Alright, the question of if there's something big to hit is not valid in determining the extent to which the plot has progressed, ten four on that. I appriciate that clarification, plot and otherwise, and will see if I can't hit that (Big/Head?) Inquisitor with something bigger.

Most of the time I'd say yes, since the shadows tend to 'harden' in order to interact with the world around them (I think of it as borrowing darkness from the Void Between Worlds to create 'hard' shadows) but some of the shadows (especially 'clothing' shadows) are literally just three-d shadows.

Well I can't speak for Spindel's OC , but Rei during the day can easily reach the sound barrier due to her enhancements add on the factor of nigh time or winter then she can pass it, by how much? I'm still thinking about that. But one thing for sure is that she can probably keep up with Speed Demon.

Although, when she reacts to Steve's arrival, everything is going to get fucked up and she's basically going to go bipolar with her powers: either she's a blob of tentacles and everyone around her is getting the urge to kill, eat and screw each other while the shadows go crazy or she's barely able to create one tentacle.
