So it's in good shape or in horrible poverty?

Depends on your standards. Compared to the UNS colonies like Aurora, it's decrepit poverty. But by the standards of any other human nation, it's fantastically rich and prosperous.

Put it this way: Earth is, by UNS standards, an extremely crowded planet. Everything, from energy to food or even things like flying space, is more scare and tightly limited than any other UNS settlement. Obviously, it's the poorest planet in the country when you judge it on per-capita terms.

On the other hand, the UNS as a whole is a fantastically wealthy country, and even a working-class Earth clerk would make enough money to make anyone in, say, the Sovereign Colonies or the Grand Republic jealous.

I've decided that the Ascendancy will be pro-covenant, pro-spindlean humans and pro-spindle. They'll also be somewhat more "liberal" with regard to citizens; all species get the right to vote, as opposed to an ethnarchy. But there'll still be racism towards non-Chodosans or non-Spindlean humans from the Xaei.

How do they know the difference between Spindlean humans and other humans? No idea. They just do.

The Ascendancy will also be neutral on Orso, but in regions that were formerly occupied by Orso forces, if any humans get stranded or aren't able to get back to Orso, they'll be kinda treated shitty for what the Orso did to the Xaei. The XRA hated the Loyalists, but they don't want all of them dead.

Also, the Xaei Loyalists escape and become semi-nomadic. Another preemptive app for the Xaei.

Also, note: The Imperial Remnant and the Xaei Ascendancy are two different, opposing enemy factions/nations. It just so happens the Ascendancy chased the Remnant out, so yeah. It created two nations, this Revolution thing.

I keep it simple. An army is is only 120,000 troops max owing to the individual strength of each grenadier, and that's assuming I have to deploy an entire army to a planet.

It also helps when the planet is only a few important settlements. Metropolitan worlds with populations in the billions are more complicated, as they have garrisons larger than Earth's combined military might.

Location and Date of Capture: Yamone 41 System, Locally Called New Constantinople, Capital City: Adrian FSY: 1641

While records and translation software from the Halusian Sovereignty and the collection of Synthetic AI's that themselves and these "Humans" call the Created have been very beneficial in previous Operations. The latest update of our systems has made them incompatible with the primitive Human technology. I have recalled back to a previous version to translate all logs until another patch is created.

Operative Jahira: Start from the Beginning, my Superiors wish to know how exactly a group of primitive creatures who can barely manage space travel managed to take down one of the most advanced and most powerful creations in the Federal Military.

Pierre (Translated): *Scoffs* You Xenos keep records, right? A set up with this many species, this much territory. You should have Bureaucracy so deep that it would make the old Homeworld cry. Christ, the paperwork just for this little Penal Colony of yours must be-

*Recording is distorted. Assumed to be due to Operative Jahira's use of her psionic abilities. Recommend minor reprimand for damage of FIS equipment.

Operative Jahira: Enough babbling, Cannon Fodder. Tell me what happened during the battle, or I'll check to see if Tau Jul is busy. I understand you Humans and the Scra'Shn have started a bit of a rivalry in the short time your two species have interacted. Tau is as mean as they come, and he doesn't need psionics to make you wish we would let you die."

Pierre: Vous putain folle! Fine, it was two weeks into your invasion. We had given up any hope that you fuckers would have moved on like you had with Araki and Madrid III. No, this time just blowing up everything out of the sky wasn't enough for you, no, you had to come down to where my garrison was stationed. I remember overhearing some of the Greens talking about how they should have snuck on board one of the EVAC ships. Couldn't blame them, those ships seemed to be the only things you didn't blow out of the sky. Unfortunately for them, the Colonel wasn't as understanding.

Operative Jahira: Logs from the battle show that both Fleet Master Jag and General Viiza followed proper protocols and offered your garrison an honorable surrender before the commencement of planet side hostilities. Many of your fellow soldiers took the offer. Why didn't you and your comrades?

Pierre: Those men and women aren't my fellow soldiers, just a bunch of cowards. If their choice was to run and leave the rest of us to what was very possibly our deaths, they have no right to wear the uniform. Besides, I know what your like. Despite your sophisticated and aloof disguise, I know what you Xenos really are.

Operative Jahira: Explain....

Pierre: While me and any possible survivors of the battle would like to say that we stayed out of a sense of duty to our country and species, there's more to it than that. 4 Months prior, we had been at the battle of the Rubble. A collection of Asteroids connected together in a string of settlements and mines. That's where you guys threw a new species at us. The ones in the environment suits. Not the small little pudgy ones with the methane tanks or the skinny and tall ones with the weird tentacle hair things when you take off their helmets. I'm talking about the big ones, about 3 meters in height. Four arms and usually all of them have some sort of weapon in their hand.

Operative Jahira: The Jalgari.....

Pierre: Walking monstrosities more like it. They were Bastards to kill. Their weapons, kinetic like ours, but punched right through our armor. If someone managed to survive the torrent of bullets their guns shot out, they were ripped to shreds by the cutlass like blades they liked to carry around with them, all while shooting back at the rest of us. But that's not what I'm talking about.

We were on patrol when we came across a bar

Here is an old example from me
Grechtingkeit System - Angelvolk - City of Tarus - N'Soko's Position- 9 Days After Awakening

"Acknowledged." Second Lieutenant Kahler spoke, after the Maug-Lai commander squished the Highbreed corpse onto his battlesuit. As the Maug-Lai mecha moved forward, a gust of wind burst over them as five Prometheus battlesuits flew over.

"Squad two and three, glide on the roofs and provide support. Squad one will continue to surge forward and eliminate any incoming hostiles. Marking projected bombardment zones on your huds."

"Affirmative!" Yelled the platoon over the intercoms.

When the prometheuses moved above the streets while the rest of the squads glided over the rooftops. Their movement was almost graceful, very human-like in motion. When a pack of siege beasts were spotted in front, the prometheuses fired their two assault rifles at them. While the bullets made their marks, the prometheuses suddenly hosteled their rifles on their hips and long chainsaw-like blades slide out of their forearms. They began to tear into the siege-beasts, using their blades to tear flesh from bone. With the frecioity and skill of their melee attack, all of them were covering in some sort of gore.

"Pfft, guess they don't like getting dirty." One of the prometheus pilots muttered over the squad's intercom. The blades retracted from the prometheuses's forearms and they redrew their two assault rifles. The rain washed off some of the gore to reveal the company's iconic symbol on their left shoulder armor. The Highbreed that died, in their last moments, sent the image of the heart to the Allmind. From the consumed Ostians, it could recognize that these battlesuits belonged to the 75th Orbitial Knights, an elite company of battlesuits. The presence of these battlesuits mean one thing, one of the seven elite battlesuit formations in the Ostian military (apart from the Royal Guard) have been deployed to the front.

"All units stick in formation, don't go to far ahead, this is an escort mission." Ordered Second Lieutenant Kahler to his platoon. There were fifteen battlesuits in the platoon, ten hyperions and five prometheuses. Squad one consisted of the five prometheuses and squads two and three conistsed of five hyperions each. The Second Lieutenant piloted a promethus. The head of the lead prometheus glanced momentarily the rest of the body.

"It's going to take a good one or two hours to get this decontaminated." Second Lieutenant Kahler muttered to himself.

Grechtingkeit System - Angelvolk - City of Tarus - Malgrek Cathedral - 10 Days After Awakening

"This is Silverfish 01 to any nearby teams, watch out for cracks on the ground, damn Highbreed are setting up traps. I've lost Silverfish 03, 07, and 12 to these traps. Panzers down to 7, respond over."

"This is Raptor 01 to Silverfish 01, where are those reinforcements you assured us earlier? Over."

"This is Silverfish 01, Silverfishes 04 and 08 were interpreted on the way to your position, over."

"This is Raptor 01, my position is starting to become encircled. The troops below are going to get cut off at this rate, over."

"This is Fredrick 01, we're starting to run out of ammunition! Requesting resupply drop at our position, immediatly, over!"

"This is Bishop to all Panzers, reinforcements are incoming to your position. We got Schwarzenherzen Joker, Gladius and Khan enroute to the front-lines, out."

As the Maug-Lai mecha and their Ostian battlesuit escort moved forward to the front-lines, the signs of battle became more and more apparent. Hover-trucks drove past them, heading towards the Cathedral which large Ostian dropships began descending and loading personal into its armored belly. The sight of damaged and demolished buildings became more apparent, and the sights of Ostian fortifications became more prevalent. Soldiers below were being ordered by their officers to enter the transports. Much equipment and heavy weaponry was being sabotaged and left behind. Even though they knew that the Highbreed couldn't use their equipment, they weren't going to give them the chance to and even if they did, they would have to repair the broken equipment. The communications became more and more frenzied as the Maug-Lai and Ostian moved closer to the epicenter of the chaos.

The tactical display of the Cathedral's defensive lines revealed that each line was falling back gradually. The first line would evacuate and then the second and etc. But because of the time it took for the Maug-Lai to depart, these defenses were being to reach their breaking point. The battlesuits that were first sent in had dwindled. Five platoons which had fifteen battlesuits each were sent to reinforce the front-lines. These platoons were Fredrick, Raptor, Silverfish, Leo, and Halberd. Two platoons were already on the front-lines, Swallow and Albatross, when the order came in.

"This is Schwarzenherzen Joker 01, to all squad leaders of Schwarzenherzen Joker, communications check, over."

"This is Schwarzenherzen Joker 06 to Schwarzenherzen Joker 01, communications working, over."

"This is Schwarzenherzen Joker 11 to Schwarzenherzen Joker 01, communications working, over."

"This is Schwarzenherzen Joker 01, to platoon. Our orders are to secure the retreat of our forces and protect Khan. Once these objectives have been accomplished we are to return to the Nest, out."

As they glided towards the battlefield, two distinct shapes appeared within sight.

"This is Schwarzenherzen Joker 01 to nearby Panzers, what is your identification, over?" The two figures turned and seemed like one was trying to shoot at the other.

"This is Silverfish 04 to Schwarzenherzen Joker 01, don't let those smaller skrall get close to you! They're literally climbing onto the frame." The scene became more apparent as one of the battlesuits was struggling to take the skrall climbing all over it's frame off while the other one was trying to firing his assault rifle without damaging the other. The lead battlesuit of Schwarzenherzen Joker surged forward and released its combat blades and began to cut away at the skralls. The Highbreed organic material sprayed all over both of the battlesuits. The head of the battlesuit which had the skralls on it before, turned and looked at its savior.

"This is Silverfish 04 to Schwarzenherzen Joker 01, thanks for the assist, over."

"This is Schwarzenherzen Joker 01 to Silverfish 04, keep moving towards Raptor, over."

"This is Silverfish 04 to Schwarzenherzen Joker 01, affirmative, out."

-Base Information-
=========================================================
(Image)
Nation Name: The Imperial Remnant (Also: The Xaei Union Remnant)
Government Type: Federated Imperial Semi-Directorial Stratocracy: By constitution, the Imperial Remnant, also known as the Xaei Union Remnant, is a stratocracy; its entire population is predominantly formed of Loyalists and military, and all receive mandatory military training and are constantly under military service aboard the Remnant's fleets. The Imperial Remnant is a 'federated empire' - each fleet is governed individually by their native Admiral or General - with the Emperor and High Admiralty having final say as executives. The Emperor is the head of state, having all military authority to himself in terms of governance; the High Admiralty Board are five individuals who lead the nation politically and somewhat to a military degree, answering to the Emperor militarily speaking. The High Admiralty Board is also judiciary and legislative. The Emperor is simply a title; they are also known as the Supreme High Admiral, the Grand Admiral, or the Chief Admiral.
National Leaders: His Imperial Majesty, Grand Admiral, and Emperor Ki'Tan [militarily]; The High Admiralty Board [politically and some degree of military].
Population: 50 Billion.
Star Systems: None - constantly nomadic and on the move; temporary planetary conquests to retrieve as many resources as possible.
History Of Your Nation: See Xaei Union until the Revolution. After the Revolution ended, High Admiral Ki'Tan and a few other Admirals, generals, etc. loyal to him and the monarchy left. The Loyalists and military formed the Imperial Remnant, and Ki'Tan named himself Grand Admiral, or, he called himself alternatively, the Emperor. The Imperial Remnant roams the galaxy, now, and is so xenophobic that on contact with foreign entities they open fire, destroying the colonies in place and taking as many resources as they can from the system. Sometimes, using specialized experimental technology from the Union, they use devices to feed on stars for fuel and more power.

Military Information: See Xaei Union.
Military Population: As a pure stratocracy, it kind of breaks the rules, but... everyone.
Military Branches: The Imperial Remnant Fleets [IRF].
Military Strengths: Technology, ships, blitzkrieg, extremely effective and efficient leadership.
Military Weaknesses: Small numbers, extended battles could cause issues.

-Diplomatic/Economic Information-
=========================================================
Languages: Xaei.
Foreign Policy: Kill everything and take their shit. Also steal tech and resources needed from planets.
Number Of Species: 1.
Economic Strengths: Entirely trade-based between fleets, regulated by the Board. Distributional; somewhat communistic economic stuff, for the good of the Remnant.
Economic Weaknesses: No real settlements; industry requires materials to be stolen from planets or stars.

And yes, the Imperial Remnant, I just realized, are similar to the Taari Remnant from one of the old DOS threads. The Imperial Remnant is kind of like the Taari Remnant in its early days. Just a different catalyst to create it. Heh.

Seminomadic?!

Ya dun goofed Void. The Orso Empire hates semi or fully nomadic governments in exile. This is like the Second Pax Orso to them.

White.

The Imperial Remnant is likely going nowhere near the Orso. At least, they're going to wait until they has bigger fleets. You being fixed-in-place and their ability to go across the galaxy to starve anyone who chases them makes them have an advantage.
