A Verizon Center security guard asked them to get off the court as they were about to let the general admission ticket holders in.

"Hey, I think they want us off the court. Our seats are over here. You two need anything to eat or drink? They bring the food to you when you're courtside." He led Calvin and Aubrey to their seats, which were cross-court from the home team's bench."

Aubrey was interrupted by the security. Cal muttered an "Aw, drat." at the lack of a chance to shoot around, but complied, as his own detail, flitting about the edges of his vision, did their own job.

"Water." was all Aubrey wanted. "Eh, let's go with a Gatorade and a hot dog. Orange, just ketchup on the dog." was Cal's request.

"As of this moment, I am far more concerned with writing my campaign promises into legislation and getting them passed. Time is of the essence, especially with the drought. I plan on working with conservatives with regards to the drought, and with agricultural relief, to build up political capital. And I believe that conservatives would likely have the same issues with this plan that I do; the risk of labor flight from rural areas on account of such a plan is high. And what of suburban areas? What of sprawl and infill? Who makes the decision as to what is "urban", and what is "rural"? I believe the concept of a slowly increasing uniform minimum wage is our best option. Perhaps Mr. Caldwell here should talk to someone other than two freshman senators about how to earn votes."

Senator-Elect Fowler Reverse Town Hall

Fowler and his wife held hands as they entered the crowded auditorium. The crowd had been screened by the police and his staff to ensure their were no Johnson 2020 shirt wearers or other disruptive elements.

Going in the people had been polled 20% independent 10% progressive 30% democrat and 40% republican. He had encouraged a representative turnout but knew that as a republican, even a moderate and libertarian one the democrats and progressives would be reluctant to make an appearance.

The crowd of around 200 people was seated in chairs and benches. Fowler took his place in front of them, and grabbed the microphone while the crowd applauded for him. His wife was seated next to him along with a few professors and policy makers from around the state.

"Welcome and thank you all for coming, thank you all for representing the very best our state has to offer and thank you for helping me take the concerns and issues of our state to DC. I am truly humbled by the trust the citizens of the state have placed in me and I shall do everything I can to honor that trust."

"I know not all of you here voted for me, but i'm not here just to represent the ones who did, I am here for everyone in the state, it is an office I will honor."

Fowler started walking around the stage

"Now i did a few of these while on the campaign trail and I plan on doing a few more but I wanted to do one last reverse town hall before heading off to the Senate, both as a thank you and to give one more opportunity to share ideas. If this is your first Reverse Town Hall, basically I ask you the questions and you give me the answers, what should be done about the issues our state and our nation face."

"We will start with something topical, something im sure you have all seen on the news. President Winston has resigned as Congress began impeachment proceedings, it is truly a tumultuous time in Washington. What should we do about Winston? Obviously if he is not in office he can't be impeached but should congress pursue charges against him?"
