Former Citizens of the Nimbus System wrote:Ormata, two things that I think should be brought up immediately to avoid talking at cross-purposes:
- Could you clarify what the common understanding of Beacon Academy's curriculum is within the roleplay? The series is remarkably light on information in this regard, whether there are optional subjects (I made the somewhat ill-founded assumption that there are not) being one of those areas not covered.
- Lucius Aurelius was referring to philosophy classes rather than lessons on culture (ethics, obviously, being a branch of philosophy), as can be determined by context (specifically Layla's last sentence).

CHARACTER INFORMATION
Name: Sangria Blatt
Age: 28
Sex: Female
Race: [ ] Human [x] Faunus
Animal Traits:Sangria has a fox tail, colored red with the characteristic white tip. It doesn’t move much, mind, though it does make for a very good fake blanket, as it were. Very fluffy. Very good. In addition to this, she has the canines and incisors of a fox, long and rather curved. It’s a rather interesting image when she smiles.
Biography:Sangria was born in Vale to a sailor and merchant mariner. Her father was a rather rambunctious fellow, hence his immediate taking-to with her mother, whom was much the same. As such, her childhood was filled with interesting and, to a degree, far-fetched stories. In school she excelled in such things as history, though fell short in more athletic fields, like Physical Education. A brief entertainment of being a hunter was cut down with a long, long talk with both her parents who both disliked the severe danger associated with being a Hunter. Simply put, they wanted their little girl to be away from Grimm, not running towards them. After all, Grimm were a rather intimate danger to both of them after all, with sea-borne Grimm being plentiful. As such, Sangria continued to work in school, continuing to earn scores while looking-about to try and find her own place.
Personality:
She would find this place, rather interestingly, while on a school project. Find and talk to a local business, it said, then write an essay on how important that store or business is. Most would chose police forces, places owned by parents, the government even. A few took to the Academy, eager to gain a brief look into the lives they might, just might, have. Sangria didn’t much like the assignment, it smelling too much like gushing over oneself, and took to the first store she could find. It was a Dust shop, owned by a rather kind old woman. The day was quiet, so Sangria pulled-up a seat and got to chatting.
Sangria learnt that Dust stores were far more interesting. She listened to second hand stories, things that could have, just maybe, happened, of high-and-mighty Hunters coming to the store looking for Dust. Heck, even STRQ once came to her shop, a long time ago. It seemed so very quaint, in an odd way, yet also exciting. You could hear stories, talk with people, sit down with a book if business was slow or be on your feet. It had the bonuses of being a Hunter without the inherent danger of doing such things. It seemed so very appealing, and her parents most certainly approved. Once out of the house, they even got her started with some connections, along with a rather small Dust store.Sangria is quite, calm, and overall likes to stay in her little hole. Life is good, in her opinion, and she likes to keep it that way. While professional, she does enjoy hearing the stories of other people passing-through and pokes some of them to reveal the interesting parts. Protective of her store, property, and customers, Sangria’s not afraid to get involved and stop such confrontations that might make life more hectic. Simply put, she views the store as her home (Which it is), her customers as family. They are under her protection and she, to the best of definitions, cares greatly for them.

Appearance:Sangria stands at 5’6”, the average height, and is quite slender in physique. Not a fighter in any sense, she lacks the basic musculature and foundation most Hunters have. She simply does not have it. With paper-white skin, her lack of outside exposure shows to a good degree. Sangria’s hair is red-pink, in long braids, and her oval face if framed by a pair of largish glasses. The fox tail she has, along with the fox teeth, mark Sangria as Faunus, though both of these can be hidden. Sangria’s eyes are a dark brown, the color of freshly-tilled earth.
COMBAT INFORMATION
Weapon: Blat Arms Type 4
Appearance:With a rifle frame, the 4 is made from lightweight alloys, allowing it to be lighter than most military weapons. Chambered in 4 Gauge, it’s barrel is nearly comically large, a gaping maw. Combined with a large 10-round magazine, folding stock, and pistol grip, the Type 4 looks to be a fierce weapon.
Capabilities:Firing automatically, the Type 4 has a cyclic fire rate of 120 rounds per minute, or 3 rounds per second, allowing it to clear rooms effectively and with little difficulty. At least, the Type 4 would clear rooms with little difficulty if it weren’t for the Blat’s rounds; each pellet a round has the capability to pierce light armor and to ricochet off of structural emplacements. What this means, in the practical sense, is that it cleans rooms like it’s Black Friday. There’s a reason why Sangria purchased it, after all.
Semblance:Sangria has the ability to, for a very limited time, protect herself from projectile weaponry and other physical arms fire. This lasts for approximately fifteen seconds, and while it is useful the Semblance is not impervious to all physical arms fire. Armor Piercing Rounds do go through it, along with higher-powered rounds, such as that from assault rifles. It is quite useful for blocking fire from her own weaponry, however.
OOC INFORMATION
RP Activity: Fairly Frequent. Currently going to school.
RP Example (link or one shot):Mygeeto System
Yseult Cartier
"Well, it's now or never people. I bet there's another battalion coming this way! Lia, we gotta go!"
Yseult split-off from the other people. She had to get back to her home; they would find-out who she was, and then they would raid her home. And they would find things. They would learn of her credit-mining operations against the Mygeeto banks. Then they would shut it all down, and Yseult would be back to square one.
So, she split-off, running despite the snow and the blizzard. Despite the fact that she could see only a bit in front of her, she had memorized some of the city’s layout. She memorized routes out of it, to the spaceport, everywhere she needed to go when she had no time to plan. This was when it came in handy.
Turning a corner, she realized that she was not looking ahead with the Force, searching out the enemy, when the enemy was right there. They weren’t even that far away from each-other; perhaps they stood a yard, a meter, away. Yseult reacted without thinking.
Whipping her sword out, she used the same motion to cut one of their throats. The stormtrooper went along with the motion, hitting the ground as he vainly attempted to clutch his throat. The others quickly raised their weapons, and they most definitely did not say “Halt”. Before they could pull their triggers, however, she force-pushed all four of them into the wall, and ran-past the moaning soldiers.
However, she paused. The man on the ground was still groaning, and she leant-down to examine him. Pushing away his rapidly weakening hands, Yseult found that the cut was shallow, somewhat. She had not been aiming to behead the man. Concentrating, she stopped the bleeding, though there would still be some issues. Briefly, the Kuati wondered if he would get frostbite, yet...most likely not. The cut in the fabric was thin, and he would be fine. Wiping the blood away on the snow, and sheathing her sword, Yseult picked up the man’s rifle, a DC-15, before continuing on.
Yseult quickly reached her home, opening the door and taking, from underneath the bed, a device. It was a black box, with some gray protrusions, and a keypad. The weapon could be considered to be a thermal detonator, if one multiplied the power threefold. It would disintegrate the room and all evidence therein, and be a far quicker destroyer of evidence then digitally deleting everything.
Setting it for thirty seconds, she found her lightsaber, stowing it away, before activating it. The room had some fifty thousand credits, in various stashes, and some objects were worth just as much. She wasn’t going to attempt to get it. The money was merely there for such transactions as had happened that day, for paying employees. There was far more online, and her programs were online as well. They could run without her.
Then she ran, for the spaceport, running for her ship. Yseult had no intent to join the two others; Kanan was nice, and Lia was a smuggler, yet as it was, they were passing acquaintances. Her ship would get her away far, far quicker.

This was my reasoning; I do agree, however, that we should consider Layla as leader of the team before making any decision. I personally, however, don't think that Ozpin would do so: being 'stubborn' and possession of 'a [sic] overvalued sense of her own value courtesy of her upbringing in Mistral's nobility' sound quite close to the reason that Peter gave for Ozpin not making Weiss leader of Team RWBY.

I do like though that three of us all come from rich/influential families from various regions (Adan is from Vacuo, but chose Beacon over
Shade as some of the hunters that helped him realize what he wanted were trained at Beacon), and our leader is instead a servant of yet ANOTHER rich/noble family set to become a Hunter in part because he's not very good at chores.
