Three questions.

1) Anything more you can say about their society?

2) Any way you can think of that he could actually communicate?

3) Would he be part of the quasi-hivemind, or no?

1) Their society functions similar to a Bee Hive, with nests being built in underground caverns which they expand or in artificial facilities on worlds that they share with other species (usually these are out of the way of the public eye). While each drone can communicate via translator with other species, they have no concept of names or individuality, only referring to themselves as "this one".

2) He could have found a translator that allowed him to communicate with the rest of the Brood.

3) No

All done

Postby The NAR » Mon May 30, 2016 7:48 pm

NS Name: The NAR

Character Name: Adrian Kenneth Maxson

Species: Human

Age: 27

Appearance: Here we are

Faction: Galactic Revolutionary Front (loosely)

Bio:

Adrian Maxson was born in Chicago, on the Human homeworld of Earth on August 20th, 3193. His father, Lawrence Maxson, came from a long line of military men that stretched back to the days when Locusts still terrorized the galaxy. The Maxson name can even be traced to the military of an old nation known as the United States of America that long before the Federation arrived, served as a Human superpower. Lawrence Maxson was a very respected, very accomplished Admiral in the Federation Navy who served exceptionally during the Battle of Earth that cause immense levels of death and destruction onto the planet. He led fleets, but was renowned for serving on the Front lines on the planet's surface. When offered a new home elsewhere, however, his father would refuse, and stay on Earth. As a child, Adrian would ask why, to which his father would answer "This is our home. We fought for it, and countless men died for it. I'll be damned if we leave it behind after all we went through". Adrian was raised to be a soldier - to serve the Federation, and after he turned 18 and married his sweetheart Alyssa, he enlisted with the Federation Marines.

He graduated boot camp as one of the most well-performing of them all - an amazing sniper and tactician. Much of Federation Military Command wanted him put immediately into advanced classes, but his father refused to do so. He wished to see his son become a warrior through combat, not through simulations. Adrian was placed in a unit under command of Admiral Fatima Maqsoud, where he distinguished himself during fierce combat with the GRF in the Fenris Cluster, on the planet of Fenris IV. After he and the other Marines in his division landed on it's surface, they were met with a fierce counter-attack that drove the Marines into retreat. In a scrambled retreat off-planet, Adrian was wounded and left behind - grabbing the sniper rifle off a dead comrade and holding off two battalions of enemy soldiers for two days and inflict more than 300 casualties while remaining undetected until the very end, when he was rescued by reinforcements who were sent back onto the planet when Admiral Fatima Maqsoud won the battle in space. Adrian was awarded the Federation's most prestigious military medal, sent home on leave where his wife would become pregnant, and six months later, was re-deployed with the Federation Marines' "Op-Six", a Special Operations Unit. He served in Op-Six for five years, gaining a total of 721 confirmed kills, when in mid-3218, he was part of a massive slaughter of more than 300 civilians on a small outer-rim colony.

It was the straw that broke the camel's back. He always had his doubts with the Federation and the current regime in charge, but bit his tongue through it all. Murdering innocent women and children, however, shattered his loyalty. Two weeks after the event, he snapped - brutally killing his commanding officer and escaping on a Federation fighter. He was chased by the Federation for weeks - almost killed by them, but escaped to Pirate territory where he joined with a group led by a The Mogh'keigh named Hieron. He was with the pirate group for many months, and while he was very quiet, he pulled his weight and most members respected him. However, after a large raid on a banking ship, Adrian made off with half of all Hieron's savings. He used this money to buy his own ship, along with weapons, armor, and other supplies. He named his ship the Ulysses, and it became both his home and best friend. Shortly after, he snuck his way back to Earth in pursuit of his family, only to learn that Federation agents had raided his home and taken his family, leaving only his German-Shepard whose name was Wyatt.

Adrian narrowly avoided being captured on Earth, and escaped with his dog back into space. He would travel to the territory under control of the Galactic Revolutionary Front, where he explained who he was. They threatened to kill him, but he offered them a deal: he would support them and their cause fully, if they helped him find his family. The GRF accepted this deal. For the past few months, Adrian has scoured the Galaxy carrying out the GRF's orders while also trying to find all clues he can about his family's whereabouts. Though, with the Federation on his tail and Hieron likely also out for blood, he does not know if he'll ever be able to see his family again.

Personality: Independent but kind, charismatic, not quick to trust anyone

Strengths: Amazing soldier and tactician, sniper and "lone wolf". Also a very good pilot.

Weaknesses: Virtually useless when using heavy weapons, no psionic abilities

Theme: Fantastic series, I highly recommend it

His father is about as famous as Patton or Montgomery would be, and thus, most people in the Federation know about Maxson and what he did. I tried to set up his backstory so that other people would know of him - setting up connections and the like ;)

Perhaps.

Though, Adrian is a little hard to get in contact with at the moment unless you're high up in the GRF since he's kinda on the Federation's watchlist now

My guy is an admiral in the Federation, and a member of the Federation's military council.

He could order a manhunt for Adrian in order to capture him.

It would depend on the Queen. Some are with the Federation, others are with the GRF, while a few are independent but small enough to be negligible.
