Because most of the last few weeks have been in a three and then one-day period, so not that much time has actually passed.

The UPE, when I believe they were about to come into conflict with Borinquen, suspended an earlier alliance deal with Buckeye, which included cutting them off from the businesses and drilling operations they had set up in the UPE. Buckeye marched troops to the border, and EDWARD agents crossed over into Buckeye territory to attack them, thus starting the war. Buckeye tried to offer an early piece, but the UPE delegate attacked their delegate with a battleaxe, because, of course he did. There were some battles, Buckeye got the better of them, a Borinquenos entry allowed some UPE guys to escape, and the Buckeye forces were finally stopped at the Allegheny River, and then the strip just north of it, by the Freedonians. UPE kicked out the Freedonians, and the Buckeye men took over that whole border, killed everyone near it. UPE tried an incredible ill-conceived attack, and had their new army slaughtered. They have now seemed content to wait at their defensive line and not do anything, while in negotiations with the UPE. So, the new border (if not formalized), is the Allegheny River, then a little strip running north to the Canadian border.

I'm assuming the railroads will go back to their original owners and all, else Union Pacific is in a better position now, even after the Coeur D'alene/Reno railroad deal.
