How are folks feeling about the city thread in general?
I feel were lacking a clear direction which is causing a lot of characters to flounder.
Does anyone else feel like we need a more concrete plot to move things along? I was thinking a sort of turf war in Red Hook where the Mayor is pushing the Knights into a war with the Hook and the meta-community there?
Or do we want to focus on Dyelli's plan for a team vs the Knights? Also where is the status on that?

Mateo is supposed to go to Spain. I don't know what to tell you, maybe Serah changed their mind.

We would never abandon Snakes Eyes or the Doctor but I'm trying to figure out what we should DO?

A character for Dyelli's team, when ever that is.

Super Identity: Rupture
Real Identity: Elinor O'Carther
Is real identity known to the public: No
Hero, Villain, Neutral: Neutral
Age: 21
Gender: Female
Appearance: pic
Group Affiliation: None Yet
Powers:Self Explosion: Rupture can turn herself into a living bomb by exploding herself and transforming into a sentient cloud of loose atoms which can reconstruct themselves. She can control how great her explosive power making the explosion weaker or stronger as desired, but she cannot exceed and explosion of 1000lb of TNT.
Equipment:Ambient Cloth: A light material capable of protecting against VERY small arms fire, it is designed to bond to her atoms when she explodes so when she recombines she isn’t naked.
Weaknesses: Cannot explode for three minutes after recombining.
After an explosion, she becomes incredibly tired and delirious for a minute.
When in a gaseous form she is sentient but cannot move or act. She is incredibly vulnerable.
Background: Elinor had a fair standard life in Las Vegas before moving to New York, the only really unusual thing was that he father owed one of the strips better off Casinos. But even then she had plenty of normal friends, normal jobs, normal romances, and normal problems. Things weren’t easy, but they were never really bad.
Perhaps the world was saving up its terrible horrors for her, because the experience she had on her way to New York would haunt her for the rest of her life. After getting a job in New York with a photography firm she decided to take a road trip and rive to her new home.
Along the way her car broke down outside Cleveland Ohio, she sought shelter with a kindly old couple but in the middle of the night the trio were set upon by a monster. One of the first victims of the creature that would soon become known in the media as the Superbeast Elinor spent the night in a terrible game of cat and mouse as the creature stalked her through the house and the nearby countryside.

All the tension build up in her body so that when a storm cloud gathered nearby her Meta-gene was trigged when a bolt of lightning struck nearby. Elinor detonated, her cells exploding and driving off the Superbeast before recombing. She was found by police and her story quickly spread nationwide and prompted a hunt for the Superbeast.

Elinor moved on with her life, she sought counselling and went to her new job in New York. But eyes have followed her, governments, terrorists, corporations and military groups. A girl that can detonate like a guided bomb? Who wouldn’t want her on there team?

Summary:A Trauma survivor whose brush with death unlocked their Meta-Gene granting her the ability to detonate her body. Now an known, individual to the government who fear what she could do despite her simple life and benign personality its only a matter of time before someone tries to rope her into something.

Powers:
  • Gut Feelings: Shanky almost never goes against his gut instinct, it's kept him from getting the chair in almost every murder he's committed. And it's gotten him away from scenes in which police were waiting. Despite this, getting riled up or overly bloodthirsty will cause him to ignore it,
    leaving him open.
Equipment: 13' Knife.
Weaknesses:
  • Due to his childhood, Shanky has a rather catatonic fear or both fire of any kind, and any body of water bigger than a puddle. In New York, these are rather high in supply.
  • Despite his obvious size and ensuing strength, Shanky doesn't hold a candle to the Metas of the world, he'll easily be stamped out by any should they come face to face. But up against any normal human he'll come out on top.
Background:Born in rural Alabama in 1970, William White was born the youngest of a broken household, his mother was a 'working girl', his siblings regularly beat him and tried to kill him a few times, his drunkard father also regularly abused him until his early teens. This stemmed to a fear of fire as well as an avoidance of any body of water larger than a puddle, and an absolute hatred for his family. He ran away at the age of 13 and stayed in one of the town's local churches until he eventually got a job as a rodeo clown.

His years working gave him a large amount of strength and stamina, and as he hit puberty he began to grow exponentially. Eventually the rodeo closed down and William returned home, to which he still wore his clown costume, he then killed his entire family with a knife he made in his spare time. Police found the bodies three days later in a state of decomposition, there were several chunks torn out of several of the family members not unlike that of a bite. Unfortunately it wasn't William who was suspected, another man was trialed and imprisoned in his place.

Six years later in 1992 a string of murders along the east coast were beginning to crop up, this time, the common place occurrences of CCTV placement allowed police to identify the suspect, A large man wearing his clown suit. A manhunt was enacted but despite the best efforts of the various US police forces and the FBI, the man has not been apprehended. He is currently wanted for 57 charges of Murder, and 48 charges of corpse desecration

Summary: Spooky clown, serial killer. They tend to go hand in hand these days. Despite looking outwardly normal, Shanky has an almost supernatural tendency to avoid traps and set ups. As well as a decent amount of strength.


Been meaning to get this out. If it's not too far out there, could be used for Dyelli's team.

I really like the idea. But could you just specify exactly his "Gut Insticts" work? Is it a kinda spidey sense? Just really good luck? Or an actual skill? Just so I make sure I understand.
Even if we don't use it for Dyelli's team I have a great idea of what he could be doing. :twisted:

Even if we don't use it for Dyelli's team I have a great idea of what he could be doing. :twisted:

Spidey sense. It's a sort of Meta-Human adaptation he got as a child, being able to tell when bad stuff was about to happen and prepare for it. It's a general sense of 'Bad stuff's about to happen' it's not a specific thing so he can't tell what exactly is gonna happen.

I think the Turf War plot arc would be a good idea, this way the Knights could enter to go to war(giving Crimson a chance to shine), the SS could enter to gain some ground in New York by acting as 'saviors' plus giving them some food, and anyone else could enter to try to protect people or do some general mayhem during the chaos. Overall this would give the two main factions a chance to RP, and everyone else would be given a good opportunity to enter while not forcing it.

I think we're going to have a time skip.
Partially to give Dyelli's characters a chance to recover and make allies and partially to give ample time for Crimson to be integrated into the Knights.

A question for Anowa. Will Atlas be returning to the thread? I ask because the Knights are getting quite large and I'd like to keep them at a reasonable size.
The Knights would normally in this situation move it's members around, they like to have teams of three, but I could see them having a team of five in New York.
I want to keep Snake Eyes, because of its a great character and it's the only one Flutters has.
I want to keep NUMB and Calamity because there veteran and it makes sense for them to stay.
I like Crimson, The Northern Mage and Atlas but I think we should limit ourself to only two of them in the NY branch of the Knights.

Is that alright? The Knights have lots of other locations and teams. (I'm considering a big meeting for all the Knights were we can meet every member and reorganize locations a bit)

Ugh...I still have manpower issues...
I mean sure, I can go on hiring all sorts of mercs and criminal gangs to do my dirty work but I sadly expect the Illuminati to have a massive home turf advantage over me.
And the NYMD? I seriously have nothing but a vampire and a cyborg here and pretty much no paranormal weaponry at all. I am in doubt if I can tackle a team of metas or magics in the US right now.
However, although the Illuminata have a home turf advantage, the idea of a proxy war sounds nice to me.
