Ok thanks. Edwyn could approach Kandor, because he's sitting on his throne waiting, but I don't know exactly what we'd do. Might as well wait for the other lords to join in. I've noticed Neros is very busy so we may have to RP his character to keep the RP from stagnating. I think this is the third day he hasn't said anything OOCly or ICly. Then there is all those other lords who I'm not sure about. Could you Forsworn or Nuri contact the people that are not being active, but are at the summit to let them know? They should be in the archive.
Slaves are illegal in Carlinnia. Did I not mention this? Indentured Slaves are a different matter however, at least it is in the eyes of the Humans.
She was brought along as part of the retinue from Arthan, posing as one of two slaves the prince of Arthan had brought along. Edwyn killed him in a duel and, according to agreement, the slaves were turned over to his custody, so I don't imagine there's a clear legal proceeding for this event since her status falls under Elven law, rather than human law, even though her new 'owner' is a human.
Of course, whether or not the slaves were freed upon entering the crownland or upon their owner's death is a question for another day.

Think of it as Federal and State law in the U.S. Federal law will always be the supreme power over state law and then county law. Of course, the elves are highly autonomous and don't follow the laws they don't like, but they will be enforced upon in the city and will not be allowed in with slaves.
Anyways that's it for me tonight. 11:41pm. I'll be on tomorrow some time.

House Name: House Ashen

House Holdings: High Lordship (Duchy) of Blacktyde (Crownlands)
Soldiers your House commands:
- 4,540 Total
- 1150 Pikemen

- 850 Mounted Knights
- 1,510 Infanty
- 30 Household Guardsmen
Family Heirlooms:
House Members: Lord (Duke technically) Alaro Ashen, Lady Nymeria Ashen, Lord Aelred Ashen
History:
The members of the House of Ashen can trace their lineage back to the mythical House Black, once Kings of the Blacktyde. House Black was renowned in it's time for it's extraordinary Kings who, if legends were to be believed, had the strength of a thousand men. House Ashen holds its origins to the bastard princess of Blacktyde, Aylild the Phoenix. The last King of Blacktyde, Quenton the Mad, was a cruel and insane ruler. Under his reign, the Kingdom of Blacktyde came under attack from all sides, losing hard fought land that the Blacks had fought for. With the King's death, a war a succession broke out in Blacktyde, leaving the realm even more fractured and disunited than under the reign. Aylild was seen as unlikely to claim the throne of Blacktyde. She had fifteen other legitimate and illegitimate brothers and sister all older than her ready to claim the throne. However in a surprise move, Aylild was able to defeat her enemies in one fell swoop in the Battle of the Crag, securing herself as Queen of Blacktyde and establishing the Ashen Dynasty.
Insanity and greatest were to sides of the same coin when it came to the Blacks, and same was true for the Ashens. When Aylild conquered her throne as Queen of Blacktyde she discovered the terrible truth to her family's power: The sword of Backfire, and the Armor of the Black. These artifact's origin remain untold to this day, but the effect was always the same. Whoever wields these heirlooms are destined to die a painful and unescapible death the more they use it. It has also been common for members of the family to simply go mad in the presence of these powerful artifacts. Though Aylild tried to rid her family of these items, she soon discovered that her family and the artifacts were connected in a way that could never separate them without the House dying a horrible death. She choose to keep these items, much to her despair, in the hopes in the future that the Ashens could rid themselves of the curse.
Years later in the Second Era, the House of the rising Phoenix has long lost their seats as Kings. They still rule the Blacktyde and Castle Black, however they now swear fealty to the Kings of Carlinnia. Lord Alaro Ashen, the 91st wielder of the sword Backfire and the armor of the Black remains steadfastly loyal to the crown, and will stop at nothing to defend the King of Carlinnia. No matter the cost to himself...
Character App:
Name: Lord Alaro "The Black" Ashen
Appearance:
Titles: Lord (Duke) of the Blacktyde, and Wielder of the Black
Personality:
Alaro Ashen holds family and loyalty above all else. Outside his family however he holds no space for kindness. When the King needs a job done Alaro ruthlessly carries it out no questions asked. He will stop at nothing to protect his family and the crown and will risk his life in the effort. Alarm is not an ambitious man and only seeks the security of the realm against all those who assault it.
Strengths: Alaro Ashen is arguably one of the greatest warriors of the land. He is a formidable fighter and is skilled in the blade. He has a strong body build and stands inches higher than most men. He is quick and a brilliant military commander due to his service in the Castorlands and the lands of the elves. With his weapon Blackfire, and his armor Alaro is an unstoppable force on the battlefield and the very mention of his name frightens most. <--(Exaggeration)
Weaknesses: While Alaro may be a powerful general and fighter, his most overwhelming weakness is his family. If anyone got a hold of this Lord of Blacktyde's family, he would give up in a heartbeat. He loves his family too much to lose them. The second less well known weakness is his equipment itself. While Blackfire and the Armor of the Black may be powerful items, the artifacts claw at his life with every moment he uses them. Though me may have resisted the insanity that sometimes comes with the items, the artifacts still slowly kill the man, leaving him more and more ghostly every passing year...
Weapons(Keep it to 3): Blackfire - The Greatsword of his ancestors. Made from a strange material lost to man, Blackfire is a weapon even the dwarves couldn't replicate. It has been in the hands of House Ashen for hundreds of years. It comes at a grave price however for its usage, and is likely to steal the minds of the men and women who wield it.
Armor: The Armor of the Black - Yet another artifact of the House Ashen, the armor of the Black, like Blackfire, is a extraordinary piece of armor. But also like its counterpart, it comes at a grave price....
Equipment: A Steel Shield bearing the Sigil of House Ashen
Property: Castle Black, City of Blacktyde

I'm not entirely sure what you mean, but I will need to answer when I get back from being out of town.
If it helps though.
Slaves are not illegal in Castorhold. Castorhold has an extensive list of the slaves in it just as a company would have a list of inventory. They (Castorhold) are very good at supply chain management, which is incredibly important given that there are 1.4 million slaves (20% of the populace) owned by private citizens to guilds to the government alike.
Though they might also have lists of citizens, immigrants and foreign merchants in order to correctly identify them should they make a deposit, or need to withdraw from the bank. That may be more the civil service and bank though than other groups.
If these don't make sense to have given the current technology levels I can change this. I would think Rome had done good lists but I can change it regardless.

Think of it like this, your land is colonial-esque right? That being said we are more lenient on your lands with laws. The Ik Ka Ek Akai wrote:My point still stands that Aethanas can sneak into the event, if not as a slave, then as a lover, attendant, adviser, etc.
Your going to have to be a lord, noble, representative of some civilization(you will be most likely cast out of the room for the noble summit to be spoken to once the gritty stuff is out of the way.) and/or a be invited in by one of the attendees. If your an attendee you will be watched under close eyes and cast out of the room if anything "top secret" is needed to be said.Rygondria wrote:working on post
