I'm hoping the rest of CMCL shows up because I'm ready to fight

Hmmm, wasn't Charli supposed to make some kind of post? Huh.

We in Team CLAL have actually had a plan for our first battle worked out for just under a month, now; while it may not survive contact with the enemy, I look forward to beginning to implement it, at least!

So long as it is posted, I mind not (within reason, of course); quality is more important than quantity, after all!

Posted! Finally.

I should really stop using the term "a bit" when describing the time my posts get made. Shit.

Anyways, let's begin the tournament fight already!

Yes? I just... can't... motivate... myself... enough... to actually bother.

Must... find... motivation...

Imagine angry tsundere screaming in my ear... Achieve tsunirvana.

But I just... I just can't make myself care... About anything... Except the results of my doctor's appointment later but that might actually affect my life.

Caring is so hard...

It's not much, but it's a thing.

And it's probably about as much as I'm capable of at my current level of caring about things.

Charlotte understands me. Mostly because she's busy worrying about everyone's inevitable death and the sheer amount of things that could make life absolutely suck between now and then, rather than the tournament.

Seriously... Why does everyone panic over the little things instead of the big things?

I'd advise you to try and get your writing motivation started with some writing exercises, or take some space off of NS for a while, but it's become a meme at this point. :P

Well, if that doesn't help, I'll often find myself musing about my characters, exploring elements of their personalities and attributes and extrapolating outwards from them to determine either new aspects of said personalities or how they would act in given situations. That can sometimes give me the inspiration that I need to write, which I find to be motivation in itself; having interesting ideas in the first place is halfway to putting them down on a page. For example, I was having a telegram conversation with Sil recently to work out how Lucius Aurelius was going to interact with Elektra and Kol that prompted me to fully iron out the Latin's philosophy so that I could explain it to them; I am now looking forward to roleplaying him to a greater degree just to embed elements of it within my posts and gradually reveal more and more of his character to you over the coming months and, should events allow, years.

TDLR: Try just thinking about your characters for a bit; you'll hopefully get some inspiration and, therefore, become more motivated.

No, what I mean is that it's not just about 'writing motivation'. There's a lot of other psychological stuff going on here and it's affecting my life in general. It's hard to feel motivation to do anything. It's been going on for a bit already, so I'm about due for an 'up' period rather than a 'down'. I'm just sort of trying to keep myself going until things change... I'm kind of used to it by now. Doesn't make it easier to power through.

Hmm... If that's the case, might I suggest doing some research on existentialist philosophy? I can't claim to know what you're going through and doubt that I've experienced anything of that severity but discovering existentialism certainly helped me to drag myself out of a period of meaninglessness last year; it might help you to do the same.

ANNOUNCEMENT:

A few hours ago, Icrum has notified me that he will be withdrawing from the RP and stepping down as Co-OP. His reasons are because he wishes to focus a lot more on his RL commitments. Something that we all agree should come first before NS, no? As OP, and on behalf of everyone around here, thanks for playing with us in this RP. Glad that we made it past the bottleneck of the team naming ceremony. Heck, we've come a long way, I reckon. Now we're in the Vytal Festival Tournament! Hope you'll be successful in the real world.

The fate of his parked characters (no pun intended) may depend on if he's gonna still give them to me and the other Co-OPs, except for teacher characters, who will be reassigned as NPCs. Other than that, his characters will be dropped from the roster if he does not wish to give 'em. RSIA vs. CMCL will continue, as I'll take over his NPCs. Someone's still got to get the tournament going. @CMCL players: the fight will most likely be fast-paced, so you don't have to do long posts.

As for any possible Co-OP vacancies, stand by for future updates.

In the traditional sense? No, as no one would want to slog from the absolute beginning.

If the RP starts at V4, yes. V4 already opens up the rest of the world to explore, which I think would draw in more players who want to do that with their characters.

Hold on just a moment, though - once we're through the tournament arc, we'll be in Volume 4. Surely we can wait for a matter of a few months, likely half a year at most, rather than starting a whole new roleplay? I for one am thoroughly looking forward to the fights.

Agreed! Perhaps we should expedite them on an individual basis for now? Players who are ready just go for it and jump in?

And I'm still here! Can't post tonight, but I will tomorrow night. Bit too busy lately.

That, to my mind, sounds like a really good idea. In my view, we should still only have a single fight going on at once so as to avoid confusion but, rather than having a predetermined order, simply let teams who are scheduled to fight one another do so if everyone is available, as Sil Arion says.

Pretty much, if you leave out that one detail where Grimm invade the school towards the end. :P

I'll have to warn you tho, if the Battle of Beacon Arc comes, your character(s) might die, most especially if they fuck up.

Legatia wrote:Wasn't it said we'd be diverging with the story?

Once we hit Volume 4. That's when the RP is gonna go free-form instead of following the canon story.
