Gear up...Accessorize! (Alt Upotte IC thread)

Postby Finorskia » Thu May 12, 2016 11:37 am

Hastings Academy Combat Training Facility, Hastings England, 8:25 AM, November 15th

It was early in the morning on November 15th and MG3 was practically jumping with excitement. On Friday she had turned in her Hero's presentation on MG42 with the help of MG4. While the presentation had earned her some pretty nasty remarks from her classmates it had made M2 smile and that had been enough to restore some confidence in herself. It had restored so much confidence that the first thing she did after class was out was sign up for that Sundays combat. Normally she would have never been eager and willing to do such a thing but she was feeling so good that day that she did it without a second thought. Now she stood in the large staging area where about a third of the school was gathered to either participate or spectate in the days games having lots of second thoughts. Even though M2 had been approving of the presentation some of the students hadn't been quite as so and she was starting to worry about what they might think of her if she lost control. It'll be fine if you just keep your cool MG3, she thought to herself. But what if you can't, a voice in her head seemed to say. Maybe it would be best if i just quit...., a loud whistle sounded throughout the staging area as M2 walked up onto a small stage with a microphone.

"Ahem," she began by clearing her throat. "Good morning students," she spoke into the microphone receiving a resounding "Good morning Miss M2," from the gathered students. "I hope you're all looking forward to today's weekend tournament," she paused and the crowed cheered to show their enthusiasm. "Glad to hear it," she replied to the crowed. "Now, today's event will be two vs two single elimination even't. Today's engagement fields will be the Town, the Farm, and the Glade. Victory conditions are team elimination or flag elimination. Gear requirements are unrestricted," there was much cheering at this. M2 smiled a bit before unfolding a piece of paper and continuing on. "Ahem, I will now read off today's teams. Team 1: K11 and M36A1. Team 2: SCAR-H and RFB. Team 3: XM8 and SR-47. Team 4: MG3 and MG4. Team 5: M416 and M27 IAR. Team 6: R700 and G41," she continued on reading off several more teams that would be participating in the days event. When she had finished M2 folded the piece of paper back up and put it in her pocket. "That is all for today's teams, you all have one hour to find your partners and prepare yourself for today's event," with that she saluted the students and walked off the stage to join the other teachers.

As M2 spoke MG3 became more and more nervous peaking with a loud gulp of worry when she began to read out the team parings. However, when it was revealed that she was going to be fighting alongside MG4, MG3 nearly jumped up and punched the air. With new found excitement for the days event, the moment M2 finished speaking she ran off to find MG4.

Remington 700PSS
The police sniper rifle can only give a small sigh.

A lot of these rifles are assault rifles or battle rifles, better rate of fire and more suitable for spontaneous combat situations. Not to mention that the longest shot I can take with confidence is about 450 meters out, although I know I can be just as effective as military sniper rifles.... The only difference is training on my part..... Thought the high schooler, once again giving a slightly defeated sigh, at the same time thinking of various tactics against potential oppositions. Of course, the least ideal of scenarios for him would be in a purely close quarter combat, where he would only be able to maybe get a shot off before taking incoming fire. Although, thankfully he has some experience with moving with a unit.

"Shortest shot a police sniper was five yards, at best I'll need her help if it ever comes to that...... And I suppose I should wish good luck to 416." Remington 700PSS muttered out loud to himself, before moving about the crowd in order to search for both G41 and M416, funnily enough, both were German rifles.

"G41! Does anybody see G41?!" Yelled Remington 700, before noting himself that he'll have to break out his old police gear and to attempt to persuade to spend some range time before the first matches.

XM8
XM8's ears perked up when she heard that she was going to be paired up with SR-47. SR? Oh yeah, from the lunch table! she remembered. The assault rifle had hoped she would be paired up with K11, who she thought would have packed an immense wallop with her dual grenade launcher/rifle capability. Probably for the best anyways, I need to show off what I can do also! Just wait, K11. You'll see. XM8 was standing towards the back of the crowd of students, and she started to scan over heads for the cat eared and tailed rifle as soon as Ms. M2 left the stage. Finding her wasn't too hard, and she made her way over to SR.

"SR!" XM8 smiled, clapping SR-47's back. "Hopefully you're an awesome shot. Let's win this!"

RFB

RFB was just barely hearing Ms. M2 calling out the teams. She was still thinking about the movie that she and SCAR went to watch on the 11th. Even though it had poor character development, questionable plot devices, and especially questionable special effects, RFB still enjoyed spending time with her new best friend forever SCAR. RFB smiled a little as she recalled herself laughing so hard at the antagonist's death scene she sprayed soda all over SCAR from her nose. Ah, fun times, fun times.

RFB's ears picked up the name SCAR though, coming from the mouth of M2. Grinning wildly, RFB quickly shook her fist with a quiet "Yes!". They were going to be on a team together. As soon as M2 left the stage, RFB bounced around trying to find SCAR.

Like her sister MG4 was positively excited. She was glad to see MG3's spirits lifted over her presentation, even if some other students had tried ruining it over the material. She was a little apprehensive about the match up however. Two machineguns didn't provide as much versatility as two rifles and she didn't want to fail MG3. As it was between her shooting and MG3's rate of fire they could think of something that would work. Spotting her sister MG4 made her way to the venerable machinegun. "Over here MG3, ready to win this."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
G41 wasn't as excited about the combat training as her younger big sis was. She had hoped that she would be put with one of her sisters like XM8 or 416. She didn't like shooting at her sisters if she could help it, even if this was simply training. At least she was with one of the more responsible students, though part of her wondered if R700 was put with G41 to keep an eye n her after the AEK-971 incident.

"Over here 700."

SR-47
"I'm more accurate than any 7.62mm AK, so on it." Replied the cat-eared rifle, giving her a confident smile, then giving her a thumbs up.

Suddenly, something came into mind. "Hey, XM8, do you mind if we go by the gun shop? I'd like to pick up some gear from there, maybe you'll find something that falls into your sights, something like a suppressor or rail system and whatnot. You see, I've had my eye on getting a SOPMOD Block I kit for awhile now and some RPK magazines. So what do you say?" Inquired SR-47, looking straight at German assault rifle, while glancing in the direction of the store.

Remington 700PSS
Going over to her, 700PSS gave her a small how upon getting there. By this point in time, the police rifle had gotten more serious than how he initially began, mentally preparing for what to come. Going over the previous experience he's had to fire in the hands of police snipers, there wasn't really a lot to talk about. Except that it was tense, prepared to take a life to save a life, while waiting for the order to fire. The true negative about the training his been mostly exposed, the majority of his shooting were reactionary.

XM8 had heard much about the infamous inaccuracy of Kalashnikov rifles, but SR's confidence stripped away any thoughts XM8 had on her inaccuracy. When SR mentioned something about picking up gear, XM8 pursed her lips. She never had a flair for the gun shop, walking by it once or twice doing window shopping. She already had an integral red dot sight that was perfectly serviceable, but the thought of going against K11 troubled her. Going up against such firepower surely warranted similar firepower on her part.

"Don't worry, I won't let you down. I never fail to please," XM8 replied with the same aura of confidence. "And sure, let's pay a visit to the gun store. I'm not sure if they will have anything for me though, I was developed before the age of Pitcatinny rails and stuff like that. They do look cool though..."

SR-47
"Can't you be adapted to use rails of some form though? Hmm....... Don't PASKAL operators who use you have rails on it?" Inquired SR-47, pursing her lips as she wondered. Because in her mind, most developing and developed countries Special Forces Operators' primary arms typically have rails or attachment point on them, even the older AK series had the side mounted scope rail for something like that. Thinking about it more, the Knight's Armaments rifle continued to ponder about the subject, even coming up with possible alternatives. While on the subject, SR-47's thoughts began to drift in a different direction as well, imagining the configurations she could take for the matches, but shakes her head and returns focus on the German-American rifle.

With a shrug, SR-47 suddenly grabbed XM8 by the wrist and guided her out of the crowd, going in the direction of the shop. A smile on her face, the American assault rifle turned her head and gave that same confident grin from earlier. "Even if you can't accessorize yourself the same way weapons with picatinny rails do, I'm sure you'll find something of use to you." Said SR-47, prior to letting go of XM8, noticing of how it can lead to a misunderstanding.

Nevertheless, she meant what she said. After all, a rifle that was once a candidate to replace M16 and M4 in service with recognition to boot, can't be a bad weapons system. Thought in mind, they would arrive at the store in a matter of minutes, SR-47 would disappear into the store, looking for what she wanted.

SCAR
Despite listening to Ms. M2, SCAR would not be able to entirely make out the teams, although some distinct names here and there sparked in her mind, and she would have a slight idea for who she'd be running up against. However, almost nobody would be able to mistake SCAR, since, well, she was the only weapon other then her little sister whom possessed anything similar to that name. Thus, she listened extra-carefully this time, making out what sounded like RFB's name. What a coincidence! SCAR remembered when they went to the movies a few days ago, just for the fun of it. Since then, SCAR had been hanging out with the bulpup more oftenly, having made a new best friend, and not someone where she'd simply smile, greet them, then continue on her day. It was quite nice, actually. Like RFB, SCAR remembered that one particular scene of the movie, where the antagonist met their fate, and in sequence remembered how she got sprayed all over by soda. She smiled a bit at the thought. It was probably a good thing that the Battle Rifle was quite reliable, otherwise, SCAR might have needed to bathe several times longer then most of the other conventional weapons at the school.

She'd then glance around quickly, looking for her teammate. Despite the massive crowd of guns from all around, SCAR found it quite easy to spot what appeared to be RFB, happily jumping around, presumably on the prowl for the U.S Marine Battle Rifle. SCAR would give a big grin and wave with both of her hands, completely ignoring the fact that her surrounding peers may look at her funny. "Hey! RFB, I'm over here!" she'd yell out to her fellow medium-caliber rifle, that big, intent grin visible, as always.

K11
K11, in the meantime, would have put her full attention on Ms. M2, due to being taught the ways of modesty, and respecting those older then herself. She'd listen to every word that the iconic machine gun spoke, making sure not to miss any details, so that she'd know whom she was up against, to at least formulate makeshift strategies. The first thing she heard however, shocked her quite a bit, her own team placement. She hadn't done much studies on the special operations rifle, only familiar with the mainstream weapons, and occasionally some of the less popular weapons of the world. Thus, this made her slightly nervous, as she didn't even know her own ally that well. Oh well, at least it'd be a learning experience, right? is what the Korean thought to herself. She would shyly look around, still listening in on the announcements of the teams that Ms. M2 was making out. It appeared to her that K11 would be running up against some highly advanced and revered opponents, before she caught a mention of XM8, the girl who she sat next to in lunch, that tried to actually converse with her. The OICW system had not delved deep into the development of the advanced, would-be replacement for the fabled M16s for the U.S Army. Just like M36, this would possibly be a learning experience as well, and these things managed to soothe K11's mind slightly.

After Ms. M2 was done announcing the teams, K11 shrugged simply when she heard equipment was unlimited, despite all the cheering. Soon after the many students began moving, the rifle herself silently wandered off to find her temporary ally, occasionally asking if others knew where the spec ops rifle was. K11 would finally get to meet a weapon that she had almost no idea who she was, which was quite exciting and nerve-racking to her, even if she would definitely learn a few new things, today.

I just hope what I brought will be enough she thought as the backpack she was wearing bounced and clanged with every step.

"I am ready to win sis," MG3 began once she was within non-shouting range. "I just don't see how we can. Look at all the other teams, almost all of them have a grenade launcher or something. All I brought was this," she removed the backpack and and unzipped it showing the contents to her sister. Inside were four extra barrels, two 125 round box magazines and two 50 round drum mags as well as two 100 round loose belts. "Do you think this will be enough for us to win?"

No, I don't need anything. Besides If I start adding stuff I turn into my TGS variant, and you remember the last time that side of me came out." It wasn't that G41 was ashamed at what had happened the last time, that Russian definitely deserved it. But there was a time and place for that side of her, and the tournament was neither the time nor the place.

MG4 did her best to hide her shock as she watched MG3 pull out an infantry platoons worth of ammo. She herself had attached a ACOG scope to her rail system along with a fore grip and aiming laser. In addition she had a spare barrel and three 200 rd box mags.

"Relax sister. Remember, its not the size of the stick that matters, its how you use it."

Avto stood apart from the other students, drinking down yet another bottle of sweet clear water to keep herself hydrated in these conditions, her attention paid more to her cell phone than to Miss M2. She only snapped to attention when she heard her name, alongside that of VKS. A smirk crossed her face, VKS was not a Soviet, but he was the next best thing, a comrade of the same motherland, someone who would understand her and who she could win this competition with. She snapped her phone closed, putting it once more in a plastic baggie as she put her mind to tactics for a Sniper Rifle and Underwater Rifle to use together. From her backpack she pulled another bottle of water, dumping this one over head to thoroughly soak her already most clothes, water and moisture were essential to keeping her functioning for more than a few clips after all, VKS would have to deal with it if he didn't like water himself.

"Comrade Vykhlop?" asked as she found the sniper rifle in the mass of bodies, offering him a smile as she pulled one shoulder strap off her backpack, rather carefully pulling it off one shoulder to grab another water bottle for herself, and examine the ammo she had packed. She showed him the variety of rather terrifying spear like rounds she fired, along with ones with small rocket charges in them, a total of eight clips normal rounds, four clips rocket rounds. She then nodded a little to him "Avto, Underwater Assault Rifle, at your service." offering him her free hand to shake.

XM8 did not expect SR to grab her by the wrist. The moment SR's hand was clasped around her wrist, XM8 started trying to wiggle it free. Her sisters, older and younger alike, were always doing this, as if she needed help or something. She was glad when SR abruptly let go of her wrist after she mentioned something about finding an item that could be of use to her.

"Around the time I was made, Picatinny rails were starting to become the rage," XM8 replied. "I do have this thing called Picatinny Combat Attachment Points, or PCAP, instead of the MIL-STD-1913," XM8 held out her hands and her rifle materialized seemingly out of nowhere. Using her right hand, she pointed out the small oval round holes in the foregrip. "I can put some stuff on it if I wanted to. But it's like backwards compatible with the MIL-STD-1913, I would have to get an adapter. But think my integrated 3 in one 1 sight serves me more then well." Demonstration shown, the gun disappeared, and XM8 put her hands in her pockets.

Once the two arrived at the gun shop, XM8 went her own separate way as did SR-47, presuming they would meet up at the register or bump into each other in the aisles. XM8 walked around, browsing the store. As she walked, she hoped that SR would find what she needed and soon the two would begin formulating a plan on how to get the best out of them.

SCAR
Despite listening to Ms. M2, SCAR would not be able to entirely make out the teams, although some distinct names here and there sparked in her mind, and she would have a slight idea for who she'd be running up against. However, almost nobody would be able to mistake SCAR, since well, she was the only weapon other then her little sister whom possessed that name. It was probably a good thing that the Battle Rifle was quite reliable, otherwise, SCAR might have needed to bathe several times longer then conventional weapons.

She'd then glance around quickly, looking for her teammate. Despite the massive crowd of guns from all around, SCAR found it quite easy to spot what appeared to be RFB, happily jumping around, presumably on the prowl for the U.S Marine Battle Rifle.. SCAR would give a big grin and wave with both of her hands, completely ignoring the fact that her surrounding peers may look at her funny. "Hey! RFB, I'm over here!" she'd yell out to her fellow medium-caliber rifle, that big, intent grin visible, as always.

RFB

RFB got very excited when she saw SCAR jumping waving around. Dodging a few more guns, she launched herself into the air a few feet away from SCAR and tackled hugged her on impact. SR-47
For SR-47, being in the accessory shop was similar to a kid lost in a candy shop. In essence, it was a dream come true for her, not to mention, she has enough cash to buy a substantial amount of accessories. The first thing that she looked for was RPK magazines, which she swiftly found and bought three magazines. Next, she roamed around the store searching for a SOPMOD Block I kit, finding it less than about two minutes or so. And with that, it should be all that she needed to buy.

"Let's see, the 40-round magazines should help with firepower. I already have a suppressor back in my room, I just need to borrow a bipod from Harris. Everything else should be in the kit." Muttered the assault rifle to herself, as she wandered over to the counter and handed them over to the cashier. Displaying the money, the cashier scanned the items, while 47 waited for the process to finish. "XM8, I'm done!"

M27 Infantry Automatic Rifle

The announcement that M27 was being paired with 416 was mixed, in the Automatic Rifle's eyes.

On one hand, they were sisters, so the duo would know each other's strengths and weaknesses. Both were excellent assault weapons, versatile, reliable, and portable.

On the other hand, 27 was stuck with the Sauerkraut. That wasn't causal racism... okay, it was, but that's not the point. For one thing, M27 was, herself, German. She spent most of her life in the United States, but she was first made in Germany. HK416 (M27 wasn't sure where Miss M2 had pulled the "M" designation from. As far as she knew, only she had been adopted by a branch of the United States military) was always infuriatingly uptight in that distinctly German manner, thus, she was "sour," and she was Deutsche, thereby making her technically a "Kraut." Thusly, M27's older sister was a "Sour Kraut." Sauerkraut. Boom. A hilarious pun.

At least M27 thought it was hilarious. Pretty much no one else did. She had told and explained the nickname to one of her cousins, G11. G11 had given the IAR a funny look and replied "Was ist los mit dir?" See? M27 could interact with her fellow German weapons despite having been in America for most of her life.

But the current primary objective was to find HK416. And after a minute of wading through the crowd of students, her target was located. M27 quickly shifted to a strategic position behind 416. Her presence remained undetected. It was then M27 went into full Marine lingo.

"This is Mike Too-Seven. Moving in to November Tango. Oscar Mike." M27 whispered into an imaginary radio. The gun immediately to her right gave M27 an odd look before shuffling slightly farther from the crazy student in the Marine jacket who was talking to herself. M27 did not notice. She was zeroing in on her target. Contact in Five. Four. Three. Two. One. Attack!

M27 leaped out of her semi-crouching position to directly behind her sister. Her left arm grabbed 416 in a necklock while her right arm delivered a noogie.

"Hey, Sauerkraut!" M27 cheerfully exclaimed, still noogying 416, "We're in this together! You ready for this, sis?"

"But?" MG3 said confused. "I just though since," she glanced at her sisters upper tactical rail. "Since I don't have the ability to mount any kinds of attachments I would just do what I'm good at," she looked away from her sister and towards the ground fidgeting with her hands. "Which is putting lots of bullets down range," MG3 frowned, a bit ashamed of herself. She had wanted to impress her younger sister with how good she could be at something, and instead had ended up embarrassing herself. "I just...I don't know what else I should do?"

"A pleasure to meet you comrade APS, Vintorez has told me much about you," VKS replied taking Avto's outstretched hand. "I honestly would not wish to be partnered with any other gun here today. Ah yes I have done my homework and I am aware of your range short falls but in today's scenarios I imagine those will work more to our advantage," he said in a reassuring tone. "Think about, they won't expect you to be much of a threat so they'll be focusing on me, I'll play the distraction and you ambush. Such a tactic would surprise our enemy and show them that you are just as capable as any of them," he smiled at her and pumped his fist in a confident 'we can do it' manner.

The moment M2 had announced that 416 would be paired with M27 her heart sank. It wasn't that she disliked her sister or was worried that being paired with her would hurt her chances of winning. In fact she was glad to be partnered with a gun who she would pair well with in combat. The problem wasn't her sister's skill, it was her rather odd mannerisms, strange humor, and complete lack of professionalism. 416 new her sister could do well and had even promised the family to get M27 into the disciplinary committee, but no matter how hard she tried her sister always refused. 416 however was determined, and would not cease until she had converted her sister to being a proper and professional firearm like all the other members of the HK family.

"That's it," she confidently slammed her right fist into her left hand, getting the attention of the people around her. "The moment I find her I will finally show M27 what she can do when she acts profe...Kyaa!," at that moment 416 was tackled from behind and thrown into a rough noogie by M27.

"Hey, Sauerkraut!" M27 cheerfully exclaimed, still noogying 416, "We're in this together! You ready for this, sis?"

"Uh y...yes," 416 stammered her heat still racing from the sudden attack. "Would you um mind please letting me go now," she asked politely trying to regain her composure.

Immediately behind SR-47 in line was M2, holding a rather fancy pair of binoculars in her hands. and looking like she'd rather be any place but in line. Once SR-47 had finished paying the cashier said thank you to the two AR's and moved on to M2.

"Morning beautiful," the cashier said suavely while eyeing the heavy machine gun up and down. "Man," he said under his breath. "Browning sure did do a good job on you."

"Christopher," M2 replied without meeting the mans gaze as she placed the binoculars on the table and began rooting around for her wallet.

"I thought I told you to call me Charlie," the cashier, named Christopher, reminded M2 rather annoyed. The heavy machine gun looked up from her wallet and glared at the man.

"Where's Phil?" M2 asked with a slight tone of annoyance.

"He has the day off," Christopher smiled in reply.

"Hmm...why does it feel like every time I'm in here he has the day off?" she snarled.

"Must just be coincidence," said, though he looked away as he did so. "Anyway what do you want to buy toda...," he looked down at the binoculars and frowned. "Didn't I sell you a pair of these just last week?" Christopher said with a sigh.

"You did," M2 replied with a slight hint of shame in her voice. "But M1911 borrowed them for one of her elementary school 'expeditions' and I never saw them again."

"I see," Christopher said as he rang up the binoculars. "Does she steal your stuff often? That'll be three grand," M2 nodded in reply as she handed over her card. "Well don't lose this pair alright. Do you want a bag?"

"I'll try," M2 sighed as she shook her head. Christopher shrugged and handed the HMG the binoculars. M2 finished putting her card back in her wallet and her wallet back in her pocket, and then took the binoculars from the cashier and then turned to leave. "Besides," she said. "If my sister steals this pair I'll probably kill her," M2 smiled at the Christopher and then began making her way towards.

"I see, well have a nice day. Come back again sometime," Christopher shouted after her.

"How about," M2 stopped in the door and turned to face the man. "No!" and with that she turned and left the store.

"God I love that gun," Christopher said with a sigh watching the HMG leave.

After leaving the store M2 walked along unpacking the binoculars from their box and attaching them to a lanyard before finally hanging them around her neck. M2 finally arrived at a large observation tower which she quickly climbed. At the top was a sort of judges table. Seated at the table were Owen and Mosin-Nagant. M2 approached the empty seat next to Mosin and sat down.

"M2," Owen pouted, practically lying on the table so as to see M2 from around Mosin. 'You didn't use the team names I came up with."

"Of course not," M2 replied as she checked to make sure her binoculars were working. Owen frowned and looked forwards resting her chin on the table. "And Mosin," M2 looked at the old Russian rifle. "I respect you, but you can't honestly think these team parings are good for the students do you?"

"Of course I do," Mosin replied. "each of these teams has been constructed in a way to allow each student to learn from the their partner and grow. Weather it being, humility, confidence, or just simple work ethic each student has something to learn from the other," Mosin looked over at M2. "There is a reason SMLE put me in charge of team composition." M2 looked down at the team roster and pondered what the old rifle had said before nodding her head in understanding. Mosin smiled slightly and then went back to filling out the first round bracket.

Why do I get the feeling I'm the bait?" G41 said somewhat dryly. "We're probably better off going with defensive tactics, or at least you providing overwatch for me if we have to go defensive. You pretty much outrange everyone here besides that Russian 50.cal." g41 looked over the teams again. "It could be worse, at least we compliment each other and cover each others weakness's."

MG4 could see the worry in her half sister. It was something she still never understood about MG3. her sister had over 50 years of combat experience throughout the world. She had no reason to be so scared. that was MG4's job, she was the rookie here, the untested one." Well start with defensive tactics, especially if we're in the city. No sense trying to get into a fire and maneuver fight with a couple of assault rifles if we don't have to." MG4 looked down at her feet. "Other then that I'm not really sure."

MG3 got even more nervous when she heard that her sister barely had a plan. The GPMG had been counting on her sister to carry them through, and now that she had shone that she didn't really have a plan MG3 was starting to panic inside. If MG4 had no real plan then they were doomed to lose early on and then. Maybe it would be best if I just quit. She thought to herself as she turned her back on her sister. As she did though something caught her attention. There standing before her was a glimmering woman. The woman was tall with pale skin and long white hair and dark red eyes that pierced the soul. Two white wolf ears adorned the top of her head and a large wolf tail was sticking from her backside. For MG3 it was the unmistakable figure of MG42 and the expression on her face was one of sheer annoyance and contempt. MG3 rubbed her eyes to clear them and make sure she wasn't staring at an illusion. What else could the image be, it certainly couldn't be MG42, and it was certainly glowing enough to be an illusion or hallucination. MG3 removed her hands from her eyes, but MG42 was still there, and she was swinging her hand right at MG3's face. SMACK. MG3 turned her head, dazed and confused. She had just been hit by MG42, or a mirage of MG42, and it hurt. Can hallucinations hurt you or is that just part of the hallucination, she pondered looking at the ground.

"Look at me MG3," MG42 snapped. MG3 slowly turned her head to look at her older sister. "You're a disgrace MG3. You're a disgrace to yourself, your a disgrace to military guns, and most importantly you're a disgrace to me," MG3 gulped. "You're constantly running from problems and hiding yourself away like some pre-production child. Frankly it's a good thing you'll be phased out soon," MG42 crossed her arms and smirked. "Cause then there will be one pathetic excuse for a gun on the front lines. I'm even ashamed that you're the one who shares my design," MG3 frowned and looked at the ground in shame. "You should stop hiding and running away from everyone and show them who you really are."

"But," MG3 began. "But if I do that then everyone will hate me," she blurted out. "Just like they did back then," MG3 mumbled as she looked at the ground.

"So," MG42 snapped again. MG3 looked up at her older sister in surprise. "If they hate you why should you care. Hiding yourself away and pretending to be someone your not is what we call a coward. Are you a coward MG3?"

"N...no," MG3 replied sounding a bit unsure of herself.

"Hmph," MG42 grunted. "If that's so then prove it. Go out there and show them what you MG3 are capable of doing, and if they hate you then give them a reason not to."

"R...right," MG3 replied with more confidence as her long dormant wolf like dog ears reappeared. MG42 smiled a bit.

"Now look behind you," She said. MG3 turned around to look behind her, there MG4 stood completely still, like a statue. "That's your younger sister. She should be looking up to you, not the other way around. You have over fifty years of experience so why don't you show your younger sister what that means and win this tournament."

"Right," MG3 said bristling with confidence as her tail wagged back and forth.

"Good, now WAKE UP YOU IDIOT," MG42 shouted. Surprise and shock overtook MG3 as she turned around to face her older sister. Instead her eyes snapped open.

Confused MG3 blinked a couple of times as she assessed her surroundings and current condition. She was lying on the ground staring up at the sky and her head hurt. In front of her was a large wooden sign with writing. MG3 sat up slightly to read the sign which was a bunch of warnings and safety concerns for participating in matches. Number one read "PROTECT YOUR HEAD" in big black letters. MG3 stood up and stared at the sign further. The bottom of the sign was about level with her head. I guess I must have hit my head on it when I went to run away, she thought to herself. Looking back up at the first point on the sign she began to giggle, and then the giggling turned into laughter which grew louder and louder till perhaps the whole assembly area could hear her. Then she stopped. Something felt wrong. Reaching up to the top of her head MG3 felt the two animal ears that represented her connection to MG42 once again on the top of her head. The same ears she had kept hidden, along with much of her true personality, since her first years at Hastings. She looked around and saw all the people staring at her and felt the fear and anxiety that been ruling her life for so long once again wash over her. Instinctively she went to hid them again, to show them all that she was just a true and proper western gun like all the others, but then she stopped. For the first time in what felt like forever she felt more confident more, herself. Looking around she also noticed the types of guns that surrounded her. They were from all over the world, some were eastern with ears like her own and then there were western guns without. Looking more closely she also saw several guns who had connections to eastern guns. The thing she noticed though was that no one seemed to care about them, at least not any differently then they did any other gun. Then it dawned on MG3 that she had been living in the past, a past that had long since been passed by for a more tolerant and understanding present. MG3 stood up, dusted herself off, ignored the staring eyes, and turned back to her sister. She approached her sister with a smile.

"Alright little sister," MG3 said in her usual tone but with more confidence. "Let's go see if they've posted the brackets and arena's yet so we can start planning for our first battle."

She had always done poorly on there competitions but today, she would try very hard not to let down SCAR.

"I'm a little excited, as you can tell," she then said, smiling.

SCAR-H

SCAR would have had her arms wide open, anticipating something along the lines of a hug, or at least a high five. Not minding all the firearms around her that would be staring, She would then be promptly tackled to the ground, putting on a big smile once more. As she would collide with the ground, SCAR would simply smile up at RFB as she spoke, unphased by the rather rough landing. "Of course it's awesome! I was honestly looking forward to be on your side, actually! It's a miracle we got matched together in the first place!"

After RFB would stand, SCAR would also rise up, dusting herself off lightly. She had also noted the rather proper makeup of the teams, and how everyone was grouped up neatly. This would allow the two significantly more efficiency in their battle plans, instead of having to take into consideration everybody else. However, with such advanced battle rifles, they definitely would require some attachments for the upcoming battle. After all- SCAR was all about multipurpose roles. She'd put on a seemingly very confident smile, before placing her hands on her hips, giving RFB the most reassuring face she could. "We're gonna' win this, RFB, alright? Nothing will stand in our way!" SCAR seemed incredibly confident about this whole ordeal, but it may be just because she wanted to motivate her ally and newfound friend. After around a second, however, the battle rifle would then raise her right index and middle fingers up close in front of her, SCAR's other hand still on her hip. The battle rifle would put up a massive grin and wink in a very 'American-styled' pose, a rather comical-looking star shooting from her eye.* "But first, let's get ourselves some proper accessories, alright? We'll need everything we can put on our picatinny rails!" SCAR was also thinking of mounting her underbarrel grenade launcher, even if it may have prevented other things like forward grips being attached to those picatinny rails, which may be useful in case she went CQC.

M36A1
M36 took the news of who her partner was with a great deal of pleasure, which might come as a surprise to those who knew the way she could act. But honestly, how could one NOT be happy about being paired with weapon system consisting of a 5.56x45mm NATO carbine AND a 20mm grenade launcher firing counter defilade airburst shells? Say what you like about Koreans and their video games, but they have good taste in weapons and technology, general issue or not, especially when it came to thngs like the K11, or their K2 tank. She herself had access to the FN GL1 grenade launcher inherited from the FN F2000, which had a similar system whereby a laser rangefinder gave the proper range and then a tilt sensor gave indication of when the rifle was at the proper angle to fire the 40mm grenade at the proper distance, and a full set of picatinny rails gave her a wide choice of other attachments.

Rather than seeing her partner while looking for her, M36 overheard someone asking about where she was, and approached the one asking the question, K11 conveniently enough. Taking a moment to compose herself, M36 reached out and tapper K11 on the shoulder.
"You are K11, my partner, correct?"

"Truly you are a worthy successor of the Soviet Union, with such intelligence that I would think you personally designed by Kalashnikov himself if I did not know better." Avto said, smiling at the Russian boy who had paid her so many compliments himself. Her smile was genuine, so few rifles these days knew humility and comradeship like those who came from the Union and Federation of her homeland. With a nod she agreed "Truly I can not find a flaw in your plan, and through it we shall attain victory over the Imperialists. I am afraid I am not quite as well read as you, but I have heard of you and your capabilities, such an effective weapon as to make Lenin himself proud." she clasped her hands behind her back as she gave a confident nod that flung a few drops of water from her head onto VKS, seeming to agree with his fist pumping attitude.

But, using aggressive tactics against a pair of assault rifles would be almost suicidal, due to having a large firepower disparity between us and them." Explained 700 PSS, taking out his notebook and pencil from a pocket, drawing examples of it. He then flipped to a different page, drawing another tactic.

"For a defensive measure, we have a lot more variety. An example is we use a bait system. We set up an ambush point near our flag, someone stays there and the other acts as bait to draw enemy into the killzone. There's plenty more ways to go about it, but that's one tactic that comes in mind. Really, it all depends on the who we end up going against."

Remington gave a small shrug at his partner when she mentioned the word bait.

"Alright. I'll do my best to protect you, and don't worry about VSK. If we go up against him, I'll be the bait, because nothing is a more enticing target to a sniper than an enemy sniper. Although, personally we shouldn't worry about the MG team if we come up against them. While they have tremendous firepower by themselves, against accurate fire from range, they're pretty much useless. Moving on, it could have definitely worse. For all I know, I could have paired up with a submachine gun."

MG4 watched as her sister knocked herself out cold on the sign warning them to watch their heads. She rushed to help her sister up. As she approached her sister she could hear her mumbling something. Even weirder she saw a set of animal ears and a tail sprout from her sister. MG4 knew what they were, after all she had heard MG3 talk about her lineage to MG42. It was that she had never seen them before. MG3 always did her best to hide that part of herself, even from her sister. Not that MG4 didn't understand.

MG4 had just gotten over her shock when MG3 woke up. Almost immediately MG4 noticed her sister acting rather strange. The normally shy GPMG now seemed to be full of confidence. She was rather surprised MG3 wasn't embarrassed about her new features. She knew her sister was a little "defensive" about her lineage, and understandably so. Not a lot of people would like being the direct descendant of "Hitler's buzz saw", and as much as MG4 hated her lineage, she knew MG3 had it far worse. Yet it seemed MG3 could care less, her attitude having pulled a complete 180 as she lead MG4 to wear the brackets were.
Um sister." the young GPMG asked. "Are you feeling all right after hitting your head back there?"

G41 chuckled. "You know, technically I'm just an upsized version of MP5 chambered for a 5.56mm Nato round. But I get what you mean." G41 definitely could have got a worse partner. "I still don't buy into your thoughts on VKS. Even with those vests its still going to hurt like hell if he connects with one of us. Plus he's Russian." Ever since that little incident with AEK-971, it was a well known fact G41 didn't have the warmest feelings for them. "I suppose we should head over and see who we're facing in the first round."

M27 Infantry Automatic Rifle

416 had evidently not anticipated the ambush M27 had performed. M27 giggled as 416 struggled and begged to be let go. Finally, the Automatic Rifle relented and released her sister. Always so uptight about everything. Why couldn't 416 just relax for a little while? 416 was the kind of gun who worried about her grades after she handed in her impeccable project, extra credit, and extra extra credit. A trip to Miami might loosen 416 up, but 27 could never get her sister to go. Eh, she was a work in progress.

"So!" M27 laughed as she clapped her sister on the back, "I'm thinkin' we head to the store. There's this shiny new ACOG I've been eyeing..."

XM8

XM8 was browsing the assortment of red dot sights when she heard SR-47. Looking over the display of an absurd number of different magazines, XM8 saw that SR was at the cash register, waiting as the cashier processed the items. Walking over, she continued thinking about her own loadout. She had never really used attachments or anything like that in these combat games, as she fully believed in her plain, vanilla self to achieve anything. But the competition today forced her to consider the limitations of her carbine loadout. XM8 recalled that there were two machine guns paired together, as well as two paired battle rifles and an odd combination of a sniper rifle and an assault rifle. The machine guns were probably going to suppress the living hell out of everything with sheer volume of fire, while the battle rifles and sniper rifle had range...

The more XM8 thought about it, the more she seriously considered using her sharpshooter loadout. The only significant change was the longer, 20 inch barrel. It would provide her the firing range to keep the machine guns and battle rifles away, provided she could utilize it effectively...

"Hey SR," XM8 said. "For the games I was considering a sharpshooter loadout. It's something I can easily change right now, and I feel it would be the best for us. You know, to keep the bigger, nastier calibers away from us intermediate cailbers. What do you think?"

"Attachments...?" RFB slightly frowned. She didn't like having to fiddle around with the so called "enchancers". She knew that it helped though, although rarely she ever used them. Usually for her, she just attached folding iron sights that she had a habit of misplacing. For SCAR to use attachments seemed pretty reasonable, as she was a world class, hard hitting American spec ops rifle. "Okkk, I guess we could hit the gun shop then. They have some pretty sweet stuff, and I guess I could use something maybe a little better to aim with. One of those sweet EOTech sights, yeah."

At that point, RFB remembered she was broke. Probably all she could afford were the foldable iron sights, as they were cheap and plentiful. But she didn't want to let SCAR down. If she take it, then all the better.
I like to RP. Excellent thing to pass time with.

"Could be useful." Agreed SR-47, giving a nod to her partner.

"Although, I think it's best for us to figure out who were paired against. However, going against high schoolers would still have them outrange us by 200 meters at the very least." Continued the cat-eared rifle, thinking about some things, running scenarios in her head. "We can always target the flag, you'll set up for the shot while I distract them. If in the case we're going against a pair of assault rifles, I think that's when you need to be in your designated marksman rifle."

For a moment, SR-47 thought that they were ready to go now, to know who their enemies were going to be. She wanted to turn to the direction of the staging area. Yet, something prevented her from doing so, a small whisper getting louder and louder in the back of her head. Clearing her throat, she spoke once more. "Hey, XM8, does your personality change when you change your barrel length? Just curious."
