That's not really how populations work. They produce excess foodstuff because, like Egypt, their river is terribly efficient at making their farms productive.

Yeah, everyone's farms are all terribly efficient :P The standard for everyone's rivers are the Nile and Golden Crescent

I mean the Sand Elves are like really Nile-ish. The rest of the Elves don't have anything on the Sand Elves, who have a high population but tend to stay where they are.

Meanwhile no-one asks Edwyn why his island is called "Redwater Island". Especially the people who live there who all probably remember the day he renamed the island after his rivals on his predecessor's council were all found in the river.

Prolly also knows that he massacred literally the entire former council of the Island. From the Court Physician all the way up to the Castellain, with the exception of the Commander.

Yeah I understand that ;)

However, Egypt's population was still less than 4 million during the 1800s, therefore I ask, that there is excess food, because the populace cannot match their consumption with the farm's production capacity? Sand dwellers can have a good compact population, but compared to others their numbers aren't that great.

For example, the population of the Kozakuran Sub-Continent is about 60 million, in plains of both sides of the great mountains. Tho if we factor in percentages Kozakuran exports within total production would be a low number due to the extremely high consumption of the populace.

It's more likely because Elves have a slower reproductive cycle, really.

Yes. So the Sand Elf populations are relatively small ?

relatively, they're still decently populated. High amounts of reproduction with a slow cycle means moderate population.

Yeah... that was kinda off.

Which kinda reminds me, the heck happens later? Does Edwyn just wake up in a Tavern with an infant on the table doing algebra or some shit?

Indeed, Elves were never known for large populations, instead relying on 'leave me alone' and human infighting to keep the balance of the world :p I'm guessing about 3-5 million of the Sand Elves, who live primarily along the river?

Oh, and as a note to anyone seeking character RP and a place to introduce themselves and start out, Terzi has a massive port full of all types of people: all races, all classes, all backgrounds, et cetera. Think of it as a medieval version of Mos Eisley spaceport. You could certainly have a classic adventure start from a tavern there.

Kozakura is teeming with monsters too. The underground caves of the Central Mountains are still unexplored. Who knows, you might stumble upon a King's hoard of precious metal!
