So in other words he stops anything coming at him speedily, yes?

Essentially. If he manages to touch something with his hand, all the force and momentum behind it will dissipate, causing it to drop harmlessly to the ground. This is the case whether it be a spitball or a bullet, a punch or an airship crashing into him.

That being said, even if he stops something like a crashing airship, it won't stop it from just falling on him if its still above the ground. It's not like he's stopping gravity. Also, just the sheer amount of aura he'd need to stop the airship would probably have him in the emergency room in the best case scenario...

Yay! Didn't think it would work, considering I feel this was probably the most overpowered semblance I've come up with!

Anyway, what's going on that I need to know about before I post? Also, do you have any ideas of how I can introduce myself into Beacon realistically?

That's quite alright; misunderstandings are to be expected!

Another thing: do you remember that theme I found for Lucius Aurelius? It was dark with slight military overtones and fit the character well but, honestly, it wasn't very RWBYish.

This is.

First of all, you don't have to write him as a newcomer to Beacon. He has always been a student since the beginning, and has just come out of his "shadow person" status. He knows everyone to varying extents, but he is most likely closest with his teammates (which for now will be considered unknown ICly until you have joined a team OOCly). Secondly, the setting now reflects the Vytal Festival, where your character can go and have fun, and the accompanying tournament, where fighters from all over the world come to do battle.

Ok. Have the fights started yet, or do we still have plenty of time before the shitstorm that started with episode 8 arrives?

Also, is anyone willing to let me on their team? Actually, does anyone even have room in their teams?

We still have plenty of time before the chaos. For now it's hanging out at the festival and fighting in the tournament.

I should probably give the characters something to do to keep activity up, I feel like this is the part where the casual interaction is gonna lead to inactivity in the end. Any ideas?

Massive impromptu practice tournament that's mandatory for every beacon student in the tournament, and the only reason we didn't see them is because it took place before season 3 started?

Tbf, the sparring sessions students have during their combat classes serves much of their training for the tournament.

I'm still in the process of creating a new post, and so far I've been impeded by that impenetrable wall of writer's block. I've focused much of my recent posts on one of my characters (Ashley Caldwell), and I'm in the process of introducing my other character (Hannah Blikdase), whom she is in the process of conducting her secret yet experimental semblance training. If you read my earlier posts, you would already know what I'm talking about, but for those of you who have no idea, let me give you a concise explanation.

Hannah's semblance is combat cloning, whom she can use to spawn twenty clones of herself; however, being that they are without aura, the clones can die in combat like any ordinary soldier in real life, and I'm afraid the gruesome reality of getting shot or wounded in combat applies to these clones. What Hannah has been attempting to do with her clones is to try and make them their own individuals via specialised training experiments created on her behalf and along with the assistance of her closest friend, Ashley Caldwell. Under normal circumstances before these experimental training sessions were created, the Hannah clones relied directly upon the real Hannah's absolute command in combat (and considering that none of the clones speak English, and Hannah is the only one who can speak to them only in German, Dutch, and/or Danish), which leaves them slow to adapt when left leaderless, and especially vulnerable if fighting in small numbers (like three to five manned teams); however, the clones can still fight as a decent defensive force, since they will momentarily regroup and stay together at all cost while holding their ground based upon their last given commands by Hannah (though this is a suicide tactic in a losing fight).

Subsequently, Hannah wants to make her clones capable of self-sufficiency and independent decision making without relying on her absolute command, and the only plausible way she could do that was to assign her clones to lead their own mini teams of five troops. Using the aura training from her ordinary Beacon classes, Hannah made it plausible for her clones to lead their own teams via by creating certain clones with a limited reservoir of aura to allow them to create four copies of themselves. This was how the four clone teams were created in Hannah's special semblance training experiments (Red Team, Blue Team, Green Team, and Yellow Team), and the experiment so far in the RP has been going on since the early morning, and with midday already here in the RP, Hannah is already progressing the four team combat experiment to its third challenge (01).

Aside from this jargon (depending on how you put all this information), what Hannah is attempting to find through this experiment is to see if her clone teams can retain their assigned personalities and mindsets while still being able to lead successful simulated battles (Ex. Red Team = Aggressive = Poor Defenders; Blue Team = Cautious = Slow; Green Team = Individualistic = Lone Wolves; Yellow Team = Analytical = Predictable once observed). Though despite conducting experimental training in secrecy, it's unsurprising (at least for me as the author) that someone (aside from a teacher/professor/instructor) will eventually stumble upon the training grounds and discover what Hannah is up to and better understand how to combat Hannah Blikdase in the tournaments. Depending on if anyone wants to make this happened, the experiment can be discovered by either the faint sound of the guns and/or the clones screaming to their supposed deaths after being shot (02).

(01) Marksmanship Challenge: "You are not allowed to resupply on munitions after each round. You must make every shot count since you the ammunition you've been provided will be your only munitions. Whether it be a pistol, shotgun, rifle, or a machine gun, it's up to you and your team to preserve as much ammunition as possible while knocking out the opposing team. Likewise from the previous challenges, you will be firing subsonic lighting dust bullets that will safely incapacitate and knock you unconscious, which thereby simulating the act of being shot and killed in real life. Best of luck and await for the round to start."

(02) Post Interaction Idea: "If you have questions about this information, please ask me ASAP via PM. I know what I presented may sound confusing for some of you, but if I was an ordinary student at Beacon Academy, and if throughout the day I kept hearing faint sounds of distant gunfire and some occasional deathly screams somewhere from the Emerald Forest, I would feel some suspicion that the Grimm are attempting an aggressive offensive on the academy defenses. Subsequently, I would want to go check out where the barely audible gunfire may be coming from if I had the chance just to see if everything is okay."

We could do combat classes per each academy year? But some aren't Beacon students? Can we do the same for non-Beacon students then? I wouldn't mind writing some action; been struggling at ideas anyways. Unless anyone's up for more casual interaction near Voice of the Sea? Elektra and Kol will have a concert performance at some point in this arc, so that's up in the air still.

Why, however did you guess?

Yes, that LEGO theme was much of my childhood; I was going through some of the music a few days ago and thought, Hey, the lyrics for this fit really well with Lucius Aurelius' character. Why not make it a theme for him? So I did. Yep.

I apologize, but I've got a little bit of writers block when it comes to this RP. I might wait a little bit to see if I see somewhere/something interesting to pop into, so I do again apologize for not posting for quite a while.

Yay! Quick question then: may we assume some fights are happening right now? I'd like Kol and Elektra to have something to watch since they're up in the Colosseum, but I didn't want to assume wrongly they were in next post. Still on 4v4 rounds only though?
