- Flight: [Erik has the ability to fly without the aid of an external appendages. He has a take off speed of 150mph and can only reach supersonic speeds when flying for an extended period of time.]
- Energy Absorption: [Particularly the kinetic energy he generates while flying, Erik absorbs and stores energy within his cells, the higher the speed the more energy produced.]
- Energy Projection: [Erik can expel the energy stored within himself in the form of concussive blasts, the power of which varies due to available energy. While usually fired from his arms, the projections, usually a orange-reddish color, can be expelled from any part of his body, up to and including its entirety. He can also use the energy to form shields around himself, a method he uses in both combat and landing at high speeds.]

Personality: The cornerstone of Erik's personality is his obsessive tendencies, Erik refuses to stop working, fighting, or debating until his obstacle is overcome. As a result though, he's constantly sleep deprived and irritable towards both authority figures and friends alike. Erik is quick to question society as a whole but truely believes that people are inherently good, as a result he'll fight crime, but believes the military and heroes should never intertwine.
Biography: Paranoia and mob mentality are powerful things. For example, during the Second World War, thousands of Japanese-Americans were forced from their homes and into internment camps in order to "safeguard" the nation against dissent from within. Erik Akita's parents and grandparents were some of those people.
Their jobs, businesses, and lives all ripped away because of discrimination and hate. Hate Erik's parents were desperate to shield their son from; they enrolled him in a public school, spoke English as often as they could at home, and heavily invested in their pacifistic Buddhist faith, which Erik continues to be to this day. But he could never quite let go of his hate. Stories from his parents and, particularly bitter grandparents fueled his distrust for the government and military.
His duality of mind, in believing in the goodness of all living things and alternately the corruption of society, resulted in Erik becoming a social advocate in his youth. He attended every rally, protest, or gathering he possibly could, truely believing he was making a difference in the world. That all came crashing down when a protest for animal rights turned into a riot, not an uncommon occurance for the, at the time, boy, but this one turned particularly violent. The police were called and Erik was charged destruction of property, resisting arrest, and striking an officer of the law. He was later charged with a six month prison sentence in the Red County Penitentiary.
He never made it to prison.
While being entered into system, the DNA sample taken was leaked to an organization that had been monitoring the western seaboard for such a sample. Within his DNA was the dormant Metahuman gene, a gene they would attempt to exploit. In the coming months, this organization would have Erik in a cage and his friends and family informed that he had died in transit. It would be in that cage that Erik would be tortured, dissected, and tested in every possible way in an attempt to activate his dormant gene, and when it did, their efforts shifted to turning him into a weapon. The organization employed electroshock therapy, holographic simulations, and good old fashion neuralinhibitors in an attempt to make the boy compliant to their every command.
They crushed him, burned him, cut him open, and more, but they never broke him.
Erik bided his time, eventually escaped his personal hell, the details of which even he is hazy to remember, and began truely helping people in any way he could.
