My idea is to create a team called The Renegades. It would consist of at least seven heroes. Mostly, they would have left already existing factions/teams, but anyone can join.
DEFCON 5: Total Peace/Normal readiness
DEFCON 4: Increased intel/Strengthened Security/Above Normal
DEFCON 3: Increase in force readiness/Special Forces ready to mobilize
DEFCON 2: War Imminent/Entire Military ready to mobilize

When will the based OP/Co-OP's return from the null zone? I want to know if I'm accepted, and the longer they wait the more I can imagine them all conspiring to go "No! You're hero is garbage! Cast your hard work into the flames!"

Name: Harold Cage AKA Curtis Stone AKA sir Rodger Todd

Age: 30,000-200,000 (even he does not know how old he is, though he is atleast 44,000 or so, as that was when Cave Bears were last seen.)

Gender: Male

Race/Species: Human, of some kind.

Appearance: This, I couldnt find a good pic without them seeming to freakish, so hope the pic works. his hair color was Blond once, but he died it in the 90's.
Personality: Kind at times, Bitter, stern, doesnt tolerate failure and weakness.

Biography:
He was born to a tribe of Neanderthal's long ago in what would be known as Europe. He was larger than many of his kind and a successful hunter, He often went on hunts alone or with his brother. It was during one of these hunts that he was nearly struck by a meteorite, his people called them 'sky rocks'. He would not know until much later, that it was magical in origin. His brother was struck and immediately killed. The shock-wave of the impact launched him away, knocking him unconscious, he had been struck by shards of the 'Sky Rock' as well. While he was unconscious the wounds on him closed around the shards. While he was healed quickly he still would not wake. the shards had an almost Crystalline structure that changed his physiology as they were absorbed into him. He woke several days later, and headed back to his Tribe, saying his brother was killed and he had buried him.

It was only during a hunt for mammoths when he found out how he had been changed. They had been tracking the Mammoths for hours, finally corning the beasts in a mountain valley. They approached cautiously, for despite their apparent nature, Mammoths were dangerous foe for even the most veteran of hunters. As they approached the end of the Valley they paused as a thundering sound could be both heard and felt. It was a Stampede of the mammoths, something had spooked them. Most of the hunters had been able to dodge them all but the youngest and newest of the hunters. He pushed the young man away and was hit directly by the Mammoths. He was trampled on and pierced multiple times by the massive beasts.

After the Stampede had ended when the hunters went to retrieve his still twitching and barely breathing form, they found what had spooked the Mammoths. It was a rarely seen sloth of Cave Bears, They must have been disturbed by the Mammoths running into the Valley. Each of them was a massive beast that would easily dwarf most modern day bears. They attacked the hunters as they were dragging his body away. The Cave bears took his corpse to their den and ate him, or at-least tried to. Before the first cave bear could bite him, they instinctively noticed something different and left his body at the entrance to the valley. Soon enough his body seemingly healed and he opened his eyes, he did not quite understand what had happened to him, but was glad to be alive regardless. Soon enough after he recovered he headed back to his tribe. They did not accept him back due to the fact they saw him die and other superstitious stuff. They believed he was possessed by something when he went missing in his youth.

Throughout the centuries it would be much the same, though in the beginning he had to adjust to the languages, he learned them swiftly. Eventually he no longer needed to learn the new languages. Though he was continuously ostracized and driven off, he still held hope that he could find a place to reside. His way of thinking was changed during the so called Middle Ages, when superstition and prejudice ruled over most of the populace. He was a knight in England at the time, his strength and sized served him well. It was during a battle that his secret was found out. It was during the Battle of Crecy, a notable victory of the English over the French.

Although British Long bowmen did most of the work during the battle, foot soldiers were still needed, for morale purposes if not actual combat. It was not due to the French that he was injured but rather due to the efforts of a captain in charge of the Bowmen. The Captain was jealous of his prestige and reputation, so he had a few of his bowmen discretely target the area he was at on the battlefield. The bowmen were excellent marksmen, one arrow hit his left shoulder the other hit his throat. They used French arrows to make it look like the enemy had killed him. As he lay on the battlefield afterwards the captain came down and they found him unconscious but alive and unwounded, the arrows lay in pieces near him. The captain brought him back to their lieges castle, They tried to kill him due to the belief he was a demon but failed.

It was at this point that a reputed ‘sorcerer’ was employed to find out about him. He was tortured in many ways; his survival merely enforced their misguided beliefs. He did not know how long they tortured him, but he had no choice but to suffer through it. Eventually one family took pity on him and turned him loose. His last act of kindness was to not destroy the country he had helped to protect once. Since then he has been mostly quiet throughout history, slowly building up his strength. While he has not been noticeably involved, he has made marks in history. For a time he was involved with the Nazi regime in Germany. While he shared some of their sentiments they were too callous, and he left soon after joining. It is possible he inspired Hitler's UberMensch program and inspirations.

Currently he is known as Harold Cage, a rich eccentric man who is rarely seen in public.


Powers/Abilities:
He is also extremely strong, though that is more raw physical strength than actual powers.
  • Physical Immutability: He can be injured rather easily, and he retains the proof of those wounds in the form of scars or whatever. Injuries that would kill him outright seemingly heal instantly, or nearly instantly.
  • Enhanced mobility: When in motion, it is difficult to stop him. This does not include punching or other small body movements only if his whole body is engaged.
  • Supernatural Immutability:He is nearly immune to power negation and some forms of reality warping.


Weaknesses
  • Not that Unstoppable: While it is certainly difficult for things to stop him when he is moving it is possible. A sturdy or strong enough wall can put up resistance, He can also be stopped if he trips, or the like. He can easily be stopped by anyone who possesses above human strength.
  • Body is strong, Flesh is weak: While his body is strong in many instances it heals from non-lethal wounds extremely slowly. It also takes time for his body to recover fully from life threatening injuries though it seems instant. The more severe the injury the longer it would take his insides to fully recover. (How this works is like this: when he is say decapitated, his head will reconnect to his neck and the wound will seal. But he will have stiffness in his neck and problems moving it, same would apply for the other areas of his body should a life threatening injury occur there.) He also must eat copious amounts of food, and if he goes an extended period without food or drink, his body will start to waste away. He will not die, exactly, picture it as a form of hibernation where he is concious but not able to do anything.
  • Weak in Mind, Not in Body: While his body is nearly immune to physical effects, his mind is not. He is rather susceptible to emotion or mind altering effects. He can also be a bit unstable, so would you if you had suffered through what he has over the centuries. Due to this he is also extremely sensitive to pain, only when his skin is punctured however, even something as small as a papercut can be somewhat debilitating.
  • Supernatural immutability: While this ability is certainly powerful unfortunately it only applies to Magical means of power negation, not including the powers of another metahuman, unless magical in nature. However this only applies to his body not his mind. Basically as the power says, Supernatural, meaning of unnatural origins, meaning magic, If the means of power negation is technological it would affect him just the same.

Biography:Caroline was born on Pandora city, since childhood she had been interested in bikes, learning how to ride one without training wheels at 4 years old, her older brother who had always been a fragile boy, liked seeing her having fun riding her bike, a thing he did not have the strength and coordination to do and often brought her to the local park. When the Xantheian box first opened Caroline gained powers just like many villains, who used their powers to take over or create gangs through the city where they fought between themselves, in those conflicts many collateral damage was done to buildings and people, one of which was Caroline´s brother who lost the use of his legs when caught in the middle of a gang conflict.

Caroline knew that the police couldn’t stop all the infighting by themselves so she decided to help out, since she had powers too; partly in desire to take revenge for what happened to her brother and to clean the streets of the gangs to prevent more innocent people getting hurt. Her firsts attempts at clearing the streets usually ended with her returning home covered with bruises or even broken bones, but that didn’t stop her from fighting thugs after her injuries recovered, with time she learned how to use her powers offensively and gained experience in fighting in close quarters, eventually Caroline did manage to create a reputation with the gangs who now see her as more than an annoyance.

When the Xantheians invaded she was recovering from a broken leg, so she couldn’t be part of the force that drove back the Xantheians. She currently works part time as a housekeeper and studies a degree in mechanical engineering by day and by night she patrols the streets of Pandora city, looking for conflicts between thugs or petty thief’s. Her brother doesn’t know her identity as a vigilante, since Caroline doesn’t want him to worry about her.


Powers/Abilities:
  • Cold Manipulation: Caroline can decrease the temperature of what she touches and if the object Caroline is touching loses most of its temperature it will start to turn into solid ice, with this Caroline can make objects extremely brittle or hard.
  • Cold Inmunity: Caroline body has can resist extremely low temperatures
  • Fighting Skills: Caroline has been clearing the streets of thugs since she was 17 so she has gained experience in street fighting
  • Vehicle Intuition: Caroline is a prodigy in riding bikes


Weaknesses
  • Hot headness: Caroline doesnt like to pause and think preferring to do the first thing that pops in her head.
  • Touch: Caroline powers are touch based, so things she only use her powers with things she can grab.
  • Material: Caroline´s power takes more time to turn things into ice depending on the things the material is made of, metallic objects will freeze quickly and easily, things that absorb the cold better like plastic and wood take more time to turn into ice;living tissue with all the blood and minerals and cells that make it up is so complex her power doesnt work on it.

As Johannes Stahl: 198 centimetres tall, 104 kilograms, greying blonde hair that is parted to the right, startlingly blue eyes, grey stubble, arched eyebrows with a small scar on the left brow, light worry lines, square jaw, clearly well muscled under his typical dark red suit, with a white undershirt and black tie.

As the Übermensch: 230 centimetres tall, 560 kilograms, skintight black bodysuit worn under the armor, chrome face mask, with round apertures for eyes that are backlit with blue LEDs, and tubes on the front of the mask leading to canisters on the back of the torso, and ornamental golden moustache above mouth area. Chrome stahlhelm, emblazoned with a golden Reichsadler on the front, worn over the top of the head, and interlocks with the face mask so as to leave no skin uncovered. Rest of body covered in chromed armor with golden ornamentation, crafted in the appearance of a massive metal man, bulging with muscles at every anatomically accurate location. Toes on feet of armor are distinct, and movable appendages. Ditto for fingers on gauntlets. Large jets affixed to back of greaves, used for flight. One small 5.7mm submachine gun affixed to each gauntlet, derived from the mechanism of the FN P90. Each gauntlet is surrounded by many additional 50 round magazines that automatically eject from the submachine gun and rotate to reload, allowing a well maintained stream of fire. Each magazine lies parallel to it's respective SMG, and rotates clockwise.

Personality:
Johannes Stahl is a friendly, jovial man, quick to smile and shake your hand. He frequently bumps his head on doorframes, and is very gentle and quick to apologize. He speaks with a thick Berliner accent, and stumbles over English words. He is quick to duck his head when bullets begin flying, and tries to avoid conflict as much as possible. He enjoys fine beers, and spending time with his friends.

The Übermensch is brash and inconsiderate of collateral damage. He does not follow orders, nor does he issue them. He never backs down from a challenge, and never runs. He disregards those who he believes will not impede him in battle, and as such will ignore enemy soldiers even as they are peppering him with small arms fire, which glances off of his armor effortlessly. Similarly, he will never go for an enemy's family so as to deal a blow to the enemy on a mental level, as he believes that this behavior is beneath him. He barks his words through the voice-magnifying mouthpiece of his mask, a thick German accent tainting all conveyance of information. He is very prideful, and vain- scarring him or his armor is asking for a deadly battle.

Biography: In the year 1933, a baby boy was born in Berlin to parents who loved and cared for him. The boy was named Johannes, and his parents were Elisa and Gunther Stahl. He lived a charmed life, as the Nazi party was in power from shortly before his birth, and he grew to be a strong boy, of blonde hair and blue eyes. His parents, sharing these traits and both ethnic Germans, were in support of the National Socialist regime and what it had done so far. They wanted their boy to grow up in a world where he was in the political majority. At age ten, he enlisted in the Deutsches Jungvolk with the encouragement of his parents, as the second World War was raging and his father was fighting on the front himself. He worked cleaning tanks, and later, as the Soviets were entering eastern Germany, trained to destroy tanks, though he never got the chance. One day, before daily duties, his Deutsches Jungvolk unit was roused from slumber and was brought before a doctor, one Josef Mengele. He was selected, as well as several other well-built Aryan boys, and brought with the doctor to a bunker in central Berlin, where various medical evaluations and exercises were performed. The other boys were weeded out over time, presumably sent home, but were actually being experimented on by the doctor, dying from their tests and never being seen again. With Johannes the last remaining boy, he was led to the room that the boys were never seen leaving, and laid upon a bed. His arms and legs were clamped down "for his safety", and he was anesthetized. Before he awoke, the Soviets invaded the city, and Mengele departed for Argentina, taking Johannes with him while unconscious. He was kept unconscious, and for several weeks was fed through an IV as he was experimented upon by the doctor in his villa outside Buenos Aires. Eventually, he was roused from his sleep, and the doctor explained to him that the Soviets had overtaken Germany, and that Johannes has been forged into a new man to combat the Red Menace: a superman. He was noticeably taller, at that time over 6 feet tall as a 12 year old, and his muscles bulged under his skin. His blood was not his own, with his bone marrow replaced with a substitute synthetic marrow devised by Mengele: it fortified his blood, allowing him to heal at twice the normal speed and age at half the normal speed! He was educated and indoctrinated by the doctor in the following years, trained in military strategy, and taught history and science and arithmetic. He was also subjected to films and clips of Russian brutality, and molded to despise Communism. In the year 1970, Johannes being 24 biologically and 37 technically, as the Vietnam War was raging in southern Asia against Communism, he was determined to fight in it himself. He snuck out from the villa into Buenos Aires proper, multiple times, each time longer and longer. Eventually, he came upon a library, and stepped inside, electing to read from a history book about the life he left behind: Nazi Germany. In it, he discovered something peculiar and enraging: that Josef Mengele was a renowned torturer and mass murderer, responsible for the deaths of hundreds of Auschwitz inmates! This made him no better than the Communists, as he was taught, who slaughter their own people wantonly! Johannes was overcome with anger that he had never felt, at this gross injustice, and at being fooled for all these years, and immediately stormed home. He came upon Mengele while he was sleeping, late at night, and roused him from his slumber, taking him out to the pool, and brutally drowning him to death 9 years before Mengele's fated death in our reality. He inherited Mengele's wealth and access to Nazi gold, after the "accident", and promptly established a business as a front while laundering his funds and studying the doctor's notes. Over the next 21 years, he spent his time building a corporate empire, Stahlcorp, based out of Argentina, and growing very wealthy. Upon the collapse of the Soviet Union, he was reminded of Communism and it's evil, and decided to set to work stopping it, as well as other great international evils. He built a magnificent chromed suit in the shape of a massive man, made from a special titanium alloy, and thus a massive metal man was seen in different countries, day and night, destroying terrorist sects internationally and many factories in Communist countries, especially China. Thus, the Übermensch became known to the world, with his gleaming muscles and impartial expression contrasting with his brutal treatment of wrongdoers and inelegant capacity for destruction.

Powers/Abilities:
  • Genetic Modification!: Biologically, he ages at half the rate of a normal human. Additionally, his bones are stronger than tempered steel, and his wounds heal at twice the normal rate. However, this simply means that instead of 2 months for a bone to heal, it will still take 1 month.
  • Suit Mechanical Enhancement!: In addition to his already superb physical condition and strength, his suit's servos allow him to lift up to 100 tonnes, maximum, though at great structural risk and personal detriment. Comparatively, weights such as 2 tonne lorries are relatively easy. However, due to momentum, a moving 2 tonne lorry would definitely not be easy, especially one flying at him rapidly from another superhuman's hands. Additionally, the powerful jets on his greaves allow him to fly, though not sustained flight, but more in a fashion to long ranged jumps. The canisters on his back pump oxygen laced with special chemicals into his visor, ensuring that he is properly oxygenated no matter the environment, and also acting as a painkiller and aggression amplifier.
  • Wrist Mounted SMGs!: Combined, they have an astounding 1800 rounds per minute, reload in less than a second mechanically, and fire from 50 round magazines. They fire special HEIAP 5.7x28mm ammunition, and make up in volume what they lack in accuracy.
  • Incredible Wealth!: As the last inheritor and survivor of the Third Reich, he has secret possession of the vast majority of Nazi gold. He has used this to start a very well known arms manufacturing company, Stahlcorp, that sells to many of the world's special forces.


Weaknesses
  • Electricity!: Though the suit is highly advanced, and grounded, it conducts electricity very well! As such, he should be wary of lightning based powers while flying or otherwise ungrounded, as they could fry his systems and he would plummet to the ground, unable to move the heavy suit beyond a snails pace manually!
  • Communism!: While hearing of the Red Menace and being subjected to indoctrination by Mengele as but a pre-teen, he was subjected to the horrors of war against the Russians! Soviet imagery, Communist propaganda, and similar paraphernalia will most likely trigger his PTSD, rendering him into a fight-or-flight state, where he may escape like a coward or panic and start damaging friend, foe, and civilian alike!
  • Heat!: Though simple fire is not enough, beams of heat directed at his air canisters, or jet-boot fuel tanks may cause them to detonate, rendering him either painkillerless and vulnerable, or flightless respectively!


Equipment: High tech chromed suit of armor in the shape of a massive moustachio'd muscle man wearing a stahlhelm, wrist mounted SMGs, jumpjet boots, canisters that pump painkillers and air into his body.

Likes: Dispensation of justice, elimination of Communism, mid-20th-century paraphernalia, Germany, patriotism, honor, combat, winning.
Dislikes: Anarchy, Communism, modern culture, Russia, China, Vietnam, the former WW2 Ally countries, cowardice, cheating, boredom, losing.

Alright...what is this Renegades? I have a Dhampir, and old Batman-esque character, and a female Iron Man with no allegiance in a group for now, and I'm pretty interested to join this Renegades.

Faction Name: Supernatural, Extraterrestrial, and Extraordinary Containment Agency (S.E.E.C.A., more commonly referred to as SEEKER)

Location: Worldwide, but focused in Europe, the Americas, SE Asia, and the Middle East. Primary base (Base Alpha) is at Groom Lake, Nevada, United States of America. Major secondary installations are in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, United States of America, Klaipėda, Klaipėda County, Lithuania, Farnborough, England, United Kingdom, Triulla Atoll, Solomon Islands, The Alps, Bavaria, Federal Republic of Germany, and Hashima, Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan.

Level of Technology: Surpassing the rest of humanity slightly, but well below Xantheian tech.

By far the most advanced technology in SEEKER are bits of tech left over by the Xantheians, but despite extensive research use of the alien technology remains out of SEEKER's grasp for now. The runner-up is obviously the Crusader Powered Exoskeleton, but that technology remains in its infancy. Often overlooked but perhaps the most vital in SEEKER's success is the miniaturization of computers. This allows for everything from tablets as powerful as the latest desktop PC and the development of Shock Troopers' gas masks, which allows soldiers to receive real-time intelligence, communicate quickly and easily, and record everything in a mask-mounted camera, all the while protecting against chemical weapons and hardly hampering sight.

Faction Biography/Lore: SEEKER's immediate predecessors were the American Bureau of Extraordinary Affairs (BEA) and the NATO Extraterrestrial Command (EXTERCOM). The former was founded first, as the number of supervillains rose and law enforcement found themselves overwhelmed. The Bureau was moderately successful(ish), helping control mass panic in the form of press releases and finally shedding some light on the world of metahumans. It was disbanded as a result of the Invasion. EXTERCOM was an emergency measure for NATO in the face of the Xantheian invasion. Despite the best equipment and personnel NATO could offer, EXTERCOM was ultimately crushed like so much of the world's resistance. And then the Justice Queens rose and freed humanity.

With order restored in much of the world, the nations of NATO came together to discuss recent events. Superpowered individuals, aliens, all were becoming distressingly common. A top-secret meeting of major NATO defense officials in Brussels came to the conclusion that humanity had to fight back against the tide sweeping them away. An off-the-books, heavily classified agency designed to combat extraordinary threats was required. The result was the formation of SEECA, or the Supernatural, Extraterrestrial, and Extraordinary Containment Agency. Later abbreviated simply to SEEKER, the new agency made its home in Area 51, a legendary American military installation. NATO members covertly fund the organization, who has a ridiculous degree of autonomy despite technically reporting to NATO.

Population Size: 20,000 employees worldwide.

Army size: 2,500 field agents of various specializations. About 1,500 are Shock Troopers. Roughly 100 are Crusaders.

Additional information: Shock Troopers are the militant branch of SEEKER, specializing in taking down opponents with force.
Crusaders are the elite of the elite. Clad in prototype suits of powered armor, they are trained and equipped to take on almost anything.

Personality: Pragmatic, but fair. Stern but not without a sense of humor. He is not afraid to sacrifice men, but he never wastes them.

Biography: Johnathan Moore was born to a USMC Colonel stationed in West Germany during the height of the Cold War. As a child, Moore was often brought to HQ by his father, where he first expressed an interest in the military. This pleased old Colonel Moore, who wanted his son to be a Marine through and through, like most of his family. At the age of 18, John was shipped back to the States to attend the United States Naval Academy.

Four years later, Johnathan Moore was granted a commission as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps. Thus began Moore's service career. He fought in Panama, Iraq, Somalia, Bosnia, and Afghanistan. Along the way, he even found enough time to grab a wife and father two kids. After the opening of the Xantheian Box, Moore and his unit would be deployed to take down supervillains. Those would be quickly halted by the arrival of the Xantheians. A few intense but futile battles followed, and Moore and his unit were captured and placed in a POW camp.

The liberation was swift. But not swift enough. Moore had to witness most of his unit being brutally and slowly tortured. Only 23 soldiers remained when the Justice Queens liberated the camp.

After returning home, Moore planned to retire when a high-ranking US DoD official approached Moore with the offer of a lifetime: command of a government agency. The official would not specify further until Moore accepted. Shortly afterward, he found himself inducted as Commander of SEEKER and briefed on everything NATO had gathered about "extra-ordinary" people and events. That was several months ago.
Powers/Abilities:
  • Commander: Chief of SEEKER. Not a superpower per se, but still useful.
  • Linguist: Fluent in English and German. Proficient in Spanish, Arabic, Korean, and Russian.
  • Military Training: He's military. They trained him. Again, not a superpower, but useful.

  • Only Human: He is a regular human being. He has no superpowers.
  • Age: He's a middle-aged man, he is not in the best shape.

Personality: Stubborn and hard, but he would never order someone under his command to do something he wouldn't be willing to do himself. He will get his objectives completed one way or the other.

Biography: Robert Kenner was born in Saint Louis, Missouri, to a middle-class family with no real legacy. After an entirely unremarkable childhood, Kenner joined the US Army after graduating college. Not long afterward, he was recruited into the Green Berets, where he would spend the rest of his service days in the US Armed Forces. Like most US military units, he would be deployed against the rising tide of supervillains. After being WIA during a mission to halt one such supervillain, Kenner slipped into a coma. He was granted the Medal of Honor for his actions, but it was considered to be almost posthumous.

However, after the Xantheians were pushed back, Kenner woke up. After being nursed back to health, he left the Green Berets with an honorable discharge. One month later, he was scooped up by SEEKER's newly formed Shock Trooper Corps as an officer, where he remains to this day.

Powers/Abilities:
  • Commando Training: Trained by the best to be the best. Peak human condition and all that.
  • Weapons Expert: He can operate most weapons fairly easily.


Weaknesses
  • Only Human: He is a regular human being. No superpowers.

The Renegades will be an Avengers-esque team formed after the recent interdimensional invasion. They will operate much like the Avengers but would also operate outside of government intervention whilst respecting government laws.

Appearance: Humorless and frequently angry, most of Purge's pre-fire personality have been burned away. He is entirely single-minded, deiddcated to helping humanity as a species, no matter the cost. His frequent bouts of pain and agony prevent him from establishing a normal social behavioral pattern, leading to frequent friction with other Heroes, especially considering his zealotry and quick rise to anger.

Personality:

Biography: John was born to a rural, impoverished coal town in West Virginia. Despite labor laws, he was an effective child worker through his father's need for help, and suffered greatly in school for it. He barely passed with 2.4 GPA, and his life seemed destined for the coal fields. Television and social media and shown the world outside his hovel, making his grim future increasingly unpalatable.

Determined to change his fate, he enlisted in the US Army as a private, in infantry. He would have lived an unremarkable life, were it not for the rise of supervillains and the alien invasion.

He served with distinction against the supervillains, but as otherwise no different than the veteran of any war; to eventually be forgotten once they passed. The manipulation of the poor and innocent angered greatly; as did the ease of which his government proved itself impotent against their whims. He fought against any way he could, but the futility of it all implanted a deep, resilient anger in him.

When the aliens came, he was one of the footsoldiers sent to fight them. Whilst the heroines fought grand battles and won all the glory; he was left in the dirt, holding the corpses of his friends. The war was not won quickly, and in his many years of service, he saw himself deployed to barren hellhole in North Africa, where the aliens were believed to have a forward operating base.

The intel proved true; something was going on there.The aliens proved themselves prepared, and his men were forced to launch a prolonged offensive to take back the base, whose purpose remained still unknown. Thousands died, but the creatures were pushed back into the interior. As they entered the building, and began to prepare collection of research, the lone surviving alien soldiers decided to take revenge on the American soldiers.

Flipping some unknown switch, the base exploded in a fiery, horrifying blaze. The flesh of the soldiers was melted off, while their minds were frayed by the very presence of the flames, which seemed not of this world. They died an agonizing, painful death, as the fire took its time, crackling slowly into their body, whilst producing no smoke to give them the mercy of asphyxiation, as if it were alive. The fire had clearly been a weapon of war; how it was made, is still not known.

Rios was like the another soldiers, suffering unimaginable agony over a slow period of time. Strangely, and for reasons he could not explain, he never died. Though he laid there, completely insane from the pain and psychic energy of the flames, they nevertheless stopped at his muscles. Though his skin disappeared and his muscles were charred black, his eyes and other organs remained alive and functional.

His comrades, and their remains, were nowhere to be seen.

When he came to, he was still aflame. Yet he did not hurt, and his mind no longer in shambles. Through experimentation, he found he could manipulate the flames, blasting them in giant balls over miles, or in continuous, unending streams. Turning his weapons against the aliens, he found that not only could it burn them physically, but send them insane with images of pain. Physic defense could be damaged through burning just as physical ones could.

Even with the defeat of the aliens, however, his rage never ceased. The injustices and forgotten sacrifices of his friends left him with a continual hatred of the institutions that forgot them. He has, since then, focused on the reconstruction - violent if need be - of society to benefit the lower rungs of society. He has taken an almost religious zeal in his crusades, battling corporations, super villains, and at times, even fellow heroes, desperate to stop his zealotry. Nonetheless, he, and his supporters, see their movement as a force for good in the world.

Powers/Abilities:
  • Fire Manipulation: Purge can manipulate fire; he can fire massive balls like artillery, hammering locations, and he can unleash unending streams of it, similar to a flamethrower. He can stimulate currently raging fires or start new ones, as well as unleash explosions from his person, harming those close to him. He can, completely, control fire as an element.
  • Insanity Inducement The damage of Purge's fire are not solely physical. Anyone who makes contact with them, either through touch or psychic emanation, are immediately assaulted in the mind as well. Extreme fear rages through them, and it requires an incredibly disciplined mind to resist it for a lengthy period. The effect, however, are temporary.
  • Superhuman Strength: The fires have not only affects Purge through obvious ways, but their powers have surged his muscles and "skin" - giving him incredible strength and toughness.


Weaknesses
  • Water: Water is, of course, his primary elemental weakness; capable of limiting his powers and, in extreme cases, causing physical harm.
  • Rage Fuel: Purge gets stronger the more angry he gets; while this can help at specific points, hat it usually means is that his level power is dependent on how he feels at the time. Confidence and anger fuel him, but facing setbacks or unexpected complications can minimize his powers already further than they are.
  • Black and White: Purge has few allies. You are with him or against him; you agree or you don't. When with a team, his zealotry often chafes with team objectives and causes a collapse in whatever plan was hashed out before.

I'm not gonna accept or deny anything yet, just doing my rounds, but so far the apps I've seen here look fine, with a few exceptions. Icthyia, your character seems a tad dark for the OP's wishes. Shadowwell, you already know about the moratorium on villains, so I'll just say that I'll defer to the OP in this case. Boergandina, I like the application but the personality section confuses me a little, does Johannes have multiple personalities, or is the difference between his normal and superhero personas an act, and if so, which is the real one? Sivio, might want to hold off on that faction app 'til the team is established. Just some advice. There's nothing wrong with it, though.

I appreciate your attention, and willingness to help us fine-tune our applications!
It is indeed an act, as Johannes does not feel the pressure of society to maintain such things as manners while the Übermensch. He is a man who has seen much in his long life, and has been exposed to horrible things, and was raised under the Nazi regime- the Johannes personality is an act in an attempt to conform, while the Übermensch personality is both a reflection of his underlying impulses, and also a reference to Nietzsche's Übermensch, who is unaffected by the standards of others and free to act as he pleases. Thus, the Übermensch is able to do what Johannes could never hope to. In addition, the gases that the suit funnels into Johannes increase aggression levels, playing another part in the separate personality.

I know the announcement seems to exclusively address villains, but Star's post here extends to antiheroes as well. Furthermore, in personal conversations he has expressed dismay about the amount of pessimistic, edgy, etc. characters, as he had intended for this roleplay to be focused on heroic deeds and whatnot. This is the reason I'm bringing this to your attention. I'm not passing any veredict on your application yet, though (it does seem pretty well made, it's the morality thing that's the issue), and Star might show leniency on this.

Of course! Think of it as a less extreme, more boisterous form of the Hulk: not a force a team control's, but rather a living weapon they aim.

I understand, I personally do not enjoy white/black settings where there is no room for exploration of personal trauma or moral ambiguity. I generally wanted to focus on the character's struggle with his own past and anger, but I understand if the OP wants a more family friendly Avengers style RP, as those can be good too. I'll admit at the least, the graphic portion of the app can be changed to be more ambiguous.

I'll wait to see if he's fine with it and to what extent he wants moral changes. What I listed is fine but I don't think I could make an enjoyable character that doesn't have firm grounding in the struggles of real life. Again, that's just me and has no bearing on this RP.

There's nothing wrong with it, it's just that we've already got a huge number of those who are so dark and mysterious and edgy. Which more often than not don't come off that great because it's mostly like reading a Linkin park song. Something looses it's effectiveness when its done very often.
