The White House

"Mr. President. Thank you for inviting us." The New Jersey Senator said as he shook the President's hand. "It will be an uphill battle to get ISIS bill through the Senate. Many Senators don't want their reelection campaign to be turned into a referendum about another war in the Middle East. It will take every trick in the book to get this passed. I think that if we promised to work on a G.I Bill for the troops going to fight ISIS, we might get enough votes to get the bill out of the Senate"

Tristani wrote:The Senator had found himself in several different administrations oval offices. The Presidents who occupied them could be a friend or an enemy, and it usually just depended on what letter was beside their name. This president happened to be his friend and ally, so the Senator found himself in comfortable scenery when he greeted the President.

"Let me guess, Mr. President." the seasoned politician said as he finished shaking his hand and sitting down once the President sat down."You need us to get you some votes." Tristan said as he gave the President a smile. Very rare the Commander and Chief invited legislators to the oval if not for votes. "For the one about those ISIL, or ISIS, or IS fellas?" the southern senator asked; the bill had been stuck in the Senate for a while now. "Whats the issue with it, Mr.President? "

"Well, it seems you found me out. Yes, the bill has been stuck and it is failing to do something besides rotting in debate in the Senate. Now you two, hardened Democrats, are exactly who I need to fight for this bill tooth and nail."

He listened as Clark made his case.

"I concur but the G.I. Bill would cause delay. I understand the gist but if we don't figure it out before the hurricane hits, the opposition won't care. I will get the FEMA bill passed even if I have to kill the ISIS bill but that is the last thing I want to. We need something quick."

The Senator listened to both of his comrade's points. The Senator nodded with in agreement with the President.

"What I think needs to occur, is for all of us to use our bully pulpit to tell the American people just who is willing to withhold much needed FEMA aid, and why they are not trying to destroy the people trying to destroy our nations. I'm talking about giving them the names of the Senators who aren't willing to support Americans domestically and internationally. We can't keep pussyfootin' around, Mr.President." the Senator leaned forward."We go on CNN, Fox, MSNBC, everywhere. And we tell the American people that the Republicans do not want to help them. They do not want to defend this country. And they do not care if thousands die because of that God forsaken hurricane." Tristan said as he leaned back."We tell them the truth."

Clark nodded his head as the President made his case.

"Randy Jones, my political mentor said, "To control a caucus, you have to use carrots or sticks." If we can't use our carrot of the G.I bill, we need to use sticks.I think we might be able to whip enough votes to get the FEMA bill to your desk. We might need some help though. I will talk to the head of Appropriations to see if he can provide the sticks by threatening to remove earmarks if they vote against the FEMA bill. We can push the ISIS bill at a later date.

Lemon: Hello and welcome back to CNN Tonight, my name is Don Lemon and I am your host for tonight. We will be continuing to provide updated information on Hurricane Bonnie as we brace for landfall, but first we'd like to take a break for a brief moment to talk to none other than Senator Gianna Carrollton, which many of you know is currently running for the Democratic nomination. She is joining us via satellite as she is currently in Charleston, South Carolina. Glad that you can join us, Senator!
Carrollton: Hi, thank you for having me Don.
Lemon: So, earlier today on ABC with George Stephanopoulos, the newest candidate to join the presidential race on your side of the aisle gave you a rather glowing "endorsement" if you will. I have to say, it's quite odd to see one candidate give another such a glowing affirmation in the middle of a primary such as that. You've been busy all day holding town-hall meetings, and you were asked about this "endorsement" a couple of times. Let's show our audience what we mean.

**First Clip**
Attendee: Senator, are you going to heed Governor Murray's advice and start aiming for a Vice-Presidential role?
Carrollton: If I were to suddenly drop out of the race and endorse a new-comer into the arena, despite having more delegates than he and already with strong momentum and establishment support, I think that would certainly raise some alarms. Look, we share the utmost respect for each other, despite the few areas of disagreement we have, and it showed in his comment on the race. So, while I definitely do believe he would make a fine successor to President Winston, I cannot accept the idea that I am running for a sort of "second place." That would be unfair to my supporters, particularly those who have already voted for me. Now, I will say, Governor Murray would be one of my top considerations of somebody to endorse should I ever drop out, but for now... hey, you're equally welcome to join Camp Carrollton, Governor.
*crowd chuckles*

**Second Clip**
Attendee: Senator, what exactly has your relationship been with Governor Murray? Have the two of you met before?
Carrollton: Well, he's from neighboring Indiana and I am from Ohio. In 2012, we both won highly unexpected races against tenured, experienced Republicans in the Rust Belt region. I don't personally remember meeting Murray during that time, but my aides have told me we did meet once before for a brief moment during a regional Democratic meeting. As far as my relationship with him now is concerned, we're familiar with each other. Obviously, he has a bit of a different job than I, but we do know each other and I'll sometimes get to see him when I'm back home in Ohio. I think we actually ran into each other during a Colts-Bengals game last year, but after a pitiful game like that... I'd rather not talk too much about it. *crowd laughs*

Lemon: So, I think it's safe to say that the two of you have a clear affinity for each other, but at the same time are not quite willing to endorse the other for President. What is your take on Governor Murray?
Carrollton: Well, I think he's doing a phenomenal job as Governor of Indiana. I give him all the credit in the world for standing up to protect the public school and the redevelopment of abandoned buildings into low-income housing. This is exactly the king of progressive leadership we need in this country, and if I am not the pick for the Democratic nominee, I will most certainly consider endorsing Murray. I am not shy to say that, but for now we're focused on a winning campaign and would really want to find out if that respect and admiration is mutual... if you know what I mean.
Lemon: Ha, well that's fair enough. So, keeping on the subject of winning, you've managed to pull out a rather big win in Nevada after logging only 16% in New Hampshire. This much wasn't surprising, but Kuznetsov, on the other hand, came at a surprisingly close second after a major victory in New Hampshire. Are there any worries in the Carrollton camp that Kuznetsov might catch up to you, especially now that Kailen Murray will essentially be drawing from the same voting base?
Carrollton: Let me say this. I will respect the decision of any single candidate who wishes to jump into the race. I am not in any position to dictate who may enter into the race or who may not, and I sincerely hope that our party puts up the very best nominee to eventually succeed President Winston in the Oval Office. I have nothing but respect for both Irina Kuznetsov and Kailen Murray, and I have to commend all of my fellow Democratic candidates for not turning this race into the bashing contest that we have seen on the other side. We are a very respectful group, we refrain from bickering and name-calling, and we focus on what Americans care about most. I believe that we are the party of the future, and I am excited to see such a widely diverse group of candidates represented.
Lemon: I know that you are not particularly pleased over the fact that the Democrats have yet to have a Presidential debate. In fact, you've called on your other opponents to agree on a day and location in order to make a debate feasible. How has that been coming along?
Carrollton: Every single debate we have is an opportunity to expose the American people to our mission, which is to progress our country into the 21st century. The Republicans have already had a debate, and I was not a fan of it as you can imagine. Now, it is time for us to have one as well. I hope that the addition of Governor Murray will spur some activity on that front, because hey... he's an exciting entrance to the race! Kirk is a natural entertainer! Danders, Kuznetsov, and Santana are all also quite fantastic debaters. If nothing else, comon' people! Recognize the opportunity for amazing television!
Lemon: I can practically already see the SNL skits that'll arise from that debate. Whew! Ha... anyway, there are numerous candidates who are suspending their campaign activities, which yours will join them after tomorrow's rally. You are in South Carolina, a state that is on the Atlantic seaboard but not quite facing the fury of Bonnie as much as some others up in New England, and they are the very next state to vote for the Democrats. How excited are you, with the possibility of securing your second victory in a row? After all, this is a kind of state that has favored many 'moderate' candidates before in its' primary history.
Carrollton: I am very excited. I honestly expect Murray to poll quite well, being that they have a large African American population and he appeals quite well to them, but our campaign is aiming to either outright win South Carolina or to come at a very close second. This race is all about the delegates, establishing momentum, and putting together a winning coalition for November's election. I am proud to say that we already have a wide range of support, broad appeal across the aisle, and an already strong showing in a state such as South Carolina. I am excited and I will support the decision South Carolina makes, whether it's for me or for someone else.
Lemon: Alright, ladies and gentlemen, Senator Gianna Carrollton of Ohio, and presidential candidate for the Democratic Party. Thank you for joining us, and we sincerely hope that you and your campaign stay safe.
Carrollton: Thank you very much, Don. And please, everyone, please stay safe in the upcoming weather.
*Cuts back to Don*

"Hey, hey, hey guys!" Kuznetsov waved to the crowd. "Now, I know that we have a lot of hurt coming at us, but that's no reason to feel down. Stay lively, my friends. If we succumb to fear and chaos, then the hurricane wins. Stay strong!"

"Now it may seem a little bit silly to talk about prevention and preparing for the next time something like this happens or is about to happen right now before the first thing has happend, but an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, as my mama used to say, and right now we need a lot of pounds of cure because we have not had enough ounces of prevention. We need better infrastructure all around, all around the country. I mean, come on. Building roads is what the government does, right? We all use them. We need to make them a lot better. Emergency infrastructure, though, we need more of it. My government would give grants to the states to help create emergency action plans, and purchase what they need to prepare for storms, and we even would offer stipends to people in high-risk areas for emergency supplies and the like. We need to make sure we are always ready and put government relief groups on a better footing so they can mobilize a lot faster and get there and help right away. We are all worrying right now because we are not ready, and we are not ready because not enough money and resources were put into helping states with emergencies and making task groups to respond once an emergency happens. In my presidency that is not going to happen, no Sir, it will not."

"You guys may have noticed something a little strange over the last day or two, and that is that a lot of Democrats are going down to South Carolina to help out for hurricane efforts, and that makes you scratch your head a little. Why go to South Carolina? Isn't the hurricane hitting farther north? South Carolina might not even be hit. You may be wondering why everyone is going there, and the answer is easy-because South Carolina votes next! I mean, come on guys! We have people in trouble and all you want to do is get those caucus votes? You think that you can fool the people by making some little video talking about how it is about helping people and not politics? If you wanted to help people, then come here! Come to Philadelphia, or Baltimore, or where the hurricane is really going to hit! This is about helping people, not winning votes! For shame!

Now we are going to do something a little strange, it will be like you are back in church again. I know you guys did not want to come here to get fleeced, but we are going to pass around some of my old offering plates, and collect some money, and every penny of that money is going to go to helping out with the hurricane efforts, especially in the black communities that you just know that are going to be of "secondary priority" to these institutions. Lets chip in a little bit to help those that need it.

Now I am going to get going-because it is time for me to kick things into high gear! I am going to be going up and down this coast, getting donations and rallying the people to take this big old wall of wind head-on! The People are going to rise and help each other and win this fight. Don't let the fear get to you! We are going to do this, and then we are going to make it so that we never have to worry again. Come on, guys, its time to go show this hurricane who is boss!

Come, thunder. Come rain, and lightning. Throw your fury at me, for you are my fucking soul. Garestaer smiled at the dark clouds as he began his next rally.

However, there were issues.

A group of Black Lives Matter thugs began attacking some of his supporters. The crowd descended on them, and Garestaer watched, until his security detail managed to throw the thugs out with some decent force.

Garestaer grinned. "When I'm president, terrorist groups like Black Lives Matter will go through the same persecution as I will put ISIS through. They're no different. Our police are the backbone of society. They protect you, they protect your children. They put themselves at risk every day to protect you, and thugs treat them like garbage. We cannot allow our police to harassed and killed by these terrorists. Political correctness and 'tolerance' is going to die, too. We should not be forced to listen to the demands of a bloodthirsty group. Go ahead. If they threaten you, rip 'em a new one. I'll be down there to help you in a minute."

"I know you're all wondering why I gathered you here if I suspended my campaign, but this meeting isn't about me its about the millions of people who the government has left unprepared for the storm that is coming. While the politicians in Washington bargain people lives and safety for a war, citizens are lacking guidance and resources to adequately prepare for Hurricane Bonnie. That is why I will be personally donating $1 million (total, not each) to the states on the east coast, and over the course of the next 24 hours I'll be traveling to several states to raise more money. Columbia this starts with you, right now buckets are being passed around and I ask that you spare whatever you can to help your neighbors to the north. It can be $1. $1,000, or 1 cent, anything will help. America was built on unity and now we must uphold that ideal."

The Senator from North Carolina sent message to his aids to start filling the media's ears of the names and reasons why people aren't supporting national defense and domestic protection from the hurricane. The Senator could not sit back and allow some in his own party, along with a large number of Republicans deter these bills from being passed. The political office of the Senator would leak these names, and allow the American people to judge these 'legislators' themselves. The letter to the media will include a plea for the American people to call their Senator, and plead with him for passing the bills. Senator Strong would also respond strongly to Garestar, once he left the White House. CNN was there waiting outside to catch him for a response.

"Senator Tristan Strong from North Carolina. Any clue to why you were in the White House?"

"Oh, well the President, Senator Clark, and I were just discussing the pure travesty that there are Senators who are willing to put the domestic safety of our nation behind their own pride. My office will be providing the American people a list of those Senators who think they are too high and mighty to simply pass the bill for the funding of FEMA. We plead with the American people to call, write, and antagonize your Senators until they decide to do whats right. They also do not want to protect this country from terrorism, and I frankly am flabbergasted by it all."

"Senator Strong, have you seen the alleged BLM attack at a Garetaer rally?"

"Ah, I don't trust that Garestaer as far as I can throw him. How dare he compare a BLM movement to that of a terrorist organization that he will not even vote to eradicate? He is totally unfit for the presidency of these United States. Those are American citizens, and I wouldn't be surprised if those men were hired by Garestaer, just so he can spread this hate. He wants to dismantle the entire constitution because he is afraid of some protesters. Get a life, buddy."

"Have you decided who you are going to endorse yet, for the Democratic Primary?"

"Well, I have not. My office and the campaigns are communicating, but I haven't really made up my mind yet. I think that the comedian, Mr.Kirk, has ran a wonderful campaign, and I do believe that we have the better selection of candidates.Mr. Kuznetsov is very qualified, much like the rest of the group. So, we will see, but an endorsement is coming. Anyway, I have to get out of here. Meetings, stuff, and I have to get some lunch." the Senator said as he moved past the reporter.

"Hired?"

Garestaer watched as this "Strong" espoused his nonsense. Obviously, this person hasn't seen me in real life. I don't have the kind of money to hire people. That's just corrupt. Maybe I need to get thinner.

With that thought, Garestaer emptied his fridge and pantry, and shipped all of the contents to a veterans' association.

He really didn't care about the weather anymore. All he did to prepare was buy three packages of water bottles and several packs of batteries for a flashlight. He didn't plan on leaving or suspending anything. He didn't have to worry about anyone.

I'd rather die by my own hand than die at the hands of Leftist bigotry. I prayed to God today, so I'll be fine. He'll punish the Democrats in His own way, sooner or later.

"I'd like to first start off thanking God for this opportunity, I never thought that I'd ever be running for President but I know God has a plan, win or lose. I want to thank Dr. Watson for allowing me to host this meeting here at Saint Paul's, and thank all of you for coming out tonight. We are here not for political gain but because as Christians we have a responsibility to help our fellow man. There is a very dangerous storm coming, and the government has left many unprepared and vulnerable while they play politics. If we are really the children of god we claim to be then we must do all we can to make sure that as many people as possible have the aid and care needed after this storm. Richmond is one of the greatest cities in the world but unfortunately not every other city is as well off, and they are going to need our help. I ask that you look in your hearts today and give whatever it is God is calling you to give. "

This broadcast is brought to you by CNN, the World's News Leader.

How are we doing this morning, Birmingham?!, the crowd applauded Gonzalez's entrance, giving him a warm southern welcome.Woow! Look at all these people, we're gonna have some fun. Now many of you have seen on television this massive Hurricane Bonnie coming towards the eastern seaboard and many of the Democrats in the Senate are pushing for all funding, including replenishing funds for FEMA, to be used against ISIS., the crowd immensely boo'd, I know its disgusting, they not only want to formally declare war on ISIS, which I vehemently oppose, but the Democrats don't wanna prepare their own people for the act of God that is about to happen., more boo's continue, It's atrocious, a hurricane barrelling towards the eastern seaboard and the Democrats are stubborn to lift a finger and replenish the FEMA funds. But the Yellowhammer state has problems of its own, many of which other states share as well. The Affordable Care Act is driving up the cost of insurance, the left continues to wage war on our Constitution and is joined by one of our own, Senator Egazarian, , the crowd immediately boo'd, I know, we have a national security risk on our unsecured southern border, and President Winston is prepared to allow more Syrian refugees in. All this backtracking needs to end, the spineless leadership in the White House needs to be replaced by a strongman, someone who is going to fight for Americans. These trade deals, the cost of living, jobs, all of these are being affected by an administration who quite frankly doesn't give a damn about Americans. It's time we figure out what the hell is going on, take back our country, and finally put America First! , the crowd erupted into a major applause and cheer, waving their new America First signs.

The whole healthcare mess is a disaster, the Affordable Care Act makes healthcare everything but affordable. I'm a firm believer that if you like your doctor you should be able to keep him, but the ACA not only strips Americans of their family doctor but it makes premiums and deductibles significantly higher. America is not a welfare state and it won't turn into one under my watch. The crowd cheered fiercely, waving their America First signs, We have the spirit of industry, of hard work, for centuries Americans have got up, gone to work, and earned their living. Many in the crowd nodded their heads in agreement. When I'm President I'll remove the lines around the states and encourage competition across the US. The problem with socialized medicine and single payer healthcare is that it'll create an overdrawn and congested system, where people will schedule an appointment and not been seen 'till months later. I'm for private plans, plans that are affordable and cater to your individual needs. The ACA is making medicine more expensive for our elderly and not feasible for our young. We will repeal the Affordable Care Act so that we can make healthcare affordable once more!, the crowd erupted into a cheer, applauding the sentiments. Because lets face it healthcare has gotten much more expensive under the ACA, Americans have to pay into it with their tax dollars without seeing a cent of coverage. People who suck on the government teat are getting more and more comfortable living under dependency rather than making a living the proper way. And I see a dangerous trend happening right now folks., the crowd murmured in agreement.

Right now we are cultivating an age of entitlement without properly working for it., a moderate applause rang out from the crowd. And its sickening, because what follows immediately after is a welfare state. Teaching our kids that the only entitlements they are entitled to are there Constitutional rights!, the crowd cheered. The left is waging a war on our amendment rights, especially when it comes to arming ourselves. The 2nd amendment is in place specifically to fight that kind of tyranny, and its time we protect our 2nd amendment the way it has been protecting us. The crowd applauded, waving their America First signs. We are born with these God-given rights, especially the 2nd amendment. Our forefathers placed the 2nd amendment to fight big government, and our Federal government is starting to overstep its boundaries especially in the Judiciary, which is acting increasingly like a legislative body. They violated the 10th amendment when they ruled that gay marriage is legal all across the 50 states when it was a reserved power for the states!, boo's rang out from the crowd. It's disgusting how our constitution is being so blatantly ignored, this election is very critical because more than 4 judges seats are going up in the air. If we elect Carrollton or any other Democrat, then we'll get more liberal judges and we'll soon end up with 2 Congresses. The crowd laughed.I'm a fervent believer in our Constitution, it protects all Americans and guarantees all Americans the same rights. The Democrats, Senator Egazarian, all wish to ignore and overstep their boundaries, ignoring it. Politicians like them have no faith in it, when I'm President I will defend the only entitlements Americans are entitled to: their Constitution God-given rights! , the crowd erupted into a major cheer, chanting "GoGonzoGo" and "America First". Gonzalez smiled his schoolboy smile.

Ever since I landed at the airport I noticed another major problem plaguing the country, the TARMAC was all bumpy, crumbling. Our roads are resembling that of 3rd world countries, I've been to a few major intersections where the lights weren't working at all, bridges are collapsing, our ports are not up to date. Infrastructure in the nation is deteriorating faster than your grandmother. , the crowd chuckled. If taxpayer dollars should go to anything, it should be defense number one, and improving our roads., the crowd gave a moderate applause, a few waved their America First signs. The crumbling infrastructure in this country is horrid, so many potholes in the road, 70,80,90 year old bridges are finally giving way. This is a problem we need to address and this is a Federal as well as a State problem. Now I'm willing to show a little Federal cooperation with the states because I know this is a general area both Federal and State governments can agree on and not butt-heads, fixing the roads, improving our rail systems, revitalizing our bridges all of this good stuff will improve our economy greatly. For every dollar invested in our infrastructure the return investment is a $1.49. Now that is a ratio I like, how 'bout you?, again the crowd responded favorable, giving a moderate applause.Public transportation is a must, especially in a nation of 320 plus million people. So we'll make it a priority folks, it'll help the economy and it'll certainly help in making America First, the crowd applauded, interrupting Gonzalez,am I right?, the applause continued.

We are facing tremendous, numerous problems, but the problem that is ever increasing is the problem of ISIS and its terrorist accomplices. Now President Winston is prepared to allow in more Syrian refugees.., the crowd boo'd in the middle of Gonzalez's statement,I know its horrible. They are coming from a volatile area, most of them are young men, strong looking men, I can't believe it. If anyone is to be radicalized while on US territory its these Syrian refugees because according to a recent pew poll 71% of all of the Middle East view the United States unfavorably, they believe we are their biggest threat and primary enemy, and that has to be attributed to the Muslim ideology, a very hazardous ideology. As President, I will halt all refugee's coming in from these areas until we can get a firmer grasp on the situation and extensively vet and scrutinize the past of all these individuals seeking asylum here in the United States., the crowd gave a mild cheer and applause, waving their America First signs. This is a must if we are to put Americans security First. Now when it comes to ISIS, they can easily pose as a citizen and come into the next batch of Syrian refugees. Look at it this way, we can accept a thousand refugees, all 999 of them can be the greatest most American loving Syrians God has ever created, but it just takes one to be a bad egg and ruin the whole batch. Now I'm all for America First and I promise you I will not take that chance folks, the crowd cheered, continuing their applause and cheers while Gonzalez spoke,ISIS will be bombed back to the stone ages and we will put Americans safety First!,the crowd gave a wild cheer.

My opponent is such a hypocrite, isn't he folks?, the crowd shouted in agreement, booing.I watched his rally in Oklahoma City where he practically said he'll twist and strong arm states into lowering their taxes or lose Federal funding, he not only disregards the first amendment as we seen with someone who was exercising their Freedom of Speech, but he also has no respect for the 10th amendment as well. Now may I remind you this a man who associated with Kisergate and practically accepted the idea of secession of the states and dissolving American integrity, the crowd immensely boo'd,no respect nor faith in the Constitution. He doesn't have the best of interests in America if he wants to shutdown our Constitution. He keeps reminding me of Kim Jong Un. , the crowd chuckled,He isn't fit to lead, he doesn't have Americans interests in mind when he says comments like this. No respect for our forefathers nor the rights of Americans, not fit to lead. Now CNN recently released article citing my vulgarity, folks I can't contain my passion for you or America. The crowd immediately cheered.Maybe they should stop televising my rallies, they won't cause they know they'll lose ratings, the crowd chuckled,Anyways, Egazarian is a hypocrite, can't get his stances straight, went from a moderate coming out of Rhode Island to an all-of-a-sudden far right conservative, who champions conservatism and all its causes. I promise you folks the same man you see before you is the same man who ran for the 21st district in California. The crowd cheered, waving their America First signs.

Come March 1st I think we all know who Alabama will vote for. The crowd and Gonzalez chuckled. But more importantly get out and vote, before the Left or Egazarian takes that right away. The crowd continued to laugh, Gonzalez smirked. But jokes aside, its important to do your civic duty and get out and vote, vote your conscious, and vote your heart, but more importantly vote. Our movement is only growing and getting larger, we will win the primaries and come November we will win the White House, we will end the backtracking, and finally put American and Americans First! God bless you all and God bless America!, the crowd erupted into a massive cheer and applause. Gonzalez spent the morning talking to his supporters at the rally, giving out email to many to address their concerns, taking selfies, even posting on his own snapchat using various filters with people. He started getting into the Vine business as well, making funny little political shorts and of him spending time with his family when he can. He prepared for his interview with NBC later that night.

Hey Garestaer, it's Matt. Calling to see how you're holding up. You good for the storm?

"Yeah . . . I'm good," Garestaer said. "I have enough water to last me a while. Don't worry. I'll be fine." His voice certainly didn't sound fine, and he was trying to not let Egazarian hear that.

Well, uh, ok. Gotta continue preparing, checking up on our neighbors. If you need anything, call me. I'll call you tomorrow if the power is still on. Bye.

After Egazarian hung up, Garestaer put his phone down, and then put his head in his hands. "At least someone's worried about me!" he sobbed.

He waited, patiently, to hear the rain, hoping it would drown out his thoughts.

Off the East Coast
(Average 30 miles away)

The wind was picking up. The water was seemingly coming in all directions as the rain began fiercely. Even on the coast, rain had begun since the last day and it showed no sign of stopping. Evacuations were already been called in port cities but the storm only mounted its strength. It would reach the North first making landfall in New England.

The scene was not as energetic or exciting as Gianna Carrollton rallies typically are, given the ominous mood from the lingering Hurricane that is threatening the New England area altogether. The people attending the rally are not expected to be in any danger due to the Hurricane, but the tenacity of the lingering storm has put a dampening effect on nearly every single campaign event for every single candidate across the country -- regardless of their political affiliation it seems, and this campaign was no different. The Carrollton campaign had thrown around the idea of cancelling all events and rallies, and had decided to do so in states that are directly affected by the storm itself to ensure the safety of the attendees, but this one event in South Carolina was going to be a bit different. The mainstream candidate, the one all the pundits are starting to get excited about as being a formidable front-runner in-the-making for the Democratic nomination, was being called out by Kuznetsov for not cancelling the rally, while Murray posted a challenge that was going viral. The Carrollton campaign knew that it was too late to cancel the planned rally, and it could even be seen as political expedient (or at least reactionary) to cancel it as well. Carrollton was not about to be outdone, in grandiosity or generosity. Word started spreading about the storm making its' way toward the Boston region, so all the Carrollton signs and banners set up were taken down and replaced. The official campaign slogan of "Hope for All" was replaced with "Hope for New England" temporarily, which would only set the tone for the rest of the evening. Instead of a loud, jumping, exciting band as per usual to pump up the crowd, Gianna took the stage alongside various clergymen and charity administrators. There was no 'bounciness,' or anything relatively exciting that many supporters would have anticipated as the rally had started. Standing to Gianna's immediate left was a Catholic priest, who started off with a lengthy prayer for protection and pleading for the intercession of Mary and other saints in prayer for the communities being affected by the storm. This was followed by a non-denominational pastor's prayer, standing next to the priest, which was followed by a Jewish Rabbi's prayer, and ending with a Muslim Imam's prayer. The message being sent was clear to those in attendance: we are all with you, New England, in prayer, through your storm.

Carrollton then took the opportunity, immediately after the long inter-faith prayer, to speak on the subject of "being together through storms." She stood at the podium, crowd being far more quiet than what she is used to, giving things an eerie feel to it. Carrollton clears her throats, rubs her forehead, and looks at the large gathered crowd. "We originally had an exciting lineup planned for you guys, but I'm pitching the script I had written up for you guys and I want to speak from the heart. There are those out there who have called for this to be cancelled, and have said that we are just exploiting this opportunity for political expediency." Carrollton smiles and slowly shakes her head. "My friend from New Hampshire is wrong, and my friend from Indiana, Governor Murray, wants me to match his donation of one million dollars." Carrollton pauses, smiles again, and continues on. "Donation matched, but I'm going even further. I'm extending this challenge to every single candidate, Republican and Democrat alike, to donate $1 million outright." The crowd immediately bursts into an applause of approval at the idea, but Carrollton wasn't done yet. "I challenge all PACs from across party lines to donate $1 million outright ahead of time to help rebuild the region." They can afford to spend millions on attack ads, but I think we should challenge these PACs to donate at least $1 million to a noble effort such as this. Don't you all think so?! The quieted crowd bursts into an even louder applause by the suggestion, some even electrified at the idea. Yet, still, the emboldened Carrollton was not finished yet. "A few years ago, we saw the rise of this thing called the 'Ice Bucket Challenge' to help raise money for a cure for ALS. The result was simply beyond incredible as to the amount of money raised. Well, I hereby challenge each of my Democratic opponents to an 'Ice Bucket Challenge' to raise money for the victims of Hurricane Bonnie." Carrollton has the crowd on its' feet, per usual, but the reason why was sure to grab news headlines. She smiles as the crowd stands on its' feet. "I'll start it off, right here and right now. My Democratic challengers have five days to respond, and to donate $1 million dollars. Dick Kirk, I expect yours to be live on your show!" She says with a laugh, smiling, as the crowd bursts into a loud applause. "I'm STILL not done though, because I challenge each and every American citizen to give whatever they can, whether its' supplies, money, or volunteering of their time, to help rebuild lives and communities affected by Hurricane Bonnie. Governor Murray was quick to use '#DemsUnited,' I want to use '#AmericansUnited.' In fact!" She pauses as the crowd reacts incredibly positively, hooting and hollering at this point, before continuing on. "In fact, I challenge each and every single one of you attending this rally to an Ice Bucket Challenge of your own, benefiting the victims of Hurricane Bonnie, donating at least $5 of your own money. Of course, you too all have five days to respond, and I challenge you to challenge five others as well when you go back home. Let's send a message of unity by acting together as a community!" The crowd by now is on their feet, looking like its' another typical Carrollton rally. She turns and smiles at the others on stage, the various religious and administrators around her. "You guys better not chicken out on the ice dumping either." She says, to the chuckling on the crowd. Despite the appearance that this was planned, this was an entirely a spontaneous idea that spurred to Gianna's head as she was heading up to the stage with inter-faith leaders, leading to various staffers rushing to find some sort of cooler to fill with ice water in order to publicly dump on the senator, not to mention securing a second outfit for her after the fact. By this point, her campaign spokesperson was seen by many within the crowd dragging a massive cooler toward the senator to the applause of the crowd. Gianna just stood there, taking her mic off and handing it to the priest who could not help but laugh at her facial expression. Before she realized it, she felt a temporarily numbing sensation as the extremely cold water rushes down her back from the hoisted cooler, and the crowd cheers loudly at the shocked facial expression of the Ohio senator before everyone, including herself, break into a collective laugh. She turns around, wide-eyed, and looking straight at the spokesman, saying "I'm definitely going to be the one who gets you." The spokesman then takes the mic from the priest, and proceeds to explain why the others on the stage are there. Originally, they were to explain how the people of South Carolina were to help out the people of New England (per suggestion of Gianna's campaign advisor); yet, Gianna Carrollton had just forced that conversation into a rather... unanticipated direction. The rest of the rally seemed to feel like more of a PSA address after that, as Carrollton would leave the stage to change her dry clothing, leaving behind her invited guests to explain how the attendees can help the victims of Hurricane Bonnie.
