government was trying to be imposing. This had been the first visit of North African President to the southern parts of the continent.

Presidential Palace, Windhoek, Kalahari Union.

Transcript: Meeting Room, Presidential Palace, Windhoek, Kalahari Union, 12:30pm.

Confidential, stored in the National Storage Facility, High Security, Al-Dahar.

<Ibrahim> "President Nsia! What an absolute honour it is to finally meet you. Firstly, I must say congratulations on the formation of the Kalahari Union, and I hope that this sign of African Unity and strength will only bolster the rest of the continent. I had always admired the heart and bravery of the Angolan men who fought the Iron Guard in the civil war, and I feel as though that has led to an admiration of your country as a whole now. I am very glad to be here."

<Nsia> "It's an honour to see you too. This new union is at your hands. As the president of Kalahari, I would like to discuss some pending matters. This conference will determine whether or not this nation is gonna be successful. So, let's get to it.”

<Ibrahim> "Of course, let us get straight to the point. So, firstly, I would like to confirm the continuation of your nation's participating in the CLONE alliance, following on from both Namibia and Angola's membership with us. It is North Africa's form belief that you staying as a part of CLONE is beneficial to all involved, both as a deterrent for the Aganju Regime, and in simply improving the life of the general Kalahar people.”

<Nsia> "Yes I do plan to keep my Union in this very well built alliance known as CLONE. Namibia and Angola shall keep this membership within CLONE in hope for benefits for all.”

<Ibrahim> "Brilliant. Now, I am aware that there are a number of topics that you would like to talk about with North Africa, so if you have any questions at all, this would be the time to ask them before I move forward in the negotiations.”

<Nsia> "I would like to talk about Aganju. We all know Aganju is a problem I will have to deal with."

<Ibrahim> "Yes, the destructive and aggressive Aganju Regime poses a rather serious threat to the safety and security of your people. But we have to remember that the last time they tried to invade Namibia, CLONE came to your aid, and they immediately backed down. But of course, this cannot be sustained forever, so a modernisation and mobilisation of Kalahari forces would mean that the Kalahar people could defend themselves. For this, North Africa proposes three main solutions. Firstly, we would like to sign an economic deal that would grant the Kalahari Union access to the North African arms manufacturing industry at a cheaper price than most. This would make sure that Kalahari is well armed. Secondly, we would like to increase military cooperation between North Africa and Kalahari, such as naval drills and war games that would ready us for any conflict in the area. And thirdly, to make the second part easier, we would like to create a naval-air base and a naval base in Namibian territory, and possibly another naval-air base in northern Angola. We hope that all these are acceptable to the Kalahari Union.”

<Nsia> "And they will be, these solutions will be taken in consideration. Kalahari will benfit through this and become a great ally of yours. Now one question, when will all of this be executed?”

<Ibrahim> "Well, hopefully when I arrive back in Al-Dahar we can push a bill though that would bolster Kalahar-North African relations, which would include all of those solutions. The moment that you have approved a site and have fully confirmed, we will get straight into constructing the military bases.”

<Nsia> "Alright that sounds great.”

<Ibrahim> "What's next on your agenda?”

<Nsia> "Well one thing that am in is famine. This famine that rapidly spreaded through Africa is hitting me hard. It seems like it barely affected you though."

<Ibrahim> "Ah yes, the international famine has been a major issue for a large number of us, but thankfully, North Africa was able to form ACAA, which is a small union within CLONE that allowed for joint cooperation on the solutions to the famine that has hit us greatly. This included doing things such as the Eden Tower project which provides more food with less space, and genetically modifying crops to produce greater yields with the same amount of land required as before. To take you out of the famine, we are offering you membership of ACAA, which should allow you to recover from the Afro-asian famine as we already have.”

<Nsia> "Yes I accept this membership to the ACAA. My people will be very happy to have this gift of yours.”

<Ibrahim> "Anything else that you would like to discuss next President Nsia?”

<Nsia> "No, that's all that I had to say.”

<Ibrahim> "Ah, well North Africa also has a one topic to bring to the table. We were wondering if the Kalahari Union would be open to a currency union with North Africa and the rest of the ACEFA nations, which as of now are the UEAF and Victoria. This would increase the easiness and efficiency of trade between our two glorious nations, which would be greatly beneficial to everyone involved. We are also hoping that this can give a jumpstart on the full recovery of the Angolan regions from the civil war.”

<Nsia> "I accepts this request of your. Kalahari shall enter this currency union of yours.”

<Ibrahim> “Well that is brilliant, and I think that concludes our conference. It has been a real honour meeting you President Nsia.”

<Nsia> “As it was with you President Ibrahim.”

After the devastating events that occurred during Black Thursday, the North African Stock market has ben much more worry about where it puts its investments, as it does not want to experience another collapse. Thankfully, the North African market was not hit too hard, as trade with America, while significant, was not primary. As a means of trying to stabilise the economy so that people were more willing to invest in North Africa once again, the Ibrahim administration took a page out of the book left by the Ali administration, who oversaw the biggest economic growth in North African history. One of their main economic and really political ideals was that consistency creates stability and prosperity, which led to the unique response to the economic devastation that occurred at the end of WWIII. The approach was trying to create more reliable and constant flows occurring in and out of North Africa, allowing for further predictability in the markets, allowing a way for economic growth and stability to occur.

This was one of the main reasons that President Ibrahim was going around to countries such as Kalahari and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, to try and negotiate and create economic deals that can further North African reliance on predictable yet growing markets. But while he was going around on a trip of Africa to make sure that he could assure that these deals were going to happen before arriving back home, there was still much that could, and needed to be done on the home front to help the nation recover and grow. The Department of Finance and Economic Matters (DFEM) under the new leadership of the former economic lawyer, Nagwa Ganem. Nagwa was born in Sudan, but attended a university in Australia before returning to his homeland, with vast experience in law and economics. He had become an extremely well respected member of the North African cabinet, and already there was talk about the possibility of a Ganem administration. It was his job to keep the North African Dinar as stable as possible, while simultaneously negotiating with the UEAF and Victoria to make sure that they agreed to any changes, as it was their currency as well.

But the other significant job that needed to be done had been a suggestion of Minister Ganem, which Vice President Arshiya Kachi was now in charge of executing. This was to further economic connection between the already very close North African and European economies. To do this, a delegation of economic advisors and officials from the URE had been sent to Cairo to negotiate with the Economics board stationed there.

<Kachi> "So firstly, I would like to welcome Layla Shilling among other important guests from the URE to Cairo, the economic seat of power for the North African Federation, a truly globalised city. It is an honour to once again discuss matters with our closest economic and political partner from across the Mediterranean, and we hope you feel somewhat similarly."

<Shilling> "I believe I speak for the European envoys present when I say that this meeting is of the utmost importance to the United Republic. The importance of this issue has only expanded in recent months with the advent of the United States Economic Collapse. If I may ask, what disposition has the North African Legeslature had towards distancing themselves from the Dollar?"

<Ganem> "Well we had been starting to go through the processes of distancing ourselves from the American Dollar in the weeks coming up to it, sadly, we were too late. The North African stock exchange took a hit, luckily not enough to force us recession. In the past month or two we have been trying to focus on the currency union we have with the UEAF and Victoria, but we know that we still need to throw off our reliance on the American dollar for something else, for example, the Euro.”

<Shilling> "You propose phasing out your reliance on the Dollar with the Euro?"

<Kachi> "Well certainly at least partly. Trade between North Africa and Europe over the past few years has been constant and reliant, especially following a number of economic deals that allows for a very predictable flow, which is one of the main things in President Ali's movement to take North Africa out of the economic crisis after the conclusion of WWIII. We feel as though this economic relationship has the strength and political foundations to support more weight without the risk of breaking. We are also hoping that this would further the economic relationship between the URE and other CLONE members, who have growing and very promising economies."

<Shilling> "Very well, this seems like a mutually beneficial exchange. The United Republic has held talks recently about applying similar economic deals which are shared between the NAF and URE to nations which hold the North African Dinar as their primary currency, such as the United East African Federation and, maybe soon, Victoria.”

<Kachi> "Yes, now of course we are not proposing a full on equal currency standing between the Euro and the African Dinar, that would be disastrous for both Europe and North Africa. Instead, the plan that this economics board has come up with is the formation of a branch of both of our economic strands of government that will be there to create and change a set exchange rate. This means that both of our nations can rely and feed off the others currency, but if seen as necessary, the rate can be changed to account for things such as post-war economic tension, or sudden economic growth."

<Shilling> "These terms seem that they would benefit both nations as well, reliability is essential in a time with such violently turbulent economic systems. Did you have any other proposals?"

<Kachi> "Well yes, but this proposal is regarding something slightly different that we will be pushing in our parliament and will hopefully pass. North Africa is hopefully going to be supporting the Italian League in recreating their economies so that they are strong and reliable. We are, again, hopefully going to do this through METO by signing a number of economic deals that will, again, create more constant flows of development. We were wondering if you would like to participate in such a rebirth of the Italian Peninsula?"

<Shilling> "A strong Italy would be best for the METO and the IDF, I will propose this idea to the European Parliament in London when I arrive in Paris at the conclusion of this meeting, after some rudimentary economic responses to attempt to counteract the collapse of the American Economy, of course."

<Kachi> "Of course. It is very unfortunate about the collapse of the American economy, hopefully it will recover from the hit it has taken. But yes, as you mentioned before, in this world filled with uncertainty, it is very comforting in many ways that at the very least in this world there are some constants that we can always rely on. And North Africa is overjoyed that this is one of them. Is there anything else you would like to discuss?"

<Shilling> "I do not believe so. Thank you for your time."

Following the announcement that Cairo would be hosting the 2056 Olympics, the city went into a huge flourish to try and prepare the city for the major world event that would be occurring on its very streets. New trains, buses, and trams were commissioned, and the poorer parts of the city received a boost in urban and community development funding as the city had a further justification to campaign to the national government. Street art murals and other large pieces were commissioned on what would otherwise be very plain and bland wall in an attempt to try and make the city look lively and colourful, full of life. The ‘Green Cairo’ initiative also received a boost in funding, with the greenification effort gaining further support and momentum. While Cairo may be seeing a flourish, this has created some dissatisfaction with the progressive party in the more rural parts of the country, as this came at the expense of a number of telecommunication and transport initiatives to rural areas having to be temporarily reduced in favour of the city that already had quite a lot of money. The Progressive party has claimed that all these projects and programs will continue to receive the funding they require after the preparation of Cairo for the big event, and that they will get done on time and on budget, although a number of rural citizens are doubtful. This has given power to the Federative Party, who claim that the Liberal Coalition is far to focused on the urban parts of the country instead of rural development, but the excitement of hosting the olympics as the first city in Africa to do so temporarily halted that power grab.

Following the invasion of Zambia by the Aganju Regime, North Africa has started to supply the Zambian army in an effort to slow the Aganju progress in the parts of the country with more difficult terrain. North Africa has instated full sanctioning of the Aganju Regime, and has appealed to an international court that the Ruler of the nation be subject to charges of 'crimes against humanity’ if he is ever attained. Similarly, North Africa has also started supporting the UAF in their fight against Anarchism in West Africa, and continues to arm the Congolese troops that guard their coastline from intercontinental invasion.

Bill: Windhoek-Cairo Economic Agreement

Proposed: Nagwa Ganem, Finance and Economics Minister. (Progressive)

Summary: To increase trade between North Africa and the Kalahari Union by allowing special conditions for exports to and imports from the Kalahari Union.

Contents: Reduced tariffs for certain industries, allowing for the creation of a tax incentive for the investment in the Kalahari market, allowing for easy international expansion of North African businesses into the Kalahari Union, the invitation of the Kalahari Union into ACAA, the invitation of the Kalahari Union into ACEFA.

House: National Assembly.

<Nagwa Ganem, Progressive> "This deal has been discussed in great detail between President Ibrahim and his Kalahari counterpart, President Nsia. This has already been carefully worked out, and the specifics are all in place, and this seems to have no notable downfalls for either side. This is only yet another step forward in the possible growth of the North African economy, while simultaneously increasing the strength and influence of our southern ally, during a time in the world when they so dearly need it. If you believe in Africa, then you should believe in this bill."

<Kasto Nadar, Nationalist> "This man comes in from the high and almighty executive branch of the government, and tells us what we should believe in and what we should follow? There has been no participation of anyone from the legislative sector in the creation of this deal with the Kalahari Union, and in reading through some of these proposals in this bill, there are clear and obvious flaws. Kalahari is still in need of recovery, and is not a stable market, yet they are proposing risking our market in their unstable ground. For me, this is completely unacceptable, and must be stopped."

Bill: Trans-Mediteranean Trade Agreement

Proposed: Baahilo Gamel, Secretary of the Treasury (Progressive)

Summary: To increase trade between and mutual reliance with the United Republic of Europe to try and decrease reliance on the United States Dollar.

Contents: Cull numerous tariffs that exist between the URE and the NAF, create a joint economics board between the NAF and URE that will determine and change a fixed exchange rate in an attempt to try and maintain a constant and predictable flow of trade that will help maintain a more stable economy for both members.

House: National Assembly.

<Ali Tuma, Progressive> “This shouldn’t be a matter for debate, for the continual growth of our economy, at least in the now it is necessary that we distance ourselves from the fragile American Dollar. The Euro across the mediterranean is a currency that is known for its stability, and would be a good way to further increase the close economic partnership that already exists between the URE and North Africa. The proposal put forth by the joint economics board is the best way to move forward and continue our growth."

<Pavel Ahmaned, Isolationist> “The way to continue our growth is to simply not continue our outreach to the outside world, then we will remain more constant and safe in a financial sense. While global markets may be good when we are growing, as we have seen it will sometimes lead to downfall and collapse. It is time that we closed ourself off from the world."

Internal Affairs

There is a famine called the Afro-asian famine. This famine has hit Africa hard, killed many in huge amounts. This famine is currently ravaging though Kalamari at the moment. With this in mind Baako Nsia, calls for a conference.

<Nsia> Hello gentlemen, in this conference we're gonna talk about the Afro-asian famine. This such famine is at the moment, affected us really hard.
<Pilirani> So, whats your plan to bring Kalamari out of its famine?
<Nsia> I have no plan just yet.
<Nonné> So you're telling us you have no plan and yet you called for a conference without such plan?
<Nsia> That's why I made this conference, to make the plan.
<Kayode> Gentlemen please let us get back on track. We need to construct this plan.
<Jengo> All right Gentlemen, here's what I have so far. As we can see North African Federation has come out of its famine.
<Nsia> you're right. What is it that you plan for us.
<Jengo> we need to genetically modify our crops. We need to make sure they withstand the harsh conditions in Karas, Cobo Norte, Omheke, and Greater Erongo.
<Pilirani> what will we gain from it. This research is gonna take a while to do so.
<Nsia> well you see, that's why in gonna have a talk with Kamal the President of North African Federation.
<Kofoba> You know what. Go have your talk with him. I'm sure he has something for us to use.
<Nsia> Alright this conference with Kamal shall be fun.

Foreign Affairs

<Ibrahim> President Nsia! I am very glad to be here.
<Nsia> It's an honour to see you too. This new union is at your hands. As the president of Kalahari, I would like to discuss some pending matters. This conference will determine whether or not this nation is gonna be successful. So, let's get to it.
<Ibrahim> Of course, let us get straight to the point. So, firstly, I would like to confirm the continuation of your nation's participating in the CLONE alliance, following on from both Namibia and Angola's membership with us. It is North Africa's form belief that you staying as a part of CLONE is beneficial to all involved, both as a deterrent for the Aganju Regime, and in simply improving the life of the general Kalahar people.
<Nsia> Yes I do plan to keep my Union in this very well built alliance known as CLONE. Namibia and Angola shall keep this membership within CLONE in hope for benefits for all.
<Ibrahim> Brilliant. Now, I am aware that there are a number of topics that you would like to talk about with North Africa, so if you have any questions at all, this would be the time to ask them before I move forward in the negotiations.
<Nsia> I would like to talk about Aganju. We all know Aganju is a problem I will have to deal with.
<Ibrahim> Yes, the destructive and aggressive Aganju Regime poses a rather serious threat to the safety and security of your people. We hope that all these are acceptable to the Kalahari Union.
<Nsia> And they will be, these solutions will be taken in consideration. Kalahari will benfit through this and become a great ally of yours. Now one question, when will all of this be executed?
<Ibrahim> Well, hopefully when I arrive back in Al-Dahar we can push a bill though that would bolster Kalahar-North African relations, which would include all of those solutions. The moment that you have approved a site and have fully confirmed, we will get straight into constructing the military bases.
<Nsia> Alright that sounds great.
<Ibrahim> What's next on your agenda?
<Nsia> Well one thing that am in is famine. This famine that rapidly spreaded through Africa is hitting me hard. It seems like it barely affected you though.
<Ibrahim> Ah yes, the international famine has been a major issue for a large number of us, but thankfully, North Africa was able to form ACAA, which is a small union within CLONE that allowed for joint cooperation on the solutions to the famine that has hit us greatly. This included doing things such as the Eden Tower project which provides more food with less space, and genetically modifying crops to produce greater yields with the same amount of land required as before. To take you out of the famine, we are offering you membership of ACAA, which should allow you to recover from the Afro-asian famine as we already have.
<Nsia> Yes I accept this membership to the ACAA. My people will be very happy to have this gift of yours.
<Ibrahim> Anything else that you would like to discuss next President Nsia?
<Nsia> No, that's all that I had to say.
<Ibrahim> Ah, well North Africa also has a one topic to bring to the table. We are also hoping that this can give a jumpstart on the full recovery of the Angolan regions from the civil war.
<Nsia> I accepts this request of your. Kalahari shall enter this currency union of yours.
<Ibrahim> Well that is brilliant, and I think that concludes our conference. It has been a real honour meeting you President Nsia.
<Nsia> As it was with you President Ibrahim.

The kingdom of Haiti

Santo Domingo
The people of Santo Domingo were troublesome at best with them not particularly favouring the fact that Haiti had annexed their nation only a few years prior. It was for this reason that the Santo Domingo police department, upon hearing about the protests within the city, assumed that the protesters were violent and so as the protestors began their march towards the city hall ,riot police armed with rubber bullets and tear gas appeared and began to violently disperse the crowd. This lead to violent skirmishes between both civilian and police forces. When the protests had finally been put down 24 people had been arrested including Gaby Robineau who has been charged for associating with illegal anarchist organisations.
Port au prince,houses of parliment
The prime minister ,Tristan Dupont, was furious with the misguided decisions of the Santo Domingo police department. It had made the already unstable Dominican provinces even further alienated from the central Haitian government. Already the leader of the opposition and various independence movements throughout the Dominican provinces were blaming him and his government for the mistakes of the police department. This incident had also lead to the membership count of Dominican autonomy parties had skyrocketed in the past few days as they began to make Gaby Robineau into some kind of martyr.

The king himself had decided to take action by visiting his subjects within the Dominican provinces despite Mr Dupont's personal objection to the idea stating that it was simply unsafe for the king to go into that region. The prime minister had also been taking action by drafting up a series of laws that he hoped would mend the cultural rift that existed between the Haitian and Dominican people's and that would take mesures to repair the rift that had torn the two peoples apart.

Military affairs:
The Haitian military was not capable of an offensive campaign; that much was clear to the military high command. If it ever came to a war between Haiti and Pra'araziaydınız Imparatorluğu or for that matter any of the other of the major American powers Haiti would be swiftly crushed. So in the hopes to strengthen Haiti's position the military high command has began to drill the Haitian army in the ways of guerrilla warfare because due to the tropical nation of Hispaniola Haitian military theorists have stated that the only way to defend the island was through guerrilla warfare.

Mexico City, Federal Empire of Mexico: October 2054

Image
Jaél Maria Gutiérrez (Empress Jaél I), aged 20, on a Mexican satellite radio show answering questions and entertaining suggestions from callers.

One month in power had shown the upstart Empress that running a nation was no easy task. Mexico was a large country, especially with the tacked on Central American states, and though more powerful and prosperous in general than ever before, it was an Empire still rife with many serious issues.

There was the traditional Latin American disparity between the rich and the poor, the traditional drug cartels that in recent months had become more of a nuisance. Not to mention that the Empire under her father had no actual constitution....which was still the case, this fact meant that Jaél was effectively an absolute monarch. The young leader was quite uncomfortable with this and decided to take action.

"My fellow Mexicans, I must emphatically implore we make a return to a constitutional form of governance. I may be your monarch, but I loathe to rule as an absolute and unchecked sovereign. I am one of you, I am a citizen of the great Mexican nation, and we must together make the progress of our beloved homeland a reality. In short, I ask.....no, I need your assistance and input in order to properly make decisions that lead to the most optimal outcome for our people. The constitution we create must, without fail enshrine a commitment to the democratic process and equality of opportunity. Together, we can....and will set the Mexican Empire the standard of freedom in this new world that values hegemony and conquest over mutually beneficiality and altruistism."

The debate:

Imperial Monarchists: The Empress is the sole sovereign by grace of Almighty God, her rule should be absolute and unquestioned!!! God save the Empress!

Constitutional Monarchists: It is clear that Empress Jaél desires to reign as a properly modern leader. The trend of humanity has shown constitutional governance and democracy is the hallmark of healthy civilizations. We believe the Empress, though young, has shown she governs in our interest and can be trusted to respect the authority of a constitutional people's government.

Republicans: Jaél may be a well meaning individual, however she is a young adult thrusted into a position of authority by this illogical monarchial tradition, and ill suited for such an inexperienced person. We should abolish the monarchy and hold elections for a truly competent and popular government.

Votes:
Absolute Monarchy: 5%
Constitutional Monarchy: 75%
Republic: 20%

The new Mexican Constitution put into effect is a constutional monarchy. The Empress is given powers of both head of state and head of government, with some additional legislative powers (similar to the Second French Empire). So, she has very strong executive authority. The Empress ordered the inclusion of a bill of rights inspired by the American bill of rights.

Foreign Affairs:

From: Federal Empire of Mexico
To:United States of America

While I look foward to a amicable relationship with the United States government and the American people, I don't believe a free trade pact would be beneficial to either of our economies at present. However, I will agree to the resumption of normal trade between Mexico and the United States. It is also imperative that our nations should cooperate in the elimination of drug cartels along our mutual border.

Jael I, Empress of the Mexicans

From: Federal Empire of Mexico
To: Kingdom of Haiti

Yes, I am in accordance that nations of Mesoamerica and the Caribbean
should form a bloc of neutral nations to stand as a bulwark against miltaristic nations. The peoples of our nations have suffered at the hands of imperialist nations for far too long. When and where would you like to meet?

Sincerely, Jael I, Empress of the Mexicans

The kingdom of Haiti

The port Moreau incident.
The small city of Port Moreau was created in the later years of the Moreau regime as not only a trade port between Haiti and Pra'araziaydınız Imparatorluğu but it was also to spread French culture throughout the Dominican provinces. Now the French speaking population had shrunk down to a minority within the city as seen as the new democratic government that had been put in Haiti had removed the harsh restrictions on movement that were in place within the Dominican provinces.

Over the years of extensive trade with Pra'araziaydınız Imparatorluğu the city had begun to pick up a rather large Fenixist minority within the city. For the most part this Fenixist minority had lived in relative harmony with the large Catholic majority however now with the recent instability that had come about within the area and the rise of Dominican nationalism had resurfaced old tensions between the two groups and at 7:40 PM on Monday morning there were large scale clashes between Fenixists and Catholics on the streets of Port Moreau. The police showed up 10 minutes later and the situation was calmed down but not before 4 men were killed many more injured. This incident has made many fundamentalist groups advocate for the establishment of Catholicism as the national religion of Haiti. The government has yet to take a stance on the issue.
Port au prince,houses of parliment
The situation within the Dominican provinces had become an immense draw on the popularity of the Royal Haitian party (the current ruling party) which has placed prime minister Tristan Dupont in a rather awkward situation. He knew that the root of the problem was the cultural device between the Haitian people and the Dominican people and the Moreau regime policy of neo colonialism with the Dominican people had done little to help the situation. The Haitian Royal party had already devised a series of education reforms that would help to integrate the Dominican people into the Haitian nation. Mr Dupont had also made sure to maintain Haiti's international reputation which had been largely successful due to the involvement of king Faustin II.

The king's tour of the Dominican provinces had gone far better than expected than most political groups had expected. This was mainly due to the intervention of the government in royalist rallies by making sure that a large majority of patriotic citizens within Dominican provinces attended the king's rallies and the media's extensive coverage of his tour throughout the Dominican provinces. Now that stability had been at least partially restored to the region it was now up to the government to keep it that way and regain it's lost popularity.

Federacion Estados de Sudamérica

"En unión y libertad"

Buenos Aires

"To our brothers and sisters to the north, we welcome with open arms!"

These were the words uttered by former General, now President, Ramon Santiago Vasquez. With millions displaced and exiled from the war between Pramilandert and their neighboring South American nations. This was one of the things that the South American nation was doing as a power of the region. Around the border, camps were being set up to aid the immigration of waves of Peruvians and Bolivians. The Sudamérican Red Cross, with government help, set up refugee stations for their fellow South Americans, allowing them passage into the Federal States.

Around the country, railways and highways were being worked on. Especially from across the Chilean range, where it was a little more difficult to move to and fro. Around the nation, the manufacturing industry was seeing larger government interest, as with social works and infrastructure, mostly towards transportation and communications. To continue the growth of the economy, private-sector stimulation was given attention through the concentration of trade expansion and technology importation.

Space was another region of interest for the nation. The Tronador III rockets, making their debut in the 2030s, saw successes in satellite launches, the government wishing for more. A way to boost prestige among the international community. It would not be enough however. Although birthed for peaceful scientific use, elements wished to see the Tronadors as weapons. Intermediate ballistic missiles, as such with the Condor III.

No matter the use, the next design in line was the Tronador IV. Solid fueled, 3 stage rocket, able to carry larger payloads of satellites.

In the capital, most went their ways in the rich port capital that was, Buenos Aires. The center of the federal government, it was where the power was sat. It was where the former general gained power. It was where they would lead their up and coming power. The ministries had their job, the president had his.

Argentine Ministry of Defense

The Fabricaciones Militares and Fábrica Argentina de Aviones, the main Argentine military industries, under orders of the Defense Ministry, had a lot on its plate. Of course, they had the defense contracts, but it did not change that the nation had ambitious military projects. Nuclear submarines, new main battle tanks, fighter jets, missile and launch systems. All that and more. It was part of the plan to give Sudamérica more military independence, reliant on no foreign supplier.

On the Chilean coast, naval bases and shipyards were under construction or renovation. Naval power was, so far, one of the greatest shows of military power. Carriers were in demand, to aid their existing fleet composition. Carrier designs were being sought after, either domestic or foreign designs. In the mean time, of the projects they could handle, it was refitting submarines with nuclear engines and the construction of new, larger destroyers.

As the navy wished to receive their new weapons, so did the army and the air force. The army's Tanque Argentino Mediano were to be going heavy redesigns. Up-gunning from 120 mm to 130 mm and up armoring by 50 mm of steel, added with reactive armor kits. The air force wanted to go through with their swing-role fighter design as well. A cost-effective fighter with heavy armament, it was, too, ambitious.

Chinese Empire

China was only a shadow of its former self, and as much as she hated to admit it, Rougang knew this to be true. The industrial heartland of her empire was in shambles, her administration had pushed for and pursued multiple failed or inconsequential projects, and the threat of foreign intervention grew more real by the day as the nation was classified in a state of "near" civil-war. At times like these, nations need not new thinkers, but those that were proven to work. As much as she hated it, as much as it went against a majority of her nation's policies, and as much of a shakeup in administration it called for...

Xia had to work with the Communists.

Forbidden Palace, Tianjin
The Chinese Empire

The Empress sat tapping her fingers in her "office," if the word could be used to describe the room she was in. It was a much harder endeavor to find old-blood Jinpingists than it had first appeared, though the fact that most of those in Xi's administration would be in their 110s now certainly harms prospects of finding anyone. However, a few days ago, they came into contact with a member of the Sixth Generation of PRoC leadership, Lu Hao. He is 91, going on 92, though he was surprisingly healthy for a man his age. In addition, several members of the Seventh Generation were tracked down, though none showed interest in the endeavor, and four Eight Generation members were tracked down and agreed to come in- Xiong Zhelan, Zeng Guo, Cui Jie, and Yin Xuefeng, of the last administration of the People's Republic before it was overturned Democratically. The latter four she had already spoken to earlier that week, and all four agreed, albiet somewhat begrudgingly, to assist the Empress in her effort to reunite China. The former, however, was not expected until around 10:15, which was still about... five minutes from now. Xia's watch beeped, giving her said five-minute warning, and she reluctantly put down the copy of the book on Strahendo she had been reading, stretched for a minute, and waited...

and waited...

and waited, until finally it hit 10:15, and the sound of Lu's footsteps could be heard in the hall. Xia walked around her desk, and prepared to meet him. Lu rounded the corner- hardly the man Xia had expected him to be. He hardly looked a day over 70, if such a thing could be called an accomplishment, and walked with a surprisingly quick, albiet still slow, step. They exchanged greetings, gave respectful smiles, etc etc etc., and eventually they took their seats across from eachother. They talked for a good while about various things, before eventually turning towards the reason Lu had been called there in the first place. Xia starts...

"Well, I suppose you already know why I called you here, so I'll keep it brief: our nation is in a dire situation right now, Vice Chairman. One as bad as the Civil War that rampaged just over a Century ago, and as bad as our many collapses before that, though this time I believe we have a chance to hold it together."
Xia stands up and leans on her desk, continuing
"I say we and ours, because I need your help, Lu. Every administration since the PRoC stepped down has had some fatal flaw, and I very nearly fell into that same trap. As much as I hate to admit it, you and your party may well be the light that pulls us out of our current situation."

Lu looks at her for 10 seconds or so, considering, before responding
"Xia, there is nothing I'd like more than to assist in bringing China back together, but I'm far too old for politicking, and there's no way I could bring the CPC and your policies together. I wish I could help, really, I do..."

She sighs and sits back down
"I'm not asking you to join the administration as a policy-maker by any means. In fact, your policies clash very much with mine, and it'd be a rather odd move for an Empire to bring in a Communist as a policy member. All I ask is that you help us bring our nation back together, and bring our nation at least partially back up to the height it was once at. No easy task, but I believe that, if I get the right people and make the right moves, we can pull it off."

They sit in silence for a few moments, a silent battle of will, before Lu sighs defeatedly and nods
"Alright, alright. What do you need me to do?"

Xia smiles, and they start working out the arrangement...

Tianjin

It had taken a while, but the agreement was worked out. Lu Hao would work in an advisory role alongside Xia's other advisors, and alongside Zeng, Cui, and Yin. Xiong, former Chairman of the Communist Party, would work as an interior minister under Xia. With all that worked out, Xia got on with her schedule for the day- a speech at 13:00, and afterwards some missives to send out. First, of course, came the speech, broadcast across all of China, or as much of it as they could.

She walked up to the podium just as the clock changed the hour, stood for a few moments for the crowd which had gathered outside the palace to quiet themselves, and started

"People of our Empire, we are in dire straights. Our nation is disunited, and we are on the brink of self-destruction. Those that would see us broken up and destroyed are laughing in their collective offices. We are at our lowest point in over a century. Which is exactly why I cannot even begin to comprehend the logic of those rebel groups who, though I so graciously offered pardoning in turn for standing down, stand foolishly stubborn in their convictions, even when our weakened military is still more than enough to roll over most of them with ease. In addition, I do not understand the mindset of those military officers who desert their glorious duty, and choose court-marshal over helping reunite their homeland. It takes a united people to make a strong nation, and those who would rebel are only further weakening all of our's futures, not only those who fight directly. India looks on, and laughs at us. Japan looks on, and laughs at us. Korea looks on, and laughs at us. This is why I am giving one final warning: within the end of the month, we will have moved troops into Manchuria, Eastern Mongolia, Western Xinjiang Uyghur, and Chinese Tibet, and we will exterminate those with the rebellion. Those who still fight in those places should stand down immediately, for there is no way that any meagre militias they can conjure up will stand any chance against the Imperial Chinese Army. You have been warned. In addition, we are giving one final chance to the large rebellions in Southeastern China to rest arms and surrender before we begin bombing campaigns within a week. You have also been warned. Rebellion, mutiny, and desertion will no longer be tolerated. Any of those who do fight, or who are actively cooperating with rebels, will be shot on sight. We will not be taking prisoners when we come through.

"In addition, I am certain many of you will have noticed the introduction of former Communist Party members into my Advisory council. Rest assured that this is not an indication of a drastic shift in policy, rather an indication of our willingness to acknowledge that some system in our past did well, and a desire to learn from that system, and we should feel honoured that men such as Lu have chosen to join the Empire, and help reunite China, then help those that would have us embroiled in civil war as the world continues forward without us. In a similar way, it has come to my attention that some may question our continuing support of the Sultanate in the west due to our own Civil War, however rest assured that we stand by our Anatolian bretheren.

"On the topic of Strahendo, while I have personally endorsed the religion, I understand that going from a secular state to a state based on a fairly recently founded religion can wreak havoc on our citizens, and I apologize for having made such a rash move. While I continue to believe the future of our nation lies in the Faith, for the moment I will be reverting the Chinese Empire to an officially secular state.

"Finally for today, I have decided that we have already sunken far too many funds into various versions of Shanghai Restoration. We will continue the current stage of the project, however the project will receive no funding in the next budget cycle. Instead, we will be working to expand farmland in Mongolia and Northern China, far from the Nuclear ruins that plague our former population centers. As much as they remain open wounds, there is little we may do now. We must heal around these scars, and use them as a point of unity. In addition, later today I will be extending a hand of friendship to several nations which have also been plagued by IDF Involvement, Ignorance, and Oppression. We will rebuild."

And with that, her speech was over. Xia stepped down from her podium and walked back towards her palace, a little ways back, to thunderous applause by her audience. Only time could tell whether the rebels would heed her ultimatum, or continue to stand steadfastly ignorant in the face of probable defeat and definite weakening of China's power base.

It has come to the attention to the Cabinet of the Empire of China that the GDC has been fading in power somewhat recently, understandable due to the current civil unrest present in our nation. However, we believe that the Golden Dragon Confederation can easily recover. However, in order to facilitate this, we need new members. Each of you have reasons to stand against the IDF or CLONE, or have worked with us in the past. As such, it seems only logical that we would band together in this time: We are inviting you to be members of the Golden Dragon Confederation. We will work together against the forces that have oppressed us for so long, such as the tyrants of the URE and the NAF and the ever-growing danger of India. We will share technology and tactics to make each other stronger. We will survive.

I pray you consider this, and choose to join us.

It was the next day, and needless to say, the previous members of Xia's cabinet were not happy at all with their Empress' decision to allow their supposed enemies as close as they were to her, and she could understand the displeasure- it was taking a good bit of willpower not to boot out the new additions. Well, at least, it would if she did not know that they were necessary to the continued survival of her nation. As she entered the office that they were supposed to be civilly discussing the integration of their four new members into the power structure, it was expectedly heated, Xiong Zhelan and head Domestic Affairs advisor Yekeouru Osol in the middle of a shouting match as she crossed the doorway. She loudly cleared her throat to gather the arguing cabinet's attention, beckoning over the CPC members, starting

"I see that you have already met your new coworkers. I understand your distrust, but you must learn to just work with them. They are not policymakers: they are advisors. Any decision still needs my clearance. You will not going to be refusing to work with these men simply because you have disagreements, is that clear?"
Before any of the Advisors are able to make any more response than defeated nods, she continues
"Now, for the next 6-8 months, we have one overarching objective- disperse the rebellions that wrack our country. General Fang will be leading the efforts over the next month to corner the less populous militias spread throughout our less populated regions. The militias will probably make extensive use of Guerrilla tactics, so I want air reconnaissance on their movements 24/7. Do not let them get the drop on our men. We will not let them drag this process out any further than they already have. In addition, I want to send more traditional defensive lines down to relieve our Guerilla fighters. In addition, there are a number of strategic targets we wish to lock down before our next strategy meeting. I refer you to the map to see what these are."
She gestures to the table in the middle of the room. Its surface, which had been pitch black beforehand, lights up with a map of the nation, rebel pockets lit up, and strategic provinces coloured in grey.
Image
"These rebels, the traitors in the Southeast, they are our biggest threat right now. The rebels in our northern provinces will be rolled over easily, and the Taiwanese and South Vietnamese can wait. These rebels in our heartland, on the other hand, threaten our industry, our agriculture, and whatever we could hope to salvage of administrations past. Splitting up their territory like this, removing their ability to coordinate and move supplies, takes us one step closer to reuniting our glorious nation."
The table stayed that way for a few minutes more, before flickering to a set of blueprints for the Type 066 and Type 067 Guided Missile Destroyers.
"Now, the Type 066 has served us faithfully for the past 10 or so years, and the Type 067 serves as a good interim design, but the Japanese have always been leagues ahead of us in terms of Navies. This is a simple fact. However, in times such as these, China must have Naval Protection, and unfortunately, while I very much would like to, we cannot solely rely on our Pra'araziaydın comrades in the event of conflict. So, I propose the following: I want a Multirole Cruiser. Something that can match what Japan's been putting out, or at least challenge it. I also want this Cruiser to be mass producible enough to have 15 out within the first 2 years of production. This design doesn't have to be built up in a day, and I don't want it to be. For now, just concentrate on gathering prospective naval planners, and getting the basic specifications we want written up.
"In addition, it has come to my attention that the previous administration was building a large number of the Decades-old J-20 Stealth Fighter. I believe that this is a waste of resources, and it risks filing our ranks with a large amount of obsolete weaponry. As such, effective immediately the J-20 Construction project is cancelled. In 1 year's time, we will begin a process of retiring jets older than 8 years, and replacing them with these J-20s, purely out of the fact that we have over 200 of them now. Between now and then, I want to get a refitting facility up and running to update the J-20 with far more modern equipment."
The table flickers one more time, switching to an image of a railgun
"Our final item on the itinerary, most nations in the world have begun heavily relying on the railgun. However, the weapon's inability to be efficiently miniaturized to an infantry weapon leaves much to be desired. As such, we will be developing a new weapon, capable of either being scaled up to Artillery, or down to Small Arms. The details of this project are contained within these folders,"
she says as an assistant hands them out
"and the details of the project are not to be discussed outside of this room, or with anyone other than those mentioned in the documents, until I say so, is that understood?"
A number of voices throughout the room mumble affirmatives
"In all official documents, this project is to be known as 'Wave.' Until developement has reached a reasonable level, it will remain so. However, at a time when multiple working prototypes have been made, and tested, the project will be revealed in full. Until that point, no word is to get out."

With the votes tallying into the house, a new Parliment would be formed. With the past years of the new union formed it would spur many ideas throughout the nation of what would be best for it. With this new Parliment installed and the tallies in, it was clear that there were very different opinions on how the country should be run. As evident from the graph, the Democratic Socialists still have a spot secured in the lead. Their party has shown its dominance in the polls. The next party that has seen a recent bump in the Technocratic Party. This party has taken many values and beliefs from the Technocratic state that is just south of them or more commonly known as The United Republic of Europe. The technological leaps the URE has made has shown on some of the Confederation's citizens. Lastly the Scandinavian Traditions Preservation Party, a conservative party formed in order to pull ideas from the ancestors of Scandinavia. This party believes that national pride and patriotism is important. Smaller parties that see council seats are the Nationalist and Ecologists

Bill: Official Emblem(s) of The Confederation

Proposed: Parliment Member Gøran Johnsrud (Scandanavian Tradition Preservation Party)

Contents: A proposal for the official emblem(s) of the Gothenburg confederation. Below is the new emblem.
Image

<Gøran Johnsrudm, S.T.P> I would like to propose this to be the official emblem of the Gothenburg Confederation. I believe that this emblem shows the tradition and represents our ancestors. We as a people have common Scandinavian ancestors and should share many of their values. This proposition also includes the notion of keeping the current seal as an emblem making the Confederation have two emblems. I believe both of these emblems represent our nation well.

<Bertel Henningsen, Technocrats> I believe that this new emblem is only going to give other nations a primitive view of ourselves. As it is important to study history I think we should learn from the mistakes made by our ancestors, not glorify them. I believe that a more fitting emblem would represent progress and scientific advancement.

Bill: Education Policy I

Proposed: Parliment Member Johan Sjöström (Scandanavian Tradition Preservation Party)

Contents: A proposal to emphasize and glorify Scandinavian history in the classroom. This bill will increase the required amount of time students spend learning about Scandinavian history, Norse Mythology, Scandinavian traditions, and important figures in Scandinavian history.

<Johan Sjöström, S.T.P> I think that in order to increase patriotism and unity for the nation our people should be proud of their traditions. This will give citizens a sense of belonging to their nation and inform the citizens more on what their ancestors accomplished. Since this is the nation that the citizens live in I believe it should be the nation that is studied the most.

<Nicolina Söderholm, Technocrats> Increasing the focus on our own nation takes time. In this time the students could be learning more advanced topics than the primitive states of their ancestors.

Bill: Request For Kalahari Mission

Proposed: Parliment Member Olivia Nilsson (Technocratic Part)

Contents: A proposal put some of the annual budget toward African colonization. Passing this bill will allow for the Gothenburg Confederation to reach out to the Kalahari Union to purchase some coastal land. On this land purchased the Gothenburg Confederation will set up a trading port for both trade and naval ships can dock.

<Olivia Nilsson, Technocratic Part> This proposal should be accepted because of the Kalahari Union's occupation in Nambia. Here there are many resources our state could gain. Passing this deal would at first cost money, but, would increase our trade area and give us exponential returns. Having a port in Africa gives us access to another part of the world and would only grow our power as a nation. As I said before, at first this proposition would cost money, but I do believe that setting up a port in the territory formerly known as Nambia will give us access to growth. There are tons of raw material in that area as well as mines. I think part of this proposal should also allow for capitalist investment in this project, as private companies could benefit from having access to an abundance of mines and raw materials. Those companies that sponsor over 5% of the costs will be whitelisted and allowed to use the ports. Fellow members of Parliment, can't you see this is the best option for our economy in the long term.

<Lucas Jepsen, Democratic Socialist> This agenda, as it may benefit our economy, promote an imperialistic and capitalistic agenda that we cannot tolerate as a nation. With private corporations funding this project who knows what the result will be. With the money that would be going into that project, we should instead use it to fund other internal projects.

Bill: North African Federation Proposal (JFT)

Proposed: Parliment Member Carl Blom (Nationalist Party)

Contents: This bill would allow the council to propose to the North African Federation to allow joint forces training. North Africa would be allowed to use training facilities and troops of the Confederation would be allowed to use training facilities in North Africa.

<Carl Blom, Nationalist> Our military is a joke as it is. Our total military numbers are 170,000. That is not even one percent of the population. This is a low-cost opportunity but, what happens when someone comes knocking on our door to fight? We will surely not be ready. Sure our current military costs very little but we must do what we can with what we have. Our troops need to be ready for whatever type of environment the problems of tomorrow will bring. This deal will only create a stronger military force.

<Lucas Jepsen, Democratic Socialist> Again this policy would only make us look militaristic. We as a nation should not pursue this militaristic agenda that you are proposing.

Bill: Historical Restoration Act

Proposed: Parliment Member Gøran Johnsrud (Scandanavian Tradition Preservation Party)

Contents: Upon this bill being passed Rennisance Fairs, LARPing orginizations, renactments, and other orginizations that are based around Scandanavian history and tech Norse Mythology, Scandanavian traditions, history of the old Norsemen, etc.. will be allowed to rent out public parks temporarily for their events. They must be approved by the states.

<Gøran Johnsrud, S.T.P> This only makes sense. National parks will still be maintained but, we are just going to make money out of this. More money for the state means we can continue to work on projects and make the nation better as a whole. Now I know this may seem like it may just be environmentally damaging but I think if we put in regulations to ensure these organizations clean up after themselves then we can increase our money and give citizens an educational pass time.

<Sophie Kristoffersen, Ecologist> This can not be allowed to pass. These national parks should be strictly for viewing. These establishments cannot be responsible for keeping it clean, the state must be responsible for keeping these parks separate from corporate deals. This is a slippery slope that I will not stand for.

Bill: Broaden Our Religions

Proposed: Parliment Member Johan Sjöström (Scandanavian Tradition Preservation Party)

Contents: This will allow for Åstrau and other forms of modern Odinism to be recognized as a religion in the nation. This will not make it an official religion, but instead, recognize it as a religion.

<Johan Sjöström, S.T.P> If this nation is to be equal to all, we must recognize a religion that is growing. It is not a new religion, but instead one of our ancestors. I am in no way asking to state this as an official religion of the state, but I want it to be recognized as a religion by the state. In the government's eyes, this belief will be equal to Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, or any other belief that the state recognizes as an official belief. If we are a truly free nation, we must give this belief an equal shot as well.

<Olivia Nilsson, Technocratic Part> The state does not need to make another religion that it recognizes. This will only impede progress. If anything we should stop recognizing religions. This proposal will only slow down scientific and national progress with an ancient belief.

Øvre Dividal - Ataxia Camp
Gothenberg Confederation
February 4th, 2055 AD
09:00

As the effort to deliver the Ataxia cure to the sick comes to a closing. Trucks driving people back and forth to their native towns across the confederation have been running. Most of the many camps inhabitants have been cured and returned to the families. With the few remaining citizens being driven off from the camp officials began to clean and sanitize the many encampments across the nation. This would ensure that all of the camps could be deconstructed and not have left a hint of disease behind. Everything would be cleaned and then dispose of the camps. These camps would be disposed of in the cleanest and most environmentally friendly way possible to erase their existence. The areas that were used for the camps would then

The shipyards had been working to scrap and sell off all of the Nordic Treaty era ships and build new ones. As part of the rebuilding effort, the new ships would be built and put into service. Men and women of the shipyards worked with haste as they attempted to create a new navy for the nation. Along with the updated ships 1 new aircraft carrier, 5 destroyers, 3 cruisers, 15 missile boats, and 2 frigates were being made extra. These ships are to be made at the highest class ship the Confederation had access too. This new naval build attempt would create jobs, as the boats were created by civilian contractors. These ships would be made over the course of 3 years. The payment for these ships would also be in small payments over these three years

With the council having made much progress in the last month with a number of issues that they presented the issue still come up with how to deal with the economy. This council meeting was just for an economic base to try to get ahold of the economy and stabilize it. With the new council in place, the turnout would hopefully be one that is favoured by the people. Many people watch this very debate for answers on the economic situation. This meeting was scheduled by the President himself to increase trade and hopefully increase the nation's power through economic action.

Bill: Allow Trade With Collective Syndicates of Turkey

Proposed: Parliment Member Olivia Nilsson (Technocratic Part)

Contents: This will allow for the free trade between the Gothenburg Confederation and the Collective Syndicates of Turkey.

<Olivia Nilsson, Technocrat> We should open our borders to trade with this nation. Currently, they are in a civil war, and I think as a nation it would benefit us to take hold of this opportunity and let our companies trade with this nation. I feel that opening our horizons for private companies to trade in is only going to benefit us in the end. If we are to truly stabilize the economy, then this is the route we should take.

<Lucas Jepsen, Democratic Socialist> This is absurd, we can not trust private corporations to take ahold of our economy and drive it off of the cliff like madmen. Trading with this nation is a bad idea for both of our relations with the IDF and with any allies we have. Modern Turkey is a horribly unstable nation and it is not smart to trade with them. Let us limit the capitalists together.

Bill: Repeal Joint Currency Union From the URE

Proposed: Parliment Member Frida Järnefelt (Scandanavian Tradition Preservation Party)

Contents: This will repeal the notion to join a joint currency union with the URE.

<Frida Järnefelt, S.T.P> This idea is completely absurd. How are we supposed to show the world that we are independent and strong if we leech off of the UREs money? This may solve our problem temporarily but in the long run, when we return to our original currency will only make us prolong the problem. We should fix our economy and not depend on the URE for a helping hand. We are Scandanavians, and we can fend for ourselves.

<Stefan Wahlber, Democratic Socialist> Why would we repeal this? This deal allows us to stabilize our economy even faster then we could. It is the easiest and quickest way to become stable.

Bill: Tax Reformation

Proposed: Parliment Member Johan Skijald (Nationalist Part)

Contents: Upon passing this will lower taxes for the lower and lower-middle-class brackets.

<Johan Skijald, Nationalist> I think that if we are to really ensure our economy gets up and running we should lower taxes for the lowest of society. These members will still pay taxes, but, will keep more of the money they earn. This economic strategy will give the people more money to buy stuff encouraging the consumer culture and jumpstarting the economy. A capitalist jumpstart is what I think this economy needs to grow again.

<Gøran Johnsrudm, Democratic Socialist> This is absurd, lowering taxes will give the government less money to spend on government-provided commodities. Endorsing this capitalist ideology is destructive and not the way to increase our economic power.

Bill: Hold a Healthcare Meet in Stockholm

Proposed: Parliment Member Christopher Sommerfelt (Technocratic Party)

Contents: This will allow a conference in Stockholm to be held to let private healthcare companies come in and demonstrate their ideas and case. This could lead to slowly veering off of the socialist path and trying to stir industry within the nation.

<Christopher Sommerfelt, Technocrat> I think that having as much privately owned companies and business diversity is key to reaching an economic stability. This will establish less government-owned companies and establish more freedom with business.

<Margrete Sogard, Democratic Socialist> This idea cannot work because these health care companies will not give as great healthcare as the government can. The government should provide for the citizens, not some corporate fat cat.

Bill: State-Company Agreement

Proposed: Parliment Member Marianne Thuesen (Technocratic Part)

Contents: A proposal to use leftover money and shoot it into the economy. All leftover funds at the end of the year will be used to invest in companies that are located within borders of the Confederation. In order to do this, the company must follow requirements given by the Confederation and fill out an application.

<Marianne Thuesen, Technocratic> The government should use the money it has left at the end of the year and put it back into the businesses. It is our job to make sure our economy grows. The government will ensure our businesses grow by investing in them. Of course, this investment will be returned with an interest rate so the government comes out profitable in the end. These profits will be used to build infrastructure, develop our education system, and put back toward the people.

<Gøran Johnsrudm, Democratic Socialist> The government should not have to give the businesses money. We could use these leftover funds for more things such as education or healthcare.

West Gothenburg Military Command Center
Gothenberg Confederation
March 23rd, 2055 AD
16:00

Supreme Commander Edgar Nodland, stepped into the facility. He was the commander of all Gothenburg's military forces, and now he was operating out of this command centre. This military base would be the Western head of mainland Gothenburg. It was a facility that was built by previously independent Norway. Now it was updated and ready for the Confederation to use. It would mostly be a research facility, but could also operate as a command centre in case of emergency. With the Gauss weapons and non-nuclear missile projects underway Nodland knew more projects could be pursued. His job was to make sure the Confederation was ready for any offensive and defensive manoeuvres.

His two new research projects would be a new MBT. This new tank would be called the TR-52. This tank would be ready to fight in the roughest of climates, and would hopefully give troops of the nation an advantage in combat. The computerized tank would be using a modified non-nuclear missile to fire out of its cannon. This tank would be a prime example of the Confederations newfound power.

The next project that the Supreme Commander opened was developing a new Cybercommand. This branch would be working for the military, but not considered a military branch. Instead, they would be government employees. The government would background check the employees to make sure the individual is trustworthy and has the education and experience necessary for the job. The cybercommand would be outfitted for only defensive purposes. Currently, the Gothenburg Confederation only needed to ensure that it was protected and nothing more.

Supreme Commander Edgar Nodland would be supervising this branch for a couple about a month to ensure the projects were started and he could help with as much as he could possibly help with. After about a month he would then travel to the new defences being built on the confederations eastern border. There he would inspect the progress being made and then return to Stockholm. He was a busy man as he was head of all the military in the Confederation. He was old and had seen the struggles over time. Edgar had just turned 57. He had seen many things, but, he is glad to oversee the Confederation. He felt that with his support that he would help see the success of the nation.

East Gothenburg Defense Build Up Project
Gothenberg Confederation
April 2nd, 2055 AD

Construction rages on as hidden forts, missile silos, anti-jets guns, bunkers, and overall defences were being built up. Most defences were hidden or camouflaged into the natural landscape. They were meant to protect Gothenburg in case of an attack, nothing more. This project was underway and nearing the end of the year the Supreme Commander would inspect the progress himself. The workers built as fast as they could knowing this would be one of the main defences against the cursed Russians in case they would advance on the nation. These defences would hold them off until reinforcements could arrive to push the front forward.

Forward Operating Base, Crete

"What do you mean you don't have the supplies my men need!?!?!" Colonel Haren was about to go to military high command and shoot these incompetents. "Sir we have been backlogged with orders from units on the front lines. We are barely getting them the supplies they need to continue the war, much fewer units like yours which are only occupying." The Colonel threw his hat on the ground and began yelling "NOW YOU LISTEN HERE YOU PENCIL PUSHER, WE ARE BEING REASSIGNED TO DEAL WITH THE SOUTHERN FONT IN GREECE! AM I CLEAR!" "Y-y-yy-yes sir I will see what I can do." The Colonel hung up and began to dust off his hat. Within a few weeks, the marine units that had taken Crete would be replaced with Military police and political officers while they would have to deal with the rebels. So far there had been little resistance on Crete but should that change.... well factories need workers don't they?

Forward Operating Base outside Athens...
"Artillery fire!" the sound of simultaneous artillery rounds being fired into the nearby Greek military positions were the first things Sergeant Sadam heard. The jannisarial Airborne divisions were laying siege to the Greek capital while waiting for the arrival of the army which was currently pushing from both the south and the north. They had set up postions around the city with the support of the Turkish navy and marine forces. Pamphlets were dropped daily encouraging the people to surrender the city and be treated humanely. So far its effects had been..... less than satisfactory according to their regimental Commissar. Only time would tell if it would be effective he suppsoed. "Artillery Fire!' and there went another salvo. He made a mental note to next time set up his tent as far from the artillery as possible.

Streets of Ismir, Turkey
"SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF TURKEY YOU HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE! JOIN US IN OUR FIGHT AGAINST THE SYNDCIALSIT SCUM!!!! WE SHALL RESTORE OUR EMPIRE TO ITS FORME-" The protestor went down as he was sprayed with bullets, blasted from a nearby riot officer. An old APC from the early 2000s rolled up with loudspeakers attached " WORKERS OF ISMIR, DO NOT BE DECEIVED BY THESE FALSE PROPHETS. REMEBER THE ATROCITIES COMMITTED BY THE SULTANS! REMEMBER THE PEOPLE OF CYPRUS! WE SWORE NEVER AGAIN TO LET THESE FASCISTS CONTROL US!!! DO NOT BE LED ASTRAY BY THEIR HONEYED WORDS! PLEASE HELP THE POLICE STOP THEM TO HELP YOURSELVES!" The APC rolled down the road as the message repeated. Suddenly the roof of the APC was on fire as Molotov were dropped on it. The Commander turned and looked at the top of one of the apartment complexes to see them lined with monarchists flying their flag. He pressed his radio " Directly on top of the apartment to your immediate west. Suppress the rooftop while ground teams enter the building. open fire when ready" "Yes Commander" The remote-controlled MG3 on the turret angled upwards and fired a burst at the rebels. Most of them ducked but a few were too slow and the rounds ripped through them as their corpses tumbled to the sidewalk.

The Eighth Internationale, Ankara
Demir Sadik took his place at the head of the table taking up most of the room. As he took his seat he looked around the room; representatives from each of the districts were debating different topics. He pressed the intercom on his desk "The Eighth Internationale is now in Session. Our first topic will be our plan to deal with the counter-revolutionaries. The delegate from Istanbul will now speak." The man straightened his shirt before beginning " As a representative of the workers of Istanbul I strongly urge that we take action and quickly crush these dissidents. If we allow them too long to live then we will be faced with a prepared enemy who will be entrenched and ready to fight back. We must crush them now while they are weaker so we can continue the spread of the worker's revolution. The rebels are disrupting our supplies to the front lines. We can not afford to pull troops from the front. So we must militarise our police force to more effectively deal with this outbreak. I propose we take our old equipment and equip the police with it. With a militarised police force we can fight this menace. Thank you." "We will now here the delegate from Ismir" The Woman stood and adjusted her glasses before beginning " While this would be a more efficient method to deal with the rebels you seem to forget that these are still our own people. We should not be so quick to arm the police when we can negotiate with them. I propose we invite them to peace talks and see what their demands are. Should they prove reasonable we can avoid more bloodshed and then focus our efforts on Greece and the Balkans." She proceeded to sit down. "Both ideas have merit. I propose a third option. We militarise the police but hold off on sending them in until we receive a reply from the rebels. They refuse our terms and we send in our forces. They accept and then everything is fine."
ISSUE: Rebels
Ismir Delegate: 68

[b]ISSUE: Relations with China
Delegate from Istanbul: "The Chinese have openly declared their support for the Monarchists who are splitting this country. I propose we take action and demand the Chinese stay out of our war. We should also seek help from another power in Pra'arazia and Join the RCZ. "
Delegate from Ankara:" I agree that we should seek help from Pra'arazia but we should not denounce the Chinese intervention lest we look like hypocrites."
Results:
Istanbul Delegate: 92
Ankara Delaget: 195

ISSUE: Propaganda campaign
Delegate from Ankara: " I would like to propose that we begin a propaganda campaign both to smear the monarchists and to highlight our syndicalist benefits such as democracy and workers unions. Also included we could encourage collectivization and the production of arms for the war effort."
Delegate from Istanbul: "While this would be a good proposal in peacetime this is not the time to promote an agenda. We should focus all of our efforts on uniting the country against the Greeks. If we smear the Monarchists then it will be for sure that they will not support peace talks and will definitely not unite with us against the Greeks."
Istanbul Delegate: 182
Ankara Delegate: 105

With the recent developments around the world, from the Black Thursday Incident to the Anatolian-Hellenic War, Shahanshah Juseff has seen it fit to call for a court meeting of all the royals and nobles across the United Shahdom. When all of the Shahs, Grand Satrap and Satraps have finally arrived from their respective Shahdoms and Satrapies they were escorted in one of the hundreds of halls of the Imperial Palace, guarded by the elite Javidan Guards. The moment that the last noble bowed and pledged to the Shahanshah and the greetings seemed to tone down, Juseff stood up and fixed his traditional robe and greeted everyone with a nod and a smile,

"Welcome brothers, today we are all gathered here to discuss some national matters. It is still our duty as servants to the populace of the United Shahdom to help them succeed, and advance in life. Remember that the people chose and trusted you and you must pay them in return, let this sink into your minds "The more you Give, the more you Receive", if you will invest for the improvements of your respective satrapies or shahdoms you will expect a better economy more money will come crawling to your respective lands. We are chosen by the people and so we serve for the people, this are not only titles but this is our responsibilities as nobles and royals, to help the needy, to educate the uneducated and to give jobs for the jobless. Work with your governors and Minister of State, together we will advance together we shall succeed!"

After his speech he went down to the crowd and greeted everyone and had small chats with them.

Antoun Azizi, walked through a hall greeted and greeting every person he passed by, he then turned left and was then greeted by two men in military uniform saluting him, "Welcome sir, they are here already."

"Carry On, and thank you" , lowering his hand from a stern salute he then placed is middle finger on a scanner to verify his identity, a sound of depressurizing is could be heard opening the sealed door. He walked in greeting several ladies and gentlemen in different military uniforms and a upper half of a bald general with a mustache in the screen, "Good Morning Generals, so how is everything in the Balkan Peninsula?"

General Olasam Akbar spoke from the screen, "Sir, we have a taken the islands in the Adriatic Sea including the Island of Crete. And we have also pushed in the northern portion of Greece. Though the supplies have been diminishing because of the rebellions in Istanbul, we can manage to push through as soon as we could stabilize the city, sir."

Fleet Adm. Rouin Goiporia, Chief of the Naval Staff spoke from the right side of Antoun, "You mentioned that we have the naval supremacy in the Adriatic Sea, so why not make another direct supply line via the navy and the air force. That would be better than forcing our way through Istanbul, but I would also like to suggest for the eradication of this rebels if the Turks want to continue with their Balkan Conquest."

"Noted Admiral, so I would expect a reinforcement from the Imperial Navy, is that so?"

"Yes, please notify Vice-Admiral Garsaudi for the coming ships leaded by Commodore Bobac Darbari."

"Yes Sir, thank you sir. On the other hand sir, will we be assisting against the rebels sir?"

Antoun straighten up, "Well you have mentioned it, Yes the Commander-in-Chief reminded me last night to assist against the rebels and so I will be sending 50,000 men for the complete annihilation of this rebellious peasants. But ofcourse they will not fire a bullet without the confirmation by the Turkish government, but just expect Major General Ayub Khan to be assisting you. "

"Very well sir, thank you sir."

Antoun stood up and gave another stern salute, "Okay Generals, Dismiss!"

Everyone stood up and gave a professional salute including Gen. Akbar, "Sir Yes Sir!"

After attending a regular khutbah attended by both Shias and Sunnis, the Shahanshah was blocked by a wall of cameras and reporters hungry for his comments and answers for the questions they feed him.

"Citizens of the United Shahdom, I would like to ask everyone to break this invisible force that is separating us from each other. We are all Muslims, we worship one God and that God is no other than Allah! It does not matte if you are a Shia or Sunni the important thing is that we are all brothers. What happened today here in the Great Mosque of Tahkt-e-Jamshid is an evidence that the Shias and Sunnis could pray in one place and live in harmony with each other, remember what is taught from the Qu'ran we pray in a clean, safe place. This activity is not limited only here in our Great Mosque but it is also happening all across the globe, we are brothers and we must be united as one. Live in harmony with each other, let us embrace each other! Alhamdulillah!"

2 days after this small speech, a major propaganda has been initiated, saying "No More Shia/Sunni Divide" , "Unity for Eternity" , "Pray Together for Allah" and many phrases and propaganda sketches has been published.

Well, it's been one or two years since the Ataxia plague first hit our shores and poisoned our people. However dark it was during those times, we made it through relatively ok. With the union having mostly recovered since that disaster, one would think that there shouldn't be anymore trouble heading our way for a while... Unfortunately, after a recent report that we just looked over, that doesn't seem to be the case. According to the report, we seem to have some sort of cult or well put together organization on our hands. There's been confirmed links between several abductions, robberies, as well as homicide and murders all connected to this group. We don't know what their name is or how many they have in their ranks, but this certainly spells trouble...

The air around the office space seems to be standard concerning the conditions across the country. Mostly sunny, with some cloudy skies, along with not much patrol cars wailing their sirens. Seems quiet... Too quiet... That's what got the higher ups in a bit of a spook today. Something must be happening and by God, they're gonna figure out what. As I'm walking into the meeting room, it looks like some of the top staff's already here, including one of the military generals. They were just waiting for me to arrive on time.

<ASIO Advisor> "All right. Now that the uhh, Director has arrived, let us begin the briefing. I promise you, you're gonna need to stay seated for this one." One of the employees readies a powerpoint, containing all the contents related for this said briefing.

<ASIO Director> "So glad of you to join us, ladies and gentlemen. Now, let's cut to the chase. We've been analyzing and going over everything that we could find mentioning something related to this organization, from police comms on the scene of various crimes, to forensics, everything we could find. We didn't find much on that front but this new development... Might have made a new breakthrough. One of the IPs we tracked contained links of shipments and orders of various military equipment, from explosives to firearms, body armor, and even a few armored vehicles. It's safe to say that whatever their little plans are, they're bigger. Bigger than we might have thought. We also have reason to believe they may have possibly been behind the scattered and minor attacks on our military installations. Now, we are currently prepping a strike force to-"

<UOF Military General> "Excuse me Director, but what makes you think this could be the buildup to some major attack? Obviously, we have recovered since the Ataxia Plague so there shouldn't be much of a reason to do such a th-" Now the general's words were interrupted by alarms and sirens going off. Something's just happened near headquarters. Looks like the briefing's suspended for the time being.

<ASIO Agent> "SIR! We have confirmed explosions as well as gunfire in Downtown!"

<Director> "WHAT?! Where exactly? What's going on?!" Explosions? Gunfire? The hell is this? It's not New Years or American Independence Day.

*Quick and incoherent radio chatter on the police radios until a certain transmission appears on the frequency*

<MPD Officer> <<Central, We have confirmed explosions at Crown Tower, I repeat. Confirmed explosions at Crown Tower, we have a 10-80 in progress. The lobby's bombed out to hell as well as confirmed detonations on the higher floors. Wait. What the? Central Dispatch, we have confirmed sightings of armed gunmen at the scene opening fire. Hopkins, get to cover! we have a 10-71 in progress! Requesting Code 11 immedia- They spotted us! Returning fi- Gyahhhhh! *gunfire and screams can be heard on the radio*>>

<ASIO Director> "Agents, we have an emergency situation! Move all available combat ready units to the scene immediately! Get that strike force ready and up in the air in 5 minutes, tops! We have to respond immediately! Just when I thought it couldn't get more boring than this..." I loaded my FN-38 pistol and shut the meeting door behind me. Shit's officially hit the fan today, and now we have a big problem...

Looks like it's almost time on the clock. Good thing they didn't check the luggage for anything suspicious beyond the layer of cloths. Security systems like these are so easy to trick and malfunction, it's laughable. The rest of them seem to be also ready to go just as I am. Excellent. In a few minutes, what happens here today, will change Oceania forever. No one... can be able to stop this, not even the government's goons. The time for our group to rise is upon us...

I quickly changed out of my business attire, which was really a disguise and into my more militarily appropriate combat gear, fitted with ballistic armor, bulletproof plating, grenades, you name it. Small group, but should deal a lot of damage. Safe to say they picked the right team for the job. Nothing like a bit of destruction on a good day such as this, especially in a nice, exquisite, and beautiful hotel such as this... How I can't wait to see it burn in smoke and rubble.

<Unknown Person> "This is Silver Eagle. Confirmed delivery of all packages in the nest. Awaiting orders. Over."

<???> "This is Intolerance. Prepare masks and await for the fireworks to kick off. Gonna be a hell of a kickoff, Over."

<Unknown> "Roger that, Intolerance. Prepping masks now. I'll hopefully see you by the end of this, Over." I pulled on my balaclava and then proceeded to attach the gas mask. It was a bit tight, especially around the back of my skull, but considering I won't be suffocating in smoke, I'll take it. And now, I'm just sitting on the bed with my AN-17, just taking the sights in before we turn it into a good old warzone... Boom, Boom. Boom, Boom. Showtime...

I kicked open my hotel door and proceeded to quickly gun down anyone that was still alive from the explosion in the hallway as the smoke starts to fill the place in a cloud of blindness. Be it security, civilian, didn't matter. Orders are to get them all, no questions asked. Right now, the rest of them have already cleared out the lobby and the upper floors and are making their way outside. Didn't matter. I could hear the sirens in the distance and many of them... They're gunning for us hard this time. No more little patrol cars like a few months ago. As I made my way down the stairs, I bumped into a security guard or two as I reached the bottom to the lobby entrance. Seems to me, they've already kicked the bucket from the fumes but it didn't matter for the poor bastards. I didn't have to bother wasting a bullet with them. And now, as I open the door to the lobby, now filled with ash and shrapnel, and a whole lotta bodies, I make my way outside to my team, which is already engaged with a patrol car on the scene. Looks like these city cops are quicker than the countryside. I'm kinda impressed. Didn't matter. Already, they mopped up the two souls and were making our way to the escape vehicle while taking a few lives here and there.

<Silver Eagle> "Surprised you weren't bomb food, Old Reliable. You could've fallen on the way down like Humpty Dumpty and we wouldn't put you back together."

<Old Reliable> "Put a sock in it, Silver Eagle. Focus on getting out of here, cause the fly boys have arrived, and they're in packs. They must be really hungry today after we starved them these past few months, eh?"

<Silver Eagle> "Yeah. Now come on Old Reliable. Gotta meet up with the rest of them."

Unfortunately, now the entire area was swarming with MPD and heavily armored grunts. It was like we're on the urban battlefields of Europe or Asia all over again. Slowly, but surely, we got to the escape car and sped off with the rest of the boys, while the rest of the blues are still confused and searching for us all over the place.

<Unknown Driver> "Good job everyone. You blew those UOF police boys right off their balance. They're gonna be reeling in embarrassment from this for weeks to come."

<Unknown Person> "Hell yeah! And the only thing we have to worry about is if we're getting paid after this or what. After that, we can change our identities after this and relax on a tropical island in the Bahamas."

<Old Reliable> "Now, now. Let's not celebrate just yet. We have to get ready to depart... And then catch the attack on the nightly news."

We made it out of there alive that day... But even then, as a mercenary hired by these weird cultish guys, I still question whether working with them and killing all those innocent people was the best move for myself or my morals. But, I have cash to distract me until then so I think that should be what counts.

I don't believe it. Our country, attacked by a few well armed goons and have already taken more than 400-500 in their terror. Many more are wounded, but they can recover from their wounds, I know it. This has proven to be one of the worst terrorist attacks in our nation's history, without a single doubt. And now because of them, the media fallout from this is staggering to say the least. "Oceanians can't prevent terror," "Aussies are wussies," you name it. It's gonna take a serious effort and a miracle to get the press off my neck for this one. What a clusterfuck...

The flashes and shouting of reporters outside my office just never ends. Even as I tell them to go away, they still keep coming. The media's turned into nothing but wild dogs and I can't help but feel cowardly just sitting in here. One of my advisors was able to squeeze through the onslaught of reporters, and as well as Vanessa. It's been a while since I've seen her face...

<Advisor> "Mr. Dullenfield, we need to do something and address the media onslaught outside. I... Can't even get in cause I'm smushed under a pile of damn civvies!"

<Dullenfield> "All right. All right... Let them in." And so, the surge of reporters and cameras came flashing into the office faster than possibly a bullet. They were ravenous today, and so time to give them the scraps.

<Sky News Reporter> "Mr. Dullenfield! I'm with Sky News and I have a question. How did the Crown Tower Attack happen and who could've-" He was quickly interrupted by another reporter, possibly from some European news outlet or something.

<European Reporter> "Sir! Is there anything you could possibly do to help aid the families of those injured or dead? What is your course of action?!" They never... End. Now an American reporter shows up, but it's not even related to the recent attacks.

<American Reporter> "Sir, what's your comment on the expansion into New Guinea alongside Malaysia? Could this spark a possible cold war? Tensions rising- Mr. President?"

<Dullenfield> "ENOUGH! Give me some breathing room here, I can't answer a single question with an onslaught on my damn head here!" The room just fell into dead silence for a moment. That's enough time for me to think... "Ok. From what I've gathered from on the scene reports, the Crown Tower Attack was carried out by small explosives planted in various floors of the hotel. After the detonations of said explosives, armed gunmen were seen mowing down civilians inside and outside the hotel before disappearing from the daylight. Now, only a crew that has the equipment and the knowhow of architecture of the building could've pulled this off and I believe this also correlates to that cult I've been hearing occasional reports about from time to time. I am working out a plan to deal with this state of affairs, but I need some time. As for the injured and dead, I suppose we will offer a small compensation for the loss of your loved ones or friends. I'm sorry that such a tragedy was allowed to occur under my presidency. Now, as for the New Guinea expansion, no comment. I'm not concerned with their affairs as of this moment. Now, dismissed. All of you."

And so, they poured out of the room, chatting amongst themselves over how they're possibly gonna take this out of context or make something else out of this, but I don't care right now. All I want is the crew that did this dead, as vengeance for their crimes and spitting in the face of our security, and how... Is gonna take a while.

<Advisor> "Sir... What do we do now?" He said nervously.

<Dullenfield> "... Get me... The top generals. In my office. Next. Month. We're going on the offensive..."

Well, we're sitting at our seats with our thumbs up our arse and no end to this endurance test of sitting and waiting for the proposed new bills or laws to come into play so we can vote, grab our checks and move on before I die of boredom here. Seriously, can we get some fast food in this joint? I'm fucking starving here! - UOF Parliament Member, after being stuck waiting for the new proposals to arrive, for 1 or 2 weeks straight

Official Proposal Of The United Oceanic Federation

Proposal: Secure and Prevent Crime Before It Happens Act or SAPCBIHA (H & C is silent)

Effects: The establishment of a new federal police division, with the sole duty of preventing crime before it even happens, using the latest in government technologies to spy on potential criminals or threats to the nation.

<Pro Argument>: "I think this is a good idea for the future security of our country. After all, if the Crown Tower Attack already occurred, what makes you think it won't happen again, but possibly even worse? I say, we establish a new police division and keep these possible threats to our great country subdued and under control.

<Against Argument>: "ARE YOU MAD OR HAVEN'T HAD ENOUGH SLEEP?! This just sounds straight out of a sci-fi film or ripping off the exact same thing the PRC did a few decades ago! We may be a stratocracy, but we are NOT a dystopian regime. This is nothing but the first step towards tearing down our civil liberties and our rights. Tear down this act and give whoever thought of this insane idea a good exile or so, or maybe send them out into open combat in New Guinea!"

For: 6
Against: 294

The Parliament has decided to send the maker(s) of such an authoritarian and civil breaching law into the New Guinea warfront as infantry soldiers as a punishment for attempting to breach the UOF's civil freedoms and privacy. It is also secretly hoped among some of the Parliament that these scum are quickly mowed down by the enemy to put to rest such an act.

DO NOT REMOVE - 01673237

Official Proposal Of The United Oceanic Federation

Proposal: Ataxia Transparency Act

Effects: The release of all documented records, including violent acts against infected civilians committed by UOF military soldiers and recorded by the government during the Ataxia Plague Outbreak from 2052 to 2053, and compensation and a letter of forgiveness for the victims families.

<Pro Argument>: "It's been two or so years since that was mostly wiped away. I think we need to reveal our crimes that we've committed during the time and let the public know what truly happened behind those walls and checkpoints. Leaving this away in the archives without going into the light is nothing but hiding away history from the people."

<Against Argument>: "Come on now. The public's not gonna really care about the records of some dumb outbreak that happened a
couple years ago, much less to bother with what happened behind those walls anyway. I say we just leave them where they are and just move on with it. And compensating for the victims? HAH! That's nothing but wasted taxpayer's money."
For: 226
Against: 74

The UOF government will release the documents of all related knowledge pertaining to the Ataxia Outbreak in the UOF, including all records on crimes committed by involved UOF military troops against the infected, yet innocent people of the Federation. Compensation in the form of cash, and a letter from the government detailing how sorry they are to allow this to happen under a blind eye.

Official Proposal Of The United Oceanic Federation

Proposal: The Nuclear Deal

Effects: To finally put those uranium ores in the Outback to good use in nuclear power plants, the creation of our own nuclear missiles, and more.

<For Argument>: "I think we've been far behind in the world of technology. We have the Europeans with their fusion plants and India with their own WMDs, and meanwhile, we still have conventional power and nothing that could match the power of a nuclear missile! We need to get to action on what Dullenfield wanted: A nuclear capable Oceania!"

<Against Argument>: "Oh really? And what about the uranium mines that possibly open? How do we tackle that can of worms?! And the environment... We could just figure out a way to use the Outback without needing nuclear power or weapons, you know! Just think of the world and... Please don't do it. In case some despot dictator comes to power."

For: 150

The debate and vote is a tie. Unfortunately, this issue is not completely out of the picture... A review and revote of this issue will take place 6 to 9 months from now, with the lawmakers hopefully having made up their mind by then.
Well we are Socialist Democrats and we have Filthy Frank. Nation's Motto In Full: "Because of You, We'll Fight And Some Will Die... Because of You, We'll Always Try...

Blue skies over the capital, an group of elderly men and women were in sync in the park, stretching their arms upwards towards the clouds.

"Reach up now. And one, two, three. Rest. One, two, three. Rest..."

Tomás, for the age he was, a ripe sixty-five, was in fit condition, leading the group of grey haired Sudaméricanas through the radio exercise. "Now reach down. One, two, three. Rest. One, two, three. Rest..." he repeated, reaching towards his toes. "Now don't exert yourself too much, my friends. Don't want to pull a muscle."

Slowly and gracefully, went their day time routine. Tomás, always leading his group in the exercises, guiding them to keep in shape for their age. For the past month and a half, he had been doing this, and enjoying it. The fresh air, nice day in the park. Grand time, that national radio was, along with the government pay. No other job could be as relaxing and easy.

"Earlier this afternoon, the National Congress, on a vote three-to-one, had accepted a series of budgets increases to the nuclear energy sectors, seeing some backlash from anti-nuclear groups. Some citing it as '...an unnecessary danger and poison to our environment." - Times Today Sudamérica

"What they don't see is that we've also been doing hydro-electric programs as well" President Vasquez muted the television report, flipping through his budget proposals. The same budgets that had been accepted, but unpopular. "But it is their job, I suppose. Getting back to the topic at hand. Infrastructure. How goes it, Monaldo?"

"For now, my President, it seems to be going smoothly. " The Interior Minister answered, fiddling his fingers with a glass of brandy. "With the migrants, we could perhaps hire them to work on the labor. It will be a long process, but it would help us greatly. Speaking of those Peruvians, what are we to do with them?"

"I would like, for now, to take them in. Build ourselves for the people of South America. Makes us look good."

A pause for a moment, as the South American president took another sip. "Perhaps I should talk with some of the army as well. I'm sure you have more important matters to attend to rather than to continue an answered question."

"Yes, Mr. President. I'm sure we can continue at another time?" The minister asked, finishing the glass.

"Of course."

Weapon projects were on their continued development. Naval, air, and army assets were being designed without name, with exception for the Tronador IV. An intermediate range rocket as a continued development and replacement for the older Tronador rockets. Development for an assortment of warheads and greater range was in mind.

Tanque Sudaméricana, a place-holder name, was put into greater emphasis than the Tronador. It was to give ground superiority to Sudamérican forces in rough terrain and climates with greater emphasis on computer systems and crew survivability. It would be armed with a remote control one-hundred twenty-five millimeter main gun, complementing for a low turret silhouette. This would be the plan at least.

All Projects:

Project: Transportation, Communications, and Shipyard Infrastructure; (20%) Proceeding as planned

Project: Energy Sources; (4%) In R&D stages

Project: Tronador IV; (13%) In R&D stages, Scale presentation mock-ups being devised

Project: Tanque Sudaméricana: (10%) Presentation mock-ups being built

Project: Fighter project; (10%) In R&D stages

Project: Submarine, Nuclear refitting; (16%) Readying first two submarines.

Project: D-X Destroyer Project; (8%) In R&D stages

Project: V-X Carrier Project; (4%) In R&D stages

Project: Nuclear arms; (1%); Canceled; funds now diverting towards conventional arms and energy development

War does not determine who is right, but only who is left...
-Bertrand Russel

Boarder states

With the underground drug cartels making runs back in the US, It was time for the nation to combat this threat. In Tijuana, California, 4 proto-type walls were on display. Each of the walls was about thirty feet high but each have their own design on how the wall should look. As of this moment, boarder monitoring has increased exponentially with more boarder troops than there have been in the past years ever since President Trump from 2016-2024. Image
Each wall is to undergo inspection on if underground tunnels are possible and if the wall can be damaged. The wall is scheduled to be built in 2060, but is subjected to change with the new presidential election coming up soon.

Bill: Laser defense Grid system

Proposed: Republican member Derick

Contents: The installment of laser-based defense grid across the US to prevent any Airborne attacks at greater efficiency

Republicans: I believe that this proposal would help empower our defenses of enemy air attacks, especially those from the upper atmosphere as well

Democratic: I agree that this would protect us from air-attacks, this also would allow us to help focus on helping our allies without the fear that we will be attacked.

Green: Now hold on a minute, how will we be able to fund the necessary energy needed to power these defense systems. I hope you do not mean to us Nuclear power to operate these systems.

Libertarian: As the Usage with the defense system is useful, I highly doubt we need to break our ties with any of our allies.

Constitution: I agree with the Republicans on this matter, but this could also call for disengaging our alliance with the IDF, war is on the horizon between the IDF and the newly established RCZ, which is in violation of the Treaty of Paris.

Bill: Creation of the Pan-American Alliance

Proposed: Democrat Michael Critan

Contents: Creating a alliance with countries on the American continent

Republican: This alliance could expand our sphere of influence, not too mention bring us closer to bringing all countries on the two continents together.

Democrat: This alliance will in fact broaden our ties, but will also restrict Pramilandert possibly from any further expansion, if the "Empress" has any

Green: I highly doubt we need any more alliances, being a part of the IDF is more than enough

Libertarian: This alliance is not needed, especially since we already have the IDF

Constitution: Why make a second one? Just break our alliance with any of those we are allied with and keep out of THEIR wars.

Eric: Tonight, uproar in the capital building, many stating that a newly drafted Bill by the house of representatives has gotten under the skin for many citizens and many of the house of representative members. War in Turkey, how the people of Turkey are facing this conflict. From NBC news world Headquarters in New York, this is NBC nightly news, with Eric Darnel.

Eric: Good evening every, I'm Eric Darnel, and tonight, Uproar in the capital building. A proposal made by Republican member Ezekiel Goodwin has many stunned and astonished. Today earlier, House of representative member Ezekiel Goodwin proposed the unthinkable.Video
Ezekiel: We have once been the greatest power in the world, but now we sit back and twiddle our thumbs while other powers rampage. Even our allies from the beginning were nothing but war mongers, yet we stand aside and did nothing! With this, I propose to the not only us pulling out of the IDF, but to fully embargo any IDF members!Video ends
Eric: Shocking, now not only did this get major backlash not only from the public but from much of the politicians, others state he is speaking only the truth, and because of it, many are rallying to his cause. Also tonight, war in the middle East in Anatolia, Turkey in the middle of a civil war, with both sides undertaking massive combat. With countries taking sides on who to support, it seems that this war might not go anywhere take a look.
news reel in turkey
Streets of ismir, Turkey....machine gun fire once a place of peace, now a battlefield between the rebelling monarchist and the syndicalist. It seemed to have started with the rise of an ottoman noble by the name of Muhammet Tahsin, wanting to replace the communist government. Then just a few weeks ago, a protest was in progress when a military apc vehicle opened fire on the protest group killing a few of the protesters. With these it seems that the war will only escalate, especially with the notice of IDF forces on both sides... Bryan Goldbloom, NBC news.
Eric: Tragic it is in turkey...Now for a more recent and at home event. Students at MIT have been making grand plans for the future. Coming to you after the break.

It has begun, the news add for the first presidential candidate has been released. Candidate Eric Gram has been announced for the Democratic party, and has seen a large movement for his rise into the oval office. The Republican party is stated to announce their candidate later this year...
Eric sat in his office, looking at his documents. He was actually gonna do it, he was gonna run for president. Then came a knock at his door. "Come in." The door opened and Montero came in.
"Good afternoon sir, you have a big day tomorrow. Why you staying up? You need your rest for your appearance tomorrow."
"I know montero, just a bit nervous is all. How go with the investigation as to who my opponent is?"
"So far the Republicans have remained hushed about it. But we can expect an announcement anytime soon."
"The longer they wait, the less info we have on him... I'm heading to bed montero, like you said, I have a big day ahead of me."
Eric walked out of the room and left his office building. As he was about to enter his car, a person came by. "Why hello, Eric Gram."
"Hello to you to. What brings you to be out late?"
"Oh, just a late night stroll. Heard about your candidacy, congratulations should be in order."
"They would be if my candidacy is FULLY secured."
"Well then, you have a mighty mountain to climb my friend." the man smiled.
"What do you mean?" Eric questioned the man.
"For I am Kronck Lepek, the Presidential Candidate for the Republican Party"
Eric nearly falls over from the shock. "Your the Republican Presidential Candidate? "
"That's right, and judging by your reaction, I have learned a lot about you already. Best get some your rest, for this will be quiet the show" Kronck smiled and nodded his head at Eric and continued his way off down the road. Eric was just awestruck that his rival for the presidency just said hello to him.

Internal Affairs

A group of around 12 men sat around a long conference table in a little known hotel in downtown Pune. Pune itself was a struggling city, having taken the full economic and social blow after the tragic destruction of the great City of Mumbai in a nuclear hellflame, the city had become the largest in the state of Maharashtra and one of the most important in the Bharat Confederacy as a whole. It had served as an important base of power for the Raj Conservative Party (now the Conservative Union of Bharat) in South-central India. Hence why these 12 men, all high ranking members and affiliates of the Conservative Party had met, without the knowledge of their Party Leader and Prime Minister even being told, they were here to replace him.

It would not take a genius to figure out that Kiian Sajil was highly unpopular. His sometimes childish behavior, lack of bravery and guts in he face of other world leaders, tendency to not listen to his advisors, and his warlord like behavior had caused this secret gathering to find a suitable replacement for the next election that is to be held next year. As the last of the men sat down, many with their coffee in hand, the meeting was started by perhaps the most outgoing person there.

<Daas Banahatti> Men of the party! It is my honor to welcome you to this meeting, I'm sure you are all informed of our goal to decide upon a suitable replacement of dear old Mr Sajil?

<Chatur Achaval> It is indeed, but my friend, why must you make it seem as if you called this meeting? All of us agreed on this idea at the same time, perhaps you're simply trying to heighten your chances of becoming our next candidate for Prime Minister? Your time as mayor of Daylabutabad would certainly explain so...

<Rhitanshu Ayyar> Would you two quit your babbling? We have important topics to discuss here, the facts are that Kiian is a terrible leader. And his tendency to spy or *cough cough* "examine" people in his own party that dislike him show that he is unfit of running for a third term. We need a replacement, I volunteer Mr. Jaswant Upasani, governor of Punjab.

<Jaswant Upasani> Nonsense old friend, I am the longest running governor of an Indian state in modern history, I won't step down only to likely lose the next election.

<Chatur Achaval> We need a new leader before the campaign begins, Kiian's chances of winning are next to none if the early polls show us anything!

<Arpit Nijasure> My dear friends, I would think the next candidate should be clear. I believe federal judge Veer Panja should be our next party head. He's a strict constitutionalist with a wide range of support not only with our fellow right-wingers but Libertarians as well. He is infinite times more popular than our current doofus of a Prime minister.

<Abhinav Dattachaudhuri> What a great idea! With the amount of parties running in this election higher then ever, we'll need a candidate to pull from other voting bases! All in favor of Mr. Panja?

*8 hands raise in the air*

<Arpit Nijasure> Very good, we should probably inform him of his new role! And remember, this is secret until the campaign draws near.

November 1, 2054 - Paris, France

Minister Fresnel of the Ministry of War rests in his chair in Paris. A number of governmental organizations have been scrambling to move their central offices to Paris in accordance to Resolution 20540201.3, also known as the Centralized Capital Act. The Ministry of War took precedence over the other organizations, and was the first to be moved. His office has, for the most part, been unpacked save for three small boxes lying in the corner. He stands up and begins to unpack the boxes, putting a picture of himself and his family carefully on the table. As he continues to unpack, someone knocks at the door.

<Fresnel> "Come in."

The door opens with General Huygens, the commander which holds military units in South Spain.

<Fresnel> "Shouldn't you be in Seville?"

<Huygens> "I was sent to Paris for a week due to the change in location, but I have a confirmed report concerning the Realm of Algeria."

<Fresnel> "Oh?"

He slides a piece of paper on the desk towards Fresnel. The document details Algerian construction of what appears to be a canal along with construction of a naval base andsub movement of Pramilanderti soldiers into Beni Chiker, one square mile in the middle of the Tibouda Peninsula.

<Fresnel> "Why Pramilanderti forces have moved to a town with no sea access is beyond me, it's hardly a threat in the slightest. The construction of this canal, however, is troubling."
Satellite imagery detailed in the documents show the construction of a canal through the Tingitana Peninsula, flowing from the Mediterranean to the Atlantic.
<Fresnel> "This is an obvious attempt to undermine the Strait of Gibraltar, cutting right under European territorial waters... Dock several more ships at the naval base in Gibraltar and send a regiment of soldiers to Melilla. Economic sanctions on the Realm of Algeria is going too far, but steps should be taken to stop the construction of this canal. Along with this, the construction of a radar base in Murcia and Corsica would be beneficial, along with the expansion of the military bases located in both areas."

<Huygens> "Understood, I will send a battalion to Melilla and I will request a naval transfer from Bilbao."

General Huygens leaves the room and Minister Fresnel views the possibility of military support for rebels in the former state of Yemen. Several hours later, he receives an alert that he has been requested in the war room. Once walking into the room, which is much larger than the former one in Brussels, he is met by General Curie, General Pretre, and various other military commanders of different importance. The large screen on the wall perpendicular to the door shows a map of Madrid and Spain, with satellite imagery of unauthorized forces.

<Fresnel> "What the hell?"

<Curie> "We've just gotten confirmation, rebel forces have taken over large parts of Madrid."

<Fresnel> "What of the Spanish police?"

<Curie> "They were unable to keep them down, it was a quick rebellion. The Premier of Spain is missing, and it appears that Fidel Martinez is responsible."

<Fresnel> "Martinez? I had heard a report from the EAS that he was spotted in Madrid, but I had hoped it wasn't for rebellious activity..."

<Curie> "Evidently, it was. However, we have three proposals for how to deal with the situation."

She sets three files on the desk in front of Fresnel.
<Curie> "Proposal one is detailed by General Pretre, and details a response of blockade. We would stop all air traffic over the city, cut off all water, sewage, and power systems, scramble signals going in or out of the city, and not let any supplies enter. We'd essentially starve the rebels out of Madrid."
She points at the second document
<Curie> "Proposal two is detailed by Marshal Nobel, and details a complete military occupation of the city. Air support, ground occupation, cyber warfare, and light satellite use would all be warranted.
She holds up the third document
<Curie> "Proposal three is detailed by General Laplace, and details a diplomatic solution. We would give Martinez several days of our time to discuss the position of Spain and the United Republic. We will stop air traffic over the city and we will only allow humanitarian aid to enter while discussions are in place."

<Fresnel> "I don't think any of these are completely right. Rather, a combination would be in order."

<Curie> "Such as?"

<Fresnel> "The diplomatic approach would be taken, but we would only give Martinez two days to respond to our diplomatic initiative to invite him to Barcelona for talks. If he refuses, we would use Spec Ops with air support to take back the city, with the added benefit of testing our cyber warfare divisions."

The debate continues for hours between the five generals, but Fresnel's modification of the Laplace Plan won out in the end. The general plan was drafted and sent to Parliament.

November 3, 2054 - London, England

The Parliament of the United Republic has gathered, yet again, in London. With the Civil War in China, the wars in the Balkans, the Madrid Crisis, and the expansion of the reach of Pramilandert, World War IV seems inevitable.

Resolution No. - 2055
Bill - Laplace Plan of Madrid
From - Rene Laplace, General, ULPE [Centrist]
Sponsors - Alice Moore, Parliament, ULPE [Socialist]
Opposition - Norbert Barbier, Parliament, NPE [Imperialist]
Description - A resolution to diplomatically resolve the Madrid Crisis
Relatives - Null

<Moore> "A course of action as peaceful as the Laplace Plan is rare in a Department of War as violent as ours. The situation in Madrid has become dire, and I believe that this is the best course of action to resolve it. We need to show that we are a nation which is willing to extend words of peace before war."

<Barbier> "You do understand that this is Fidel Martinez, correct? The dictator of Fenezuela for fifteen years. This is not a man who will respond to peace, he simply wants an independent Spain and to weaken us further. I say we put the Pretre plan into action, and initiate the Nobel plan a month later. This will serve as an example for rebels.

Resolution No. - 2055
Bill - Eurozone Act
From - Ingemar Jakobsson, Minister, DSGF [Democratic-Socialist]
Sponsors - Emily Boyle, Parliament, ULPE [Socialist] | Jonatán Aguayo, Parliament, ECP [Centrist]
Opposition - Severo Rio, Parliament, ERP [Republican]
Description - A resolution to restart the Eurozone, initially consisting of
Relatives - Null

<Boyle> "This is a prime opportunity to expand our influence throughout Europe! After the fall of the Eurozone, European economies were hit hard, scrambling to implement a new currency. The rebirth of the Eurozone would allow Europe to prosper together, supporting our weaknesses and bolstering our strengths."

<Augayo> "I would like to remind Mrs. Boyle that the largest shortcoming of the Eurozone was the lack of fiscal union. Trying to group together different economies under a single currency doesn't work unless fiscal policies are united. An offset of the Gothenburg and European Parliaments could be created, a council of sorts to deal with economic laws. Of course, some areas such like fishing which do not have massive influence over both of our economies, will remain up to the nation in question. However, for large industries which both nations share, a fiscal union is required if a monetary one is established."

<Rio> "This would just be complicating our bureaucracy even further. We do not benefit from allowing nations to adopt and mint our currency. It was the actions of the deranged David Mittchel and the ineptitude of the Swedish legislature in the face of economic crisis. While the Nordic Treaty fell, a number of former members of the Nordic Legislature remain in positions in the Gothenburg Federation. Allowing them to mint our currency would only lead to economic turmoil for ourselves, they cannot be trusted with our currency."

Resolution No. - 2055
Bill - Murgadel Act
From - Agusti Murgadel, Parliament, ECP [Centrist]
Sponsors - Agusti Murgadel, Parliament, NPE [Centrist]
Opposition - None
Description - A resolution to reform the government into a merit-based system, counteracting Patronage
Relatives - Null

<Murgadel> "Patronage is corruption, no way around it! While few and far between in the United Republic, the possibility of Patronage still exists. We should outlaw introducing federal officers based solely on gender, race, or relationships with whoever assigns the office. We need a completely merit-based system."

November 5, 2054 - Paris, France

Louis Hubble sits with bated breath, watching the live broadcasting an announcement from Chancellor Reltih, confirming the Russian nuclear arsenal and claiming a goal of constructing a sizable arsenal to deter attacks from the International Democratic Federation. This action, completely forbidden by the Treaty of Paris, did not surprise the President. He had expected the Russian Federation of harboring a nuclear arsenal since the signing of the Treaty. However, after deliberation, he had decided on calling a press conference. With election season arriving, any opportunity to appear strong was one which needed to be taken.

Spending several minutes preparing the base of his speech and after slowly meandering to the other end of his residence, he arrives at the press conference. The room is filled with people from several major news stations and newspapers, he steps into the room and waits for the chatter to cease.

<Hubble> "This evening, Chancellor Rileth of the Russian Federation, announced yet another violation of the Treaty of Paris. The maintenance and reconstruction of a nuclear arsenal, clearly prohibited in Article 3, Section 12 of the Treaty of Paris, has been made public by the Russian administration. This action, clearly a threat towards the Northern Slavic Empire, the Gothenburg Confederation, and the allies they both respectively contain, has only served to destroy the balance of peace in Eastern Europe further. Multiple precautions have been taken by the United Republic to preserve the safety of our people and those of allied nations. The violent actions of the Russian Federation will not be taken lightly.

The situation in China has become dire, as has the situation in Anatolia. In the span of several months, two Civil Wars have erupted in major powers: this does not bode well for those who are left standing. The United Republic would like to officially announce militaristic neutrality, while diplomatically supporting the effort of both the Collective Syndicates of Turkey and the Republic of China respectively."

He clears his throat, preparing a statement about the event everyone was waiting for: the Madrid Crisis

<Hubble> "The Madrid Crisis will go down in history as a day which the United Republic was tested. Martinez Fidel and his band of rebels has occupied large sections of Madrid, and many have waited with baited breath at the actions of the United Republic. While it is public that the armed forces have surrounded the city, we will not attack offensively unless provoked. We offer Martinez to a conference at Barcelona, where the future of Spain may be determined. The United Republic has shed its violent ways of the past in hopes for a brighter and more peaceful future."

May 1, 2055 - Avlose, France

The United Republic election has been looming over the head of President Hubble. His victory in the 2050 elections was an immensely close one, hardly making the Presidency. He sets out from his office to the national headquarters of the United Republic Futurist Party in Avlose and arrives early in the morning. Walking into the building, he is greeted by the Party Speaker in Parliament, Pierre Lamarck. They shake hands and take seats with other party members at the back of the headquarters.

<Hubble> "It was no surprise that I won the party primaries, Brehm never stood I chance."

<Lamarck> "Brehm was unpopular, especially with that whole Pretoria Scandal. That was the easy part, however, now we have the national elections ahead. The Socialists have been gaining a significant amount of party popularity, especially in the last election."

<Köhne> "It's the Brits, the Socialists support further federalizing to give the Dominions absurd amounts of power. With this whole Madrid Crisis, the Socialists may be able to topple our power."

<Hubble> "Maybe we could win just yet... A coalition could be in order."

<Lamarck> "With who, the Centrists?"

<Hubble> "Precisely, the Centrists and us share many similarities. Our political compass is similar and both parties share a distrust for the radicalized parties. We could make good allies."

<Lamarck> "Hm... that could be a good idea, it would allow us to secure our place and would give the Centrists a boost in power. What do you think, Edving?"

<Köhne> "We won't lose anything if we try, but we have so much to gain."

<Lamarck> "Agreed, I'll speak with Max Pierels over at the Centrist headquarters. I'll set up a meeting and fly over to Bern on Monday."

November 8, 2055 - Paris, France

Debates have continued to rage on for weeks about who will take their party's votes. The coalition between the Technocratic and Centrist parties was announced several weeks ago, forcing other parties to spend abhorrent amount of money to push their platform.. The primaries ended quickly, and the candidates each party selected had been decided. They all joined to give a speech and set their place, yet again, on issues in the Electoral Debate Hall.

<Hubble> "If you were an alien civilization which existed 1000 years ago and you were asked "Which of these areas would you think will be the great powers of the world in the next few hundreds of years?" The answer was, of course, very obvious: not Europe. The Far East had invented gunpowder, the compass, porcelain, and paper. The Middle East had Arabic Numerals, algebra, optics, and surgery. They were considered the great powers of the world... but then something changed. Europe had begun to focus more on science and technology, ascending from the dark ages a mighty Phoenix. After embracing science, Europe had become the undisputed power capital of the world, no one was even close! It is only when a nation embraces science, technology, and rationality that a nation becomes powerful. Europe is a place of great technological growth and prosperity. Under my continued guidance, we can become an unrivaled scientific power, towering over the rest of the civilizations like we once did! West Europe, now united, has the capacity to take our technological prowess to a level unmatched by any other civilization. I will put greater focus on research and development, our intellectuals will get more respect and funding, and Europe will take it's place in the world as the true center of power! Vote technocrat!"

<Pearce> "Europe is a diverse continent, filled with a slew of cultures and ethnicites. Our nation has many different people from many different walks of life, and equality is an issue which is overshadowed by other pressing issues that nations face. However, equality is not seen to be complete. Many nations in the republic are seen as subjects to France, the republic masquerading as a union yet controlled in France by the former French government. This is not a union, this is an empire. Under my rule, I will break down this empire into a more fair and equal union. The former government will be replaced with one elected by the union as a whole, not carrying over from the former French Union. We are a large nation, and we should represent all of our people. With the British nationalist movement and the Madrid Crisis, we need to be a nation of the people first. Vote socialist!"

<Rio> "The United Republic is a nation, although centered around technology, heavily reliant on our economic sector. However, under our current government, the economic sector has been largely ignored by that of the militaristic and scientific sectors: this is no more. Economics is a large driver of a nation's power, and it will be a focus under my government. Economic reform to encourage the creation of new technology focused companies to increase competition and to revitalize our economy. Economics is power, let us not forget that. Every man and woman will have the capacity to take care of themselves without need of a welfare system. Little unemployment with high pay, a turbulent and competitive market where the success of the company and of the people are directly intertwined! Vote republican!"

<Fresnel> "Allow me to ask a very simple question, Europeans. Who does the future belong to? Does it belong to us, our enemies, or someone else? Historically, the world has belonged to who has enough guns to win it and enough power to hold it. We are weak as of now, our nation is soft and is incapable of dealing with rebellions without compromising. Over the Presidency of Mr. Hubble we have seen a rebellion in Britain and an uprising in Madrid. Our nation has no backbone, and we need to grow one to be able to survive in the shifting web of power that is the 21st century. Neighboring nations pose a threat to us due to their proximity, and therefore must be terminated. In a world such as our own, borders have to expand to survive. Vote imperialist!"
