Verizon Center, Washington D.C.

The President-Elect smirked. "And here I was looking forward to dunking on a Hall of Famer."

Cal settled his tall frame into the seat, Aubrey taking a seat with somewhat less fuss, and just glanced over as the concessions boy took their order, them changed his vocation to "fanboy."

He chuckled as the wide-eyed youth scampered off. "Well, you're in your element. You've already got your championships and honors here. I've still got to see if I'll have Rookie's luck, or go bust."

"Let's keep quiet when he comes back. If there's still someone out there who doesn't know my face, I'm happy to keep it that way."

We have sorta a temporary committee that has been talking about the party's rebuilding, so I want to get you involved in that. I do have one question: I know you said that this event wasn't necessarily an "official" Libertarian Party convention, but I do have the resources in place that an official meeting could be held at your event so we can choose new party leadership and possibly pass a few resolutions to avoid repeating our mistakes. Could we do that?"

*he thought for a moment*

I dont see why not? Though, if I may, I would like to recreate the party based around the ideals of the members. Let them have a say, whether direct or indirectly. Being the party of the people would be crucial to reorganizing the Libertarian Party and, not to mention, gained the trust of the people for our new leadership.

"Well, you see, that's why I wanted to do it at the event. I figured this would be the be the biggest gathering of LP members we can find right now. We're kinda in a hard spot, because we need leadership to plan a conference, but we need a conference to pick leadership. So I think we should pick leadership, issue lifetime bans to a few of the people who were at the center of the corruption, and then we can sort out some of the details like bylaws or a new platform next year when we do a convention or something."

"This will be fun," said Roberts, "maybe this kid is the one person in America who hasn't seen a TV in a year. He must not be a big baseball fan either."

"So, I suppose before it gets too loud in here I oughta be direct with you. I'm running for Senator in Connecticut, and I think we have a lot of similar values and reasons for running, so I figured I'd discuss that with you. Obviously, I would love to be endorsed by you. But you don't even know me yet, so I don't expect anything like that from you. But I would like to hear your opinions on my platform and my reasons for running. Basically, a couple months after my retirement I started to kinda have a bleak outlook on things. Basketball, God and my family were my life, and now one of those was gone. I turned to a lot of prayer. I also spent a lot of time at home watching the news, and I began to saw just how rough things were getting for our country. At the time, Josiah, my youngest, was only 5 years old. I kept thinking about how I didn't want him to grow up with the burden of our nation's debt. I hate how we just keep passing that along to the next generation with it always piling up. At the same time, I was scared for myself, to be raising kids in a country where Godly values were losing their priority. So I had these feelings for years, but I didn't know what to do with them until I saw you get elected on a platform that emphasized these values and concerns. And that really inspired me to run for Senate. So to make a long story short, that's why I'm doing what I'm doing and that's why I'm here now."

"Exactly. On a smaller scale, the "government" of the Libertarian Party collapsed, so we need something temporary to fill in for it. Informally, Blythe and I have already taken up that task. But I would prefer that we do all of it in a more formal fashion to prevent another meltdown. So we instate a new chairman to oversee the rebuilding process and to put temporary fixes to the immediate problems until we can have a true convention and make more permanent changes."

Eleanor McCroskey
@ANewFlame
And the Republicans target an effort to save jobs as "protecting ALL of Winston's unconstitutional executive orders!" Absolute and total partisan lies.

Eleanor McCroskey
@ANewFlame
The bill saves jobs because Winston FAILED to save those jobs! It actually nullifies That executive order!

Eleanor McCroskey
@ANewFlame
I find it outrageous that an actual effort to fix his mistakes is turned into supporting him! Read the bill before speaking about it! It even acknowledges why the bill is needed because Winston failed!

I wrote the bill! It says Winston's bill is limited meaning TIME LIMITED and then it goes on to say it OVERSTEPPED his authority as Preisdent!

Eleanor McCroskey
@ANewFlame
It even acknowledges how wrong he is for doing it UNILATERALLY! What more do you need? A clause that says this is to rectify Winston's order NOT preserve it!

Eleanor McCroskey
@ANewFlame
If that's what you need, I'm all for it! Because this isn't about Winston, it's about JOBS! Stand against JOBS all you want, because this is what this bill focuses on!

"Unable to be revoked"? You took that out of CONTEXT! It refers to being unable to revoke government contracts employing at least 200 Americans!

Yeah, funny, like how you keep making things up like the whole "Revoke" lie but then drop it when you realize it's a dead end!

I've uploaded the bill, it's available in my Twitter bio now. Let's let the people actually decide what the bill does. Let's see if they see protecting Winston like you say you see.

Eleanor McCroskey
@ANewFlame
They won't by the way. Because it doesn't!

Cal nodded, inviting the man to lay out his platform, and listened as he did.

"Well." he shrugged. "It's not like I can say I disagree with any of that, or think that those aren't good reasons. But, I would like to know what you were planning on doing to act on those motivations, if you were elected."
