Thank you, based Neros. Gone are the days of me staring at several iterations of the map and going "if that's that, then the blue is those, maybe...".

Hey, I just wanted to thank Neros for making the map and spending his time to do while he has a busy life irl and a busy NS life, so thank you Neros. The map may not be finished yet, but it will be, because Neros has determination! :D

Assuming you actually provide the protection you allegedly offer, I think the group you are referring to is the 'Yakuza', not the Mafia.

Oh God, there's probably a massive pseudo-Yakuza presence in Terzi. Piracy and assassination are legal trades that are taxed- why not organized crime?

But yeah, if I understand correctly the Mafia just expected you to pay them, while the Yakuza will actively defend your operation from their rivals to protect their interests.

The mafia were really only protecting buisiness owners to keep their money flowing. They weren't actually protecting you rather protecting their money being stolen by another mafia or gang.

Here is a basic map. Names would be expanded in the future. While Kozakura dominates the sub-continent, they grant smaller clans to administer the further reaches of the land, especially those with little economic potential, instead counting on them to provide food and livestock.

The map: http://i.imgur.com/W4FFM9F.png

I slapped on the Gold Beards, compensating Castorhold and Athela for loss of territory, among other things. I'm not sure if Rob (Cinderlands) will still be around, so I'll figure out what to do with his lands. Maybe have them recently annexed by the Nordlands after a failed revolt, where Walt Bismarck earned his stripes as a great military commander.

What about me?
(I am the Green Island/Land to the Northwest of the Carlinnian mountains.)
Also, the areas you gave Question Marks are the Elves. I believe Purple are the Deep Elves (Mountain Elves and Dark Elves), I believe Yellow are the Sand Elves, and I believe the Green are the Highborn Git elves.

I'm a little confused, which island is yours?
Call me Russian or RPA.

Yes, my nation has a funny name. It was originally a puppet.

I'm Declaring this nation dead. From this moment on it will live on as The Frozen Forest. This is for the sake of convenience, as i want to restart with a new, proper name.

Your map has Rubella. ;)

New Neros: Made it with Photoshop. Actually this time I used textures from Incarnate for the non-mountains. As far as the green woods (I think that was the swamp-pattern) and the grasslands go, I like the result.

The political map is nice.

I misread Northwest as Northeast. On another note, it's good to see another Principality.

Eh, I use the Feudal meaning for Principality rather than the Merchant Republic meaning. By which I mean that its essentially a fancy word for a Duchy ruled by a Prince.

Anyhow, Kuhlfros has contacted me via TG, the Bastard Count of Athela will most likely be a good friend of the Drunkard Prince of Redwater, if for no other reason than the fact that we are neighbours and the Northern Paramount is scary.

Principality is a very vague and ill-defined word, and includes everything from city-states to Russia.

Feudalism is fun.

Also, Kozakura exports spices, silk, exotic goods and the occasional weapon. Terzi could be the gateway to the Human markets on the mainland, while smugglers could secretly arm the elves with some Elven designs if they want to have good relations with Kozakura.

The Elves aren't exactly under tight control and disarmed. They're, as I've said multiple times, similar to Italy in the HRE: granted high autonomy simply by virtue of being impossible to maintain a direct control over. The Elves are split into numerous city-states and tribes, the majority of which are fairly militaristic.

No doubt. Still looking up on the tradable exports of China, Korea and Japan and some of SouthEast Asia for exports. Might even include some tea and coffee.

The Elves export various spices, fruits, crafts, raw goods, a lot of slaves, and (rarely) their own silk.

Mostly, they export the kind of stuff you'd find in the Middle East and North Africa. They function as one of the largest producers of slaves, and their handcrafted Elven silk can catch a good price, although it rarely goes far beyond Elven borders.

How much would a slave cost I wonder? Given that Castorhold uses quite a few for manual labour purposes.
