So I think I should go about explaining Aiden's religion, as it doesnt follow the Two Gods story. This doesn't break canon, as "There is more than one religion known to exist, with evidence of both monotheistic and polytheistic faiths." How doe sthis group feel about that, or should I not worry about it to much?

Now comes my greatest issue with joining games that have been going for a decent amount of time, trying to get into the swing of things. The first post is always the hardest.

I realised as I thought about the weapon's use that Ultor would not work at all in its intended functions (a flail needs a shaft of some sort attached to the chain for a number of reasons); as such, I've reworked it slightly and expanded on the description. I also came up with a way to add a sword form, so it now has that too.

Nah, I'll come up with a post in good time, I always struggle with my first post, part of why I usually look for an RP instead of making one.

It happens. Either we're busy with our RL commitments or we're taking too long with our posts. Or maybe it's because some of us come up with long posts, who knows.

I should prolly shake things up tho...

New poll. You can explain more about why they adhere to their respective religions right here.

Jackson and Adelaide are both agnostics due to the fact that 1. they grew up in an upper-middle class family that mostly provided for their needs through their own effort, 2. the insane number of religions that the people of Remnant believe in have made them shy away from choosing, and 3. the gods apparently abandoned the world to its own devices, forcing everyone to have to contend with the Grimm.

Carmina adheres to Oumism, which is weird considering her father adheres to a shamanist religion.

Leif is a devotee of the Cult of the Two Brothers, the one Qrow asserts to be the true religion. The reason is that his family has worshipped the two gods for several generations, and because he thinks it explains the reason why the Grimm exist.

The Sky Brothers (Shiro and Kuro) followed the Cult of Two Brothers. They might or might not have heard the tale from their parents when they were kids, prior to the destruction of their village. Shiro also used to tell the tale as a bedtime story for Kuro when he was little as well. This also explains why they used "Gods!" as interjections.

Aka-Inu believes in a pagan religion that believes Dusts are the manifestation of Gods, and also the origin of mankind. He was taught of this belief by his parents.

Reinard, like all upstanding Staal, believes in a monotheistic religion. However, his personal stance on religion is agnostic.

Team FATE and their religious beliefs.

Fabi is a believer of the Filipov pantheon. It is a 2819 god large pantheon with three temples. Due to the overt size of the pantheon, Fabi has taken Dilor, God of Humus and skill, as his patron deity.

Aiden believes in the Great Spirits (Animism), and has taken Avjya, Mother Godess and Godess of Nature, and Bœdica, Lesser Spirit of Battle and Freedom, as both his Patron deity and patron spirit.

Taro is atheist. He doesn't believe in a deity.

Eardwulf believes in one's own power. He believes that everything has potential to rise to the Upper-Realm (Realm of the deities) and become deities of their own realm, but this realm is the realm of testing for one to potentially become a deity.

Team VALU and Yamako/Manus to come later

Just gonna point out the Religion page on the RWBY wiki for bonus reference, also Storm, I'm pretty sure a church doesn't equal Christianity in a fictional world, especially because the twin lady statues (one of which Ruby destroys) and it has this odd symbol that can also be found in beacon vault

Aye, but Qrow does wear a crucifix around his neck, which kind of suggests its existence. Then again, this is a fictional world we're talking about so I could be wrong.

That is a good point though, not only Qrow but Ruby used to have two crosses on her costume and so does Ozpin pre-whatever the hell happened to him

It's curious, but crosses can mean more than Christianity
Btw this is just me skeptic that Monty while may have possibly put some vague Christian themes into it (according to some interview I think), I'm not sure of anything as heavy as Jesus was in Remnant

Where the choice of Elementalism (religion of the elements).

EDIT: Yes I know Animism has that aspect in it, but Elementalism only praises the elements.

There's references to lots of different religions, and cultures. All the characters of team JNPR for instance reference different people that cross dress (Nora - Thor, Lie Rin - Mulan, Jaune - Joan of Arc, Pyrrha - Achilles) and I'm sure that many other characters reference other religions and cultures that don't actually exist, or are vastly different in Remnant.

Some characters on screen have used Gods plural, and God singular when exclaiming, but for the vast majority of them, their religions don't seem to be a big deal, it seems as if the religious tensions aren't near as strong as they are/would be IRL. Racial tensions are also, so far, divided purely along the Faunus / Human line, and nationalism doesn't seem to be as strong. I'd say odds are good that there are religions that draw from many IRL ones (Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, ETC), but none match up directly.

It might even be possible that multiple ones are correct, or partially correct. If the two brothers (Which is the religion my character Adan Lazuli follows) is the true religion, then after they left Remnant, it's possible other powerful beings moved in and set up shop, each in turn leaving Remnant or going dormant, but the Two Brothers laid all the ground work the others simply influenced. IMO, I'd bet that most major cities have churches and temples for the most common religions, and perhaps multi-religion ones (Some parts of the world will combine Synagogues and Churches, sometimes even with Mosques, and I've *heard* that in parts of India you'll find Hindu Temples that share space with Christian Churches, sometimes due to space, but as this doesn't happen where I live, that I know of, I can't say why, but the arrangement is usually temporary when one or more have lost their usual place for some reason) due to the tight space of the world.

In fact, if the Grimm have done one good thing for the humans/faunus of Remnat, it's that they're far less divided then we are IRL due to the fact that we have to work together to survive. Grimm helped end The Great War because it caused a MASSIVE surge in Grimm populations and attacks worldwide, if I had to bet, I'd bet Salem, or an ancestor of hers (Though I believe she is in fact the ultimate evolution of Grimm, hence her coloring, and abilities to command Grimm, but that's a whole another discussion) played a part in starting that war, and are trying to start another one, hoping to use it to deal a death blow to humanity, or at least, force them to change and adapt from what they perceive to be stagnation.

Although, they seem to be part of the Two Brother mythos, considering the Relics (Or at least *some* kind of relic) is guarded at each of the main academies, and the maidens are confirmed as will.

Lucius Aurelius believes in Mistralian polytheism, which is essentially identical to Roman polytheism (belief in and acceptance of all gods so long as their worship does not threaten public order or exclude other gods, worship of gods on a quid pro quo basis and further worship of various individual, household and local guardian deities); the major difference is a belief that one's Semblance is a gift from a particular deity. Lucius Aurelius particularly favours Invidia as goddess of retributive justice, Pietas as goddess and manifestation of filial piety (among other forms of piety) and Theia as goddess of sight and radiance (and from whom Lucius Aurelius believes he has received his Semblance).

Could we rule that blood sacrifice is outlawed in Vale? I feel that that would create some interesting cultural tension.
