I think it would be funnier if the insects go out of control after 30 minutes (or so) if they aren't destroyed, rather than disappearing... which in practical terms could mean the OP can take them over to wreak hilarious carnage.

Plus, I think the only person capable of cancelling this whole insect thing is Mateo, given how he is a walking taser and also electricity arcs itself pretty nicely on insects.

Whether or not he is faster does not change the fact he can get third degree burn when touching something that has a 3kV discharge.
Not counting him when powered up.
Then again, if he can make it so he doesn't feel it, sure.
