Senator-Elect Fowler Reverse Town Hall

Fowler and his wife held hands as they entered the crowded auditorium. The crowd had been screened by the police and his staff to ensure their were no Johnson 2020 shirt wearers or other disruptive elements.

Going in the people had been polled 20% independent 10% progressive 30% democrat and 40% republican. He had encouraged a representative turnout but knew that as a republican, even a moderate and libertarian one the democrats and progressives would be reluctant to make an appearance.

The crowd of around 200 people was seated in chairs and benches. Fowler took his place in front of them, and grabbed the microphone while the crowd applauded for him. His wife was seated next to him along with a few professors and policy makers from around the state.

"Welcome and thank you all for coming, thank you all for representing the very best our state has to offer and thank you for helping me take the concerns and issues of our state to DC. I am truly humbled by the trust the citizens of the state have placed in me and I shall do everything I can to honor that trust."

"I know not all of you here voted for me, but i'm not here just to represent the ones who did, I am here for everyone in the state, it is an office I will honor."

Fowler started walking around the stage

"Now i did a few of these while on the campaign trail and I plan on doing a few more but I wanted to do one last reverse town hall before heading off to the Senate, both as a thank you and to give one more opportunity to share ideas. If this is your first Reverse Town Hall, basically I ask you the questions and you give me the answers, what should be done about the issues our state and our nation face."

"We will start with something topical, something im sure you have all seen on the news. President Winston has resigned as Congress began impeachment proceedings, it is truly a tumultuous time in Washington. What should we do about Winston? Obviously if he is not in office he can't be impeached but should congress pursue charges against him?"

"GET RID OF HIM! I NEVER WANT TO SEE HIS FACE AGAIN!"

"Senator I'm rather saddened to hear you see this bill as a way to earn votes. Nonetheless this plan would increase wages for rular areas. In order to help the American people we sometimes have to compromise with the other side. If conservatives will have the same issues with this plan as you then it would be rather fitting for us. We would rather increase the minimum wage for everyone equally, but we might face opposition from the same conservatives. This is why we proposed this idea."

"I meant votes in the Senate, Mr. Caldwell. Mr. Caldwell, I would prefer a uniform minimum wage. I cannot speak for the conservatives, so perhaps we should contact them and ask what kind of wage increase, if any, they would support. Another large issue that I think we are neglecting would be the fact that the minimum wage, despite being federal, continues to be uneven across the nation. To that point, some states have no minimum wage at all. Have you considered legislating a method of legally enforcing the federal minimum wage as a preliminary step?"

President Winston has resigned as Congress began impeachment proceedings, it is truly a tumultuous time in Washington. What should we do about Winston? Obviously if he is not in office he can't be impeached but should congress pursue charges against him?"

Fowler walked down the aisle and leaned the microphone to the man

3 Police officers quickly stepped in and separated the man and the microphone.

"Sir" Fowler said "please calm down or these officers will have to escort you from the event"

Fowler turned around and returned to the stage

"Does anyone else have thoughts regarding President Winston?"

"I mean, why do we care?" One older man talked. "It was just a few refugees that we sent back home, and we got that traitor Garestaer out of the deal. What's the big problem here?"

Fowler turns around quickly "Quick someone get a doctor!" then kneels beside her, "Are you all right? i tried to open the door and it must have knocked you over, I'm so sorry!"

Since Fowler had left the building, one of her fairly gruffly looking staff members chased him out.

"Hey come back! You just attacked her!"

Back at the office, Margret quickly dialed 911 as many other staffers cleared the debris and set Stafford on a couch.

"Are you OK?"

The incoherent mumbles were enough to worry every staffer and soon enough, her schedule was cleared as an ambulance could be heard.

A group of three rural looking men jump up out of their seats, they start shouting "GIVE FARMING AND RURAL LIFE A CHANCE VOTE NATIONAL AGRARIAN UNION!", the "leader type" one shouts "SENATOR DO YOU SUPPORT THE NAU?"

Carter laughed when had found out about the impeachment. It wasn't much of a surprise to be honest. He picked up his phone and dialed his WHIP. He was going to bring Winston down if it was the last thing he did.

Rod Johnson is very cross! He has received insider information from his contacts at the Walt Disney Corporation that his favorite thing in the whole world is ending. He is so very cross that he is smashing all of his bottles of water with bubbles out of rage, as Mary watches tearfully.

"CLUB PENGUIN SHOULD NEVER END! I AM VERY CROSS" Rod screams almost incoherently.

He is so enraged that nothing can console him. He begins to smash other things in his penthouse. Glass tables, chairs. He even begins to rip open his stuffed animals, but he freezes when he sees his stuffed puffle. Upon seeing the gloriously cute ball of fur from the MMOG, he is struck with an idea. An idea so powerful, he quickly gets dressed in his best suit.

"Call the lawyers!" He yells to Mary.

She does, and she informs them of the plan!

Rod wheels into the boardroom where all of his lawyers are present. He begins to give the stern look, and says, "Listen up Jews. We have an important thing that we must do today!"

After much deliberation, the plan is set. A new corporation is born, one that will one day come to rival Disney, DreamWorks, Nintendo, and SEGA, the titans of children's entertainment. Rod laughs gleefully as it is finally revealed, the moment he has been waiting for. They will get to work immediately, his corporate attorneys will hire a staff, and will begin the process of creating a new online MMOG, with the best elements of HABBA, Club Penguin, and even Webkinz.

Aubrey was interrupted by the security. Cal muttered an "Aw, drat." at the lack of a chance to shoot around, but complied, as his own detail, flitting about the edges of his vision, did their own job.

"Water." was all Aubrey wanted. "Eh, let's go with a Gatorade and a hot dog. Orange, just ketchup on the dog." was Cal's request.

"Dang, I was hoping for a little more time on the court. Would have been fun to beat the President in a game of 1-on-1. No matter, there's only a bit until the game starts" said Carter. They took a seat, and then Carter began looking around. He waved over to them to a teenager in a t-shirt that read CONCESSIONS and told him "Can you please get a slice of pepperoni pizza and a Diet Pepsi for me, a hot dog with ketchup and an orange Gatorade for Cal, and a water for Aubrey?"

The kid realized who he was serving and a look of shock came over him. "OH. MY. GOD. It's Carter Roberts! You're my hero! I wish I could play basketball the way you did...you gave all us short guys hope! I'll get your order right away." He ran off to get their food.

Carter broke into a hysterical laugh and turned to Cal and Aubrey. "I can't believe that! That kid is serving the incoming president and first lady but gets excited about some old basketball player. I'm seriously dying right now...it's too funny. Should we let him know that you're the President when he comes back, or should we just play along?"

I dont see why not? Though, if I may, I would like to recreate the party based around the ideals of the members. Let them have a say, whether direct or indirectly. Being the party of the people would be crucial to reorganizing the Libertarian Party and, not to mention, gained the trust of the people for our new leadership.
