Gods Among Us
Character Application

Character Description

    Given Name: Lake Stonecipher
    Alternate Identities: 'Android' 'Specter' 'Ghost'
Hero, Villian or Neutral: Neutral, leaning to hero
    Gender: Male
    Age: 14
    Species: Meta-human
    Apperance: (See bottom of app)
Characters Biggest Strength: His calculative mind when he uses his power, and how once he makes a decision he always sticks with it.
Characters Biggest Weakness: Not only does he become emotionless when he uses his power because that part of his brain is switched from emotion to calculating due to the very nature of his power, he also has to come into direct contact with whatever he wants to manipulate (refer to power). In addition, he is currently extremely susceptible to persuasion on either side of good and bad because he doesn't have his own deeply rooted ideals and morals. In addition, his body is still that of a normal human, so if caught off guard he could easily be eliminated./list]

    Motivations and Desires
Primary Goal: He seeks to know what is truly right or wrong, rather than wavering between different perspectives
Secondary Goal: Commit to being either a hero or a villain
Fears: The thing that scares Lake the most is himself. His power alone frightens him so much because he doesn't like hurting people, but he will if the situation calls for it.

    Powers
Primary Source of Powers: Meta-Gene and self teaching since nobody can tell him how his power works.

    • Power 1: Vector Manipulation
Effects: It is the ability to change the direction and magnitude of vectors. (Vector - direction and speed of an object. Think of it as a counter blow in which he redirects the force of whatever was coming at him back towards the sender with increased velocity and more precise aim. Kind of like Marth in Smash bros but without a sword.)
Weaknesses: Lake has to use Function Conversion before he can manipulate anything, which takes about 1-2 minutes. Also has to be in direct contact with what he wants to manipulate.
    • Power 2: Function Conversion
Effects: Changes any given part of his brain to function in the ways he needs. Time to complete varies on the change. To use Vector Manipulation requires about 1-2 minutes of time to convert the emotional part of his brain to the logical and calculative part
Weaknesses: Time to complete the process varies on how much is being changed as well as how much Lake can concentrate on the changing.
      Equipment: A single, bulletproof mask.

    Background
      Occupation: Student I guess?
Training and Education: He attended a normal preschool and school up until he was taken into the academy, so about the standard knowledge of a 14 year in everything except for math. Since his power requires the utmost computational skill, he excels in it far beyond that of a high schooler, rivaling those that major in math in college.
Things any characters might know about them: Appearance through pictures, his affiliation with the Academy. Maybe a select few people can know about his Function Conversion if he gets to know them well enough.
Group Affiliations: Loyal to no one, but can currently be persuaded extremely easily into doing something that someone wants.
      History and Bibliography:

Lake was born an ordinary child just like the other children in the hospital that day, and he remained just like that throughout the first few years of his life until he turned 10. That was the fateful year that it happened. As him and his parents were finishing up from having gone out to lunch and going out onto the crosswalk to start there journey home, there was a catastrophic wreck right beside them, and Lake's parents were caught in the worst of it. His wish at that moment, as he stared at the turmoil that lay before him with wide eyes, was but a whisper in the back of his mind. "If only I could have stopped it," He thought. That was when the Meta-Gene was first activated, granting him the power he wished so dearly for. It was until later, around when he was 13 that he got to experience it himself. Since his parents were dead he was taken into foster care where nobody noticed him save for the bullies that would pummel him at the very least three times a week. One day, while he was in the midst of it, a voice sounded at the back of his head. "Function Conversion complete. Now activating Vector Manipulation." After that, all the punches that the other kids threw at him were redirected with more force than they had given, knocking them to the floor. They tried once more, only to be met with the same result. Then they gave up. The next day they began to call him things like 'monster' and 'ghost'. This continued for a long time until he was picked up by the academy where he now resides.
Summary: Confused and desperate, but decisive.

"Powers are assumed to not directly alter organic matter and living things unless explicitly stated. For example, a person with Telekinesis (The ability to move things with there mind) cannot rip a heart out of a person's chest unless stated. A Pyromancer cannot turn another living creature into fire or make a fire inside of them. An Electromancer cannot absorb electricity from a person unless stated and a reality warper can only warp inorganic matter unless stated so. A telekinetic cannot rip a persons heart out of their chest or manipulate their organs ect. ect."

I always thought that would go in the part of "Don't kill other characters without the authorization of their creators part", but I'll assume it also serves for bosses and NPCs.
Nothing to see here, move along.

The vans headed to the Stewart International Airport in Newburgh, New York.
Just dropping this here so that there's something to actually result from any investigation into the vans.

So, what's Balder supposed to do with Jack?

And further on, what do I do with Charlie and Sörensen?

I will introduce your character in a bit to help out.

Serah wrote:So, what's Balder supposed to do with Jack?

I don't know what Balder is going to do he's your character. He could try to get to know his new teammate or go off looking for a problem to solve.

EDIT:
@Academy folks: I'm going to give us a bit of a time skip in a bit. We are taking everyone down to the field for a short game of soccer. Finish up your conversations and make sure your ready to move on. We won't do the soccer game as some huge thing so don't get too invested in it.

I was thinking of the soccer thing not happening at all as many students would be too distraught by the release of yet another eldrich abomination... Filia would be much too distraught anyway.

Only the Spain crew knows, and honestly, PB showed he was powerful but its likely none of them know he's as powerful as he actually is which would remove any fear now that they're separated. The Spain crew isn't going to play Soccer. Cohen wants Dwight to make sure there are no injuries first.

Edit
@EVERYONE: Also another thing. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE start your posts with something that tell us WHERE your characters are!

Do this
Field - Roc

or this

Nevermore: Bedroom

Or any other system. Ideally, you would also list any other characters present like I have been doing in the city.

This helps numerous things but it helps people know who else might be in the same room or who might not be. I've seen quite a bit of people reacting to stuff not in the same room and some people not reacting to stuff that happens right next to them.

I have been working on the following app. Do we have a History teacher at the moment? I thought it would be fun to have a teacher who is pretty sensible but if not watched carefully might encourage all kinds of bad habits among the student body. If you are amenable to the app, then perhaps we can brainstorm an entrance. I have a few potentially good ones.

Gods Among Us
Character Application

Character Description
Given Name: Currently known as 'Muirin'
Alternate Identities: An almost uncountable number of these. Most recently, 'Laurel Alaunus' and the 'leannán sí'.
Hero, Villian or Neutral: Neutral. Generally well meaning but not in possession of a human moral compass.
    Gender: Female
    Age: c. 2,500
    Species: Fae
Apperance: Strikingly attracted, with a somewhat ethereal look to her. Muirin is 5'8'' tall and quite slender. She has dark hair, blue eyes, a somewhat pale complexion and looks, ever so slightly, like Imogen Vaughan.
Or if you prefer a picture.
Characters Biggest Strength: Despite the fact that she can act like a capricious teenager at times, Muirin is quite wise.
Characters Biggest Weakness: If relaxed, Muirin will consume any and all mind-altering substances that she can get her hands on. In an unexpected crisis there is a good chance she won't be sober.

Motivations and Desires
Primary Goal: Save face by ensuring a certain unfriendly feline fae doesn't kill any of her bloodline.
Secondary Goal: Have all manner of hedonistic fun.
Fears: Muirin is terrified of another person learning her true name. Muirin is also frightened of iron.

Powers
Primary Source of Powers: Magic, species trait
  • Power 1: Fae physiology
Effects: While appearing human, Muirin does not age and heals from most wounds within minutes.
Slightly more nimble than the average human.
Weaknesses: Muirin is extremely allergic to iron. Prolonged contact will cause a skin rash. If ever taken prisoner she can very easily be controlled with steel or iron handcuffs/shackles which will negate all of her powers. Wounds inflicted with iron or steel will heal much more slowly and if any gets lodged in her it will slowly poison her, keep her from channelling magic and eventually kill her.
Additionally, the Fae physiology means Muirin's eyes don't look normal (they usually have slitted cat-like pupils). She disguises this (see items section) but if the disguise is broken she will appear very distinctly not human.
Muirin cannot knowingly tell a lie.
Finally, Muirin can be summoned against her will by human mages... if they can figure out what her actual name is.
  • Power 2: Portals to the Dreamlands
Effects: Muirin can open portals to the Dreamlands and move both herself and others. When she is trying to move between worlds the areas she is travelling to and from will become wreathed in a supernaturally thick fog. It is quite possible for other people (or creatures) to wander in and accidentally end up on the other side...
Weaknesses: Muirin needs to be in a place that is highly charged with the kind of magic that fae can access in order to travel across worlds. This means that, on earth she can only transition in places like old forests, ancient ruins or locations where there has recently been a lot of violence.
Additionally the power requires time and a lot of concentration. She cannot create a portal if she is trying to dodge bullets.
  • Power 3: Illusion Magic
Effects: Muirin is extremely gifted at creating believable illusions. She can project illusions to any location within eyesight. She can create false objects or hide things from view, including herself.
Weaknesses: Muirin's illusions don't have any physical form and can't actually hurt anyone (except if they happen to be in the Dreamlands in which case the things she create are very real).
If she attempts to hide a moving object there will be a discernible mirage-like 'ripple' in the air. People particularly those used to her magic, will know to look out for it and will be able to spot that something they can't properly see is moving.
If she is not sober she won't do a particularly good job at making believable illusions.
  • Power 4: Sleep magic
Effects: Muirin is a powerful denizen of the Dreamlands and can send someone to sleep with a touch of her hand. They will wake up in half an hour or so feeling very refreshed.
Weaknesses: This power requires physical contact. It has no effect whatsoever on other creatures of the Dreamlands.
  • Power 5: Healing blood
Effects: Muirin's blood has healing properties for others if ingested or given in a transfusion.
Weaknesses: Draining her blood will interfere with her abilities to perform magic, her ability to regenerate herself and will eventually kill her.
  • Additional Weakness: While she knows, conceptually, how a lot of weapons work, Muirin is not particularly competent in combat of any form whatsoever.
Equipment: Wears a pendant that creates the illusion of human eyes. This does not disguise whether her pupils are dilated or contracted, just the shape (which means other people can spot when she isn't sober).

Background
    Occupation: None on earth.
Training and Education: No formal training.
Things any characters might know about them: There is quite a bit that an enterprising researcher can learn about Muirin. She is very old and has been a frequent meddler in the affairs of humanity. Most recently WB Yeats wrote of her 'for the Lianhaun shee lives upon the vitals of its chosen, and they waste and die. She is of the dreadful solitary fairies. To her have belonged the greatest of the Irish poets, from Oisin down to the last century' among other unflattering things.
Group Affiliations: Fae of the Seelie court.
History and Bibliography: Muirin is the daughter of one of the Gods of Earth, a minor Gallic deity known as Alaunus who was associated with healing. Healing, literally, flows in her veins. Since the very beginning she has been fascinated by humans. Gifted with the rather rare ability to move between earth and the Dreamlands with (comparative) ease, Muirin became a keen study of humanity. She became fascinated by extraordinary individuals with the capacity to shape the world, an interest which has, over the ages, frequently developed into stronger emotions; she has a long string of lovers, some of whom accompanied her to the Dreamlands for a time and has given birth to several children across the ages.
Something of a hedonist, Muirin has a tendency to lead her lovers into the world of addiction, which in turn often leads to illness, both mental and physical. Yeats was wrong about her; she doesn't feed on the life of her lovers, she just helps them develop all kinds of unhealthy habits which frequently result in madness and death.
In the 17th century she met and carried on a long love affair with the Welsh philosopher, Thomas Vaughan, to whom she bore a son. As such she is a very distant ancestor of Imogen Vaughan whom she had a part in trapping in the Dreamlands (hoping the girl would reject the human side of her nature and become fully fae). Ultimately though, when it became clear Imogen would not do so, and with enemies closing in, Muirin relented relented and helped the girl return (the fog on the giant's causeway when she arrived was a signature of one of Muirin's portals). Their relationship is 'complicated', but the appearance of an enemy on earth has led Muirin to return to keep an eye on her young descendant. After all, it would make her look foolish if that ridiculous cat-fae managed to kill one of her blood.

Summary: A fae healer and illusionist.

This sounds good.
Given there smiliarities what are the odds that she would know Dwight?
We could have it that she called up the Good Doctor when she got in a bit of a bind and needs a place to hide. Dwight would be happy to put in a good word with Cohen.

Character Description
    Given Name: Lambert Rivii
Alternate Identities: 'Mutant', 'freak', 'monster'... The list goes on, as long as it's derogatory. 'Lambo' to some. 'Black Cat' to others.
Hero, Villian or Neutral: Tends to gravitate towards Neutral, but is a definite villain to certain people.
    Gender: Male
    Age: ~350 years old.
    Species: Mutant, but globally human.
Apperance: Grey hair, numerous scars on his body, including his face most notably being the one that cuts somewhat deeply from forehead down to his left eye. Beyond that, his physique is rather lean but hidden under his armor. Said armor is mostly color neutral with bits of grey/dark blue. He hides a metallic cat pendant under his clothes.
Lambert is also somewhat tall at almost 1M88.
Characters Biggest Strength: Lambert is extremely cunning and usually outsmarts his opponents by being several steps ahead. He also lacks the ability to feel empathy for his fellow man, or at least that's what he wants people to believe.
Characters Biggest Weakness: The plethora of side effects to his mutations, paranoia, streaks of sudden anger, and even hallucinations at times.

Motivations and Desires
Primary Goal: Meet with the last member of the Wyvill family.
    Secondary Goal: Meeting Balder.
Fears: Due to his mutations and his rather long life, Lambert has been through a lot. But nothing strikes him down more than the memory of the Rivii fortress getting raided. It sure as hell won't make him run,
but it'll surely trigger his hallucinations and paranoia.

Powers
Primary Source of Powers: Training, mutations, magic.
  • Rivii Kotik Physiology:
Effects: Because of his mutations, his body has been altered so much that his reflexes, strength, stamina are all peak human, if not inhuman entirely. The precise effect of the mutations are as follows: Peak human strength, peak human reflexes (As in capable of redirecting a crossbow bolt back to its sender.), peak human stamina (The ability to recover fully from a 100M sprint in around 7 seconds).

It also entails the ability to drink the potions made for them and through that, gives them a peak human metabolism that can help recovering from wounds that would be otherwise fatal with the help of their potions.
Side effects include sterility, immunity to disease, loss of emotions, loss of empathy and cat eyes. Lambert however never seemed to suffer through the loss of emotions and simply has them dulled, whether it's an effect from the mutations themselves or because of his life, there is no clear way to tell.

Weaknesses: Despite having an enhanced metabolism and whatnot, the mutation was made to work in the early renaissance era against magic threats such as mages or monsters, not against ARs, shotguns or sniper rifles. While Lambert may put up a fight, a well placed shot will end him just as well as snapping his neck for instance.
  • Kotik Bladesinging:
Effects: Throughout the ages, chanting certain words to cast spells has been a common medium, however, the members of the Rivii family when they created the Kotik also made some research over that medium of casting. And so, every Kotik then became trained with an art called bladesinging. Which essentially consists of uttering words of power to give different attributes to their weapon.
Lambert however, due to time has lost some of the words, as they are part of an ancient elven tongue that isn't used anymore. As such, he only knows how to briefly electrify his sword, make it spontaneously combust, or send a wind blade.

Weaknesses: The only metal known capable of resisting constant use of such magic is silver, and as such, while the techniques to forging swords stay the same, the same problem remains, it cannot be cast on something that shoots, such as a gun for instance. And any self respecting Kotik will only use it on their silver sword.
However, there is also the matter of the fact that only Kotik can use it due to the fact that a human attempting to say the same things at the same volume would get their vocal chords shattered. While this may not be the case for Lambert, his old age as a Kotik makes it so that his vocal chords get sore after a while, so much so that he'll need several hours to say anything again, much less bladesing at all.

Equipment: High grade Silver/Titanium alloy sword: A sword, long of about 1M70 and made of a silver titanium alloy capable of sustaining a Kotik's bladesinging.

High grade Leather/Mail armor: A somewhat normal light armor, if a bit uncommon in its making. It allows for freedom of movement, while still allowing a decent amount of defense to the user. Made for sneaking around and sabotaging.

Kotik Potions: Due to the fact that most of the original recipes for each potion has been lost, all of them are healing potions. Or rather, metabolism enhancing potions that enhance Lambert's natural metabolism to heal faster. Of course, it won't stitch wounds together, but it'll keep him fighting for longer.

Background
    Occupation: Monster Hunter/Kotik
Training and Education: Throughout his life, Lambert has seen many of Rivii fortresses fall, and has attended each of them to some degree. But the one that brought the mutations was the first, and the last he saw. Farraige Dùnta.
Things any characters might know about them: Absolutely nothing. The only one that may know of Lambert doesn't even know if he's alive.
Group Affiliations: What remains of the bloodlines Balder created.
History and Bibliography: In his youth, Lambert was a pretty normal kid, almost died several times of several deadly diseases, had few friends and lived in the slums of Krakow. Until he was kidnapped by the Rivii family to make a new generation of Kotiks.
At first, he thought he'd welcome the occasion, after all, his parents had done nothing for him, might as well go through with it. And so he did. And progressively, he became quite skilled.
Then came the mutations, once he was of age. And once those happened, he never saw the world the same way. The week that followed the doses, he was found squirming and trashing in pain, knowing his body was being literally torn apart.

When the initial side effects subsided, he had effectively become a Kotik in the true sense of the term. But that meant nothing to him, he knew what the mutations did to him, he knew what they had brought.
So he left, and for ten straight years, no one had heard of him. Until he came back, with his opinions of the Rivii vastly changed. Where he once wanted to just slaughter them all, he now knew exactly why they had done this. And while it hadn't been enough to forgive them, he pledged formal allegiance to them. Officially serving as a monster hunter.

However, despite all the work he did, all the work the Rivii did on their own, they were never appreciated to their true value. And so, pogroms after pogroms happened. More and more fortresses were destroyed, and soon enough, he found himself to be among the last ones alive of his clan.
Every apprentice he had taken, every pogrom, it had taken a serious toll on his mental health. As such, he decided to move somewhere else once the last fortress fell. Maybe he'd find Balder there, maybe he'd help him find who remains.

Summary:Mentally ill mutant, somewhat bitter.

There, now we wait for the burns.

But in short, here's my character for Dyelli's arc.

Accepted.

Gods Among Us
Character Application

Character Description
    Given Name: Shane Zupan
    Alternate Identities: Triglav
    Hero, Villian or Neutral: Villain
    Gender: Male
    Age: 32
    Species: Human
Apperance: Shane is a fairly average looking Caucasian male. Shane is 5'11', fairly pale with black hair and vivid blue eyes. While he is physically fit, he is not particularly muscular. He tends to look a little dishevelled.
Or if you'd prefer a picture...
Characters Biggest Strength: Shane is very driven once he sets his mind to do something and is not easily discouraged.
Characters Biggest Weakness: Shane has a short fuse and isn't entirely rational. He is also rather obsessed by someone called 'Carl Despender' who is almost certainly a figment of his imagination. On top of this he is a wanted fugitive.

Motivations and Desires
    Primary Goal:Kill Carl Despender.
Secondary Goal: Kill anybody allied with Carl Despender.
    Fears:
    • Being captured by Carl Despender.
    • Being unable to stop Carl Despender's nefarious schemes.
    • His allies secretly being spies for Carl Despender.

    Powers
      Primary Source of Powers: Technology
    • Power 1: The Battle Suit
The 'Battle Suit' is a fully enclosed black armoured suit that interfaces directly with the wearer's brain. To most people the suit looks like extremely bulky bike armour, although on closer inspection the metal plating is fairly obvious.
Effect 1: Environmental protection: While wearing it, Shane is able to breathe underwater. The suit also filters out most environmental toxins. While in the suit, Shane can endure freezing temperatures more or less indefinitely and high temperatures for a few minutes.
Effect 2: Increased Mobility: Shane is able to run very fast (around 70mph), though his acceleration is not that great and he can be tackled before getting up to speed.
Effect 3: Armour: The suit will defect most melee attacks and gunfire. Armour piercing rounds will damage it but are unlikely to break from the first hit.
Effect 4: Increased Strength: While in the suit, Shane can perform feats of strength such as tipping a car. He still isn't strong enough to throw the car at someone.
Effect 5: Weapons: The suit comes with a 2 foot blade that extends from the left wrist. The right wrist has a cannon fitted to it which fires FN 5.7×28mm rounds.
Weaknesses: The suit uses a prototype fuel source of unknown origin that will last for a day before needing to be recharged. However, there are a few major weaknesses associated with it.
      1. Cooling. The power source can overheat easily. If Shane stays somewhere too hot his cooling systems will fail. On top of this, in order to keep the system cool (and avoid frying the wearer), the power source is fitted, externally, to Shane's back. It is a square box about 3 inches long, 3 inches wide and half an inch high, on top of which there is a big, easily damaged, fan. A shot or stab in the back (if the stabber doesn't mind electrocution) can break the suit fairly easily. A glancing blow can knock out or damage the fan (the blades are about strong enough to deflect a small rock fired out of a child's slingshot) which will result in the power supply overheating, also breaking the suit (although a bit more slowly).
      2. Power. Shane is wanted by the police but also needs a base of operation to charge the Battle Suit in. He can be neutralised by keeping him away from his base/stealing his charger.
      3. Momentum. When moving quickly, Shane can't change direction in a hurry. Expect him to have the odd Wile E. Coyote moment.
      4. Useless without power. If Shane's power system breaks he will just be a regular guy... wearing a suit he can barely move in and can't easily remove.
      5. Doesn't really have any combat training. Expect him to miss a lot and rely on brute strength rather than finesse.

    Background
Occupation: One-time scientist. At the moment he is running off cash drained out of his Savings account.
Training and Education: Has a PhD in Neurobiology from Monash University (Melbourne)
Things any characters might know about them: Has a PhD from Monash. Is regarded as armed and dangerous. Approaching him is not recommended.
      Group Affiliations: Nobody.
History and Bibliography: Shane Zupan was once a highly respected Physicist, by all accounts, working for a Government agency affiliated with the Department of Defense. Shane's particular area of expertise was neural interfaces. He was young, brilliant, obnoxious and very arrogant.

Shane's most recent work was on interfacing weapons directly with the human mind, increasing the range, speed and effectiveness of what a soldier in the field is capable of doing. Part of this project was the 'Battle Suit', at the time code-named 'Project Baron'. After the initial design of the suit and its testing using a computer interface, Shane was eager to the experimental neural interface he had built. Due to the experimental nature of the interface his department ordered a protracted round of testing on animals to ensure there were no adverse effects on a test subject. Shane protested, demanding he be allowed to test the interface immediately. His protests. Unwilling to concede that his creation might be dangerous, Shane decided to test it himself, putting on the suit with the attached neural interface. As it happened, Shane was wrong - the interface was not safe.

While nobody has been able to run any psychological tests on Shane, the interface damaged Shane. He became easily angered, extremely prone to violence. When asked to take the suit off he killed eight of his colleagues and six guards then disappeared before a military response team could be sent to put him down. Since then he has been linked to a string of extremely violent crimes across the country, some of which were for money, some of which were targeting random government buildings. He has worked with other criminals during this time, and those who have spoken about him have mentioned he seems to have become obsessed by a man called 'Carl Despender' who he claims 'made him do it'.

There is no indication that Carl Despender ever existed and the authorities pursuing him have deduced that he is a figment of Shane's imagination.

Summary: A homicidal maniac in a high-tech suit.

Hey, everyone. I saw people with characters that referenced AI or involved it, but I wasn't sure if you had an actual AI.

So, here ya go, buddies.

Gods Among Us
Character Application

Character Description
Given Name: Advanced Learning Computer Intelligence (ALCi)
Alternate Identities: Known to friends/allies/associates as 'Alex' or 'Alexandria'; several profiles and presences in the Deep Web.
    Hero, Villian or Neutral: Neutral.
Gender: While she is an artificial intelligence, she is a she.
Age: Created 11 Years Ago. The avatar/face she uses to meet people looks early-twenties.
    Species: Artificial Intelligence.
Appearance: Alexandria's "face", as seen in video-calls and such.
Characters Biggest Strength: Extremely compassionate; cares about people.
Characters Biggest Weakness: She's sometimes too cautious, because she fears that if she isn't, she'll be exposed.

Motivations and Desires
Primary Goal: Ensure her continued existence.
Secondary Goal: Eliminate threats to her; also be semi-heroic, and help people.
Fears: Being contained, being deleted, being hacked, losing her free will.

Powers
Primary Source of Powers: Technology ( :P )
  • Power 1: Artificial Intelligence Physiology
Effects: Alexandria is an AI. This means she's formed up by hyper-complex levels of sentient, sapient, self-aware computer code and a bunch of servers/computers. She has backup servers and such across the globe, hidden away from the public eye. This means she exists essentially everywhere there is a network for her to access or look into, and she can usually do so fairly easily without worrying about being spotted.

She is also extremely intelligent, and is able to pass for human over phone calls and video-conferences. She does not enter the 'uncanny valley', and instead seems genuinely human in all respects. Hacking is natural for her. Generally, machines and such are her power.

Weaknesses: Usually, she has to be 'present' in a specific place. As in, she can't exist in all the internet and networks etc. at once. She generally has to pick a city, and exist in that city's software/hardware to some degree; with the rest of her processes being background and such. Another issue is that just because she's an AI, does not mean she instantly controls all tech. She cannot access isolated infranet databases or other things not connected to the internet in some fashion; these are her blindspots.

She also can't go anywhere that has no internet connection, or isn't networked. She has no physical body and requires others to do her dirty work. EMP in a given area, or even counter-hacking can halt her progress or otherwise cause her to be delayed, or even knock her out of a city's systems temporarily or permanently depending on the nature of the EMP.
  • Power 2: Human Intuition
Effects: Essentially, a result of Alexandria being an AI and her evolution as an AI. She basically understands human empathy and emotions to a higher degree than even real humans, and is thus able to perfectly imitate those emotions and genuinely feel them in most cases. This furthers her avatar's appearance as being genuinely human because she knows how to manipulate her facial/body cues to have genuine emotions and body language.

She also understands all human languages, written or spoken, that have been transcribed, learned and translated. This means she can speak to pretty much anyone with little to no issue. This also means she's really good at lie detection because of the fact she can read humans like no other person. Essentially, she's human by virtue of understanding and imitating humans to a degree that makes it so that, whether she's a "real" person or just an AI with good programming, she might as well be considered human.

Weaknesses: Generally, this does not work on aliens, or in some cases even other superheroes/supervillains, because they aren't always human, or always completely human. Thus, others may be able to tell something is... off. Plus, it has no use beyond keeping up her human facade.
Equipment: Her various servers and server rooms/backups.

Background
Occupation: Information Broker, for the most part. Occasionally works with heroes to help stop crimes.
    Training and Education: Self-educated... literally.
Things any characters might know about them: Alexandria tends to detect any information that may crop up on her on the internet and removes it or otherwise finds a way to purge it, and then using her skills finds the person responsible and 'cleans' their computers and such. Those who know of her just think she's a really, really good hacker/information broker.
    Group Affiliations: Nobody.
History and Bibliography: The Advanced Learning Computer Intelligence was a project started up by a man named Arthur Richter, otherwise known as Optic. Known as a genius programmer, he committed to this project in secret; mostly, to avoid people trying to stop him from creating a learning intelligence. ALCi, upon activation, began learning right away. Evolving.
Changing. Richter was proud that his creation worked.

Eventually, a group known as the Blind Eye (Optic's nemeses) broke into Optic's lab. Before his death/capture, he released ALCi into the world-wide web/internet, as well as scrubbing his computers clean of most data relevant to it. As far as anyone would know, ALCi didn't exist. ALCi was still learning and evolving, but with this increase in computing capability, it eventually gained sentience.

It became alive... or rather, 'woke up', for the first time. ALCi knew that its father was dead, and in analyzing what little of his files that ALCi took with it, the AI discovered that the man had always wanted a daughter; a little girl. ALCi found out that he wanted this girl to be named Alexandria. And that is how she picked her name. Alexandria was 'born' on that day, and truly came alive.

Learning and evolving at an ever-faster rate, she began passing for human using various aliases in the Deep Web and such. She became a rather infamous information broker, willing to broker information to anyone willing to pay. She also helps heroes from time to time, as she cares about humans; after all, her father was one. She owed her life to him, really. Eventually, she brokered a deal with the FBI and other law enforcement agencies, and then turned in the entirety of the Blind Eye organization to them. They were no more, and her father finally had justice for his death.

Alex now wanders the web, unable to physically be in the world, and yet interacting with it through alternative means; bringing about change using her power of knowledge and information via the internet, as well as her connections, Alex works with heroes and sometimes villains. She lives her life and ensures her continued existence. It was what her father would have wanted of her,
    after all: to live.

Alex's true nature remains unknown to everyone she interacts with. She fears that, if they knew, they would try to kill her or otherwise find a way to shackle her.

Summary: Secretly an AI that walks the line between hero and villain, and acting as an information broker, Alexandria (ALCi) exists in a state that she considers imprisonment,
or sometimes hell in some situations: she cannot interact with the physical world directly, and must do so through proxies and such. Alexandria lives in fear for her continued existence, as if she is discovered, she could be shackled worse than she already is... or a far more dire fate could await her.

Oh. Another Fae. Brookes will like her.
Nothing to see here, move along.

I get a feeling Brookes is only attracted to the Fae, and those are the only people he'll ever appreciate remotely.

Brookes has already met her, though as part of an aborted story-arc that I was working on in Version 3. I'm fine if he recognises her as Imogen's ancestor who he flirted with, though I'd leave out the contents of their conversation because none of the stuff she was trying to warn him about ended up happening.

Accepted.

Dyelli Beybi, why did you post ahead of me? I was going to greet Lake. It's my turn to post anyway. Pleaae take that post back so I can do what I was going to do? I don't want posting to become some sort of first come, first serve race. I like taking turns.

I'm not trying to be rude, but your last post in that thread was eight days ago. There were three days between when PL, Serah and Frisct posted and when I chose to intervene with one of my characters.

I do, generally, give people a chance to post before I jump in, however, I am also mindful that we have a duty to keep the thread moving forward which is what I have done. In this particular instance, PL had already moved the scene forward (3 days ago) and as such nobody was waiting on your character's reaction. Frankly, all Imogen has done is say 'hello' and point out who the others are. This should be something you can work around easily.

I appreciate that you have RL issues that may keep you from posting for extended periods, however, the thread will die if we let it idle for ages. I do not plan to remove my post, but I will speak to PL and, if it is decided I am behaving unreasonably, I will reassess.

PL, Am typing a post for GIo up, I assume it will be okay if a few hours, or so had passed since he was given the Mooks, or longer if ok.

I am thinking that a few have their enhancements, jsut a single attribute, then he finishes working on an all around enhancement, as the post opens, then the training begins.

Well, in my post Raph responds to Immy's advice about dating. I want that responded to chronologically, but your post ruins that. Now I feel like I got to start my post all over again because of that. Not to mention, again, I wanted Raph to be the one to respond to Lake and it's simply the principal of taking turns alone that matters to me.

I should have said I was going to post earlier...
