Anyway, I just thought I'd try to force a start to the summit. If we focus too long on arrivals, we're never going to move forward, that's my personal opinion.

Same. Want me to have Edwyn start a conversation with Tommen since Alb is probably asleep?

Yeah go ahead!

Family Heirlooms: Koç Greatscepter
House Members: Prince Perceval Baha Yaqub Alcibiades Koç, his wives Azra, Drousilla, and Derya, and his infant son, Coşkun Cemil Jaidev Varghese Koç.
History: The Koç have been the rulers of Terzi since the current iteration's inception in 1E218. They have ruled the island for generations, generally in favor of egalitarian policy and practice. They are a long line of powerful magi as well, and this is how the first Koç, Stefan the Eager, took power. Due to the island's location and environment, it has been beneficial throughout history to act as a middle-man for international diplomacy and trade, as a maritime hub. The Koç have recognized this early, and it has always been their interest to maintain international stability and, as such, international commerce.

Character App:

Name: Prince Perceval Baha Yaqub Alcibiades Koç
Appearance: A Terzite Prince. Terzites fit the "Eastern" archetype, racially, with dark skin and dry hair.Titles: Prince of Terzi
Personality: Flamboyant, insightful, regal, superior.
Strengths: Powerful pyromancer, from a long line of destruction mage-princes. Fabulously rich, from his kingdom's mercantile prowess.
Weaknesses: Incredibly vain. Remarkably prideful and self-conscious of his relatively small country.
Weapons: Koç Greatscepter- Ancient gilded staff that serves as an excellent conduit for the magic of those attuned to it. All men of the Koç lineage are powerfully attuned to it.
Matchlock Pistol- An ornate model, assumed to be dysfunctional, given to him for his 8th birthday by his father. Originally a souvenir from Dwarven traders. Unable to actively fire, due to a lack of dragon-powder.
Talwar- A Terzite curved sword, long and thin, meant for use with one hand. He is an acclaimed academy duelist who attended the Terzi Academy of Assassins, as with most Terzite nobles. However, he is not practically experienced with true melee, relying primarily upon his pyromancies in real fights.
Armor: Typically dons raimants such as those pictured above, but when forced to enter the field of battle himself he will wear this.
Equipment: None, besides that described above.
Property: The island-city-state of Terzi
Family: His wives and infant son.
There are at least 2,500 vessels, of various types and crews, operating in Terzite waters with an official Royal Writ to pillage and pirate unlicensed foreign vessels, with a massive tax levied in exchange for this privilege. These privateers, or "Corsairs", deal with unlicensed traffic and unlicensed piracy, more swiftly than any organized law enforcement or military ever could. Most legitimate foreign trading companies and governments have the forethought to get their vessels licensed if operating in Terzite waters, but those who fail to license themselves, or seek to illegally poach or traffick in Terzite waters are quickly punished by eager Corsairs. Additionally, in times of true war when pirates wont cut it, Terzi has been known to call upon their nearest beneficiary, Kozakura, to strike down any militant threat. They have been quick to do so, but only secondly for the great bounty of funds they will recieve: Kozakura has primarily aided Terzi due to the sizable number of it's own people on the island.
However, Terzi has historically preferred to settle scores with words, not war.
Terzi is the medium landmass that lies between Albion and Kozakura. It is covered in a dense rainforest. There is a single, sprawling city that is also called Terzi that lies across the entire island. It is the entire Principality of Terzi. It is not a dense city, but is still massive in square kilometers, with many patches of wilderness lying within the city limits. The rainforest is constantly being pushed back, with grand plantations being built to grow citrus, bananas, and coffee. Homes are constructed of jungle wood and adobe. The centre of the island is dominated by the Royal Palace, a massive monolithic construct said to have been carved from a single mountain. It is dotted with spires, minarets, and gilded domes. Surrounding the Royal Palace is the City Centre, with the royally-funded Terzi Assassins' Academy and the (also royally-funded) Terzi Magi's Academy. Both of these internationally known institutions are famous for their educative accolades, being foremost colleges for nobility of all nationalities to attend. Licensed Terzite assassins are sought after all over the world by those who require their skills, and Terzite magi and scholars are responsible for the city-state's arithmetic-driven economic machine. On the note of economics, the northern edge of the city meets with the coast, with the bay dominated by the Isle of Apostolos. The Isle is mostly uninhabited, due to being rather mountainous, thickly forested, and possessing an active volcano. The bay on the northern rim of the city is an inconceivably large shipping port and harbor, with vessels from all lands meeting there. The port itself boasts many diversions, such as brothels and clubs, for traveling sailors and tourists. This is all in the interest of generating more commerce.

The Terzites are people that live on the island of Terzi. The racial Terzites are dark skinned, with bushy, dry hair, and soft facial features. They range from average height to tall, with the standard being 180cm to 200cm. They are typically lean and muscled. However, they are exceptionally inclusive of other races, with Western, Southern, and various Elven and Dwarven diaspora all being treated as Terzites. Thus, it's difficult to truly define what a modern Terzite is. It is a common misconception, internationally, that women are forbidden from leaving houses, and performing other social activities. It is quite the contrary: this cultural assumption has evolved from an old- and mostly true- Terzite stereotype where women are constantly sending their husbands out to run errands, preferring to stay inside in the shade due to the climate of the tropical island. The traditional servile attitude of men in regards to women has created a phenomenon where the streets are almost exclusively filled with men, doing their duties, performing errands, and laboring for their occupations, women instead peering out of windows. All Terzites enjoy coffee, and Terzi is essentially the only large exporter of coffee.

Many activities considered "crime" by other nations are in-fact perfectly legal ventures in Terzi. A thriving community of mobsters, primarily consisting of ethnic Kozakurans, known as the Kozazi, operates in great strength on the island. They run extortion and drug trafficking rackets throughout Terzi, using the island to launder funds legally before transporting them elsewhere. However, they do pay taxes, and as such are allowed to continue their trade. Assassins are trained in Terzi at the Academy, and as such are loath to accept contracts in Terzi where they may harm a family member or friend. It is a very rare occurrence, with most contracts taking place in the mainland and, occasionally, Kozakura. Slavery and the slave trade is legal, as long as it only pertains to non-Terzites. Slavers are eager to accommodate this minor rule, as relatively few people in the world are Terzites, and many slaves eventually see Terzi in their lifetime. Mercenaries thrive in the market, enjoying relatively low taxation compared to other industries.

Terzites are jovial, friendly, and boisterous people. They would invite you into their home to share coffee, and commence small talk. They enjoy their national economic prosperity, and the high value of the Terzi currency, the Omri. However, they are known internationally for their weak sense of national identity, their lack of religious homogeneity, their unusual inclusion of non-human races, and their acceptance of assassins and and magic-users.

It's a suicide number if they are big vessels but if they are boats then it's ok.

All are accepted, however on your massive force of Privateers: You can have them, but you can only have a few Giant Galleys, and a few hundred of the middle-tier ships. The rest would be very small operations and would be easily wiped out by pretty much any naval ship from the Mainland.

Edited! Please let me know if you have any questions, or require further editing!

For Future reference:

On the topic of sea defence,
- Does Terzi have a navy? And is it capable of handling the Pirates?
- How many pirates, on average, might be on a corsair vessel? 5, 10, 15, 25, 50, 100, 150?
- Does Terzi have customs houses for checking imports?

On the topic of economics,
- Would Terzi import most of its food?
- What might you estimate Terzis population between? I ask this only because I wasn't sure if commerce (Ex. Coffee and trade), Education, and Pirating make up the bulk of the workforce or if other industries are more prominent.
- Is trade what makes the Terzi currency valuable? If so, what might happen to the Terzi currency in the event of an embargo, or war, or to the embargoers economy for that matter?

On the topic of Politics,
- Is corruption a big deal? If so is it well known, and does the Kazakura play a part in it.
- What constitutes a "Terzite"? Would they need to be born of Terzite parents or on Terzite land? Or both? And what if they were born of Terzites or on the island but were enslaved while they were off the island, would the slaver be in trouble or the enslaved? It seemed like an interesting question to ask since they have a weak sense of national identity and all.

On the topic of the family,
How powerful might that staff be, and is dragon powder equal to the irl blackpowder of smokeless powder?

I find these questions interesting, but if you don't want to answer any of them that's fine.

Seriously though, the only things I found radical were the pistol and the 2,500 ships. Beyond that it seemed hunky dory. Of course Albertae being the op would probably be the real judge on that.

I agree with this sentiment. I am going to try to get Alb to make an open ruling on Army Sizes. Especially since he is giving mixed signals on what my own army would be like.

200,000 men? You need 20,000 tons of food to satisfy 15,000 men, so having that amount of men means your realm is in the verge of bankrupt or you are like the Russian empire after the WWI

No, why would they? As he wrote, this is like 2.8% of his population, this is a reasonable number (high, but many of those soldiers push the slaves into working as hard as they can while themselves only eating the minimum necessary for good work efficiency). - It's just that his realm has 7 million people. France in 1800 had 31 million so he is like that France's Aquitaine or maybe Normandy + Bretagne.

So how many troops have the others? The high king will have then 1,000,000 men under their banner? If he has 200,000 men. When did we add another zero to our troops?

Here comes the number wank.

Understand that professional armies within Europe are relatively small, with most troops consisting of levies.

Food is an issue. Army mobility is an issue. I can raid 200,000 men all day and night with 5,000 cavalry because moving together takes a long long time to even get them organized.
Russia's an idiot. So is the US, and quite a few of the western sphere. Population education and literacy is your issue, not the politics of foreign nations.

Indeed. Plus, they (Castorhold) have the empires largest (if not one of the largest, and the largest bank and lending network/system) and most extensive financial business systems behind them to make sure funds are obtained and arriving at the appropriate destination in good time. That way projects can be completed, wages paid, and the territory can go into temporary debt that can go on for years like the British to sustain a punch from war, famine, public works projects, among other things. And a massivewest Fishing industry in the west, and Fertile Crescent in the North and East to help keep the population fed. Not all of its inhabited though, and empty space is a big problem for efficient productivity and supply chain management (perhaps), the paved roads and rivers wide enough for 3 galleons to move side by side without issue help with SCM and efficient troop transport though.

They're mostly tiny dingies and fishing boats. There's only a few larger boats, and those are all converted merchant vessels. The vast majority are the medieval equivalent of this!

On the topic of sea defence,
- Does Terzi have a navy? And is it capable of handling the Pirates? Terzi does not have a professional Navy, with the pirates kept in line through their constant infighting between each crew! If they were to bind together, they would most likely quickly take the city- however, that would disrupt all the trade and income!
- How many pirates, on average, might be on a corsair vessel? 5, 10, 15, 25, 50, 100, 150? 5-15 on the majority, with a very largest crewed by up to 40.
- Does Terzi have customs houses for checking imports? Yes, but its relatively easy to pay your way past the corrupt officials.

On the topic of economics,
- Would Terzi import most of its food? Yes! One cannot live on bananas, oranges, and fish! Foods, especially grain, are among the most imported items. Fine foods are smuggled frequently, to be enjoyed by corsair captains and mob bosses.
- What might you estimate Terzis population between? I ask this only because I wasn't sure if commerce (Ex. Coffee and trade), Education, and Pirating make up the bulk of the workforce or if other industries are more prominent. Only about one million, give or take a few thousand. This is not including slaves, of course.
- Is trade what makes the Terzi currency valuable? If so, what might happen to the Terzi currency in the event of an embargo, or war, or to the embargoers economy for that matter? Yes, trade is what makes it valuable! War would take a massive toll on the Omri, and as such it has been traditional for the Prince himself to seek to preserve the quality of life in Terzi by seeking to prevent war in all parts of the world. An embargo (from a rich trade partner) would do massive, irreparable damage, and may even cause civil upheaval. We don't like the word embargo, in Terzi.

On the topic of the family,
How powerful might that staff be, and is dragon powder equal to the irl blackpowder of smokeless powder? The staff itself isn't powerful as anything but a conduit and a long, heavy club. However, the Prince is rather skilled at fire magic. He attended the Academy, and was tutored by his father and grandfather. He's about on par with a military battlemage, nothing special.
On the topic of the pistol, probably black powder. Ask the Dwarves. The pistol in the Prince's possession is essentially sentimental trash, unworkable even with powder. If it was a working model, it'd still only be useful as a fancy toy, that goes boom.

Will be editing my app populace to somewhere around 26 million, reflecting traditional Asian numbers, especially those of Japan.

Also for Terzi, most of their food can come from Kozakura, due to the massive marsh farming to a sector of the land, we can farm excess rice as well as luxury goods. Since Terzi's the only reliable partner, a solid trade route to the north would serve Kozakura well, sending gifts of goodwill, food and mercenaries together with tradable goods.

Alright.
Additionally, the owners of the largest ships would probably be the wealthiest members of society and would probably also have a good chunk of the middle-tier vessals, as Galleys are not quite known for their speed.

Alright.
Additionally, the owners of the largest ships would probably be the wealthiest members of society and would probably also have a good chunk of the middle-tier vessals, as Galleys are not quite known for their speed.

Of course! Those are my "upper class" or "nobles", technically, though they still spend most of their time being pirates. They didn't get to be nobles by sitting around on their inheritance, like mainlanders!

...There's a warped, yet present, feeling of justice for lower classes and vindication in Terzi.

I can completely omit all mention of the pistol easily, with no impact on the rest of my app. Thanks for your input, and goodnight!

He could but they don't keep for very long. A week, ten days if you keep them in the fridge, which is never convenient.

Now now, Edwyn may have slepped with almost all of the Western half of the Kingdom- but he hasnt screwed his family yet!
(Probably because there are no living female members of his Dynasty...)

Not a legit reason not to sleep with them.

DUUUUM
Russia's an idiot. So is the US, and quite a few of the western sphere. Population education and literacy is your issue, not the politics of foreign nations.
