You'd think that as a person who went through the trouble of signing up for this roleplay you'd at least have read the first post of the IC.

Funnily enough, doing that actually occurred to me too... Turns out the plot progressed a bit from there so I'm trying to gauge the extent to which it did

That's an entirely different matter for which the question "Is there something I can hit really hard" is hardly appropriate.
If you read the first post of the IC, what happened from there is that a bunch of people are fighting the Inquisitors, it is now night time, and a guy called Brain is trying to mess with the portal with mild success (he's also the dude who sent the telepathic call).

This is a weird RP, isn't it?

I'd guess something around 10-20 m/s? Fast, but not lightning fast.
And, as for the bat question, it would depend. Most of the time I'd say yes, since the shadows tend to 'harden' in order to interact with the world around them (I think of it as borrowing darkness from the Void Between Worlds to create 'hard' shadows) but some of the shadows (especially 'clothing' shadows) are literally just three-d shadows.

So question about Jas. I'm guessing the Old One is either trapped within her and actively fighting her to get out, or it's slowly infecting her.
Is this true or not? Your answer decides my route.

It wants to do its own thing, but she's usually dominant by quite a long way. It's only when she's pushing the limits of her powers, like she is now, that things have any chance of getting out of hand. It can fluctuate, though, just to keep things interesting.
Although, when she reacts to Steve's arrival, everything is going to get fucked up and she's basically going to go bipolar with her powers: either she's a blob of tentacles and everyone around her is getting the urge to kill, eat and screw each other while the shadows go crazy or she's barely able to create one tentacle.

Okay. I won't need to play the Tsundere card.
