Allistor Abendroth

For the first time, Allistor's been awake a few minutes before dawn. It was a calm and serene morning, devoid of all the noises that students would have made when the whole school's awake. He wore an overcoat over his normal clothes today, with a thin scarf to compliment his clothes. He was by the shoreline, meditating and trying to relax. It's been hectic since he came back, trying to catch up with all the lessons and activities he missed.

After a few moments, he heard some footsteps and when he turned around, he saw Annice jogging. "Hey. Good mornin'."
Random stuff here. Random stuff there. Bla bla bla. Whatever I don't care.

Soon, the penguins shall rule the Earth with a cold flipper

Alexander sat picking at his breakfast in the school cafeteria. It had been about 2 months since the library was burned down. And and some kids died too or something. In that time Alex had pretty much done nothing. There were some interesting new students such as that girl Sage who was the devil in female form. But overall most were just weird or annoying or boring such as that Cheese freak. Alex has spent most of his time studying like usual. Henry was usually out but his new roommate buzzed around the room like a fly, keeping Alex's attempts at dark rituals to a minimum so far this year. That and Sage had somewhat eliminated the appeal of meeting an actual demon. In the end they were pretty dull too and like most humans he'd concluded.

Kassoq Vinter

4:00

"Come my dear, see what your destiny holds," said an icy voice reminiscent of Kassoq's grand aunt, who had died in her isolated home in the Norwegian countryside a few years before, "If you know what's best for you, you'll do as I say," the voice continued, "Just a small nip on the neck, and you've done well. Then all you need to do is disappear into the night."

"No!" Kassoq loudly whispered as she turned away from the unidentified body she stood over, "I don't need to do it. I can live without it."

"Very well," the voice continued, "But you'll never know what you could have had, or could have done."

Kassoq sat up fast as a bullet in her bed. It was only a dream, she thought, But this isn't the first time I've had this sort of dream. Maybe it's my subconscious trying to tell me something. If it continues, I'll ask my parents. They might know; the voices do sound like some of my relatives, after all...

She stretched and looked at the alarm clock before laying back down. It was much too early to wake up. She needed two more hours of sleep at the least. Kassoq closed her eyes and fell asleep once more.

8/10/16

6:57

Kassoq woke up again, after having nearly the same dream multiple times.

Well, she thought, I can't be having this dream again and again for no reason. I should tell my parents about it some time. But Dad told he'd be too to talk busy until Christmas and Mom mentioned being on vacation without cell service or Internet, so I'll have to get a hold of them later. In the mean time, I suppose some breakfast will clear my mind. I wonder if Droma wants to come along. I'll text her about it.

Kassoq pulled out her phone and texted Droma, "Hey, wanna get breakfast at the cafeteria?"

She dressed herself while waiting for a response.

"Okay, looks like I'm getting breakfast," she muttered as she pulled her scarf tight.

She got up and quietly left her dorm, as other students were likely sleeping and would probably be irritated if she made too much noise.

As Kassoq walked, she pondered her repeating dream more, before pushing it to the back of her mind. Even if it was by no means an average school, it was still school, and school was no place to worry about dreams.

She reached the cafeteria and grabbed an assortment of breakfast items. Among them were orange juice, grits, eggs, and a bit of bacon. She was feeling a bit peckish and had gotten more than she normally would. Kassoq sat down at a nearby table and began eating as she waited for her friend.

8/10/16

Droma Kokinos

5:45

Droma leapt out of her bed as her alarm blared the song We Didn't Start the Fire directly in left ear.

As she woke up, she stretched and yawned before scratching her back. It was going to be another long day.

Droma began her morning routine by changing into gym shorts and a t-shirt, and then taking a walk around the campus with her earbuds in. She'd always walk, never run, as she did this to wake up and get her blood flowing.

She'd always do this until 6:00, where she'd go back to her dorm, shower, dress herself in clothes more suited to formal education, and prepare her hair, put on light makeup, and slip on her socks and shoes.

8/10/16

6:59

As Droma was finishing fixing her hair, she received a text. She was unable to respond as she had her hands full, but hurried to respond as soon as she finished, "I'll be there. Just let me finish getting ready."

Droma strolled out of her dorm room a few minutes later ready to go and made no fuss about making her way to the cafeteria.

As she entered the cafeteria, Droma spotted Kassoq as she was sitting down, and signaled that she was going to get something to eat.

Droma quickly grabbed orange juice, pancakes, eggs, and bacon from the buffet before sitting down next to Kassoq.

8/10/16

Katariina "Tarmo" Pärn

7:05

Tarmo sat up with a shudder as he woke up from a particularly realistic dream about his family.

It's just a dream, he thought, I won't ever have to see them again. I can just go get breakfast in peace. Maybe I'll meet Rangi there too.

After thinking this, Tarmo pulled a small smile on his face, something that was a rare sight indeed.

He got dressed much more quickly than he normally would, as he had been working on pushing his unpleasant memories to the back of his mind, which, while he still remembered them vividly, had helped him to ignore them and focus on the tasks at hand.

Tarmo walked with a rare stride to his step to the cafeteria, where he took two large cups of his one true love, coffee. In addition, he took a plate and put meager amounts of hashbrowns, grits, and eggs on it.

When he turned around to find a seat, he gave the room a brief glance before spotting Droma and someone he assumed to be her friend.

Tarmo walked over and sat at the table next to the table at which Droma and her friend sat and began to eat as he wondered if Rangi would show up.

8/10/16

Kahurangi "Rangi" Tahuaroa

7:20

Rangi woke up to his alarm's buzzing, as he never bothered to change it from the default.

He sat up, still with his eyes closed, and yawned. It was time to wake up, again.

He trudged over to the bathroom and nearly bumped into the wall. It was nothing; he'd become used to bumping into things in the morning.

When he made his way into the bathroom, he opened cabinets and felt around until he found his contacts, which he promptly put in his eyes.

"Ah," he sighed contently, "Now I can see."

Rangi walked over to the foot of his bed and grabbed his clothes. He would lay out his clothes for the next day, be it rain or shine, and that's what he'd wear whether it was bright and sunny and he had expected it to rain, or hail the size of tennis balls was falling and he'd expected a light sprinkle.

As he dressed himself, Rangi wondered who had already made their way to the cafeteria, or the dining hall as he preferred to call it.

Rangi quickly stalked out of his dorm room, slouching over as he did. Rangi was never very keen on having good posture. He just saw it as another waste of time.

As he walked to the dining hall, he twirled a strand his unkempt hair.

When he entered the dining hall, he saw his friends all sitting near each other, and gestured toward the buffet to tell Tarmo what he was doing.

Rangi shuffled over to the buffet and grabbed a plate. He filled the plate with grits, bacon, and eggs with a side of yogurt and a glass of milk. Rangi had just picked these out at random, as he had never been particularly picky when it came to food.

He sat down next to Tarmo and dug in to his meal without a word.

Hailey Winters

"I slept well, tired my self out pretty well with Annice last night. I'm glad that she's really pushing me, I think I've made a lot of progress." Hailey paused for a second, tussling Reds hair a bit and giving her another kiss of the cheek. "You've been a great help to. I don't think I could have come this far with out you. You're pretty much my motivation."

With both of her friends help, Haily had come pretty far with her magic, and was finally feeling like she could stand her own against her peers at the school. Some of them were still far out of her league, like Annice, but Hailey was getting stronger by the day. She had been helping them too, both of them had troubles academically, and Hailey was more than happy to help them with that.

James Michel

James was busy setting up for breakfast, the special was crepes today, so he took a moment to reply to Soliel. He came over with rolled up sleeves and his usual wide smile, and loud voice.

"Soli, mah boy. What can I do for you today!"

Annice Null

"Hey Alli. It is a pretty nice morning. Also, I have some great news, I talked to my doctor yesterday, and he said I should be clear for all foods now. Do you want to join me while I finish my jog, then head to get food?"

Annice was in a pretty good mood, it was a beautiful day, and she was a fan of the cold, being rather used to it at the fortress in Switzerland, and usually going to warm climates meant she was on deployment.
The year’s at the spring,
And day’s at the morn;
Morning’s at seven;
The hill-side’s dew-pearled;
The lark’s on the wing;
The snail’s on the thorn;
God’s in His heaven—
All’s right with the world!

hi!

Katelyn laughed again as Hailey started messing with her hair. "Hey!" she protested, still giggling, her 'fangs' showing as she laughed gleefully. Then she hugged Hailey again. "And thanks for helping me with my class stuff! Some of this stuff is so boring, though, like when am I ever going to need half of this? Ah, well at least I'm not stuck in Scripture classes or whatever anymore." She made a face, her tongue sticking out of her mouth with disgust. "Now that was not only boring, but a total waste of time and a drain on my will to live!" she declaimed dramatically. "Every second, I could feel my joy slipping slowly away, and I fell into the darkness of total boredom!"

Ignis arrived at the island in the middle of Superior, getting of Pressie's back. She could see lush rolling flatland before her beyond the white sand beach.
"Well, this should be it." she looked on and muttered. "C'mon Glinda." she started walking away from the beach and towards the grassland. Glinda cheeped and followed closely. After half an hour of walking in the hot sun, the pair spotted a group of griffins in the distance. Wiping some sweat from her brow, she smiled.
"Maybe your Mom's over there. Let's go, ok?" She turned into a snake and slowly slithered through the grass, hoping to not draw attention.

Glinda suddenly cheeped loudly and ran towards one of the griffins excitedly. One of the largest of the pride lifted its head up and walked towards Glinda slowly, sniffing her all over. The griffin screeched loudly and walked back towards the pride. Glinda cheeped and happily followed it, looking back to find Ignis, but was disappointed when she was gone. She sighed and walked back to her mom.

Ignis slithered to the shore and looked back at Gilda wistfully.
"Have fun kid. Take to the air and fly free." she smiled and hopped on Plessie again, riding back to Mana.
Halfway there, she chuckled and wiped her eye. "No turning back now."

Soleil smiled up at the cheery cook, and he replied, "Hi...um...I-I wanted to...bring Ms. Comnena her breakfast...a-and I was wondering...if you could make me a platter to bring to her...to her dorm..." he answered. He was not sure how well this would work, but he hoped that it would at least let her know that she did not have to hide away from everyone. Not to mention it would be a first good lesson to Sage on how to be considerate of others.

Alex Aegerius

Wrong, wrong, wrong. Wringing me out. Wrought right and rigid. Can't relax. Can't release… They’re coming. Can’t run, breath in painful stabbing and then real stabbing. Lungs full, scent of blood as it all goes black. De-

Alex screamed, body shaken as his eyes dilated across the room. It’s fine, all fine. They’re gone, dead whispers nothing else I… He stopped to grab ahold of himself. It hadn’t been this bad for months. His sleep was usually accompanied by a cryptic dream, words he held no grasp of but nothing like this. Nothing that tore away at him since... then. He tried steadying his breathing and collect himself before heading downstairs.

After he had a shower and got changed, Alex made his way to the cafeteria. Luckily for him, it wasn’t too busy yet and he was able to grab a table by himself. The nightmare was still haunting him. The crying, the sharp pain, it was all he could remember. Alex tried focusing on his food but as that proved futile he took out his notebook and tried to preoccupy himself with it, hoping that studying of all things would block out the voices that echoed in his mind.

Henry Von Kressel

Walking alone once more, Henry remembered his younger days. Days when he spent hours alone, in deep silence, where he questioned and answered himself multiple questions. Days when his strength was sapped by his hunger, due to his hesitation of leaving the fortress that his room became. A fortress of security, of solitude, where he could always think about what happened.

As he approached a lone area, he sat with his legs crossed over each other, in an indicative of meditation. His mind drifted through many memories, until it returned to that same room. Slightly illuminated, a pile of books at the corner and a bed. The wardrobe stood always with one door open, clothes pouring out and over the ground.

The bathroom provided the hygiene he needed. Probably the only well kept part in his bedroom, he revisited it mentally, before delving further into his memories. This was the place he went, running, when anyone said something bad to him. When his strength failed him. When he wanted to cry and he couldn't do it, when he was simply himself. And that mental replica was doing exactly the same function once more.

As he snapped back to reality, he wiped the tears of his face. There wasn't other option. He needed to find his friends, find Aria, and show to her that even with the fact that things changed, that didn't mean nothing to him.

With his eyes set for the Academy, he walked back to the halls and the corridors that he defended even when his courage failed him. And now he would have to defend the relationships he built with equal vigor.
Nothing to see here, move along.

Lawrence Leopold Hatoyama Denisovich Vdovushkin

Lawrence turned to face Ignis, placing his briefcase down on the bench so as not to accidentally crumple his jacket or any other part of his clothes.

"Well", he said, the corners of his mouth turning up ever so slightly in a faint, reflective smile, "I came here two months ago, so I'm not exactly new. Neither am I a longtime teacher though, if you see it that way."

With that, he stretched out his hand and made eye contact with the young Asian girl, his mouth stretching out further into a fully fledged, closed lipped smile, one that wasn't entirely unusual, and yet peculiar to him nonetheless. A trademark smile, to use a more succinct word.

"Wô shì Lawrence Vdovushkin. Wô de rìyû míngzì shì 'Jīushān'."

Lawrence L. H. D. Vdovushkin

"Heh heh, méi guān xi là!" (Not a problem)

Lawrence smiled back. He, too, sometimes forgot the identities of new teachers back when he taught at Paradise Middle School. Perhaps it was because of the sheer size of that particular middle school; the faculty, after all, consisted of almost 300 teachers and 16 Heads of Department. A forgivable mistake, for sure.

Switching back to English, Lawrence continued, "I must say, the students here are a pleasant bunch. I expected a bit more rowdiness considering how they're all magic practitioners, but... they're a well behaved bunch."

Lawrence L. H. D. Vdovushkin

"Nothing much", he said, opening his briefcase and shuffling the papers inside, while taking care not to damage his MacBook. "I'm just enjoying the cool air and the scenery; I've got a Chemistry period later today, too, so I'll probably look through my lesson plan one more time."

Lawrence faced the scenery for a moment. Such unspoiled beauty; to think that he, fifteen years ago, had wanted to go into an industry that hacked and burned away at natural masterpieces like this elsewhere. It was unthinkable; at least, to him it was.

Perhaps, Josephine, that was also on your mind when you first begged me to teach them?

Lawrence never shed tears. Somehow, regardless of the situation, whether joyous or mournful, he would just take it all with a stoic smile upon his face, as if he wanted to control himself. By no means, however, did it ever entail him being emotionless. He did feel emotions, all right; it was just expressing said emotions in an honest and straightforward manner that he wasn't particularly fond of doing.

"By any chance, is there a place where we can see all the timetables compiled into one place?"

Allistor Abendroth

Allistor stood up, brushing off the dirt off his clothes and stretched his body. "I could use some exercise. And if you are now free to eat what you want, the bill's on me today for breakfast then."

He combed through his hair with his right hand, soft ice covering his hair, shining in the morning light. He agreed to Annice that it is quite a nice morning, with a bit of morning fog hanging over Mana. Glacia moved a bit around his neck to cuddle, and he gave her a slight pat. "Let's go?"

John Randzgriz

*Clasp* a gust of wind moved upwards as the book was closed shut and sat upon a skyscraping pile of its brethren. "*Sigh* Finally done..." The white haired man mumbled to himself while scratching his head and throwing himself back in his seat. With a large exhale, John's eyes slowly began to reveal themselves to the school's roof in dramatic fashion. "What to do now? ...mmmmm... I guess I could go for a walk around campus again." The red eyed man spoke, raising himself from his chair and grabbing his lab coat before loosely placing it over his shoulders.

Just before walking out the door a lost member of his book collection seemed to reveal itself atop one of his drawers catching his eye. "mm..I guess I could read one more." he said as he extended his wrapped, right arm to grab and begin reading the book. "Now them...time for a little stroll."

Hailey Winters

"That does sound pretty damn boring. At least here a lot of the subjects are pretty useful. You know, now that I think about it, I think I've been in church only twice." She stopped, a bit of a blush formed and she laughed a little. "I just realized, I've been in more strip clubs than churches. Anyway, I'm going to get ready, then we should grab some food, I'm always exited to see what our resident master chef has crafted for us. Plus cooking club is a tonne of fun."

She still hadn't told Kate much about what she did before finding her magic, Hailey had told her all about how it was being a minor teen pop star, but nothing about what she did before that. She wasn't really sure why, it never really came up, but was she ashamed of it? She had gotten in to a lot of questionable things, she was almost kicked out of her first year of high school. She did drugs, hooked up with random guys, and girls, and partied in the worse possible way. Hailey knew that Kate wouldn't judge her for that, but still she didn't like talking about it, didn't really want for her little Red to know those things.

James Michel

"That sounds like a good idea, but you should eat yourself first. You might do more harm than good if you show up to early." He lowered his voice, almost a whisper, something very rare for him. He was clearly worried. "I know you care about both of them, so I'm telling you this in confidence. Catherine has it really rough most mornings. She's ashamed of it, even after all that she went through. I don't think she would want you to see her like that. Give it another forty five minutes or so, then head over there. That'll give me time to get something special made up for them any way."

Annice Null

"Hey, thanks for that. I plan on getting nice and exhausted before this meal. I'm going to go, as I think it's said, absolutely HAM. Maybe I'll join the cooking club now, I have no idea how to do much more than microwave a MRE or use their chemical heaters." Annice put her arm around his shoulder then motioned out infront of them with her arm. "It's a brave new world of flavor for me to explore, and I'll be damned if I don't make the best of it. Never cooked for my self before, I'm exited to start. But for now lets work on up that appetite."

Annice took off at a fast pace, after a few meters she checked back to make sure she hadn't out paced Alli.
The year’s at the spring,
And day’s at the morn;
Morning’s at seven;
The hill-side’s dew-pearled;
The lark’s on the wing;
The snail’s on the thorn;
God’s in His heaven—
All’s right with the world!

hi!

Understanding what he meant, Soleil nodded. He decided that it would be better to wait then, especially if it meant the chef could whip up something special for the girls. He smiled at Chef Michel and answered, "Y-Yessir. Thank you." He then got some of the breakfast food that had already been made, served himself (and Sage), and he carried their trays to a nearby table. As he put them down, he explained, "See? I got you your food, a-and then I carried it to the table for you. Th-That's something nice that everyone will like, and once Chef Michel makes Aria and Catherine some food, th-that's what we're going to do for them! Th-That way, they'll be happier too."

Allistor Abendroth

Allistor need to catch his breath every other moment, Annice clearly a lot more athletic than him. 'Goddammit. I feel like I'm pretty shit.' When Annice looked back at him, he ran faster to catch up, his coat flapping behind him. "I really should strengthen my physical endurance and my body in general." He said while jogging beside her, taking a few deep breaths once in awhile. His breath looks cold, and Annice could feel a significant drop in the temperature when she's near Allistor.

Prusselanden wrote:"...I think in the hall of the main building we can see it." she picked up a blazing red fallen leaf and looked at it. She tucked it into her pocket. "..So, you enjoying the scenery? Nature's pretty incredible, isn't it?"

"Indeed", said Lawrence.

He turned back and faced the lake, its shimmering waters glowing under the warm rays of the morning sun. It seemed almost ethereal, the way the light bounced off the shimmering blue water. Like a chemistry experiment, in some ways...

"Mr Lawrence?"

"Yes, Joseph?"

"Why is copper (II) sulfate blue?"

"Well, you don't really need to learn that for middle school syllabus. But, if you want to know, it's because the Cu2+ ion has lost two electrons, meaning that it's a d-block metal ion. Since the electrons can then transition between different states, the ion absorbs certain parts of the light spectrum, and reflects blue light."

"Woah!"

"I did my degree in Organic Chemistry, though, so this isn't really my field of expertise, though. I just... you know... read it up when I did my teaching degree."

"Heh heh..."

Snatched back from his daydreaming by himself, Lawrence continued to shuffle through his papers, while occasionally making eye contact with Ignis so as not to make her feel that she had been forgotten.

"Thanks for that info", he said. "I'll go check it out later."

Ziriad Vernichtung

Yesterday while venturing through the library, Ziriad had stumbled upon an old, dust ridden tome. And so he had stayed up till dawn the next morning reading through it’s many pages. When his stomach had started growling, he decided to make his way down to the cafeteria and get something to eat. After grabbing his plate he sat down with a group of students, still drowsy from the night before. “Hey kiddos, did you get my homework done from yesterday?” Being in the state Ziriad was in, he completely mistook these students for the ones he had hired.

Annice Null

Annice slowed her pace ever so slightly, understanding that most people didn't have twelve years of rather intense physical training behind them. She didn't want to insult Alli, or get to far from him, so she tried to find a balance that would keep him pushing himself with out falling behind. She finished her run at the cafeteria, her generally stoic expression gone, a wide childish grin replacing it.

"This is going to be great. Been waiting for this moment for six months now. I bet Mr. Michelle will fix something special up for me."

"Τι?!" Droma replied confused, almost choking on what she had been eating, "Your homework?"

"Your homework? I don't recall having met you before," Kassoq responded in her usual barely audible voice, "We don't have anything for you."

"Also, care to explain why you're asking anyone for your homework, buddeh?" said Rangi with a slightly condescending voice.

"I don't have m-much ex-experience in the m-matter," Tarmo added, "But if I r-recall, the s-s-syl—syl—s-s-syl—the syll-syll-sylla—the sylla-syll-sylla—the syllabi clearly s-states that h-h-home—h-homework is al-almost ex-ex-exlusi—exclusively in-individual w-work.
