The battle is over. Akina had a bit of a mental breakdown in the med bay and tried to kill Alison, who's unconscious in the medbay with A13X and David, Joseph accidentally shot himself in his room and Charlotte is currently treating him, etc and etc.
Haruna is with Akina, Laelynn and Shino are both in the bridge...

So Joseph's problem is one you see among combat vets especially one in Special Operations, but for the most part its not gonna effect from him doing his job.
