Hey I was the most recent Italy, so please be more specific, Arvenia's ruled Italy. Well his first move was making Vatican as it's protectorate

What the fu- how the hell did Byzantium manage to pull off however many naval invasions they did, at least two, in such a short amount of time, against 150,000 prepared and dug-in defenders, without any preparation time as far as I can tell and just coming out of a literal global war?
