Velocitians no longer use things like farms. Antiquated and slow.

Well, if they don't use farms, and they still mass produce agriculture, it's actually faster. So, it'd be a much faster process.

Sure it is possible. I mean, all we really have to do is Infiltrate your Queen or whoever is in possession of the Hivemind. Then our Hiveminds duke it out on a telepathic/psionic level, and whichever Hivemind kills the other Hivemind gets to take everything. Although, I doubt the Thonir would have reason to, and the High Mind probably doesn't want to risk death... so, there's that.

It'd be our High Queen which is the driving force behind the Hivemind.

You kill the Hive Queen, another Queen just becomes the Hive Queen. In order to kill the Vresh Hivemind, you'd have to simultaneously kill every Praetor breed and above Vresh.

But then the rest would just devolve into anarchy, kill each other, or in the case of the smaller ones, die from the shock, so you'd win nothing by doing that if your goal was infiltration.

Speaking of threats to galactic peace...

This first contact miscommunication we've been having will solidly put the UNS on the zenophobic side of things.

More guns! Hurrah!

Meeting a hive mind with perfect colony-wide coordination is such a good reason to go isolationist.

They use matter manipulation tech. It's standard. They don't do agriculture period. Anymore at least. Tis all energy production to keep the tech functional.

Yo, would you like to join the Anti-Council? You said earlier that you wanted to protect your economy and all. What better way to do that then join me? With my alliance, your rights to economic protections and indentured servitude are safeguarded against the regulations of galactic law. Perhaps we can even help you retake the colonies. Not ours, of course.

I don't think the anti-Council will be a coherent alliance.

It will more likely simply be a motley collection of civilizations whose only collective objective is to weaken the Council.

Even better. Matter manipulate the eggs inside the food to be undetectable and one with the food. One bite into the food and the Infiltrator's smaller form [mere milimeters] is released, and slowly worms its way into your brain to grow. Perfect. Me likey.

EMP's are somewhat problematic for the Nezon, though they have ways of mitigating the worst of their effects.

Doubt it. They're not a democracy, and what few leaders they do have all believe the same thing. As soon as one starts acting weird, all it would take is a quick trip to the doctor, by force if needed, and have the exotic matter removed.

But since the High Mind has total access to the person's personality, memories, etc., they'd have the Infiltrator act as normal as possible for them until all leaders were Infiltrated. And then, if we can't Infiltrate the population, we permanently puppet state it.

-Base Information-
=========================================================
Symbol
Nation Name: The Thonir Collective
Government Type: Hivemind.
National Leader: The High Mind.
Population: 1 Trillion.
Star Systems: 60,000.
History Of Your Nation: The Thonir Collective, also known as the Collective, or the Thonir Hive, is a hiveminded nation formed from a naturally hiveminded species. The Thonir Collective has spent hundreds of years expanding ever since the High Mind came into being. The Collective's military adaptability as well as overall quick learning speed means that, if they deem you an enemy, they can probably swarm you pretty quickly. They have swarmed and assimilated many species throughout the years. None have won against them... yet.
=========================================================
-Military Information-
=========================================================
Military Information: The Collective's military is made primarily from biological components, including Bioships. They have specialized Monarch forms that control ships and their weapons systems, which seem capable of generating a psionic kinetic shield that stops most non-plasma and non-directed energy attacks pretty easily.
Military Population: Aside from Worker and Monarch forms, most are militarized... so, um... pretty much all of them?
Military Branches: N/A.
Military Strengths: Adaptability, Thonir evolution, swarming.
Military Weaknesses: No directed energy or plasma protection.
=========================================================
-Diplomatic/Economic Information-
=========================================================
Languages: They can speak any language they come into contact with. The High Mind uses telepathy from a ship to learn all he can about the enemy on first contact.
Foreign Policy: The Collective has two foreign policies; singleminded lifeforms and their entire nations must fall, as they are disgusting to the High Mind. However, hiveminded lifeforms may be allied with, depending on circumstances. There are few exceptions to these rules.
Number Of Species: One.
Economic Strengths: Agriculturally speaking, as well as in terms of efficiency and industry, the Collective is very powerful despite being limited to biotech.
Economic Weaknesses: Limited to Biotech. Sure, biotech breakthroughs happen, but sometimes they aren't as good as technology. See the psionic kinetic shields.
=========================================================
-Other-
=========================================================
Technological Bases: Mix of Warhammer, Halo [to a minor extent], and other stuff.
Activity on NS: Ya know.
RP Example: I'm part of this RP, plus you guys know me.
Supporting Factions within your Nation: (Some Nations also have factions that support your nation, Optional)
#Nation-TOTG - Do Not Remove, as this is to track all Applications

Species Name: Thonir.
Appearance: The Main Forms: Worker; Warrior; Soldier; Assassin; Producer; Infiltrator; Ambassador; Monarch.
Biology/Anatomy: Physiology varies, but it's all similar genetic code. The basics are that Warrior and Soldier forms are built to fight, and so they don't have many vital organs to destroy or harm, but they have many bioweapons about them. Producer forms continuously lay and protect eggs with random genetic code that forms a new random form. Sometimes one of the main forms, but every once in a while an all new form occurs. Producers are also brought prisoners from enemy species to be eaten so that their genetic codes can be added. Infiltrators are worms that, if they get inside your brain, merge with it. Your brain and it become one. Infiltrators take over your brain in the name of the High Mind. Once assimilated/indoctrinated, there is no turning back. However, unless found out [which is hard to do], Infiltrators can go unnoticed for years. Monarch forms are indeed giant brain-like things. Another odd thing about the Thonir is that their genetics and biology seem partly synthetic despite their hatred for technology... as if they were created or manipulated.
Natural Abilities: Powerful Psionics, genetic assimilation, rapid reproduction.
Unnatural Abilities: None that are known of.
Breathable Gas: Literally... any atmosphere. Unless the planet has no atmosphere. Then they adapt and begin using something similar to photosynthesis... or create their own atmosphere.
=========================================================
Life Span: Varies on form, but anywhere between 10 and 2,000 Years.
Reproduction: Asexually.
Intelligence Level: Hiveminded sentience. The High Mind is everyone; everyone is the High Mind.
Species Type: Insectoid, primarily.
=========================================================
Population Percentage: 100%. Form populations vary.
Notable Individuals: The High Mind's Monarch form on Thone, their homeworld. It is named 'Kshan'.
=========================================================
Brief Description of Species: The Thonir are an extremely adaptive species, to the point where they can exist on any planet in any conditions. They evolve like a virus, almost, with Producers randomizing the genetic code they have to produce new forms, although they constantly produce more of themselves so that they can produce more Thonir as well as more of themselves. This randomization means new forms can happen frequently, but they usually stick with the basic main forms. The Infiltrators are perhaps their deadliest form, despite measuring no larger than two inches long. This is because they can infiltrate other species indefinitely, especially when fusion with host-brain is complete. They'll sometimes look like an anomaly on brain scans. Infiltrators can also lay eggs in the brain which, when hatched, produce new Infiltrators that can be used by the current host to generate more agents on the inside of the enemy forces. The Thonir are a force to be reckoned with.
#Species-TOTG - Do Not Remove, as this is to track all Applications

So, basically, an insectoid version of the Highbreed, but way, way, waaaay toned down. To the point where they're basically glorified Zerg.

Hope y'all don't mind...

@Spin. Thanks, Spinny!

@URA. Understood. Mind telling me what?

Oh, the Vresh have a massive antipathy for synths.

The little war against the Spindleans started because we think they're synthetics.

One of these days, I'll need to have a talk with you about our definitions of the word "little".

Doubt it. They're not a democracy, and what few leaders they do have all believe the same thing. As soon as one starts acting weird, all it would take is a quick trip to the doctor, by force if needed, and have the exotic matter removed.

But what's the point of having the puppet state? They wouldn't provide you anything. Nor would infiltration, really.

And the moment the military realized the High Command was infiltrated, say, by noticing they're helping a hivemind survive, wouldn't they just revolt and kill all the leaders?
