If this is a 1600 era fleet, then they aren't permanent, they're conscripted merchantmen

Rather, I would argue that his strengths aren't necessarily that great.
But greek fire was disallowed in the first one, for a time atleast. Also Orks have there own mages as well.

If Greek fire still isn't allowed, then I will go with my second idea.
My mages belong to the alchemy school of magic, and are capable of using powers such as pyrokinesis.

I mean I already have my solution. Swim under the ship and wreck it's hull with an axe or mace.

And there would be enough water at sea for my mages to negate such efforts, at less cost, i would think. Everyone must be willing to take losses Orson, especially in Nation Rp's.

Rp Nation Name: The Kingdom of the Dead

Population: Around 600,000
History and Culture: The Kingdom of the Dead traces its origin directly to a former nation, which was known as the Kingdom of Runesdale. A mighty kingdom that was conquered by hordes of soldiers and raiders from an enemy nation. His people slaughtered and his kingdom in ruins, King Daruis III was killed by a corrupted necromancer of the opposing nation. This mage, in his anger, cursed the immortal souls of Darius and whatever remained of his fallen kin. He cursed them to remain stuck in a purgatory-like state, to wander the earth as lost souls, and then cast them out of Runesdale. They would become tormented phantoms.
The now-cursed phantom King Darius III took the lost souls of his army, and any souls of his subjects that he could find, and led them from the ruins of their once prosperous nation into the wilderness. Darius led them into the mountains of the north, and there he would establish a new home for his people. At the base of one of the mountains were the ruins of the nation of Arcadia, an older kingdom that fell victim to plague. The deserted, crumbling mountain fortress of Arcadia's largest city would serve as a new capital, one that would house the souls of King Darius III's fallen people.
The Kingdom of the Dead was soon born. The first of its kind in the mortal world, King Darius III laid out the foundation of this new nation within the dark halls and caverns of old Arcadia. As the centuries passed, the number of subjects within the Kingdom grew as all manner of new souls fell under the reign of King Darius III. The lost spirits of soldiers killed in battle near old Arcadia. The souls of travelers who died in the mountain passes. Even ancient, mystical spirits, both dark and light, fell under the jurisdiction of the Kingdom as its borders expanded to encompass much of the Northern Mountains.
Over the centuries that passed, the Kingdom of the Dead began to accrue quite a reputation for itself. Countless stories of weary travelers being accosted on the road by angry phantoms began to spread throughout the region. Their stories soon became cautionary tales, and the rumors of the Kingdom of the Dead became legend and folklore.

Ruler:(Image)
King Darius III has been the sovereign ruler of the Kingdom throughout all of its 500-year history. The son of the old King Darius II, he ruled over the former Kingdom of Runesdale at the time of its demise. Soon his grand empire fell prey to swarms of conquering soldiers from the west, an attack that King Darius's army could not fend off. The King fought valiantly, but was ultimately slain by an evil necromancer. Now a phantom, he and the souls of his kin were cast out of the Kingdom of Runesdale by the dark mage, punished to exist as a ghost stuck in the material world. Being a wise man, King Darius III led his lost souls into the wilds of the north, until they at last came upon the ruins of an extinct empire formerly known as Arcadia. Here, Darius figured, would make a perfect home for his people. Here among the stone ruins, tucked under the watchful eye of the Northern Mountains, the ghosts would be safe from foreign intrusion.
A powerful phantom with an air of grandeur and dignity about him, King Darius III rules over the Kingdom of the Dead with a fair yet stern hand. Darius genuinely cares for his people, and will take any action necessary in order to ensure the survival of their nation. To the living that are brave enough to try and conjure him, King Darius III appears as a stoic, terrifying visage of ethereal smoke.
-Military
Military Population: 8,000
Common Soldier equipment: The Army of the Dead are equipped with the weapons that were standard 500 years ago: swords, bows & arrows, battle axes, and spears.
- The Cavalry of the Dead -(Image)
The Cavalry of the Dead makes up the bulk of the Dead Army. Armed to the teeth with spears, swords, arrows, and axes, the Cavalry of the Dead boasts a force of dedicated specters more than ready to defend their homeland. They are usually mounted on the backs of undead horses, and employ a brutal, nasty style of combat.
- The Spectral Hunters -(Image)
The Spectral Hunters are highly feared, very dangerous dark spirits that are employed by King Darius III to act as scouts for the Kingdom of the Dead, as well as an elite military group akin to the white knights of old. However their use tends to be limited to dire situations, for spirits can be unpredictable.
Strengths: Ghosts are defensive of their home territory, are immortal, come in large swarms, and usually choose to be invisible. Most importantly, they are downright terrifying.
Weaknesses: Ghosts can be easily overpowered by necromancers, curses, holy artifacts, and protective rituals.

Seems interesting, but I don't see how it would interact with the world at large.
