My two cents on the matter is that, yes, most people don't start off as the greatest, but so long as you're attempting to better yourself then I have no problem with subpar posts so long as they improve.

And yes Ubaria, I hate my own things a lot. It would take me days to get anything posted if I didn't force myself to go with what I got.

In an attempt to finally join an OOC discussion on here instead of lurking in complete confusion on what is going on here...

I have a similar issue, though usually my "long" posts aren't that great and end up just be me going on and on. Such as my first post on here where the first six hundred words are just me saying my character is shy...trying to work on improving that.

If my experience has given me any foresight, I'd predict that over the next 2-3 weeks we are gonna see about a 50% drop in active players. With less going on and a smaller group of more committed RPer's left the posts will get longer as things slow down and people have more time to post. That's why I keep my interaction with people a little low in the beginning as I like to take my time, and cant keep up with 2 pages of posts a day. So I just read to keep track of whats happening and jump in when I'm needed, which is about once a day.

So I expect that after a few weeks the quality will have made an upturn, with a sharp increase in post length as it begins to shift from an RP that revolves around more posts that are shorter, to an RP that revolves around less frequent posts of longer length.

I don't think its the shortposters tbh, I'd say it's the shitposting that's going on in the OOC.

I'm unsure If I'm still going to app up, couldn't get anything I was happy with up, but I think I've got something in the works, depends on how fast I can get something up for another RP. If the door is still open by then I'll get it up.

Half the time my posts are garbage in comparison to everyone else's mainly through poor writing, when I try and get feedback on how I can improve them and pick up the standard I get nowhere. I'd rather have people call out what's wrong (in a friendly manner) than have them praise what is right. But that's perfectionism I suppose.

Man, I remember when I was first starting to RP, and my very first time I accidentally screwed up. (I dont remember everything I did, but it was pretty minor.) Most of the people in the RP were very friendly and helped me to fix my mistake, but there was this one guy who just would not let up with the "You suck, leave the RP."

Anyways, I agree with you. Theres nothing wrong with mistakes when your first learning, and more people should be able to understand that. We were all newbies at one point, right?
